I tried on a 70H Ewa Michalak bra. Both the cup and the band were a little too large. Should I go to a 70GG or a 65H? I don't have the funds to keep trying on sizes. For reference, in most brand bras I either wear a 28H or a 30GG.

Sitting down to measure out my new Deco Half Cup and noticing that the wires are a lot (3/4 of an inch) shorter than the wire channel. I've been measuring the length of the underwire channel (like the diagram shows) but this is the first time I've encountered such a large difference between the wire and the channel.
I'm thinking ... that this would be something useful to indicate in the measurements area. For instance, if a higher gore digs into someone's chest, being able to move the wires further back could make it wearable. Maybe a check box to indicate whether the wires were more than 1/4" shorter than the channel?
In the meantime, what's the best measurement to take - wire or channel length?

It's the wires we are supposed to measure not the channels :) For me that's the easiest measurement. Cup depth and cup width I've had more problems with understanding :D
It's nice not being the only newbie on this area! :)
Okay, so now that I've actually ordered some styles to try on, I'm a little weirded out. Not from the "letter", but from the idea that my breasts could be an entirely different shape and dimension than I thought they were all these years. And then there are still questions scraping the back of my mind like, I am I going start getting more attention?? Will this affect how my clothes fit?? Will I need new clothes? Suddenly flooded with memories of high school...

I can relate to that as well. Bra fitting is not only bra fitting but there is dealing with a lot of other issues and emotions as well. I'm just as confused as you are.
Yeah, I was really surprised to have such an emotional response, and the bras aren't even here, yet! I've spent the past ten days or so basically not wearing bras, only camisoles, and it's been giving me the sensation that I've been severing a part of myself (literally, as well, with the underwires, I suppose).
On top of this, I've been getting soreness I haven't had since high school. I wonder if that is a slight migration... I mean, I am not splitting the tissue, anymore, so maybe it's starting to settle back on it's own...

Just spent 2 hours of my morning going through my undies drawer. The good news...there's more room. Ha! The bad news, of the 27 I had, 13 are still ok (5 of those need modifications), 14 don't fit and 1 of those is the Panache Sport =( I was hoping I'd find a 28FF to trade with on here but ... it doesn't appear anyone even has one in that size. Not that I wear it for it's purpose, it's more comfortable for me to just wear PJ's and a loose t-shirt (back closure on top of scoliosis while trying to do situps? Yeah no thanks). So some of those I will be listing on here, the better ones that haven't been modified. If you wear 28F, 30E or 32DD keep an eye on the bras for sale!

Interesting. I reckon this is what I have, I have these little bulges in the armpit that are completely separate from the rest of my breast tissue. Scooping it into the cups doesn't work, as it usually sits above the cups of most of my bras but the next cup size is too big. On the few bras I have that sit a little higher sccoping it in only works until I move my arms - then it escapes again. There seems to be no way for me to contain it so I've pretty much given up on worrying about it, I just don't wear sleeveless tops that show it off. ;)
I kind of just woke up bc of aching breasts so I got scared, started to google breast cancer in the armpit and then I found that video.
I found the root of my boobs sitting in my stomach yesterday and my armpit hurts like madness since changing bras.
So now we know breast tissue migration do happen. For me determining that it's breasts have not been very difficult. I have to almost stand upside down to get my boobs in the cups now.
In the right sizes I get that tissue in the armpits into the cups. But it makes sense since I'm high on chest (or rather "all over chest" so the fabric is often there when straps tightened. If the cups are big enough.

soooo... if you ignore the photoshoped version and look at the last picture of the herroom model - it kind of looks like the almighty cleo cut? Could it be? A cleo cut with 3 hooks in larger sizes? What are your experiences with fantasie bras? I have yet to try one.

That 3-part-cup (known as a TypeH-cut) is pretty universal across a lot of bras and brands, it doesn't mean anything.
If you want the Cleo cut in another design, take a look at the bras by BouxAvenue, especially those available up to an H-cup.
I know this, but somehow only cleo fullbands deliver the shape I look for. At least from the brands I've tried. boux looks lovely, how's their sizing compared to cleo? Cause I go for hh/j in cleo

