Just placed my first Comexim order! *Happy Dance* it says orders processed after today won't be fulfilled until 7/27 due to vacation. For all I know, it's tomorrow in Poland so it may be a while before it gets here. But still, yaaaaaaaay!!

My Comexim order arrived today!
I think I last posted about waffling about ordering since I'd need to make special arrangements for a couple of the sizes and whatnot. Finally, I decided I would just order the one 65K - Comexim » Basic (170), because the bare minimum of bras I'd like to have that fit well are a ... beige one and a black one. I figured since my beige Basic from Wellfitting fit great, it would be safe to order the exact same thing but in black straight from the source. If it arrived before I left on vacation, yay! If it didn't, oh well, it should fit so I won't need to worry about missing the return period or something. I placed the order on the 9th, it shipped on the 20th, I leave on vacation on Sunday, and it arrived today! I idly checked the tracking today, expecting it to still be halfway across the country, then excitedly sent my mom to go pick it up.
Since it did succeed in arriving pre-vacation I'm almost bummed I didn't try to get some of the other ones I wanted, especially the swim top. But that's okay, I stand by my reasons; plus, if I had tried to do more bras, maybe the order would have been delayed. Current plan is sometime in the next week or so I'll place the new order so that hopefully I get the package shortly after coming back home.
And I'll do the whole review and pictures and such, but basically it fits just like my beige bra, so I'm good to go!

FYI, I've made a great discovery at Old Navy! This wireless, light sports bra is amazing. I bought this in a XL, and fits -- with room to spare (I'm around UK 32GG/32H/34GG). It also keeps the girls separated, supported, and round. It even comes with adjustable straps. And considering the price, I'm going to snag them up in every color. Obviously this is great for lounging around, but I'm hoping to even work out in it (as that's its intention).

Thank you for the rec! I've been on the hunt for a new lounge-y bra. They're an extra 30% off today, so I bought one in every color. Hoping they work for me :)
I was looking at the Mint bra(because I don't have enough bras) and I noticed that the bottoms aren't available. Does anyone know if you can email them and ask to have them made? They look like the same fabric as the bra.

My Comexim order just arrived and I'm seriously blown away. These are the best fitting Comexim bras I've ever owned and the bikini top is just as good as the bras.
Unfortunately, there is one problem and it's with the Joy I ordered. I asked for a plunge longline version and while it is a plunge, it's not a longline. ... I'm not terribly disappointed because all the mixed reviews on the fit of the longline made me nervous, but it could have been nice to have. I did ask for quite a few alterations, so I can see how it might have gotten mixed up.
Anyway, I was too excited to not make a post before I write up my reviews! I'll get them out later today instead of working like I'm supposed to, haha.

Oh my gosh, they look INCREDIBLE!!! Do I see you having a TACKING GORE on all 3 of those? I am so, so happy for you. Too bad they didn't make your longline properly! Did you get charged extra for the longline? (I have no idea if the longline costs extra compared to a regular bra.....)

What would happen if I removed the wires from this bra? I tried bending them out but they still poke and rub and are terrible. Would it just make everything terrible or would it possibly help?

What Wacoal are you talking about? It will basically just fit a little differently. The wires can't hurt you if they aren't there, but not everyone likes the fit of a nonwired bra. If there is no wide underbust band there can be a distinct lack of uplift.
The cup shape probably will be totally different if you remove the wires.
However, you can always try and put the wires back if it doesn´t work. If you have a seam ripper and a sewing machine / if you hand sew very well, there is a change that it won´t even be noticeable.
I seriously hate when you try on a bra, think you'll be able to make it work, and then cut off the tags only to find that when you actually wear it for awhile you HATE it ;(

So my little "adventure" with this company is finally over. Starting in May 2nd I had wanted the Masquerade Antoinette so badly and found it on their site in my size, thinking they probably had a few left over. Even though I was skeptical of it being "back ordered" i still bought because I wanted it so badly. From then ... on as each estimated shipping date passed I'd contact them again and they'd say it'd been further delayed by the manufacturer, which made me more and more suspicious since Masquerade doesn't exist anymore. Finally I asked to cancel and have a refund. The confirmation email said your refund will be sent in 24 hours and after 3 days I had to contact them again because it had still not been refunded and they apologized because the refund payment "had not processed" before. If that's true then why would they have not contacted me about that? Finally I've got my money and this awful episode is over.. I don't want to be that person who complains about retail places but it seems like this company is shady, selling things they don't seem to have and not making sure their customer gets their money back...

