This bra fits me so comfortably that I really wish it fit me technically. My main issue with it is that it's too shallow for me (surprising no one -- I've got projected boobs and I've yet to wear a half cup with enough projection for me). I didn't realize how bad the problem was initially, partially because this is the only unpadded half-cup I've ever worn. I can make it work at first, but over the course of the day, the cup buckles under the force of my boobs, resulting in an unflattering rounded square shape. This effect was likely exacerbated by the fact that the bra ...was 1-2 cup sizes too small for me. The wires also feel a little tall.
I found the band to be unexpectedly true to size, considering all the conflicting reviews out there for this brand. It's the perfect firmness for me on the loosest setting. Also, the gore tacks amazingly well, even though the cup is at least a size too small for me. I'd buy Tutti Rouge bras again; this is one of the best-scaled ill-fitting bra I've ever bought.
The raised polka-dots on the cup weren't visible under a shirt, unlike Cleo's, but the lace on top of the cups is. If you're a bra MacGuyver, you can probably remove it, but the polkadot layer and lace applique are part of the same sheet of mesh.
It's not often when a bra arrives that I get the butterflies I had on seeing the pics - but this set really does look phenomenal. The purple is much duskier than it looks in some of the promo pics - which is great. There is pink lace on the top of each cup, and pink edging underneath each boob framing each cup. There is a leopard print bow in the centre - I usually hate and actively avoid any animal print but actually this goes quite well with the style and colours of the set.
Coordinates include a brazilian knicker which I had to size up ...to a large in, and a short which fitted fine in medium (albeit with a fairly low rise).
This is a non padded bra with a three part cup construction. The website calls it 'semi-sheer' which I guess is true - in that the bottom section is not sheer, and the top part is. The bottom section (made up of two parts) is two layers of laminate non-stretch material. The top section is also non-stretch.
The band is loose - in fact, I'm thinking I may need to start on the middle hook - so some people may want to size down. The wires are medium to slightly wider than average - just about ok for me but I wouldn't want them to be any narrower personally. They are no where near as wide as Liliana (my Eliza review will be up within the next few days hopefully so if superwide wires are what floats your breasts/boat then keep an eye out for that!). The shape is definitely best for someone who has more immediate projection than me, and I believe would be compatible for those who are full on top. I am fairly shallow and full on the bottom, but with enough swooping and scooping, and adjustment of the straps, I can still get a pretty good fit. It's not my perfect bra fit wise - but it's so beautiful and makes me feel so great it's worth it.
I would say this bra is a very similar construction/fit to Panache's Jasmine (although I take one size down (30DD) from my usual in Jasmine) - so if that works for you I'd recommend Nichole in at least one cup up from Jasmine size and possibly a band down depending on how tight you like your bras to fit. The main differences are the top section in this is not stretchy though, so I think Nichole is less accommodating for those who are FOT, and especially for those with tall roots - you can see that it seems a bit like a mismatch between my top tissue and the bra, as although I'm shallow with little on top I think my tissue is still taller than this bra ideally wants . As above, I have some slight wrinkling on the top section on my smaller boob but it doesn't cause issues with comfort or support so I am not bothered by this.
Comfort
It is with a sad heart that I have to say this bra was very painful for me to wear. Foolishly I took it on holiday recently (got back last night and have never been more pleased to wear a wireless bralette today) without having worn it first as I so rarely have any major fit problems, especially with regards to the gore. I wore it on the middle hook and after a few hours had the most stabby, excruciating gore poking. I had to stuff tissue down the front of the bra to stop it cutting into my skin. I wore it 2 days later on the loosest hook, thinking this may help, and although it was better it was still very painful. I'm going to measure it for Bratabase - I'm thinking the gore must be a bad height/width combination for me that I'll investigate further.
** UPDATE: Measurements now on Bratabase - the gore is wider and taller than I am used to. I think it's actually not the height as I first thought, but the width that is more the issue for me. Be aware that for those with close set breasts, this bra may be your mortal enemy.**
In conclusion, I'm unsure how often I will wear this purely down to how shockingly uncomfortable it was, and the fact that in my heart of hearts I know it's not the best shape for me. I'm going to try and figure out the issue with the gore and see if there's anything I can do to improve the situation, as it really is a lovely bra - good quality with very wearable coordinates. Watch this space!
A really nicely made bra and I like the idea of it, but it was just too wide and shallow for me when I first got it as a 32HH/J. I'm a 30H/HH now anyway so it's way too big, but at the time I quadboobed in it yet there was a lot of fabric on the side. If it was more suited to centre fullness and projected breasts, I'd really like the bra, but it just doesn't work for me and I doubt it would in any size.
