  1. Embrace Lace Underwire T-shirt Bra (853191)

I can't believe I've waited so long to try this one! I'm more of a 30E but I find this 30DD to be a good fit - I think a 30DDD would be too big. I bought it used but the band is still tighter than expected. I was expecting the worst after my last B.Tempt'd Wacoal bra!

The beige color is one of the lightest beige bras I've owned - I'm not sure if that's a good thing for me, but it might help someone. It's much lighter than my Natori Feathers beige bra.

The cups are soft but thin - I've been on an unlined bra and bralette kick, so honestly it feels a little thick to me, but it will be nice to have something with more padding.

Tried this in a 32 DD and the cups were big so I am in a 32D now and it kind of feels the same even though it measures smaller. The wing is taller then the 32DD by half an inch too. The lace is soft and smooth under knit shirts. I think I'm just not full enough on top. I'd still place this at the top of best fitting next to the Gossard Glossies bra. I like how this bra is softer then the Glossies.

I bought Wacoal in a 32 band when I was a 30 band, after finding their bands run small. I went for a 32C (32:3), as my true size according to the ABraThatFits Reddit calculator was 30D-DD (30:4, 30:5). That calculator, as well as this one, now places me at a 32DD-E (32:5, 32:6). This was / is my every day bra, however the cup shape is shallow. I recently learned I am actually projected (90° lean test) - horizontal perimeter is about 7.75" but I appear pretty flat and Full on Bottom when standing. My breast relative ... to my nipple is technically VERY slightly Full on Top. So pretty much "even" from top to bottom of the breast. It's important to know the shape of your roots (both vertically and horizontally), which you can find out through the lean test. I believe myself to have tall, narrow roots, with some distance in the middle (maybe a bit more than average?). My BREASTS are wide though, when unsupported. I've been buying wide shallow bras when I should probably be buying narrow projected bras. It fits mostly okay, the first time I scoop & swoop I have some quadding on the bigger side (left). That boob is maybe half a cup size bigger than the right? But as time passes, it turns into gapping at the top. Not so bad you can see nipple when leaning, which was a problem that plagued me in my teen years (buying 32A-34B T-shirt bras). The cup of this bra is a bit open on top for me, I think. My breasts are also short from top to bottom, I prefer a cup height of 5" - 5.6" so that my breasts aren't fully enclosed, but I also believe a taller cup will lead to strap gap and regular gapping. I think my breasts are kind of pushing the bra away and also spreading out inside them, leading the underwire to sit on breast tissue. My breasts have extremely soft tissue so they kind of go into whatever shape they're pushed into, which is why I thought this one fit. (Edited -previously measured horizontal perimeter as 9", but I'm more between 7.5" - 8". Could have had some swelling that day, or misinterpreted the measuring directions. It may be helpful to measure during different points in your cycle to see if you'll need a different size for water retention / swelling, and also measure several times for accuracy.)

I really desperately want this bra to work for me, because there are so many things I love about it. It’s so comfortable. It’s got good immediate projection. The wires are nice and narrow (5 inches at this size). I love the 3 hooks. The straps are set close together. I love the shape it gives me. I think it’s cute, too.

Alas, it’s just too tall for me. On my larger side, it works fine, I think because I have soft-ish tissue that ultimately kind of gets pushed up into that area. But on my smaller side, there’s an empty pocket at the top that’s honestly not a ... big deal when I’m standing straight. It’s too evident to me when I start to move around, though.

I wore it for a while in 30DD, and the cups are too small. I’m debating pulling that size out and trying it again, anyway, because it’s just so dang comfortable. (Edited: I tried it. It’s just too small.) I tried 30DDD a while back, and the band was oddly tight (like, it was weird how small the band was), which is why I tried the 32DD, instead.

