For some reason, I didn't think the rules would apply when buying a bikini top vs an actual bra. Not sure what I was thinking, but this was actually a huge disappointment because I had it in my head it would be awesome on me. Kind of a consolation for the fact that no bras seem to fit right.
First of all, this band is very tight. Too tight for me and that gave me an almost muffin top look, except under my arms. But, it is very firm, so if it fits you, it would offer nice support.
It seems to be well-made, it's really pretty and ...was on clearance on Amazon for about $6 (so who could resist, really?).
What I failed to consider was that a seamed bikini top cup would have the same downfall as seamed bra cups have on my deflated, very soft boobs. The seams cut into the tissue and make very obvious creases and bumps. Although the cups fit, the appearance was totally unacceptable. I returned it, but I suspect that eventually it will make someone very happy.
I returned this red version of Panache Swimwear's Britt Halter Swimsuit in 30F. The navy version is more flattering, both because it's a darker color and therefore more slimming and because large expanses of navy look better on me than large expanses of Santa Claus red. I listed 2.75" as the gore height because if you measured it as a bra, that's what it would be. There are no bra straps, only halter ties. I listed 1.125" as the strap width because that's the width of the halter ties.
The bra part of this swimwear is uncomfortable. The profile is also kind of mangled looking, though that hardly matters ...with the agonizing pain from the center gore.
The retro styling is surprisingly flattering on my petite, inverted triangle body. From the front and back, the Britt Halter Swimsuit makes my body look curvy in a slim way. Because the coverage of the hip area goes down pretty low, it makes my hips look wider, which makes my waist look smaller and balances out my shoulders and bust.
Before I bought the red one, I bought the navy Panache Britt Halter Swimsuit in 30F on sale. I thought I would return the navy because I expected the cut not to flatter an inverted triangle body shape. I then ordered the red version on deep discount to see if the cut was the same. It is. The bra part of red Britt is equally painful. I captured the red version's measurements and kept the navy. I'll cut out the navy's bra and replace it with a sheer, plunge bra, perhaps converting the straps to halter ties that can be covered with the swimsuit's halter ties. Read more 173 more words
I made a mistake when I ordered this from a US internet vendor, assuming UK sizing (US32F=UK32E). Anyway. So its a gorgeous one-piece suit, but not for me! The color is a deep true purple with blue undertones, like a delphinium. It gives good coverage for a swimsuit, covering the butt & front adequately and making a nice mid-height swoop along the thighs. It doesn't bind or squinch there. The top is a complimentary squared-off shape, no deep cleavage but low enough to be seriously beach-babe. A little panel of navy-bordered trim & buttons in the center complements the navy straps. The built-in bra part is lightly padded, ...the wires are neither terribly wide nor narrow, and its entirely invisible. It closes with a clever and sturdy non-adjustable plastic clasp. It also seems too small to be a 32 band, but maybe it would stretch with wear. I don't know much more about the fit, because while I could just get it to snap closed, the top smushed me so flat and was so restrictive that I took it off in a hurry https://d28qt14g3opchh.cloudfront.net/smileys/icon_smile.gif" alt=":)" />. Since it was my first attempt at a bra-sized swimsuit plus the wrong size, idk, maybe that is what is supposed to happen? I think this suit would work great for a 28 or 30 back, and for someone who is smaller or shallower than me. It's very well made and a complimentary cut. Read more 136 more words
Runs a little large in the band (remember that things stretch even more when they're wet). I took in the gore to open up the top of the cups a bit. Cups are wide, but with a decent amount of projection. I wish bikinis had multiple hooks in the back like a regular bra. Oh well.
for now I wear 28HH or 28J and It fits, but It gave me a weird shape so which means it does not fit. I have wide set and shallow breast some panache works some just give worst nightmare. It's not the worst but It has a shape to be a best friend. If I wore this into the pool I probably had had to adjust my cup every 30 mins.
Perfect for Round and Projective shape
the meterial are very stretch
still I love it especially I love the band part it give great support! Well done Panache! for strapless swimwear it's fail but as a just normal bikini top with straps it's okay
Simply the wrong size for me. The gore is very tall and hurts my sternum. It may be better in a 30E, but I don't find it comfortable at all. It's fine for lounging in a hot tub, but I wouldn't do any heavy duty swimming in this one.
This is not a very blousy tankini. It fits tight like a bathing suit would although there is ruching on the left side. The bra is in the bathing suit and hooks with 3 hooks instead of a bathing suit type S hook. The straps are thin and stretchy but don't have to support much as the underwire of the bra does that very well. On me, I fill the cup completely and the gore lays flat. It is a bit weird that the suit extends beyond the top of the gore, so it's a nice gentle sweetheart scoop shape but because the gore ends below the ...neckline the suit fabric has to stretch from the gore to the top edge of the suit and when I look down into the suit, I can see the fabric reaching upwards from the gore. It's intended this way, and it looks fine on the outside. I wonder if it will rip at some point.
The suit is very comfortable and I mused with wearing it as a tank top but it's a little too revealing on my aged body for general wear, unless of course, I was going to Walmart. (jk really!) I think though, if a younger woman wanted to, she could easily wear it as a tank top. I do wish it was blousier, but since I have not bought anything Panache yet, I was very pleased it fit so very well.