November 2015 Update: Band is definitely several inches too long, cups are too shallow and cause quadboob, and yet wires are now too... wide?? Have my breasts become more narrow/projected?? Or has this always been too wide and I didn't know? Hmmmm...
Original Review: Wow. This is the second best fit of any bra I've ever tried on. (The best was a Freya longline bra in 28E that I tried on in a lingerie store. Sadly, the gore dug horribly into my sternum after about 5 seconds so I didn't think the $90 was worth it!) I had to bend around the wires, because they had a weird kink ...in them at the center front, but now they follow my root perfectly! (There was orange-in-a-glass before bending.) Despite how low they are in my underarm, the cups are perfectly shapes for my breasts and don't allow them to slip out the sides. The only problem I have is the band length. According to this site, the 28E would be way too tight, so I ordered a 30DD. I probably could have ordered the 28E and just used an extender. But the straps adjust perfectly, and the bra is super cute! I might have a tiny bit of quad on my left breast, but it's not noticeable. This bra doesn't give much projection under clothing, but it fits my breasts perfectly, shape and size. I have plenty of bras that give me more projection but don't fit properly by the end of the day, so I'm happy!! And despite how high the gore is, it magically doesn't dig in at all!! AHHH, I'm so happy! https://d28qt14g3opchh.cloudfront.net/smileys/icon_razz.gif" alt=":P" /> Sorry the review has no order or organization to it, I just wanted to type this out as fast as possible. https://d28qt14g3opchh.cloudfront.net/smileys/icon_smile.gif" alt=":)" /> Read more 200 more words
This bra is an odd shape. The 28G is way to small for me. So much so that I could actually break the fabric of the cups which have no give at all. The aesthetic design of the bra is stunning but the fit is awkward to say the least. Although I am currently a 28GG I would say that even the double G in this bra would be too small as the bra is wide and shallow. It seems like it is made for large flat pancakes. Not even the Tutti Rouge models seem to fill the bottoms of the shallow cups.
Such a shame because the intricate detail of the bra is beautiful. Tutti Rouge make the most gorgeous bras but they need to refine the fit. If I really wanted to keep this bra I think I'd need the 28H https://d28qt14g3opchh.cloudfront.net/smileys/icon_sad.gif" alt=":(" />
First off, the color of this is fab. I have the cobalt/black one from AW15. It's what prompted me to give this baby another shot, and, in person, it does not disappoint.
On to fit! This is a great bra, though it has a few 'but' things to note:
- If you like super tight bands, this will not work for you. I am between 32 and 34 currently (mostly 34 because turning 30 is a bitch on the metabolism), and I can easily fit it on the tightest hook right away. I wear this on the middle hook, and really only notice it riding up towards the very ...end of the day. Otherwise, it being a bit loose is no biggie. When I wear it for any length of time on the tightest hook, the fabric starts to itch and the wires, particularly the gore, which others have noted, press and hurt something fierce. My take-away from this is this is a bra meant to wear more loose than tight.
- I think it's nearly impossible to fill out the cups entirely on both sides. There is slight wrinkling above the seam on both sides, and is particularly noticeable on my smaller side. But a cup size smaller would definitely quad. I will say, though, that there doesn't appear to be any wrinkling under clothes. The cups are smooth and super round.
- If you don't have projection, look elsewhere. This bra was meant for those needing deep cups.
Other things to note:
- Only 2 hook fastening on G cups, but it's literally the only bra I've worn which I don't mind there only being 2 versus 3 hooks. The band is otherwise very thick, and doesn't cut into the chub at all.
- Very narrow wires for a UK brand. Those who like Polish brands would benefit from it.
- Accommodating to FoT tissue, and doesn't cut in at all.
- I WANT THEM ALL!
So long as you're ok with all these things, this bra is a must try.
I want this bra so much. I wish they were more accessible to the states.
Shipping to the US is ridiculously expensive, but it only took a week to get to VA (ordered late on a Friday, got it following Monday). They have sales fairly often with 15-20% off, and occasionally offer free shipping. They don't advertise them well, though, so make sure you hound their FB and Insta pages for codes!
I ordered this from Brastop, but since I was so used to ordering from Ewa Michalak, I forgot that in most places, a DD is the same as an E! It's a full cup too big for me, so I can't give the cups too much of a review. Stretched to its max, the band is a good 28.5 inches, so it fits true to size. Compared to my Ewa Elegance, though, it's a little more stretchier. Nice and comfortable.
