The bra is comfortable and, in my experience, lasts a long time. I think this is fairly close to being right for me but the piece missing is the cup shape. I know (or I think I know) that given my lack of tissue at the top of my breasts means I could use a cup that doesn't cut so high. The band could be a little tighter as well.
Wacoal bras haven't worked out for me in the past-- while their B. Tempt'd line fits me quite well, the regular Wacoal styles haven't been cut for my shape. Still, I saw this beautiful bra on sale at Nordstrom and was really curious to try it. Curious enough that I went ahead and ordered up two sister sizes from my normal 28E to a 32D, since it wasn't offered in 30DD. I figured that the band would be too large anyway so I could alter it down if the cups fit well, but alas, this style is another example of how Wacoal bras aren't designed ...for my shape, as the cups are proportioned far too tall for me.
Aesthetically, this bra is really beautiful and unique. It is constructed with soft mesh throughout, but the inner layer is plain fine mesh, while the outer layer has a beautiful botanical design knit in. The colorway I purchased is Purple Heather, which is soft lilac with gradated tones of medium and light purple. Even the edge of the fabric is knit into a triple row flat elastic edge with gradated tones of purple. I have never seen anything like this, and really wish this had worked out! The fabric is soft, lightweight, and comfortable to wear, although it isn't very firm, so it probably wouldn't provide enough support for larger cup sizes. Straps also medium width shadow stripe elastic and not particularly wide. Still, it would be a fabulous summer bra for the right size range. There are no bows or other trims as the fabric is the detail on this bra.
However, the fit didn't work out for me in a way that I could alter it to work. First, the band is pretty TTS for a 32. While it measures similarly to some of my Fantasie 30DD bras, the wide mesh wings are super stretchy, and they taper down into a very steep leotard back with a narrow clasp. This back construction completely negates having the wider wings in the first place, and it doesn't provide firm enough support. I suspect that this would fit comfortably on a true 32 but would not feel snug. Because of this back construction, you cannot alter the length of the band without undoing the elastic, cutting a large portion of the band off, and restitching the entire leotard back. Therefore, you should only purchase this if you can buy your size, and ideally size down in the band to accommodate the stretchiness of the fabric. Despite being double layer mesh, it is not particularly firm.
The biggest problem for the fit is the proportion of the cups, which is designed for a tall, round breast shape. The cup height is about 2 cm taller than most of my 28E/30DD bras, and the center seam is visibly higher. The cups are a 2 piece construction with a diagonal horizontal seam between the upper and lower cups. There are no vertical seams to provide projection, but the cups do seem to be adequately shaped, and the stretch mesh will help it curve over any breast shape, so I don't think the cups would run shallow on anyone. If the cups had been proportioned lower to be the same as my other bras, I think it would have fit me just fine. As it is, the upper cup is just too empty and it comes up so high on my chest that it sits where I don't have any breast tissue. This style is not suitable for people with short breast height or very petite proportions.
The wires also show that the cup is designed for a tall breast shape, since the bottom of the wire is a gentle C curve, but the sides come up much higher, especially at the outer edge of the cup. It wasn't uncomfortable on me, but is definitely not the ideal shape. Wires have adequate flex and are not overly firm.
If Wacoal bras typically work for you and you have a tall breast shape and a medium cup size, I think this is a fabulous bra for summer. Read more 601 more words
This bra is beautiful! The lace is intricate and very pretty. The band is loose, and I have to wear it on the tightest hook. The wire isn't quite the right fit for my shape, but is overall the right size. As I'm not very projected on top, it gives me a very pointy shape, so I just use it as a weekend bra.
Very smoothing full coverage stretchy soft bra with very good support and comfort. Very soft colour called "Lilac Snow" a powder pink-lavender.
Almost a perfect fit because cups stretch just enough to hold me in but still support. Straps may be too long for me so I may have to alter them eventually. And I have to stretch the wires a wee bit to fit my sternum as the wire may be a touch too long but just about the right width. I find some Wacoal bras in same size are not wide enough. I have wide boobs but not top heavy so can't go a size up. Wacoal band sizes fit small so this is more like a 30 which is more my normal band size.
This is a super-comfy bra! The cups are seamless and made of a stretchy lace material. The band is very tight - I recommend sizing up a band for all Wacoal bras. I heard they stretch out quite a lot, but that hasn't been my experience.