I usually wear the Panache Cari in 32DD, which works fine. It’s just not nearly as comfortable as this bra. https://d28qt14g3opchh.cloudfront.net/smileys/icon_sad.gif" alt=":(" />

I originally owned this bra in a 32DDD, full review here: http://bra.pe/XZVe/

This bra doesn’t provide the best technical fit, but it is comfy! I choose this bra on days I just don’t want to wear a bra, but need more than a lounge bra. The center gore is very high for me and doesn’t come close to touching at the top of bottom. Since it doesn’t bother me, I’m ok with it. Again this is strictly a comfort bra for me. This gives a very nice rounded, seamless shape. Since the straps are further in towards the neck it works pretty good under certain cuts of tank tops. The back band is definitely on the stretchy side as you can see my squish on the back pic, with the lower elastic visibly digging in. While you can see it, I can’t feel it. This is a 32 band, but I say it runs small for 32 and great for someone between a 30 and 32.

  6. Awareness Full Figure Seamless (85567)

This bra is a great comfortable bra with wide padded straps, full coverage, so there is no spilling out. The band is wide and comfortable and soft. Unlined, which means no moulded cups.
The bra size was true to the first recommended-size of the Brand, from this website and from all of the measurements done correctly with knowledge of breast root.
The band is tight but I have no complaints because that's what gives the lift. It doesn't interfere with my breathing, I do not notice it but I'm sure people will and I only edited this review to let you know this fact after reading the other reviews. I didn't even think to put it.

I really really want this to work. I’ve been looking for a lightweight, no bells or whistles bra for a while. The straps on this are fabulous and comfortable. They sit closer in so they don’t slip, but unlike the Wacoal Basic Beauty, this bra back sits like a typical bra. Everything on this bra is perfect for me except for one thing. The underwires. Instead of being U shaped they are C shaped. They seem to curve out rather round like at the bottom but come back up and in on the sides. So there is some orange in a class happening in a small section at the outer bottom. This is actually uncomfortable because I’m aware of it and feel it. Really debating if I want to keep this or not and try to swap out wires. So so so close. As far as minimizing, it gives me a very round contained look.

  8. Sport Underwire Bra (855170)

To think I wouldn’t feel “comfortable” in a sports bra. Boy was I wrong. This sports bra oozes comfort for me. The band is on the short side and fits more like a 30. No complaints here since a 30 is my ideal fit currently. With the underwires on the outside of the sports bra, the inside is protected by the lining. No chafing or rubbing. It gives a locked and loaded feel without the bulk. Compared to my Panache underwire sports bra, which feels like a Viking chest plate, this is just easy to wear. Gives a wonderful lifted round shape. Love the four bra hook and eye closure. So easy to get off when you’re sweaty.

This review is for the color "Deep Taupe". It goes without saying the Basic Beauty is my favorite. And what do we do when we love something? We buy it in ALL the colors. This color is almost like a light chocolate brown color. I do have to say this particular bra runs short in the band, even shorter than the black one I have. But when it is on it fits just the same as all the rest. I feel nothing but comfort in this bra. I can wear it all day and evening and not have any issues. I feel contained in the cup and have no worries of falling out or any need to adjust after bending over and bending down all day (I have a 9 month old, so we all know how that goes). As always the straps are perfect for narrow shoulders and don't slip off or need to be readjusted at all. This is also the only bra I've found that works under the straps of a tanktop!.

  10. Embrace Lace Underwire (65191)

This bra is absolutely beautiful. I love love love the color combination. It’s lavender color with mint green embroidery. Definitely eye catching. While it does fit, it’s not my personal ideal shape under clothing. I much prefer a rounded shape. This defiantly gives me a pointy retro shape if you would. Much how I imagine my grandmother would look back in the day lol. While the embroidery is beautiful it gives a lumpy appearance under shirts, again not my thing. But it is comfortable and I can see myself wear No this in winter under heavy fabrics where it won’t be so noticeable. The band is on the small side for a 32. It fits much more like a 30 band, but that’s to my advantage since I’m more of a 30 than a 32. Overall it’s beautiful and I’m glad I have this one, but I wouldn’t purchase anymore due to the pointy texture it gives.

