the straps are longer (too long) and the cups feel roomier than the older pink version. I can actually do up the top clasp in the back on the tightest hook, which is physically impossible on the pink. I'd say the fit in the band is similarly tight but the cups are more true to size, and therefore less supportive for me. I get more bounce in this than I do in the 28DD Panache Sport. Still usable for sure, but the older pink one I bought secondhand off Bratabase is a much better fit and more effective boob clamp.
I think the newer white version is more true to size but I don't know if that's because of inconsistent sizing between different colourways or if they updated the fit to be less tight.
Interestingly, the fabric composition is different. The pink one is a 62% polyester, 32% polyamide, 6% spandex blend while the white one is 45/44/11. As in, the white version contains twice as much spandex and is noticeably stretchier :/
ordered this not reading reviews. Ordered a 30HH thinking it would fit like a regular bra. Was missing at least 4 inches in band to close. Come to find out Shock Absorber run small and to top it off I needed a bigger band size to begin with. Nice bra if it would fit me
This bra provides no separation and a lumpy shape, BUT I wear it to hot yoga, where it performs perfectly. I wish it was a little higher cut, as I get some serious cleavage in certain poses. I don't like this bra for running, as I still get a lot of movement, but for low impact exercise it works fine.
This is probably my favorite sports bra I've ever tried on. It's fairly comfortable (maybe not the comfiest thing ever though that's probably at least partially due to the fact that it doesn't fit me anymore), but it is amazing at holding everything in place. It is basically an underwired compression bra and is great for high impact activities (I can run in it and be fine). Some people say that it runs small in the band, and I generally wear a 32 so this is probably accurate.
Band started out almost too tight to close, making me glad I ordered a size up. However, after about 4 workouts (and no washes. Don't judge, haha), it's almost ready for the second hook. Perfect for shark week workouts, but I'll probably order a size down in both band and cup for the rest of the month. (I.E.: 32D (almost too big) = 30DD, so I think I'll try a 30D)
Edit: A month later and I'm on the third hook. Time to size down.
This is the 3-toned pink colorway. Although it fit, I never wore it because just putting it on and taking it off was a workout. It's not ugly for a sports bra. It did an adequate job at squishing my boobs together and to my chest for moderate activities. I liked the 2 sets of hooks that allowed me to adjust to my particular chest.
Super tight band actually feels great, but the straps don't adjust short enough. I may need to go down a size, as there is some odd wrinkling of the "cup" seams, but everything feels secure without chafing. This is a "wear it a couple times before I decide" kind of thing.
This one snuck in without getting measured so I've had it for awhile. It's supposed to be the same size as my other 28FF Shock Absorber, but this one feels more true to size (less snug) in the band. It fit better when I was a cup size bigger, but since it has such good band support and it's fully enclosed on top, I'm going to keep wearing it. The straps don't offer much adjustment, so I might attempt to alter them so I can adjust the straps tight enough to take up some of the slack in the cups. Overall it feels pretty good. Colorway is a purple/aqua combination.
The first sports bra I've owned that isn't A) Ugly, B) Uncomfortable, C) Unflattering, or D) All of the Above. It's snug in a good way, minimizing in a surprisingly flattering way, and lives up to the name "Shock Absorber" because my boobs are practically glued into place. Comfortable enough to wear while running around campus all day, snug enough to wear while doing squats at the gym.
This was my first wire-free sports bra, and my first correctly fitting sports bra. It has two sets of hooks, one for the band, and one for the shoulders. I really appreciated this, it enabled me to fine tune the fit of my bra when wearing it.
Based on my current measurements, this is a perfect fit in the band, but because my cup size is a size too large for the bra, I feel like it's very difficult to breathe in it when wearing for a lengthy period of time, even when on the loosest hook. I would purchase this model bra again, albeit in a larger cup size now that my cup size has increased.
This actual works on my wide, shallow, conical breasts. I fill the cup and feel supported. The band is very firm, maybe because it's the black color. Very high cut. Gave me a nice round shape which is surprising since most reviewers seem to have the pointy shape experience.
I LOVE shock absorber sports bras, but this is way too small. I bought it without realizing the size and since it is a few sizes too small I have only warn it once.
For a more detailed review, please see my review of the same bra in 28F, same colour way 28F - Shock Absorber ยป Active Multi Sports (4490) . This bra is slightly bigger in the cup area. It is taller than the 28F and covers a bit more, but the band is the same and runs like a 24. This bra is great for running, it holds everything in place quite well. I have tried Freya Active and Panache sports bra as well, but I will say those do not suit my shallow shape at all, and the cups are hollow but cuts in at the top edge. Perhaps the reason why this bra does not fit many of the larger sizes is because of how flat it is. Definitely consider this if you are on the shallow side.
Originally ordered a 34 band and couldn't close it, even with assistance. 38H is about right in the band but has a bit of armpit spillage. I'd suggest ordering underbust+4 and your regular UK cup.
This bra is supportive for exercise but the neckline sticks out a couple inches above even fairly full coverage tank tops. Most importantly, there's a second closure set about an inch above the band and I can't fasten it on my own. Not great for changing at the gym!