I don't know how large an operation they run but this seems to be a common problem with small boutiques that operate both online and a brick and mortar store(s). During my granny bra experiment last year there were a couple recently discontinued bras that I wanted to try and I tracked down no less than 3 stores that supposedly had some inventory in my size, as in, their site let me order it. Similarly to you I then got email notices saying "back ordered" or some other thing and then eventually I was told the order was canceled since they did not have the item and couldn't get it. Two of the boutiques just did a normal refund but one place I had to actually phone them and convince them that NO I did not want a merchandise credit and in fact did expect my money back. I wonder if this is an issue with their ordering systems not making it easy to flag the difference between "this was originally back ordered but then discontinued so there's no way we're getting more of these" (in which case it shouldn't be offered on the site) and "this is just back ordered but we should be able to get more product."
You're probably right. But it does seem to me that shouldn't a place that specializes in full bust bras know something that's as big of news as Masquerade being discontinued as a brand?

I got my first overbust corset from Orchard Corset, and it's awesome. I was so worried it wouldn't fit my boobs, but it actually does a good job of supporting without massive overspill. I didn't know what size to put, so I put 34I for 34 inches.

I have 2 of their 511's that I bought about 5 years ago for a photoshoot - of course the fact that the length of this style is impossible to do anything other than stand in has resulted in their retirement to an out of the way place in my closet. I haven't bothered with the newer overbust 530 style which is shorter in length, mainly due to my preference for underbust corset styles. I will say that most of their corsets are designed with someone with a 'balanced' shape and needing more hip/rib-spring in mind. For OTR at a price nearly anyone can afford, Orchard is excellent, as far as I'm concerned. I'm not one to complain about minor aesthetic issues like a few wrinkles in the satin or less than perfectly finished bias tape binding.
I should also mention that I'm 5'6"-5'7" and wear a 16/18, and I would actually prefer it to be a little longer. I wish they made shorter and longer versions.

valentine556 I do have enough space for my clothes. I just do not need a drawer full of bras that do not fit me anymore or have never fitted. Same goes with clothes. They do not fit or suit me, or I just do not like the color, or never wear them. So I rather use that space these things take for things I actually use and get rid of what I don't use.

There's a Daily Dream with my name on it. Just deciding weather to get a 34HH or 32J. I'm finding the band on my Arizona has stretched pretty fast. On the 2nd hooks after only a couple weeks. I'm curious about Ellace.
I'd go with 32 if I were you! I'd rather have the band be a bit snug at first and wear it with an extender, than it loosen quickly.
I sent them an email about sizing, and here's what they said:
Ellace has a stretch lace at top of cup, so will be more forgiving.
Daily Dream is the replacement for Daily Boost, however with upfront engineering. Size should remain the same.
Madagascar fits to size.
I'm between 32H/34GG, sometimes more or less depending on brand, and I ordered all in 32H.

I contacted them to see how much it would cost to ship something to me - in their response they included the price of the bra, the paypal fees, and the shipping cost but not the VAT charge. I read here that they aren't supposed to but they do charge a VAT fee. Does anyone know approx how much that fee is? Thanks!!

23% and it's applied to every item you buy, the shipping fee, and the PayPal fee.
So, add 23% to the total they gave you and that's what it'll actually cost.
Unless they stopped doing it, but I doubt it. My most recent order was placed two weeks ago and it has the VAT charge.
Every item?! Wow. That's a lot! So just making sure (since it's seems like a lot), but if they gave me a total of $57 … it would actually be about $70 with the VAT fee?

Sooo, I have a question: what exactly does "immediate projection" mean? I see people frequently using this term to describe a bra characteristic, but its exact meaning stil eludes me.
I get the shallow/projected distinction when it comes to boobs, and can wrap my brain around projected/shallow bras as well, but what is immediate projection in a bra? And does that mean there is also some sort of non immediate projection?

