Just a general Comexim thing. I'm working on narrowing down my size. I just received a 60L that was loose in the band and seemed to fit great in the cups. But after wearing for a day it's just not right. The cup volume seems to be OK, but a tight shirt pulls everything forward and creates a weird gap ... in the font by the gore.
So far I've tried a regular style (this one, the blue plaid) and one with a raised gore (the Iris I think). I'm thinking of requesting one with a lower gore or with less fabric at the top of the cup. Has anyone done this? How does the fit compare to their standard fit?

I'm thinking of doing the reversed; ask for higher wings and gores, so I'm equally curious about how to do it :)
Would you want to sell your 60L comexim? I'd be interested in purchasing it if you are! send me a message and let me know.

I'm thinking of sewing bras to get them to fit. From what I read online it's easy enough and once you've done it you never want to buy one again. It feels a bit intimidating because I don't sew much, so just getting the material would be a project, and I probably need a size (30GG) that doesn't come in the patterns I've found. I'm going to do a little more research on what I need first. Anyone done it?

Do you have any bras that fit you or *almost* fit you? If so, you could use those bras as a template. I haven't done it exactly, but I am in the middle of making a bralette :) Not the flimsiest kind, so it's somewhat similar I guess. I'm making mine with 3 hooks and a leotard back. Since I'm a total noob at sewing I decided NOT to buy power net or anything like that for my first project, I'm simply using jersey fabric, a rather strong one though so it might be enough for me support-wise (I don't have very big boobs and they're quite self-supporting). I would recommend doing a test-bra first if you're totally new to sewing like I am, however, if you're a little more experienced, you could probably go straight at it :)
I have a 32FF that fits well enough to give some clues about my correct fit but I wouldn't want to base a new bra on it. My best lead so far is to shorten the strap on a pattern for a 32G. Hopefully I won't have to. This link has a couple and I think G=H. http://www.bramakerssupply.com/site2009/cart/shopdisplayproducts.asp?id=7&cat=Full+Band
Are you using a pattern for your bralette? I was thinking of making one of those too, but without hooks. Making it long in the back sounds like a really good idea. I'm shallow and firmish so it might work even though I'm out of their normal size range, but it would take an elastic fabric and I've never used that. It seems like something you could wing if you had to. Or try and get frustrated. ;)
I rarely sew but I knit a lot so I'm used to learning by doing (over and over), so I think I can do it. But at my level of sewings I would have to know exactly what the goal is before I start... :)
And hey, it's fun that there are others doing it too!

So I finally bought a pair of stockings for the garter belt to clip on to and after twirling around with my SO's eyes popping out, I sat down on the chair (LDR. If he's here I would not be sitting down...ahem, moving on).
And then the lower part of the plastic boning pops out. I mean, not popping out, but ... it sticks out, making me look like I have a set of very portruding pelvic bones.
Are basque only meant to be worn standing? Do I really have to pull the garter straps (it's attached to the basque) tightly and attach it to the stockings? The straps are already at their shortest settings, maybe I'm just short (5'5"), so they need to be shorter than the shortest they can get?
Will the problem of "very portruding pelvic bones" be solved by just taking out the plastic piece in the boning?
Once again, what am I doing with my life????

It has plastic boning? My experience with plastic boning is that it causes that unflattering protruding look that you're talking about. I try to get for pieces with metal boning for this reason; metal boning is strong enough to offer support, but plastic boning generally is not.
I have removed the plastic boning from a few of my lingerie items, and usually it works out okay. It's super easy to do; just a small slit on the inside, and then you pull it out. Generally, removing the boning doesn't affect the fit of the piece too much, but obviously without the boning, the piece won't be quite as structured or supportive (not that the plastic boning was giving you much support, anyway).
If you do remove the plastic boning and dislike the look, you can order metal boning online to replace it.
Yea I think I'm gonna take out the plastic piece. It doesn't do much for the whole structure, so I guess I'll be fine with the boning taken out. :D
I found a Panache Andorra Full Cup (5675) on the US Simply Be website for only $18, plus I was able to use a 30% off coupon! Of course, Simply Be uses the most ridiculous sizing translation, so I got it in a "36L", which would be a 36H UK... I think? I really have no idea ... what size will be arriving. Why do websites do this? I know the Asos US site does as well. If you want to confuse us with your bizarro sizing schemes, at least give us the actual size for those of us who know our true size or who are familiar with how a certain brand fits!

