Am I the only one who thinks that her boobs look two cups smaller in the pl?
If not, do you think this is a style thing, angle of photo thing or that her boobs actually got larger?
Because if its a style thing, I will never order anythinhg except pls from ewa.

I'm looking for a little insight into sizing Ewa Michalak's PL style bras. I love my 70G CH Toffik and Lato, I wear a 70GG CH Onyks with its inserts to fill out the cups, and also adore my 70G HM Gold. The first time I ordered from EM, I got a variety of sizes and styles to see what ... worked, including a 65HH PL Malachit and a 70G PL Onyks. The PLs didn't fit and, unfortunately, I only recorded the band measurements before returning them, otherwise I'd be posting my plea in the "Fitting help" section.
The PL Malachit was far too small in the band, but overwhelmingly large in the cups, even with two inserts apiece. My pictures are here: http://www.bratabase.com/bra/dhkwp/

I'm surprised the 70G PL was such a failure given how well it fits me in the CH/HM styles. My breasts are fuller on the bottom, about a fingerwidth apart, and of medium firmness. Over the course of a day, they tend to spill into the center of most plunges I've tried, but I'm hoping that is more to do with sizing issues than style. I'm determined to find my size in the PL style, or the new S plunge that's being released soon, but I'm not sure if I should try a 70GG or 70H or...?
Do any of you ladies have experience sizing from CH/HM to PL? Is it common to have to size up in the cup once or twice? And should I hold out for the S style that's supposed to prevent center spillage? Thank you for your help, I greatly appreciate it!

I would suggest a 70GG in the PL. I need to size up in Pl compared to CH with about a cup size, though I would say that they are about half a cup size difference between the two bras. I do however not have much depth, which means that I can "size down" in CH compared to PL.
Ewa Michalak bras has a tendency to look huge when they are just a cup size too big, as the swoop-and-scoop and all the adjustments just doesn't work and they keep their shape. A 70GG would be right between the two PL bra you've tried so I would also because of this think it would be your best bet.
That's a really good point, it makes sense the cups would seem huge because the swooping and scooping doesn't hold. Thank you!

Okay, some observations now that I am wearing my bras with the underwire at the base and not 1" or more below:
1) I have a lot of migration. Easier to spot now that breasts are lifted.
2) When I swoop and scoop all of this (in the Darcy 30F), it gives me tremendous quadboob.
3) As soon a I move, it all ... unswcoops itself and the cup is again too big. Where does it all go??
4) Even though the Ewa Hm Magnolia, I bought of a listing ,is the absolute perfect band size, also a 2 piece vertical seam construction and recorded as having approximately the same depth, I am completely unable to fill it. *head desk* (Not to mention it is the most gorgeous bra I have ever seen, therefore am keeping it, at least until I see if/how migration affects the fit in a couple of months.) What is going on??
5) Bust of dress quite a bit tighter. Arm holes too low for bra. Must wear singlet with higher arms underneath
6) Centre gore anything but flat, but rather turns sideways and sits flush against left breast.?!?
7) If I measure where the band must sit, in order to have underwires flush under base, breasts get in the way. After fiddling with tape measure have tried following: measure how far breasts protrude. Measure band in correct spot. Subtract for breast = 26.50

3) Back to where you scooped it from. :) It will take wearing the right bra for at least six months to up to two years to make it stay.
4) HM styles have very narrow wires. I think you are looking at an orange-in-a-glass.

6) Usually this means that the cup is too small or that you have more volume near the centergore than the bra allows. It also can mean that you have breast tissue higher up that pushes the whole bra down. Or that your overall projection is stronger than the cup, ie the cup is too shallow. All depends upon the style of the bra and the shape of your breasts. Trying on the bra, closing your eyes and concentrating on the feel of it can help you figure it out.
7) *scratches head* Pictures? Drawings in Paint? I don't quite get you.

Since I don't have anyone to measure for me, and am doing it all myself, it is physically impossible to move all the tissue and keep the tape level, so I measured the pendulous tissue by itself and subtracted that from the full measurement.

Received my Ewa order today. After getting some fitting advice from t_maia here on Bratabase, I decided to try and change my order and was lucky changing at the last minute from 30GG to 32G. And a good thing that was. I ordered a HM gold, a CHP Stalówka and a CHP Cappucino. They are all very pretty and the ... CHP's fits perfect in the band. The HM is extremely tight. I can't close it at all and even with an extender it is a little too tight. It can be worn though.
Unfortunately none of the three bras are a good fit. The HM comes closest cup-wise, but I will have to exchange it for a 34 band if I want to keep it. The lace is a little flimsy though, and because my breast tissue is very soft, the seam across the cup creates a dent.
I had high hopes for the CHP's, because I wanted a little more coverage than I get from my CH Toffik. Unfortunately the taller cups just leaves me with massive gaping, which I don't really think would go away with a smaller cups. And I do think a FF would be too small. I'm overflowing my 32FF Toffik. I don't think the gaping shows through clothes, but I would have to avoid open neck lines. Of the CHP's the Stalowka is the best.
I am thinking maybe I am not a Ewa girl. Maybe I am too soft-breasted and flat on top. I will post for fitting advice before deciding what to do.