I feel like this cup size is a tad snug. My impulse is to go up a cup size. Unfortunately, I used to have a 32DD and it was too big. They're both the older style of this model, without the j-hook. Hopefully they fixed the size discrepancy with the update.
As far as strapless bras goes, this is the best I've owned yet. Have never bought a strapless bra in the right size though, since I bought them all prior to knowing how to fit myself, and being fitted by department store and victoria's secret sales people. Haven't worn this bra much. Mostly use this to pair with costumes at festivals, when the tops don't have enough support, but can hold in the unfilled volume of the cup size. This is probably a great strapless when it's the right size!
Beautiful and perfect fit!! The cups are a bit stretchy, the band feels snug and comfortable, the straps adjust all the way. The lace does not show, so you can use it with t shirts. I am very happy and love this bra, great for every day use.
This bra is basic and Beautiful, the cups run small, I don't know if it is because it is a Demi bra. The band is stretchy and runs big, so I would love to have it in a band 30 cup DD or DDD, the straps adjust all the way.
I was really anxious to put this bra on, sadly it didn't went well, the shape is kind of pointy, the lace shows a lot, I am only going to be able to wear it with chunky sweaters, and the whole bra is very stretchy, from the straps to the band to the cups, all of it is stretchy, is a shame since the bra is absolutely beautiful, it didn't work for me, but I hope that maybe for someone else it does.
Love this bra, to tell you the truth Iam in love with wacoal!! This bra is super simple but soooo comfortable, the straps are wide almost all the way, the band is snug and wide, which makes it very comfortable, the cups are made of a breatheble and thin material which makes it light weight, it is ok to use it as a t-shirt bra since in my opinion, it provides enough nipple coverage. Really a most have bra!!
My go-to bra for over 4 years. It has been well loved. A work horse of a bra that continues to offer a lovely shape. My complaint is the construction of the straps cause the look of rolls in the back fat area. As well as the wires sit a tad below my imf line....
It was great for post-nursing breasts due to weight loss and lost volume after weaning... when I was actually 32D it fit great for a date night out, but even then there was slight spillage at the center of the cup, as I have more center-full breasts
I scored this bra for like $20 at TJ Maxx and i'm quite happy with it. The construction and quality seems great. The band is firm and it's very pretty and comfortable. The cups are molded but not padded. The lace wings have a transparent beige layer of fabric as backing which might not work for all skin tones.
It's a super pretty bra, even my mom wants one in her size! However as i lost some weight the 32 band feels rather big now https://d28qt14g3opchh.cloudfront.net/smileys/icon_sad.gif" alt=":(" /> I'll still wear the hell out of it though. It gives a pretty pointy shape i think, but i don't mind. It's not as comfortable as i wish it was because the cups are too separated and it cuts a bit into my breasts. It's not itchy, the straps are great. I like it.
I received this bra as part of a Bratabase swap as I was eager to try some styles/brands that I wouldn't normally get a chance to, or that I would be scared to buy because of the venture into the unknown! I loved the look of this completely unpadded, somewhat sheer lacy number and had never tried Wacoal so thought it was worth a go. My usual size is 30E so unfortunately this 32D is predictably too large in the band, so much so I've never worn it as I know it would be a nightmare! The cups are the right wire length/width etc for me but have a slightly more bottom heavy/teardrop shape than is suitable for my breasts - meaning that I get some cutting in/quad boob on my bigger breast and the bra just generally feels like it's not quite the right shape. Lovely colour and design though, shame.
I have reconstructed breasts (with implants) and this bra is often recommended for women in my case as it has stretchy, shallower cups. I ordered the 32D along with 32DD. The 32D is a cup size down from what I usually need, but I wanted to try it based on reviews about the wire being wide...I am not very wide breasted. It was fairly close in terms of wire width, but not quite. I felt the cups were a bit too shallow and restrictive for me. The band was a nice snug fit though and felt snug enough at 32 for me (I usually prefer 30 or very snug 32s).
This is a very nicely made bra, with high quality construction. The wires feel strong. It is definitely full coverage and a little too full coverage for me, a relatively petite woman. Not my cup of tea, but it definitely felt secure and modest.