So what do you guys think about this type of bra, appearance-wise? Regardless if that's something you would consider wearing or not. I read on the comment section for the tutorial and so many said that it looked tacky and so on, I'd like to hear why if any of you think so Personally I ... think it looks pretty. http://3.bp.blogspot.com/-HarVh-OlZDI/UJgIwtjyKaI/AAAAAAAAAUM/ySXcxC9n10E/s1600/final.JPG
Also, I just recently bought a crappy little bralette worth about 5 British Pounds, I only bought it to use as a template. I have traced the cups because I made sure I picked a size that would cover my breasts properly (size XL). The cups aren't exactly sturdy, but they're not too flimsy for me either. I'm looking to make a pair of triangle cups from scratch using sturdier fabric, I'm thinking of using power mesh? Any ideas on what kinda fabric I could use for it would be highly appreciated Have a little looksie if you want http://prettynpetitej.blogspot.se/2013/07/random-little-bralette.html
When I traced the cups I made minor alterations, I shortened the cups a little and designed them to allow for wider straps as well (about twice the width of the straps in the photos). I haven't decided yet but I'm thinking about sewing the cups together a little in the middle to make the "gore" higher. Hmm... I'll have to see I'll for sure make a sturdier band design, 3 or 4 hooks, leotard back. Anyone got tips on where to buy supplies? I basically need everything you'd need for a regular everyday bra, except for underwires and underwire channels.
Pinging Branarchist, because I saw that you use power mesh on your bras, where do you get the fabric from?

Really cute bralette! Super curious about how it will look when done! I will order my fabric from here; http://shop.bwear.se/stretch-tyger/ Expensive but I figure it will be a good quality since it's a bra makers supply reseller :)
Oooh... Those are very expensive! O.o Will keep it in mind though! Here's a little album showing my very first attempt to make a bralette! :) It's actually the very first time I've sewed something outside of school, and I sucked at it in school. http://imgur.com/a/QGXFB#0

I am from the US and all of my bras have been bought in the US.(Olga, Bali, Vanity Fair,Maiden Form and Wacoal)( and my 3 Chantelles from Paris) I've heard that bras from the UK and Europe are much better in quality and I assume, more expensive. Recently I've been reading how Polish bras are ... the best. I know Ewa Michalek is a pretty popular bra here at Bratabase. But now I'm reading about bras by Nipplex,Comexium, Ewa Bein. Mardo, and Boccara which I believe, are all Polish brands too. Are these bras and Polish bras in general the best in fit and/or quality that there is? I'm just curious what any of you think.