This "Basic Benefits" seems almost identical to the Wacoal Basic Beauty (#853192), Contour with spacer cups. The only difference I see is this gore is taller and narrower at the bottom, (3.4" tall, .9" wide at the top, 1.75" wide at the bottom.) It sat way too high on my center closeness.
This one has a single layer band with flocked elastic edges. It has 3 rows of 4 hooks, which I thought was very unusual; I have not seen that in this size except in strapless.
Tall, full cup design. (Doesn't fit my short frame well at all.) There is an inner sling ... along the outer edges of the cups. Spacer fabric gives good support and a rounded shape. Breathable for summer. My past experience with spacer fabric has left something to be desired as far as support is concerned, but this one is the exception. Maybe that's because the front straps are centered closer above the apex, rather than being placed near the armpits. Maybe it's because of the 4 hook band, or all of the above. Still, spacer fabric is stretchy, so good for varying fullness. Did a fair job of supressing nipples, but definitely not completely hidden, even in warm weather.
The band is short in its' relaxed state, but stretches easily when wearing. Might that be an indicator of a short lifespan?
The color "Love Potion/Lilac Snow" is a bright Fuschia Red with just a bit of pink lace surrounding the cups along the bottom, sides and the base of the front straps. There is no lace on the back band.
The straps are partially adjustable, flocked in the back and attach close to the hooks in a "V" shape. No strap slippage here.

Bottom line: the gore sits on my center-close breast tissue when I stand up, but it falls away (stops tacking) when I lean forward. The full cups are uncomfortable on my short frame. I'd like to find a spacer cup bra that has a low gore but good support. I'm afraid it doesn't exist, since it seems that most of the support in a spacer cup fabric has to come from a tall gore/the wide band.

My first impression of this bra was that it seemed shallow at the wire. When I put it on though I was impressed with how the cup material hugged my shape. It was too big in the top of the cup though, gaping everywhere, wanting more top and center fullness.

This is expected since Wacoal 32DDD doesn't always fit me. 32DD might be worth a try.

It seems so lacy but the materials are really thin and blend together seamlessly (rather than thick lace stitched onto thick mesh)

Very short-waisted, immediately projected, shallow apex projection, somewhat narrow breasts, center full, close set, sensitive skin....

Here It is. The one and only wired bra I wear. Read my profile: you'll understand how special this bra is.

It stayed in my IMF for 7 hours which included 2.5 hours of driving and two hours of volunteer work cleaning rescue animal cages. Literally, this is an unbelievable accomplishment for any bra in my wardrobe.

And, the lift is...well...worth wearing a bra for. Sadly, hundreds of bras have provided virtually no benefit for my breasts. The wires were awfully painful and the shape repulsive. Often I found myself preferring my breasts without ... a bra, but I require a bra for two reasons. First, the weight often causes pain. So, the bra must provide some lift. Second, my prominent, sensitive nipples require shielding. Wacoal La Femme fulfills my two requirements, and is the one wired bra I will wear.

    This is a miraculous bra, for me. Thank you, Anya99 !! I'll adopt your other La Femme https://d28qt14g3opchh.cloudfront.net/smileys/icon_smile.gif" alt=":-)" /> https://d28qt14g3opchh.cloudfront.net/smileys/icon_smile.gif" alt=":-)" />

This bra was first released for sale on Amazon in July 2017, so I was really curious about it and just had to try it.
There are several things I Really like about it, but unfortunately the fit is off for me.

