Ever since I've snuck into the world of bra-fitting, correct bra sizes, etc., I have been noticing other women's bras much more. I suppose that happens to all of us - especially as most girls around me could do with some refitting. I rarely go up and talk to people about their underwear - too shy, I suppose - unless, ... off course, the topic comes up on its own. I look around a lot, though.
Today, I sat next to a girl in class, who, I think, could have been something like a 30GG, if not a 30H. She wasn't wearing a bra, or, if she was, it was so loose that her boobs rested somewhere on the level of her stomach. I had to keep stopping myself from staring - her business, after all, but... boy, did it look weird under a tight-fitting red sweater.
So I wonder - is the girl haunted by being unable to find a properly fitting bra to such a degree that she prefers to go braless? Or does she have a different reason? I myself was never a fan of going braless
(too much bouncing around, and, er, it's not exactly pretty, is it?), so I haven't the faintest. I certainly hope it wasn't reason number 1, though!

I'm often braless. I think it looks good on me. I'm wearing no bra in my profile pic.
Btw some people are shaped with boobs sitting lower. I'm not, I'm just sagged. And I still think it looks pretty most of the days. I like my boobs that way since they looks very round under clothing. It might not be my preferred look but I like it now and then. So it varies.
I'm not a big busted girl myself and I go braless a lot. And pretty is always in the eye of the beholder ;)
Personally I wouldn't ask another girls why she isn't wearing a bra, except she's a very good friend of mine.

So this is a fitting issue I have with most bras.
I want to hear all possible causes of this fiting issue you guys can think of.
I am not sure if its because
-the lower part of the cup is too shallow
-wires come up too high so my armpits push them down
-my boobs are just too heavy and drag the bra down.
It is quite possible its all three. And somthing elsw maybe? Any idea what bra to try? Still waiting for my boudoir beau :/

I would guess it's too big somewhere, possibly the band, but maybe the cup. Do you wear bras with full band support AND side wings, or only side wings, or only a partial band? What's the shape of the band? I've notice with a lot of Cleo's they curve down in front. A heavy bust would exaggerate this, so you may need a band that is completely straight across.

Looking at your profile you have mostly Cleo, and the blue/purple one definitely wasn't too small in cup, so this sounds more like a band style issue. Do you get this problem in EM bras? Their cut is supposed to be more straight.
Just to be clear - what exactly do you mean by side wings? A side sling for side support, side bonning or?
I havent exactly got any em in the right size - both too small and too big one do that. Any bra with wires too wide also :/

I finally had a chance to try actual bust-tailored clothing, and so far I'm pretty impressed. I didn't think that I "qualified" for busty clothes because I prefer ease around my belly, but I think buying clothes made for my bust might address most of my clothing fit issues. Fitting clothes for my bust makes the petite mismatch less of ... an issue. As a result, I don't feel as if I'm playing dress-up.
Because I blathered a lot for my review, I'll just leave it over on Tumblr. My questions for you all are: have you ever tried clothing designed for your bust, whether that's making it yourself or buying from specialty companies? Do you think it's worth the effort? Do you get things tailored for your bust (or tailor them yourself)?

Absolutely!! I make clothes for a living, including my own, and adjusting then altering to fit my shape (or whomever it's for) is a must. The clothes sometimes take on a different shape, but IMO look better than what's on paper. If ever I buy something from the store, the drape is awful and the garment looks so ordinary. Not that there's anything wrong with simple, but on an hourglass it appears more on the lines of dumpy.
I couldn't agree more, although with all the alterations I have to make to make something fit I never considered my bust a particular problem area. In RTW sizing I would be something like a 12 shoulders, 10/12 bust, 8 waist and 14/16 hips. On top of that I am petite with a short upper torso (overly straight upper back and high-set breasts) and an almost caricature hip spring -- I don't exaggerate when I say that virtually NOTHING off the rack ever fits me the way I want. Luckily I am a proficient (hobby) seamstress and I truly love sewing (although I hate doing alterations on RTW, which I try to avoid at any cost). I would definitely sew my entire wardrobe myself if only I had time -- having a full-time job and a one-year-old 'helper' around isn't terribly conducive in this respect though.
ETA: as to what to wear with a blazer -- I wear jackets almost all the time, simply because they flatter me and make me feel confident (ha). I usually pair them up with a nice and crisp pair of jeans -- personally I'm not a fan of the 'worn out' or 'destroyed' look; for some reason, on me 'shabby chic' always looks just 'shabby' -- or some plain black pants. Add a simple top, a scarf (optional), and some heels and I'm good to go pretty much regardless of the occasion.

I'm in love with the Cleo Meg, but I'm reading about something called wide wires? I'm not clear on the concept, but I know that Freya and Ewa tend to fit me very well and I see that they are often referred to as having narrow wires. Should I give up on Cleos? Or is there some way around this? I really need a bird print in my life.

Cleos have medium to wide wires, similar to the unpadded Curvy Kates. It might be that the wires are too wide for you, but they also might fit you just fine. You can only try. Have you entered the Freya and Ewa Michalak bras you own into bratabase?