Hi I wonder how cup depth and breast perimeter compare in general. I've never understood that.
I now have a full perimeter of about 40. Might even be bigger but certainly not smaller.
I also have no cushion what so ever between wires and skin. I don't exactly know what has happened to my boobs through the years and it's ... certainly a phenomenon to dig into further. For some reason part of them had slipped down passing on as rolls, part of stomach and back fat. Rather than migration I have not just seen them.
And now I have no bra to put on what so ever. 34J Sienna are clearly too small. Should even bother of trying out it in bigger cup? It's a bra I really wished fit me because it's just as comfortable as the Andorra.
I prefer soft materials. Now I will prefer it even more as there are so much pain going on. Collecting all these boobs by hand is hard. Estimating how big a cup I need is even harder.
Having an underbust line that is now right in your stomach is not a very fun thing to deal with in the first place. If I am lucky when separated to my boobs the stomach line might go down just a little. But I doubt it.
Also as my underbust line now is now on a lower part of my body I'm also much smaller around there. Still my boobs go up high on chest so my goodness I'm in trouble ;/

Hi Eliza. I love how you refer to this as collecting all of your boobs by hand. I would absolutely try the tightest band you can stand and the larger cup to see if I could eventually get all of your boob tissue (including that which has moved down on your body) to stay where it belongs.
Also, when you say full parameter is 40, is that inches or centimeters? And for just one boob or both. That might help.

Hello, I am from the Netherlands. I am reading Bradatabase for a while now, but this is my first post here. I’d like to start with a question regarding the breast perimeter. How exactly does it relate to (or translate in) the cup size/band size? The perimeter of my left breast (the largest) is 39/40 cm’s (so around 15,5 inches) ... and my ribcage measures around 28.5/28.8 inches. I am currently in doubt what shape and size are best for my breasts. I own a Fantasie Serene and Elodie in size 30HH, but I think they are too narrow the in the cups for me. I always have this wrinkling at the tip of the cup (around my nipples) and in the bottom of the cups. I keep pulling the cups to the sides, because of my fleshiness at the sides. I guess I need shallower, wider wires with my orange in a glass syndrome… I think I slightly have the same problems as Eliza Yesterday I received my Curvy Kate Emily in size 30JJ. For the first time the under cups looked pretty normal & less distorted; finally the wires are long & wide enough for me. But although I am rather full on top, there is now some gaping and wrinkling going at the top of the cups (especially in the right one, my smaller breast). I already took off the labels, so I can’t send it back. Maybe I should have ordered also a 30J for comparison. However fortunately it was a bargain at Bras Stop Today also ordered a Panache Andorra in size 30J. I am curious how this will fit.
I further own two sports bras: one from Bravissimo (wired) in size 30K. The band and the cups run a bit small, but for jumping and jogging that’s ideal; and one from Royce (wireless) in size 32K. The cups are fitting properly I think. But the band is a bit too loose and the support is only suited for a low impact work-out. But it’s so comfortable I mostly wear it as a ‘house’ bra.
Thanks in advance for all your insightful advices.

And I've just discovered my boobs were not shallow, I had just not found the underbust line :D But if yours are, definitely Andorra!
Also Panache Sienna. I would almost say it's as comfortable as the Andorra.
Be sure to check out that you don't have rolls on your sides that actually are boobs as well :D
Great you discovered the real look of your boobs!:) I think my boobs are overly round, but very firm. I lost around 22 pounds in the last couple of months, but I hardly didn't lose any breast tissue at all. My boobs start somewhere at my back and that's the reason I think it's rather hard to measure the perimeter. But I can create some dramatic projection with the Fantasie Elodie, because of the side seam;) The Panache Andorra also has side seams, I heard. What do they for your projection? And how do the Andorra and Sienna compare? I must admit I am fairly new to Panache bras. I once tried the Tango II and I must admit it wasn't a pleasant experience. The wires hurt like hell. But I must also add that I ordered a too small cupsize. But I guess I really need those overly wide wires.

I just wanted to share a bit of my bra life. For starters, I've always knows I had the wrong bra size because I have a very small frame but there weren't any small bands that I could find. I always where my bra on the tightest hook, even when it is brand new.
I had been wearing 34B since ... I was a teen but recently the cups of all my bras were far too small. I went up to a 34C which fit much better but made my breasts look much saggier and made me appear heavier. Just recently I did my measurements and tried some calculators and I was told my size was closer to 30DD! I couldn't believe I was a D cup, even my aunt told me I was crazy, that my boobs aren't that big.
I've learned a lot about bras, how the cups are relative and how the hooks are somewhat of a timeline. Now I am throwing out or selling my old bras and looking for new ones. There aren't any stores where I live that sell "odd" sizes but I am lucky to find some 32D at TJ Maxx, and depending on the brand and style, they fit well.
Now I feel compelled to help others find their perfect bras! I can already see a difference in my new bra than my old one; my breasts aren't squashed and I don't look like my boobs are down to my belly button. I can't wait to order a 30DD to see how it fits and looks. Glad to find this little community too