If you have bony ribs like me and constantly experience wire pain, then you'll really like Polish bras. In the wire department, you'll really appreciate the construction.
I only have padded cups from EM. I really like how their bands sit a little bit lower than average so they're definitely the comfiest bras in my collection. If you like the green shape, you'll love EM and Polish bras in general.
As for quality of the materials, don't expect top of the line quality but they are definitely not cheap to say the least! The soft cotton inside the cups is really nice though. Definitely an improvement from US (and even UK) brands. The construction is definitely very good, better than any brands I've tried.
No type of bra is superior for all types of breasts. There is no magic country that makes bras that are amazing. US, UK, and Polish bras are roughly the same quality as long as they're within the same price point. That's the whole point of pricing things. They're worth the same. Remember that.
Polish bras work on some types of breasts and they are epic fails on others. But there's several brands. Some cannot do EM, but Dalia or Comexim works wonders. There are several UK brands and they all work differently on different types of breasts.
The reason why you hear so much about UK and Polish brands here on Bratabase is because they actually make a wide range of sizes, unlike any US brand except for Parfait. Because US brands don't make a wide range of sizes, they're constructed to hide bad fit in larger size, so they often have a weird shape on people who actually fit into the unicorn sizes that they do make.
Most of our expertise lies with UK and Polish brands, so those are the bras we tend to recommend, since we know which shape they'll work on. Shape is as important to fit as sizing is.
It's really hard to tell your shape from the pictures I can find of you in various bras, but it looks like you have shallower breasts, and thus Polish brands likely won't work so well (since they have narrower wires and deeper cups) on you. Instead, Cleo, Panache, and Curvy Kate might be better places to start with, just based off of the pictures I can see (by the way, for a better angle on fit, I recommend taking pictures with your arms akimbo as well as adding a 45 degree angle shot).

From what I gather, breast tenderness/pain is completely normal after/during ovulation/period, but is it normal to experience pain frequently?
I get it's probably normal for me to feel this way because I'm 17 and probably "still growing", but I'm not sure if it's exactly healthy if I experience it half the time + extra few days AFTER my period in my ... cycle. I've asked friends and most of them experience pain in much less magnitude (only breast tenderness) and less days than I do. I'm not in excruciating pain, but it's enough for me to stay unmotivated in my bed for hours.

The other day I went to the only DD+ bra store within driving distance (Eveden brands only) to try on a strapless bra. I go in, I tell the woman what I want, she asks me if I know my size, and I tell her it's 30G.
She stares at me for a moment and then says: "No. Absolutely not".
I ... was shocked. She told me "you look much smaller than that" and asked if I was wearing one of their bras. I told her I was wearing a 30GG from a brand that runs slightly smaller (I was wearing the SM Bezyk, which does many great things for my breasts, but making them look smaller isn't one of them).
I humoured her and allowed her to bring a 32F for me to try (Fantasie Smoothing, the only strapless they carry). Since I insisted I like my bands tight, she also gave me a 30, but she mistakenly brought the 30E. The 32F was a complete and utter fail in both band and cups, yet she pronounced it "a perfect fit". She reluctantly agreed to bring another 30, I told her to bring the G because I needed a larger cup, and she explained that "it's called FF". Of course the 30FF was as bad in the cups as the 32F, and I even struggled to close the band because of this. Eventually she brought me the 30G, which fit really well. She looked and said "oh, you were right".
Lest I suspect that I was the only person she had this problem with, I heard her having the exact same conversation with another woman while I was in the fitting room- insisting the woman needed a smaller size than she requested, bringing her the wrong size, then bringing her the size she'd requested in the first place, and being surprised when it fit.
The good news is, after such crap service I feel no guilt about ordering it online for half the price.

There's bullying about everything, what confuses me most though is when people don't even realize they're bullying someone or something.
Is voting down mean, if someone gives poor advice is it constructive or mean spirited to vote down. I voted down on what I considered poor/incorrect advice and the person erased to comment.. Now I feel bad.

That was prob. me, no need to feel mean. I'm not a fitting expert, so I just deleted it because like you said, if it's poor advice I'm better of deleting it.
I never vote down on anything. All are here to try to help the best they can and that's how I see it. Sometimes experts don't know better than an amateur, sometimes they do. Sometimes basic knowledge is good and sometimes we need to think outside the box. But I have even voted up on things being downvoted to take away the downvote. I find it unconstructive to vote down because the people that gave advise or wrote a review or whatnot did put time and effort into it. Why would I want to put it down? People do the best they can from their abilities. I assume good faith I think, and it's what I like to preserve <3

My favorite crazy bra color is orange. I have no idea why; I actually don't like orange as a color, but I'm strangely attracted to orange bras.
I don't even own an orange shirt; I pretty much don't wear anything but shades of red, pink, and purple. But yet, the orange bras call to me... I ... can't wait for Cleo Lucy to come out in Neon. My Wallyworld franken-bra, @Smart & Sexy Illustrious Lace Pushup Bra (85046) , is a crazy red orange. I couldn't pass up Cleo Lucy in berry because it has an orange bow.
What's your favorite crazy bra color?
Edit: Oh yeah, and how in the heck do I get the @ to actually make a link to a bra?

