I bought the swimsuit to replace my 32FF - Panache Swimwear » Holly Bandeau Bikini (SW0623), as I loved the cut and construction of it. The Tallulah didn't work for me at all. The largest problem I had with it was the shallowness of its cups. I need a LOT more projection than it gave, and if I were to try it out again in the same back size I'd definitely go for a 30H. But I won't.
Even though Bratabase lists the Tallulah and the Holly as having the same cut, it's very clear from the construction and fit of both that that's not true, ...at least as far as GG+ cups. My Holly has a simple, single seam cup construction that has proven to be a flattering fit on me, despite its shallow cups. The Tallulah Bandeau in 30GG has a totally different cup construction, with a 3-part interior and inner side-sling. From the front, the 30GG Tallulah has two seams in the fabric covering, whereas all of the photos of the suit online (likely in sub-GG cup sizes) show a single seam. These extreme difference may be due to Panache's ill-advised decision to modify the band of GG+ cups in this model to the swan-back design. I have a distinct feeling that though the swan back was the only advertised difference between GG+ cups and the rest of the range, there were a great many more.
Though the sparse online reviews of the swimsuit described the swan back as a horrible mistake, with people requiring a second set of hands to wrestle their way into the suit, I definitely didn't have that issue. It may be because I'm a spry young thing, or because I do yoga, or because I did it up in the front. I actually had a slightly harder time getting it off than on, due to the security of the clasp style. The entire design, from the swan back to the straps, is very secure. I doubt that this thing has any risk of being swept away by ocean waves, intense swimming, or anything combination thereof.
Though I'm really not into the swan back, as I found it to be irrational from both a support and user design standpoint, at least in 30GG, the swan back does look nice from the back, with a nice, overlapping chevron effect. Read more 286 more words
The wires were ridiculously wide, reaching around to my back. The straps were placed accordingly. When I put my shoulders as far back as possible, it was still cutting in, in my armpit. The ruched detail was perfect for a maternity swimsuit!
This bikini top is absolutely stunning! I bought this on sale and it only had a 32G, not my regular 30GG. The best thing I love about this bikini top is the double hooks it has! The band was still a little loose and I only wore it a couple times, and only for a few hours at a time. It gives you a great feeling, it gives a lot of support and I don't have to worry about the band coming undone. It's also pretty cool how you can decide if you want straps or not (but I personally don't have enough boob mass to fill the cups enough that I would feel comfortable wearing it without the straps). Other than that it is really great and very comfy to wear.
Quickie initial impression: Fits. Almost. Front over boobs is a bit snug. Front over belly is a bit snug. Back is still too long. Bottoms actually almost fit me, too. If I lose about 5-10 more pounds, I think it will be perfect.
Fun pattern, high-end looking, durable feeling material, just a little too shallow for my shape. I like the detachable strap you can add for extra security if you know you're going to be running around a lot on the beach, but it feels pretty sturdy without them as well.
I ordered this tankini in 30E because 28F (or 28FF, my usual Panache size) was not available or they don´t make it. I have found that in swimwear 30 band is usually tight enough.
The tankini is okay, fits okay and all, but it is very difficult to put on and to take off! (plus some additional complaints, see further...). You have to pull your hands, head and shoulders through it which means you have to stretch it to the maximum. I wish the tankini had a "hole" in the back, like the Isobel or Veronica swimsuits do, it would make it much easier to put it on. The ...wires are in the way when dressing this on and off. But if one makes it (imagine taking it off while wet... horror), it is a nice looking tankini. If one has hips small enough maybe you could pull it on from there but I have absolutely no chance of doing it.
Straps adjust all the way and they are removable in the back which means you can fasten them racer back. I did have some difficulties with straps staying put, they tended to come off by themselves while putting the tankini on... so beware.
The cup-part which is underneath the top layer, fits me perfectly. Wires are wide enough and cups the right volume. It closes like a normal bra, 3 x 2 hooks + eyes. The only problem is that if I close it to the tightest hooks, then the upper layer of the tankini cloth wrinkles in the back. Read more 150 more words
My usual size is 28F so I ordered a 30E because it seems they don´t produce 28.
The cups are very small!! They give me huge quadboob, I guess I should size up 2 cup sizes!! I read all reviews I could get before ordering and some said cups run small, some said they run large. In my opinion they run very small!!
Other than that it is a nice looking bikini top. The band is quite snug and I feel it is the right size for me. Straps are removable and adjust all the way.
In my pictures there are dents in the cups, that´s because of the packaging. I´ve read that you can get them away with time but I couldn´t get them off for the picture taking.
I also ordered a matching skirted bottom in UK12. I find it runs "true to size". I usually wear UK12 / EUR M and the bottom fits me perfectly.
Great basic-but-not-too-basic black strapless bikini. Band is great, but the cups are too big, and the wires & strap placements is simply too wide for me. Cups are quite open.
This top doesn't really fit, but it's so cute that I can't pass it on. The band was altered by the previous owner and I thought it would fit more like a 34GG or 32H, but it must run small in the cup. It's also a little wide & shallow, so it has a somewhat flattening effect. I know, it doesn't sound attractive. But it is a cute set, and my standards for fit are much more flexible on swimwear than for undergarments. It doesn't have some of the higher-end construction details that I've grown accustomed to (i.e. inner slings, lining, vertical seaming, fancier hardware, etc.), but it seems sturdily made.