I have been favouring moulded smooth t-shirt bras since finding my correct size, so the Liliana is not something that fits into the usual type of bra I buy. Tutti suggested I sized up in the cup from my normal 30DD size, and although I was a tad hesitant initially, I'm glad I did.
The band seems to run fairly true to size despite people saying they run small. If anything I'd say the Liliana is quite loose as I think it's very comparable to my Freya 30 bands which I've gathered are larger than average. However i'm starting on the loosest hook and no doubt will move onto ...the middle after a few wears like I have with my Freya ones.
Cups fit me very well, definitely nice and wide and shallow, perfect for the shape of my boobs! Straps are fully adjustable which is BRILLIANT - I was sad that a Birds of A Feather bra I tried earlier on in the year had to go back due to it's half adjustable straps being ridiculously long for me!
This new season purple and black colour is nice, still quite bright. The black isn't that visible from the front. The matching shorts and brazilian are both lovely - better than I was expecting. The fit is quite generous - given I am a size 10-12 and ordered medium which are fairly roomy and that there are many ladies with much slimmer bums and legs than me I'm surprised that they don't do an extra small as well as small. One of the nicest knickers (ie not shorts!) I've tried as they're not restrictive around legs or bum cheeks and don't cut in to muffin top area at all either!
As we're heading into winter now I've realised I really don't need a moulded seam free bra all the time - under jumpers and loose fitting clothes I can easily get away with this type of bra and have really enjoyed trying and wearing something that's a bit different (for me!). It is so pretty! I love the colour and the details, like the cute bow at the gore with flowers on it. The fit is okay for me, I wanted another unpadded bra for summer, and I think it will do great in hot weather. The band is not quite as tight as I would wish, a bit loose for a 30, but the place where I bought it doesn’t stock the bra in 28-bands. So I need to start on the middle hooks, and fingers crossed that it won’t stretch out a lot. But I think sizing down in this model is a good idea if you prefer tighter ...bands. The cups are a good fit, they are quite deep, and maybe that’s why they wrinkle slightly at the top. But I am also FOB and don’t have a lot of tissue at the top. The gore tacks tight but comfortably (I've read in reviews, that it tacks painfully, thankfully that's not the case with me!) Straps are a bit wide-set for my liking, but that is a problem I have with a lot of bras.
Betty abounds with feminine and flirty details - the lacy frill along the bottom of the band and top of the cup, the creamy silk with poppies in pink and pale blue (the fabric extends up the straps for a charming peek-a-boo), the 3 gathering gores at the base, and of course the signature heart-shaped strap adjusters. Tutti Rouge quality is fully expressed in this bra. The padding is thin enough to flex but enough to hide those nips, the lining is oh-so-soft cotton, the gore narrow, the wings low and she is luxuriously comfortable. She has a very retro, pin-up look that on the right person would ...be devastating! Unfortunately, that person is not me. The band is verrrry stretchy (tightest hook for me) and the wires are just too wide, flattening my close-set girls and pushing them outwards. The shape seems to be a hybrid half cup/balcony, both of which usually work for me but Betty is also shallow and I am projected so I quadboob - it's just a complete shape mis-match. I think Betty would be adorable for someone with wide and shallow roots, possibly low set. I also think this 32 would fit a 34. I am sad because Betty is such a sweetheart! Read more 102 more words
Runs small in cups! I have a Cleo Lily in 28GG that fits well (almost big), and this cup gives me quad boob. Although the band feels good! The quality seems good and it's pretty. https://d28qt14g3opchh.cloudfront.net/smileys/icon_smile.gif" alt=":)" /> I really like that the straps are thinner than any of the other bras I have.
I wouldn't say it runs small in the cups. It's very wide and shallow. It's a very different shape than your Lily, which is fairly narrow and projected. That could be causing the quad boob.
oh, thanks for pointing that out! that could definitely be it.
I'm not sure how I feel about this one... It's very pretty, and the bow isn't too offensive to me for some reason. I love the colors. It does feel a little flimsy/ like I might damage it putting it on, though.
First, the band is crazy-tight compared to most 28s I've tried. I probably need an extender to add an extra hook until it stretches a bit. The wires are fine now that I bent them to follow my ribcage, maybe slightly too wide, but not uncomfortable because of it. The straps are weirdly short and stretchy, and extremely wide set, even for my very-broad-for-my-frame shoulders, but I ...think I can make them work.