Have you seen the orange Tease Me and Thrill Me from a few seasons ago? You would like. . .
I love candy pink. The Marcie that's just come out seriously tempts me. Too bad I don't have the foggiest which size I need. I also love yellow. I had a Cleo George back in the day which was one of my favourite bras in terms of appearance.
I wear a lot of yellow clothing, I think of it as a very sunshiny, happy colour.

Have you ever heard about something like underbust line getting lower when standing up? Like you think it sits lower, because it obviously does and when you lean over it's even lower.
And then suddenly you just try to see what happens if you lift everything higher and then turns the lower outer boob quadrant into upper inner. And suddenly ... it works because all is fitted high enough?!
I still feel like I'm in some kind of hallucinating dream because higher up I can wear smaller cups and I still won't spill, I can wear smaller cups and get like good shapes that actually looks like boobs And I don't have any wires on breast tissue.
I don't think I need more than a cup depth of 32-33 cm. So my size range now is 32GG/H and possibly smaller.
After all that struggle, how could it suddenly be so easy?

That is so funny... a couple days ago I started doing this, because as you already knew I was trying not to over swoop and scoop. So I took some of my smaller bras and instead of stuffing everything I could into it (which would make the bras seem too small), I lifted the wires up higher than they usually sat, carefully lifted only the boob tissue and not the extra fat into the cups! I also wanted to try this to see if I could somehow reshape my root so it wasn't so side heavy. I tried this with some of my bigger bras and it caused a lot of gaping.
The reason I did all of this was because while standing, the root did look low but if I lifted my arms, I saw that I really didn't have much lower boob volume. Also this way the wires sat better under my arms. :)
Rawrrawr Haha, that's too funny :D So you also suddenly became much smaller boobed and higher on chest? :D
What is even more funny to me is that I seem to go pretty well with 32 bands in this way because wire's don't distort :O

Ok, so I've been plugging my measurements into various online bra calculators and I'm positively floored by the sizes they keep giving me!!! I thought I was a 36E but according to several reputable calculators including one here, I'm supposed to be like a 36Ff or G!!!!! I've seen some G cups and they seem way to big for me. But, I measure 35 around my rib cage and 44 across my bust in a non padded bra. Can I really be that off??

To put it nicely, yes :)
I measure 35 around my rib cage and 41.5 across my bust and I wear a 34G. You should easily be a 34H at the least or...depending how you like the band, a 36G. I do have some bras that look large, when not filled by breasts, but don't let the looks fool you.
I think because my breasts are bottom heavy I didn't realize that I wore a larger size. Elomi Caitlyn is my best fitting bra so far because it picks them up and brings them in from the side.

I had a fantastic birthday...My EM Cielus arrived, and over the weekend I was able to find an Elomi Tamarie that fit while visiting friends in St. Petersburg, Fl. I took pictures of both, but lost my phone, so I will add those as soon as I get a new phone. I am so happy with the lift and shape ... I get from the EM, although I could probably still go up a cup size. The gore does not tack, and the underwires are driven diagonally into my ribs. The Tamarie wires also dig in badly, and my surgeon noticed a tender area and some fibrocystic tissue where my wires sit. I am going to try bending them, and if that doesn't make them dig in less, I will try to open the channels and pad them. Biopsy went well, but with more tenderness and bruising than I expected...