This bra sort of reminds me like my marraige: it took me completely by surprise. I had no expectations and I wasn't looking for anything, it just came my way https://d28qt14g3opchh.cloudfront.net/smileys/icon_smile.gif" alt=":)" /> I was doing some good, old-fashioned, Bratabase swapping and took a chance on this top thinking that it might be too big everywhere. However, the band is great since I don't like my swimwear as tight as I like my bras, and this one has a "swan" back in the GG & up cup sizes. It's a sort of wrap instead of a regular hook-back. It is AHmazing! So comfy ...and minimizing of the back's squishier bits. It actually looks & supports great without straps. Just wow. The cups are a size too large. I could wear it because the fabric is stiff enough and structurally supported well enough to mask the overage, but it simply covers too much of my chest. If I were taller, I wouldn't care. I could probably go down to a G, but then I'd lose the swan band. If I can't find a swap, I will alter this because: It is SO STINKIN' CUTE! The pattern and style come alive in real life: classy yet vibrant and so versatile. Also, I think/hope a tailor/seamstress could fold and stitch the bottom/outside edge of the cup around the underwire. This would (in my mind) reduce the height of the top as well as the depth - and might pull in the wires just a little, too. The materials and construction are top-notch. The cups are lightly lined, 3-part seamed and have an inner sling for support. The wings are mesh-lined and contain covered plastic stays for additional support. The hardware is color-matched metal. It comes with optional, fully adjustable straps. Read more 202 more words
i really like this swim top. it lifts well and i can jump up and down in it without any shifting. the color is really nice too. the only bad thing is that one of the tabs for the straps broke but i was planning to wear it strapless anyway
I got this 30F because in 30E I had quadboob. In 30F I have some wrinkles in the center area of cups, the shape is not ideal for me. The top part of cups is quite okay, doesn´t really cut in.
The band is very snug, in bras I need 28 but in this 30 is almost too tight. There is a clasp behind, so no options for wearing it looser. The band doesn´t stretch much.
The straps are fully adjustable.
EDIT. The cups don´t fit very well. I think the wires might be a tad too wide for me. I tend to get some wrinkling at the bottom of the cups and it is hard to hoik the bra more up. Somehow the cups just collapse. The shape is not obviously good for me.
Dry, this fits tighter and smaller than a 30F - would probably say it fits close to a 28F, but would also fit 28FF due to how the "gore" is shaped. The wires are kind of wide for me, but that's been standard so far. Wet, I'd assume it fits less tight and the cups would feel slightly larger, so maybe a snug 30F.
Okay, so I had a post written up about how this bra will not fit anyone ever, but I nix it. I've apparently been testing my swimsuits all wrong.
You need water.
To be more specific, most swimwear is designed to stretch not as much as regular clothes when exposed to water, but still does to a small degree. So your best test for fit will be when it's a bit wet (unless you don't plan on going near water at all in this swimwuit, or don't plan on going in water a lot). When it's not wet, the wires are super wide, the band is tight, and the cups ...are much too small and low cut. When it's wet, the wires are still wide, but less so because the band is less tight (though, this still runs like a very firm 28 band, or loose 26) and the cups are about a right fit. Ideally, this is closer to a 26G than a 28FF I think, but also depends on preferences of the wearer. I think I'll keep this one now, though that might change again in the future. I haven't worn this in the water, but the 30E Panache Seychelles Tankini fits well on dry land. It's a halterneck, which I like. The colors are pretty but subtle enough to be flattering if you want to minimize your tummy. The patterned swimsuit material lies over a black mesh underwired bra. The bra's center gore height is hard to determine but seems quite low, much like a plunge bra's. This makes for a more comfortable experience if you're close-set like me. The patterned swimsuit fabric is ruched at the center gore area and comes up much higher than the wires. There is a drawstring at the center gore area so you can adjust the height of the cleavage coverage up or down.
Adorable Bandeau tankini. I love that you can do regular straps or cross in back or strapless. Love the ruching on the sides- more figure flattering. And you can use this to make the sides longer or shorter. Because it is bandeau style, I imagine that FOT lafies could have trouble with quad boob, but that is kinda what bandeaus do and some like that look. Center gore is very tall, but I like that it helps keep everything in place and let's you be modest and sexy at the same time.
I love this print and style, but unfortunately the pattern ...accentuates my under band muffin top. I sister sized up so it would be roomier around my hips (48") which worked well except that the band seems to run big, so while I can survive in a Cleo 38, this was WAY too loose for me. Even with the loose band I had that dreaded under and pudge. More time at the gym is needed. The wires measured not too wide, but when I was trying it on they were too wide.
On the whole this tankini works fairly well for an hourglass (45-34-48), just didn't quite work for me. It is more roomy in the hips than the Freya fever tankini or the @panache Anna tankini. I tried out the cute skirted bottoms...while they do hide any upper thigh problems, with the tankini and all the pattern it looked like a trashy minidress , not the look I was shooting for. I likes it better with black bottoms to break up the pattern.
Strap width is .6, btw- measures didn't ask. Read more 179 more words
This has an interesting design; it's like a bra sewn in. True to size, could accommodate bigger. Fits my 30G-GG self in the cups/band, I just don't like how it fits the rest of me. Rich, pink-leaning purple more so than the blue-leaning in the promo pics. Feels super high-quality.