    The PRO's:
Super smooth, amazingly comfortable double layer stretch microfiber (self-lined but unpadded) cups and band; feels wonderful on! The band is also double layer fabric with hidden seams. The cups have a hidden inner sling that you can feel but cannot see; wide at the top and comes down about 2/3rd's of the wire, almost to the gore so it gives support both along the outside ... and underside. Gives a nice rounded profile.
Conforming stretch to accommodate various degrees of fullness.
Seamless cups so there's nothing to detract from your appearance. (The seam between the microfiber and lace doesn't show.)
Gives the support of a full cup bra but because of the stretch lace top looks and wears more like a demi. It does have an elastic strip along the top edge of the lace, just so you'll know.
The wings are tall for outer support, but not so much that they dig in. I found it very comfortable.
The front straps are not cutting into the armpits. Woohoo! Wacoal has finally listened and brought the straps closer to the middle. Don't worry, they're not so close to show under an ordinary shirt.

The CON's: (these are mostly because of shape/fit issues and not necessarily construction/quality issues):
The gore does not appear too wide, but it is too tall for me and definitely sits on breast tissue.
The top of the cups cut in at the elastic edge. Maybe a larger cup would solve that, but if the wire is any wider my breasts would simply spread to under my arms.
The bottom of the cup wrinkles a bit; wasn't horrible, but enough to be annoying. Would probably fit better for someone more shallow & wide than I happen to be. Even so, unless you are Very narrow and Very projected, this bra is quite adaptable.
If dominant headlights are a concern for you, this bra is probably not what you're looking for.

This beauty is definitely worth trying, because if it fits I'm sure you will love it!

I bought this bra in hopes of finding a cute and comfy bra to sleep in. It's a gorgeous bra and I've had really good luck with Wacoal bras in the past. Sadly, this was a complete miss. The bra is sized by the band only (30, 32, 34, 36, etc) so not knowing which cup size range it would fit was a bit of a gamble. Amazon reviews said it ran small, so I bought the 32 (I regularly wear 28F/30E). The band fit well, but the cups were waaaaaay too small. It's a shame because this bra really does have a lot going for it.

Like you, I first purchased the 32. Oops. This 38 fit me better, but the band was too long.

    • I thought about reordering in a larger size and altering it, but it seems like more effort than it’s worth.

    • 1

Giggle. I know what you mean. Sadly, I resorted to creating my own because it was cheaper to upcycle soft t-shirts than pay $40 for a custom model that still didn't fit. And, I am very much an unskilled seamstress. Cringe. My first two, self-made bralette were too small In the cup, too. Sigh. Better luck to you :-)

    • Good job sewing your own! That would be beyond my abilities.

I like this bra. The cups look a bit small and shallow off, but have some give to them. It cuts in slightly up top, but it's passed my wear-all-day tests and stays in my IMF. I don't think it's too minimizing, though I wouldn't mind less coverage. The spacer material is wonderful as always.

I chose this size when 30DDD was a bit big in the cup and tight in the band, so for me sizing down in the cup and up in the band worked. It also helps the cups be shorter, always a plus for me!

If you have a lot of migrated tissue, this bra definitely isn't for you as it allows for very little movement. The band isn't very stretchy at all - it would fit fine one day and be too small the next. Not sure how it compares to other I cups in their line seeing as this was the only one they had in stock. As far as the design goes, it's actually a very pretty bra, but it just wasn't a good fit for me. I think this bra would work better for someone with narrow roots and not as full on bottom.

"If you have a lot of migrated tissue, this bra definitely isn't for you as it allows for very little movement"

Do you mean that you couldn't shift your tissue while wearing the bra, or it wouldn't stay where you put it?

If you have close-set, narrow breasts, Wacoal may have designed a fitting bra for you. The, gore, cleverly, adjusts for different levels of center fullness. Awesome! My close -set pair pushes the wires on top of one another creating a .5" gore. The materials are pleasant to touch and the tonal colors are beautiful.