Are they often tender?Something I found helps is a lymph drainage essential oil blend my local herb shop makes,I could tell you what's in it if you'd like to make it yourself.I also finds it can help with colds and sore throats. :)
They are not often tender, but the biopsy consisted of the surgeon sticking this giant hollow tube through about 6 inches of breast tissue to get to the lump, and wiggling it around, cutting up the inside of my breast. Nearly 3 weeks later the tenderness has not subsided, so that oil may be helpful, I would love to know what's in it.

Curvy Kate bras are shallow indeed, in my experience. Never tried much of them though because I need deep, not shallow.
I think it will be my one and only . I need to feel safe in a nice enclosed cup! Pretty material and nice thin feeling. Be nice if they made their cups bigger and they'd be perfect.

Venting here. Perplexed.
I received my second Juna bra in the mail today. I own a 28DD Juna (in Strawberry color) and I find the cups to be too short. They allow tissue to escape everywhere, and as the band stretches throughout the day I get armpit rolls and/or quad boob. Since the band is so stretchy but ... the cups are tight, I decided to order another Juna (in Nude), this time in 28E. As soon as I took it out of its packaging I began to worry, because it feels large, and its much heavier in weight than my Strawberry Juna. The 28E band doesn't feel anything like my other 28 bands (in Panache, Freya, and Cleo). I measured the band, and I put the two Juna bras side to side, and the 28 band looks like the proper length for the 28 size, but it has no "tightness". When I clip it, it doesn't feel like its "hugging" my body. I wear my first Juna on the very first hook setting, or the second at most. With this new Juna I hooked it on the tightest setting right away, and there's no grip or uplift. Also, the cup straps are MUCH longer than on the 28DD, and even though I've tightened them as far as possible, they're going to slip with this flimsy-feeling band.
Is there a known quality control issue with this brand, or is this to be expected when going up a cup size? Could I have gotten a "fake" somehow? My first Juna was straight from Figleaves in UK, but I purchased the 28E from a retailer on Amazon. The bra tags look legit, though.
The E cups fit better than the DDs, especially because they are higher on the sides, but they gape in front when I cross my arms...The gaping isn't enough to "expose" me, and I don't think it would happen (at least not to a noticeable degree) if the band was tight enough. Just crossing my arms forces the band to slip! The E cups fit me in a way I prefer for my squishiness...I get good breast lift and coverage, sans "milkmaid" jiggle. The bra looks wonderful under a t-shirt...so rounded and not saggy at all. Overall, I love the bra...I'm just upset about the loose band. I have a Rixie clip, but who wants to wear one of those? I don't understand why one 28 band could be nearly too small, while another is too big?

It isn't uncommon for different colors of the same style to fit differently. As you observed, the fabric feels different. I know that doesn't help you, though.
Perhaps the Juna isn't the right bra for your body? I got an ok fit in the Juna (the gore is simply too tall for me, as are the wires under my arms). I can wear it, and I get great lift, but it is uncomfortable after a few hours and I have gaping around the top edges.
If the Cleo line works for you, perhaps try another style?
Thanks! Yes, I like the Cleo line BECAUSE of the tall wires. They minimize armpit rolls, which I'm trying very hard to eliminate. (It's working!) I love the fit of the Juna's cups, I'm just disappointed that the band doesn't have any grip. I have an Alexa in 28E as well, and the band has great grip and it doesn't move on my body at all. I moved the straps over on my Alexa to accomodate wrinkling in the cups (I should have gotten a 28DD but the 28E was on sale), but Alexa's wires and band are perfect. I have a couple of 32 band bras that work for me because their bands are so firm, it seems odd that a 28 should be so flimsy. I would never have guessed that different colored fabric could make such a difference in fit. This bra journey never ends! :-)
I'd like to know this too ... I just ordered one :)
Nice Mireth :-) I ordered one full cup and one balconette too last tuesday . I'm in Australia and UK mail usually takes 2 weeks to get here for me. If you get yours first I would love to know !