This last weekend I decided that I wanted to try on a bunch of bras without having them shipped to me and subsequently shipped back because I still don't really know my size. So, I did what any girl does in this situation, I drove the 4 hours to the big city to the nearest boutiques. (Don't worry, we had ... other reasons to go to the big city, not just for this.
So, the next day I tried a different store, and they actually listened to my size and brought in bras that were pretty close to what I needed. In fact, I THOUGHT I'd even found one that fit pretty well, so I bought it. Unfortunately, after an hour of wear, it started to kill me. Even more unfortunate, I was back home when I tried it and I bent the wires trying to make it tolerable (what? It worked with the Lunaires)....so now I'm stuck with a gorgeous bra that doesn't fit me at all.There is a happy ending though! I'm a lot closer to finding the right size (I think it's going to be a UK 34G), if I can just find one that has straps that are closer together in the front. And that search is what led me here....

Hi, if you want, I could try to guess at your size based upon your measurements.
I would need:
underbust loosely
underbust as tight as possible
bust standing
bust bowed forward at 90 degree angle
bust lying flat on your back
All without your bra and in cms if possible.
BTW, Krisline has its own sizing system. Both Krisline and Freya are known for narrow wires. If the wires dug into your sides, you either need a larger cup or a different cut with wider wires.
Underbust regular is 83.82 cm
Tight but still breathable is 80.5 cm
bust standing is 106.2 cm
bust leaning over is 109 cm
laying on my back, it's 104.5 cm

I was fitted at Nordstrom in Escondido California on June 29th 2012. And I got great service. The lingerie manager Judy was so helpful and patient. I was taken to the fitting room and Judy brought 6 bras ,3 Wacoals and 3 Chantelles in different sizes and styles. She helped me put on the bras and adjust the straps ... and got everything put in place.She asked what I thought on how I looked and how they felt on me.We both came to the conclusion the Wacoal Alluring was the best for me. She also told me to wait on purchasing it for 2 weeks when they would be on sale. Saving me about 20$. One bummer though is I had my heart set on getting a Chantelle "Amazone" which she told me they didn't carry.Or even order for me??? Nordstrom policy I guess?

40D is what fit me best.But we also tried 38D and 40C's in both wacoal and Chantelle bras.

It seems like the more I read bra adventures or fitting help requests the more snarkiness I see. We all have different shapes, sizes, fit needs, etc. We all have different fit standards that we use (+0 inches, +0cm, +2in). I get that, and I think that is what makes this community great. There is not much out ... there for fitting help when you cannot get into a boutique. And that makes every suggestion on the fitting help requests or bra adventures valuable.
But I don't get the snark. Why do we need to nit pick other's suggestions if we do not agree? Say you don't agree, and give your thoughts to why. It is more respectful to the person making the suggestion and to the person requesting help. The person requesting help could use as many opinions as possible! I have stopped offering any kind of fitting help just because I want to avoid the snark. I don't have a perfect fit myself, and I flat out know I won't because the breast shape I have. It's not me, it's the bras. I don't feel that any fitting suggestion I offer would be well received because I myself don't have an ideal fit. But what I do have is the best fit I can and comfort. Every woman that wears a bra deserves the same thing, even if they can't get a perfect fit. I think we need to remember that when we are trying to help others.

Thank you for bringing this up. I started to avoid fitting blogs last year because I felt like many of the discussions there were taking a turn towards "you're wrong about fitting, you're wearing the wrong size, you shouldn't calculate your size that way, let me tell you how to do it properly"... not to mention people accusing each other of wearing small bands/large cups out of vanity. (I do think it's appropriate to discuss "reverse letterphobia" because that's a legitimate fit issue that some people run into, but I am not okay with telling someone "oh, you're only wearing that size because you want to think of yourself as thinner", etc.)
IMHO, if we're going to use our collective knowledge to help each other, respecting others' experiences of their own bodies is pretty important.

So, on my current fit request, I have some people saying that the cup is a size too big, while others are saying it is up to 2 sizes too small. At least I've got to be closer to a good fit than I was in August, anyway...

Up to 2 sizes too small coming from the same people who in their bra photos on their reviews have wrinkled cups covering their entire chest when the cups have a smaller cut than how they are worn...and they say they fit.
What do they feel like to you? Do they feel too big or too small? I still say they're not the right cut for you and are potentially too big because of how high you are wearing them, your height aside - I can see that the top of the cup is not filled as it should be for that particular style, but that's just what I'm seeing, and in a photo.
If the sizes that you've tried so far still feel off then chances are they're not the right size/style. Trial and error are what get a lot of women into correctly fitted bras, not necessarily the feedback from others. I could be entirely wrong in all the advice I've given you, but so can others. You should go with what you feel fits and supports you best.

My Rhea from the UK finally arrived today. I thought it looked too big at first but it fits just right! The band is firm and the cup gives me a nice lift. And the straps aren't too far apart.I have some slight gaping on my smaller breast but it really isn't horrible. I think if I went down a cup I'd have quadboob. I'm so glad to FINALLY have a bra I can wear comfortably! I will be adding it soon to the database

I added photos, its a 30F. I don't want to open a fit request because I have no fit issues besides the small gaping but I would love if you could comment on the fit since this is the closest thing to a "good fit" ive ever had.
It is a good fit :) I may be wrong, But I do think that you, Nesoa and HLA have a similar boob shape - i think they could help you out in the future :)

It would be cool if you could also mention your country of residence/your native language. This way people might know it is a case of politeness being lost in translation. I know that as a German I often come across as rude to native English speakers, especially to US-Americans when it is actually a language problem in combination with cultural differences.