It's two M&S Limited Edition bras from eBay, both in 28DD. Does anyone know how this might fit someone who's supposed to wear a 24F/FF-26E/F? (I adjusted the cups based on my period)

Are they the ones with Modal? The band runs EXTREMELY stretchy on those so you'll probably need it altered (if it is from that range). It's like a super soft cotton that feels really nice but the downside is it stretches way too much on the wings. Also their sizing can be off, sometimes too small or sometimes really big.
I have two M&S bras, one is a 28 and feels like a 26 band and the other is a 30 and is a bit stretchy. Both are from the Limited Edition range, so I guess it depends on the model.

I wish Goddess , Elomi and Freya would would make 40D bras.( The lowest they go is 40DD.) I would buy bras from all 3 of these companys but I don't have breast forms big enough to fit the cups in 40DD and above.They sure seem to be really high quality,well-made bras.

Try a smaller band and use an extender? :) From looking at your profile picture if that's you you really look as if you would be bigger than a D cup :O
Eliza is right - if that's you in the picture, just from looking at you Id say you might be a 34 G even :D Now that's just a wild guess, put up your measurements and we could be much more helpful :)

So I have just altered the straps on an old Harmony bra as per this tutorial. http://dressingcurves.blogspot.se/2012/03/alterations-moving-strap-position.html I brought the straps in about half an inch on each side. While the result is not as neat as I would like (my sewing skills are fairly basic) I can definitely say the straps are a lot more comfortable. I ... plan to unpick all the stitching and redo this several times over just for practice.
There are some other problems that have been created by this alteration though. I am getting some armpit spill as well as quadboob at the top. I decided to try taking in the center gore as it has always been too wide for me in this bra and I remember reading somewhere that by tipping the cups to a slightly different angle it can open the cups a little. It did help to some degree but the quadboob is still there and the armpit spillage is worse and the underwires are now sitting on breast tissue.
I can only think that I am going to have to buy a cup size bigger than I really need in order to make this work. I can see that causing some major problems as I will not be able to assess the fit until I've altered it and I won't be able to return anything that doesn't fit. I also think some of my bras can't be considered for this alteration such as the Panache Porcelain, the cup on that is already tightly closed and moving the straps in will only make that worse. So right now I am not sure whether to just live with straps chafing me or risk the expensive option of buying too big bras and altering them. If anyone has any suggestions I would love to hear them.

It would seem as a general rule the bras doing that alteration on needs to be too big in the beginning.
If the wires is on breast tissue after you altered the center gore I'd say you need wider wires. Or deeper cups. So yes sizing up is what I'd do.
I did the center gore alteration to one of my bra. I had a empty space on the side, but the wires came on my breast tissues in the center (painfull).
This bra wasn't too big for me, the cups were just to separate. The center gore alteration brought the cups close together whithout make them smaller (but the band is now smaller than before).

I'm still waiting on the Rhea I ordered from the UKIt's been over a week but I hope it will arrive by Saturday. The last bra I got was a M&S 28F. It's my best fit so far despite the band being way too small. I've heard the cups run big so it might ... fit more like a 28FF? I think the cups are a touch big on me too. Sadly though the bra drives me nuts because the straps go right into my arms/pits and they have little scalloping on the edges for more chafe-ness.
It seems every bra I see that is in my price range is a size off or the band will be too big/small. I also don't know what to look for so that the straps won't try to cut off my arms. Loosening the straps or moving the bra down fixes this but then I don't fill the bottom of the cup or the straps slide down.
I feel like I'm doing something wrong! It sucks being short/petite. I have to buy kids shoes, pants are always way too long, and some shirts flatten my chest horribly and now bras want to constrict me.
I was looking at CK Emily and Lottie, 28FF and 28F respectively. But I think the cups will be too big on the first and too small on the latter. I also heard the Emily runs high under the armpits.
Is it so hard to ask for a bra with non wide-set straps!?

I know exactly how you feel. A strap placed over the center of the cup seems the obvious solution but they not that easy to come by. I've only ever seen this in full cup styles which would be too big for me. I've started to experiment with alterations to get a better fit.
If you can wear them a strapless bra could eliminate the strap problems, sadly I can't wear them because the silicone grip they put in the bands cuts into my skin.
I don't know what other brands you have tried....but my CK Emily is the worst of all mine for chafing. I don't normally have that problem but have to watch how I adjust the straps on the Emily.

Just wow, so bad. Fractally bad! Bands too big, cups waaaaay too small. Size 36DD, but not a UK DD. Why are Canadian bras so tiny cupped? UGH. Bras will never be anything I buy in person until there is some kind of revolution. Returning these for a refund, and hopefully I can take them to a store because I don't want to pay postage on them. At all.
What are the effects of having wires that are too narrow? I feel like having narrower wires would make for a much more comfortable centre gore, but what would that do to the rest of the fit??

There is a difference between narrow wires and a narrow center gore. The first refers to the width of the cup and the second to the width between the cups. If the wires are too narrow then the cup cuts into the breast tissue (usually the outside). A too narrow gore could mean the cups are in the wrong place, especially for someone wide set and with a wide root.
When I wear bras with wide wires, they are so wide that they make the gore, too wide. When I wear bras with narrow wires, the gores are narrower, but the tissue doesn't seem to stay in place, so I was wondering if that is from the wires or something else.

I do think it's a flattering look on smaller breasts. In this boob volume pl seems to work better, dont you think? :)