I have immediate projection on the bottom of my boob. Basically it means that if you walk your hand up your ribcage to the bottom of your breast and feel where the tissue begins, that part gets very projected straight away. If you were to do a drawing of yourself looking from the side, the bottom of your boob (if you're like me) would curve out sharply from the rest of your body, instead of gradually/gently curving out. I know I have it because most British bras are too shallow for me at the bottom, so my breasts force the underwires down my ribs to try and get more room. In unlined bras I can see empty space at the bottom of the cup, and in molded/padded bras I often see a buckle in the material at the bottom. Hope this makes sense!
My boobs have a ton of immediate projection. My boobs do not slope away from my ribs, they stick straight out. Between that, my size, and my short roots, finding bras that actually work for all three aspects is a bit of a pain. I'm always having to sacrifice somewhere.

I didn't make this decision lightly. My favorite bras are EMs but I have to vote with my money to register my objection to their outright greed.
I placed an online order (not my first, BTW) several months ago with EM. I did this knowing full well that I was being charged a non-applicable VAT fee (since I'm in ... the US) and that shipping would take forever. Including the taxes and delay in my estimate of value, it was worth it.
However.
When I followed up in late May to find out where my goodies were, I was told they were being returned to Poland because I had not included my state in the shipping address. I was informed that I would have to pay shipping AGAIN to get my order because it was my error. Although I am dead certain that I included my state (it's also in my profile), I wasn't about to argue - or pay - again. I told them that a company that ships internationally should be expected to pay close attention to the shipping details before sending packages off to avoid circumstances like this. If they were unwilling to reship at no charge, I asked that they refund the order.
They deducted the shipping from the refund.
I don't shop at Wal-Mart, ChikFilA or Ross because I object - strenuously - to some of their policies. Unfortunately, I'm adding Ewa Michalak to the list.

What happened to you totally sucks, and I would be just as irritated and angry if it happened to me.
But...do you know that most bras of EM quality cost more (at MSRP) than what EM charges, even if you include the shipping and unfair VAT? That many cost twice as much? That most are made in countries with shoddy labor and environmental practices, and don't have explicit commitments to fair labor? That many of those are pretty big companies, while until like last week EM had her surly kid working for her, because she owns a pretty small company actually? That no other lingerie company has remotely showed EM's initiative in featuring truly diverse models or serving the needs of a very small segment of the population (small band, big bust)?
So, like, I feel you but...I guess I think your righteous rage is misplaced.
Lynn I would undoubtedly have done the same thing in your position. I think I'd be more understanding of their side if Ewa and co had only just started doing international, but that's not the case by now - I'd estimate that most of the people on here who buy from Ewa are in the US. It seems like they get a lot of US orders - if someone on their end thought the address looked funny, why not contact you to verify (or, even google the zip code to get the state - I'm Australian and done this before)? If you had left the state off, either of these things would've taken 30 seconds to do.
And if they screwed up the postage, which it sounds like is what happened? Passing on the cost of a mistake to a customer is never okay to do. I used to work as a retail supervisor before I started grad school, and what Ewa's business has done here is just not acceptable. My boss, the owner of our store, was never happy about it when we ended up eating the cost of an incorrect price quote, but he never tried to pass the cost of staff mistakes onto customers.
melifish I'm going to have to disagree with you. I really do get what you're saying about the use of sweatshops in the lingerie industry, and I do think we should support businesses that don't do that. But this is just poor customer service, and they didn't even make an attempt to meet the OP halfway. And the OP is now out the cost of shipping, for an item that wasn't even received. There are companies that do make all their own bras and seem to do a better job at running a business than Ewa does. My own recent experience with Anna Pardal is evidence of this - I contacted Anna after waiting six weeks for a bra to arrive, and she didn't try to accuse me of dishonesty etc. - she explained a courier issue they were having, and said she would ship me another set if I didn't see anything in 2 weeks. The set ended up arriving in the end, and was about the same for bra and panties as one bra from Ewa. I can't personally get behind being more willing to forgive poor service just because a company is making their product ethically.

What did you get?
a Poison Ivy 60J. I debated alterations but I've tried all these secondhand ones in 3 different sizes & considering nobody knew if the too small 60HH Poison Ivy I tried had alterations, I just went with a standard 60J. If the cups are too tall then I'll know for sure & I can return it & order alterations then. I am excited. Poison Ivy is the most unique & beautiful bra I've ever seen! I love the green!