The cups are what I'm not sure about. They almost seem too small/ there is some weird horizontal creasing going on with the vertical seams, and they don't seem to want to stay put. This is also the very first properly sized bra I've ever tried that cuts in on the top seams at all I just don't know... I did read in a couple places that this bra is a weird/ tricky fit. I may try some non-permanent alterations before I decide whether or not to keep it. Read more 95 more words
I bought this bra shortly after I first heard about Tutti Rouge. I had read copious reviews and loved the little details on their designs. This Liliana was in my favorite color (which is sadly not sold any longer), so I was especially excited to get it. Before I bought it I contacted the company about the fit and they were very helpful. They said that the cup on this style ran a bit small so even though they're UK sized to still go with an F. I was so happy when I got it!! It fit really well, my only complaint was that the styling of the lace at the top of the cup didn't work completely with my type of breasts; since that part is lace they pushed out a little more there but it didn't show under a shirt. I have worn this bra nearly constantly. It's probably nearing the end of it's life cycle, especially since I've dropped a band size, but I look forward to trying new Tutti Rouge styles.
Very pretty bra. I have a 27.5" UB but usually find 30E more comfortable. This 28 fits well, but cup runs big. I sized down from my usual 28F on Tutti email customer service advice. They were right. This one fits well. Not sure if all Tutti runs like this. Not as lifted and projected as my Cleo bras, but still nice.
What a pretty bra. It is also, however, HUGE. I almost always fit perfectly into a 30E. This is large in band and cup. I am not sure if I should go with 28F or even 28E. Very disappointed after a long wait for its arrival. I will exchange it, though, as it is really lovely and I think once I find the right size it will be a favorite.
ETA: Tutti Rouge email support was great. They recommended 28E based on my measurements (I never wear 28E, 28F or 30E usually works) and I went with it. It fits pretty well, even ever so slightly big in the cup, so Tutti Rouge Nichole Bra runs big in the cup.
It was a bit wide in the cups for me, it's gorgeous and high quality, really soft. If it works for you then congrats because its really just bloody gorgeous! Fits more like a 26H than 28GG
Tutti Rouge absolutely KILLS IT on the details of this bra. Heart-shaped strap adjusters, patterned stretch lace overlay, perfect little bow and ribbon, and a reminder to "carpe diem" on the tag.
My best fit is Cleo Marcie Balconnet Bra (6831) in 28E. Liliana in 28E had a nice snug band, a beautiful thing for a small 28-band like me. I think the cups would work for a similar shape as Marcie.
The dealbreaker: the wires were too wide for me. Because I have a small frame, this caused the cups to wrap around toward my back and the straps to cut into my armpits uncomfortably.
I would highly recommend this bra if too-wide wires don't bother you or if Marcie's wires are too narrow for you.
I was in denial about this bra for some time. Just didn't want too see the quads because of how pretty the Frankie is. The colour, the little details... they just awaken the teenager in me. https://d28qt14g3opchh.cloudfront.net/smileys/icon_smile.gif" alt=":)" /> Will be difficult to part with this baby.
I love almost everything about this bra. I do think that it's intended for a shallower, wider 30E. I'm finding that I'm more compatible with narrow wires and more projected cups, but I'm feeling like it's almost impossible to find those. With that said, I think a perfect bra for me would be like 7.5" wires and 9.3" ish depth. That's fairly unrealistic and I think it'd make for an unpleasant shape.
I like the shape this gives me. It's a bit less projected, and makes my shape look fairly even or more FoT if anything, but it's rounded so it's not that annoying sad 7 look. Speaking of which, I ...think this bra is good for FoT to even shapes. The top mesh part is actually one of my favorite features of this bra, but I saw a lot of other reviews saying the opposite. Without the mesh, my boobs wouldn't fit the cups as well.
It fits pretty perfectly depth wise, the wires being so wide. The band isn't very firm, but it's firm enough. I have a 30" ribcage, and for me I would ideally wear this on the second set of hooks, because when I scoop it doesn't really stay put with the first set. Also, the straps are pretty wide set. I have fairly wide shoulders (bigger than my hips) but the straps are still pretty wide set. They stay put when I place them closer towards my neck, but that makes the cups gape. Not a deal breaker, but just a warning for anyone considering purchasing this model.
Appearance wise, I love absolutely everything about this bra. Tutti Rouge designs are my favorite. I wish stores here sold the brand.
All in all, not a 100% right fit for me, but it's about as close as my Freya Longline which is currently my best fitting bra. Tldr: If you have FoT to even, shallow (or MAYBE semi/ projected??)boobs, and wide roots, this bra should be a good match. Read more 220 more words
In a sucker for purple bras! Unfortunately, this bra is not only the won't shape for me, but also to small in the cups or maybe just too shallow. Either way, it's not a great fit and it's too bad because it feels like a good quality bra and is very very pretty!
Hi, someone has voted down on my review - can you tell me why please? Thanks :-)