Now to buckle the bra, I had to pull up the tank part, past the bra in order to reach the straps which felt quit firm, but once I figured out that I had to do that, it was not difficult. It was at this point I could actually see how well it fit me and I had that moment in the mirror where I though what an engineering marvel it was.
I had to chuckle when the tag on care for it said to 'dry away from direct sunlight' after washing and I had to wonder if that had something to do with the fog in England as most bathing suits in my area, are worn in the water and dried in the sun on the beach... But, if it fades, it fades. All suits do fade and this, being bought on sale, is less than I have paid in the past.
As a preface, I'm lucky enough to have never really struggled with finding swimsuit tops that fit decently. I can usually just pick up any S or M size top in a department store and it will fit. So I'd never felt the need to seek out a bra sized swim top. However, I found this one at a great price and couldn't resist.
I really like this top! The band is firm and supportive. I feel like there are fit issues that I can't quite put my finger on though. I think maybe the cups are too tall. It feels like there is empty space at the tops. ...Or I don't think I completely fill out the cups. I'm not sure it sits in the right place. The fabric at the bottom of the cups wrinkles when the top is both on and off, so I'm not sure if it's me or the construction of the top. These issues are all minor to me and I think it looks good and is comfortable. I don't swim often and I got it as a good deal so I'm quite happy. https://d28qt14g3opchh.cloudfront.net/smileys/icon_smile.gif" alt=":)" />
My biggest complaint is that the matching bottoms seem to be seriously vanity sized. I own the XS pair and they fit my ~38" hips perfectly. I would usually go for a M size bottom. I usually wear at least a 5 or 6 in pants!! I'm not XS haha. It sucks that smaller ladies than me might not get to have this set because the bottoms are made to be so big. Read more 161 more words
So much prettier in the G cup. The seams stand out on the GG. It comes back so sharply on the top, that it cuts into my tall rooted boobs, giving a quadboob look, although everything else fits. Otherwise its the standard Panache fit: Too wide of a gore for my close-set boobs, too tall of a gore, and makes everything go very east-west. I've been wearing it strapless because the straps are so wide-set that the little metal hooks hurt horribly. Holds up pretty well!
I fell in love with the blue colorway of this swim top and had to have it, albeit a few months too late. As such, I settled on a 32GG (I normally wear a 30GG). While the band is fine and I can fill the cups without any gapping, the gore sits a bit high. I don't notice this until I try to swim laps. So this is more of a lounging swim suit for me!
I normally wear a 30GG, but had to go up one cup size and one band size in this style. Doing that makes for a great fit. I feel very secure, but I don't wear this top too as often as my other bikini tops because it is a lot of material and difficult to get on and off.
I must say I'm a sucker for nautical patterns. Ordered this set online and kept it when I should have returned it, really. I kept saying to myself that with alteration the top would be wearable. Since then it's become clear that the cups are on the small side and the needle and thread thing isn't meant for me... Absolutely amazing pattern and colours, material soft to touch with firm elastic in the band. Band is true to size, maybe on the comfy side - not too tight. Cups turned out to be too shallow and wide apart for me. Maybe sizing up and sewing in the bottom of ...the centre gore would do the trick. Straps are fully adjustable and not very elastic. The top is completely mesh lined - airy thin lining. I got the bikini shorts in size XS - front lined and offer ample coverage, I'd say it is more of a size S. All in all the set is comfortable enough, no scratching, squeezing, poking or anything like that. I am really in love with this pattern... Read more 72 more words
This bra is too small and ill fitting for me to even properly scoop and swoop. I think it's good for even-FOB shapes with short roots and a fair amount of projection. The quality is stunning though, absolutely beautiful and I wish I could make this swimsuit top work for me.
This is a swan hook bra, with only one large hook on each side. The band on this bra runs close to full size small. It was so tight I couldn't even put it on.
I think perhaps a 32JJ or 32K would fit better volume-wise, but the wires feel so wide on this that going up one or two cups seems like it would make the wideness worse.
Anyway, the swimsuit is very attractive. I wanted a one piece for casual swimming at the gym rather than a bikini. The pattern is very pretty and the body of the suit fits pretty well. The bottom cuts in to my butt a little bit, but that might be more of the style and I'm used to more boy-short type bottoms on my bikinis.
The wires feel so wide on this. Wider than most of my ...other Panache bras and feels also wider than my other two Panache bikinis. I had a very difficult time getting the underwires to sit correctly with my inframammary fold. Once I tightened the straps substantially the wires came close to being properly seated but still too low. I think it might just be an issue with the length of my torso and the suit maybe being a few centimeters shorter than how I would need it.
Otherwise, it feels pretty supportive. I went out right away and got in the pool at my condo to try how it fits wet vs dry. Everything stayed in the cups, even though the cups weren't perfectly suited for me. I think for light swimming it will work out. Read more 124 more words
Cups are too small, just ordered the 32GG. I think the band felt tight because the cups were too small, once I have the right cup size, the band should be better. Gore is wide. Otherwise I absolutely love it!
i wear a 28D and am moderately: shallow, conical, wide. even fullness, average set. elegant, beautiful product. although this top is a size too big for me, i can comment that the shape is of average projection - which is too projected for me. wires were fine, gore was fine on my body. all in all a very typical panache cut.