*Wires distort at 30.5" of stretched band length. Size up once, maybe twice in band length.
*5.5" cup width and 10.5" of depth: the most narrow, deep Wacoal I've ever worn.
*Adjustable gore width .5" -.8" wide at the top and overlaps, if needed
*Lower gore is narrower than many. If you have omega-shaped breasts, this is helpful.
*Fluted straps ensure your adjustment will not move without your consent.
*I can count on one hand the bras that stay in my IMF: this is one.
*Single layer band is especially comfortable, but may loose dimensional stability quickly.

Although I need a wider cup and a narrower lower gore, I can strongly suggest this is worth a look if you are narrow, projected, and close-set.

    • Are the wires on bra hard? do you feel pressure from the gore? I like the concept of the gore being adjustable but it looks to tall.

    • 1

Wacoal wires are firm. If I kept this bra, I would swap the wires with Bravo Bella Flex wires #42, specifically. The pressure I feel is at the base of the gore which is likely related to this:. one breast is 100% free of the wire but the other breast wears wire marks down and around the length of the gore.

Wacoal makes bras I love. They rarely fit without alterations, but the materials and support are excellent. This bra has several design elements I sincerely appreciate:
    1. Limited stretch straps
    2. Wide straps (.7" like Comexim and Curvy Kate)
    3. Silky smooth fabrics
    4. 3 hook fastener (like Comexim and Curvy Kate)
    5. Supportive band

I've had one hell of a time finding a bra that fits my short-waisted physique. My breast roots are short and often mistaken for a smaller size....or two. Even in the right size, wings and gores are too tall for comfort. Inspired by cupandahalf 's adventures, I will trim these wires shorter and/or replace the wires with ... shorter specimens. This will create more space for my center-full, close-set breasts and may allow the wire to sit in my IMF. Without alterations, this bra, like over 100 others, pushes out of my IMF quickly: center fullness will do that.

The cup is supportive, holds all my tissue easily, and the fabrics are very comfortable. I'll add some cotton flannel (thanks, maddy2596 ) to protect my sensitive nipples and feel a bit more comfortable when our temperatures soar beyond 100 degrees F. My lined bras are simply too HOT for summer.

Outstanding design characteristics and a cool bra for summer.

EDIT: Replacing the wires with #42 Bravo Bella wires dramatically improved my comfort. Still, I prefer padded wire channels in Wacoal Bodysuede, and I'll create a wire padding feature for Supporting Role. This seems a more breathable fabric than Bodysuede. Summer will soon declare a lightweight winner. https://d28qt14g3opchh.cloudfront.net/smileys/icon_wink.gif" alt=";-)" />

    • I love this one. It's a shame they discontinued it! You know, it fits me in 32DDD and I'm heftier than you in pretty much all dimensions--you should try that size for the shorter wires.

    • wendybien Surprisingly, there is virtually no difference in the gore height and wing height between 32DDD and 34DDD, but the 32DDD cup is more narrow.

    Didn't fit

A bralette that fits a 32G UK! Sort of!

I needed a bralette that would be partially visible under a certain shirt. This was the perfect look, but to get enough cup coverage, I had to sister-size up to a 38 band and wear it on the tightest hooks. (The 36 was wearable but showed a little more skin than I wanted. I think the cup-to-band ratio is close to a DDD/E.) I also have to engage the J-hook to feel entirely secure, but it would probably be fine without it.

So, yes, this is 2-3 sister sizes off and about a cup size smaller than I'd like...but it's ... also a bralette that is pretty and supportive and comfortable in my range! I'm calling it a win.

EDIT: After wearing this a few times, I definitely get quadboob as the day progresses, and if I don't wear the J-hook, it's spill city. I still like it, but I hesitate to recommend it to anyone above a 32F UK, and a 34DD/E would probably be safer. However, if you're an FF/G and feeling lucky, give it a whirl.

    • I tried the 32. Should have done what you did. Glad it works for you :-) :-)

Luckily, I was in Nordstrom, so I could try on whatever I needed. I forget which sizes I actually tried on, but yeah, that brick and mortar advantage!