Hi there! I bet people in my area would think I was a delusional lunatic if I told the majority of them that I was a 32FF or G, or 30 higher letter, etc. I love that your aunt told you that you were crazy. Before I learned about correct bra sizing, my sister in law had a mastectomy. She was upset and told me that she went from a DD cup to nothing. I felt for her, but secretly thought that there was no way in heck that she was a DD if I was only a C or D and was much larger than her. Now I know that I was the crazy one. She is wealthy, so there is a good chance she was shopping at Nordstrom vs. my Victoria's Secret, thus she was sized right and I was the nut. Have you tried Norstrom Rack? I have had no luck in my area, but you may be better luck in yours. Also, I have had a pretty good run on Ebay. You might try there. Oh, also Brastop, depending on where you live.
Hi :) I don't have a Nordstrom anywhere near me unfortunately but I have been looking for some on ebay! I'm not sure what style will suit me but I guess that's what this site is good for. I've always only worn molded bras but I'd like to try balconette or demis. I have checked out Brastop, they have great prices! I live in the US so it isn't always practical to buy from out of country. Nordstrom does offer free shipping so that could be an option too.

This is my first bra adventure.
I'm currently 32 weeks pregnant and I have watched my body and boobs change like mad during this process. First a little background. I'm 28 years old and this is my first pregnancy. Before pregnancy I was wearing a 28H bra. I have breast implants. With out my implants ... I basically had zero breast tissue. I had no natural breast crease or curve to my breast. I figured that I may gain a little while pregnant so I was not overly concerned about having implants while pregnant. My intended bra size was not a 28H, but that is kind of what happens when you really learn about bra sizing. I thought I was a 32AA (unfilled) before, I was probably a 26B/28A.
So here I am, 32 weeks later with these ginormous morphing breasts. Through this entire process I've had so many changes. I did not think I would gain much size, but boy have they changed. I am carrying very high, so my ribcage has gone from 26 inches to 29. What was a breast shaped mostly by an implant has changed. I have the same cleavage, but my once full on top breasts have turned into full all over breasts. I have more lower fullness now, more sideboob, and a breast crease that is really starting to shape up. I don't have measurements for each breast individually, but my fullest bust measurement has gone up 3.5 inches. And the weight of these is incredible! I went from wearing a 28H on the tightest hook to wearing a super stretchy 28J Freya with a horrible fit, to busting out of my 30J nursing bra. Wires are killing me because my baby belly is so high up, so much so that I can not fit a normal bra band under my bust with out it digging into the top of the baby bump.
I'm at the point where I need to be considering nursing bra options. The usual recommendation is to get a fitting at the 8 month mark, then add one cupsize. Unfortunately this will not work out well for me because in the weeks after birth it is normal for the ribcage to settle back down to normal. So If I need a 30JJ now that means I should order a 30K nursing bra. (Anyone heard of those?) My ribcage will go back down slowly, so I'll need a 28KK. So sense these are not made I may as well look at special ordering a 26L.
Not exactly what I counted on after getting pregnant or after breast implants. There are many ideas and assumptions about breast growth in pregnancy. Based on stories I thought I would not gain much in size. Boy was I wrong! There is still another 8 weeks to go, plus the early changes when starting to breastfeed. I look at how things have changed so far and I can't help but be worried about what is ahead of me.

I'm afraid to tell yoiu bad news: boobs will get bigger when you start breastfeeding - I went from 32g to 32hh. But after few months (10) I am back to 32g/30gg (still breastfeeding).
I couldn't wear anything with underwire in last two months - but nursing bras I got for after baby will be born were too tight - my underbust was 33" (it's 28.5" now).
I am really surprised on how maby of you keep accurate track of what's going on, if not for you, this may be useful for others :)
I keep thinking that the profile measurements could be useful for keeping track of rapid changes seasons like these.

65 cm band = 30 inch band, 60 cm band = 28 inch band.
Definitely go down to 65 if not 60. Unsure about cup size.
Just to help things, EM runs small in the band, so 70 is actually more like a 30 band, even though it's usually a 32 in other brands. So I'd say 65 for band, since it corresponds to a 28 approximately. I'm not entirely sure about cup size either to be honest. Since a 65 is technically still a 30 band, you may want to size down in the cups accordingly from a 28H? I'm worried that may make the cups too small, depending on how large they were in the 70H. Oh, dear, I hope I haven't confused you more. I've confused myself.
