Bra shopping wishful thinking

I'm still looking for a thin bra for summer. I've ordered the Cleo Lucy in 28FF and 28G but don't think they are going work for me. I've received the 28FF and while it "fits" I can tell that the wires are too narrow at the top. I'm still waiting for the 28G (I ordered from Amazon for the free ... shipping and returns) but I think based on how the 28FF fits that the cups will end up too big.

In the mean time I hit up Nordstrom's to see if I could make do with any 30 bands. Yeah, that's not going happen. I fastened them on the tightest hook and they still felt like I could slip them off easily without unfastening them (not literally of course since my boobs would be in the way.)

Sigh. As soon as I find a job again I'm just going to order the Bravissimo non-padded half cups. They may not be mesh but at least they aren't padded.

Strapless Bras and Shallow Breasts

I...I think I found it. I think I found a strapless bra that works for my ultra-shallow boobs. It's not completely perfect, but I think that my new Ewa Michalak Strapless Toffi (91) is going to work well enough that I won't feel embarrassed to wear a strapless dress anymore. In fact, my strapless dress has never looked better on me! I'm a little bit in shock, and I will definitely be entering it into Bratabase here in the next couple of days.

- I agree ! The strapless toffi lift my breasts so much that allmost all my tops looks very (too much ?) low cut when I wear this bra under ! Do you have this too ?

Could someone in the UK help me order (not shipping outside the UK)

Hi ladies! Is there anyone in the UK who could help me buy a bra from a retailer who doesn't ship outside the UK? Obviously, I will paypal you the amount + shipping to you + shipping to me + any cost associated. I'm in the Netherlands, so shipping from the UK to here is quite cheap. Fauve Aurelia, I love thee

I'm wearing my 30FF Fauve Aurelia Padded Half Cup Bra (0191) right now at work, and oh it's so comfy and the shape is round. The matching underwear is comfortable as well despite it being a bit too big on me. Might scour the net for an S size! (I'm wearing M)

The band of the bra however is big on me. I can't cut it short because there's the lacy bit at the hooks, so I might do a basting so they don't stretch as much.

I'm in love with Fauve now.

Both of the bras I ordered came in today! Unfortunately neither of them fit. I was lucky enough to have bought the Cleo Marcie (6831) from amazon, so I exchanged it for free. The Cleo Lucy (5851) I got from a UK store on ebay and it would cost as much as I paid for the bra to send it back! I listed it here for sale, I hope someone can get use out of it!

I'm Finally Parting With Some Bras :'(

After organizing my "slightly" out of control bra collection, I finally started to list some bras. They are mostly Freyas, including a 30FF - Freya » Carys Longline (1313) and mostly in the 30F/FF range. I also have a Kris Line Mare Balcony that fits like a 28FF that I'm looking to exchange for any ... other Kris Lines, and a 30G - Cleo » Darcy Padded Balconette (6821) that I would love to exchange for a 28H Darcy. Apparently I don't want to give up on the Darcy model just yet. Maybe I'm delusional?

Anyway, it feels good to trim down the bra collection. This is only the first round! After all, I need more excuses to buy more Polish bras.

I was worried for nothing.

My Package finally arrived back at figleaves. It took the full 10 days from the time it landed, but it got there and I got my email today. Now I am just waiting for shipping notice. New sizes to try! My fingers are crossed for Marcie perfection.

In stores, I thought and was told I had size 70D, 70E or 70F, but none ever felt comfortable. After a couple of years of not wearing regular bras (because none would fit me right) and instead wearing all kinds of improvised 'bra constructions', like stretchy tops combined with a shelf bra or 1/4 cup bra, I decided I would ... have a bra made. It would cost me some, but it was probably worth it. In my search for a place that could do so, I came to a 'professional' lingerie store, where the people told me that my problem would be fixed by wearing silicone fillings for extra support. I hadn't worn a well-fitting bra in a long time, so of course, this would not end well. It resulted in me buying 2 70E bras (that indeed seemed to feel comfortable in the changing room) that each cost 100 euros. Then, when wearing the bras during regular, daily activities, the bra bands turned out to be so loose that I literally had to hold my bra in place when riding a bike or even walking down the street (it went gliding across my back in all directions). I decided to have it altered. After this, the band was snug. And the cups way too small! Of course, there was no return policy for purchases that resulted from being wrongly advised. The only thing the woman in the store could say was: 'Well, we can have the band loosened again so that the cups will fit again!' When I brought up the bike riding situation, she started talking about sports bras.

One good thing came of this: a friend whom I showed the bra fitting problems, told me about the bra matrix, and the way to break out of it. So since then, I am on my journey to a well fitting bra. What a relief! (Turns out I have a normal body after all!)

So far, I have tried the Ewa Michalak bras. An order of Comexim is currently on its way!

My first new bra after getting what I hope is my true size, a Cleo Marcie (6831) in Aquamarine, size 38G (UK) is coming in the mail tomorrow. I am excited and nervous! I sure hope it fits!

- I'd say breast tissue is heavier than fat, but the question is what is the fat/tissue ratio for each boob.
  
  Implants will not float as they are more dense than water (silicone or saline), natural boobs should float because fatty tissue is less dense than water. Of course there are many variations here depending on breast density.
- Er, breast tissue is a combination of glandular tissue and fatty tissue, the ratio depends on your age and breast maturity (aka have you had kids?).
  
  The glandular tissue is more dense than fatty tissue, but natural breasts would float because they're less dense than water and floppy.
  
  Most enhanced breasts are part natural breast, part implants... and the implants have roughly the same density as water so the implant breast would float too, albeit with less buoyancy than natural breasts.

Comexim Question Regarding Shipment Methods

Yesterday I let Anna of Comexim know that I would be placing another Comexim order, this time for the beautiful Comexim Geisha set! She sent me back a reply today, but she mentioned that I might want to do Registered Mail instead of Parcel Post, I assume because it's cheaper? So I am curious: ... those of you who have ordered Comexim bras, what shipment method did you go with? How long did it take to get your order and was it in one piece?

I have my misgivings, because the condition of the package my Comexim order came in was sadly hilarious in how abused it looked, and this was sent by the more expensive method. This actually seems to be a trend in packaging I receive from Poland tbh. One time I got an Ewa Michalak order that looked like it had been stepped on, opened and hastily taped back together! But really, as long as it gets in one piece I am fine, because I'm not in a huge hurry. My birthday is coming up, so this year I asked for... you guessed it, lingerie! And this order will be part of that, but it's not like it needs to arrive exactly on my birthday.

By the way, I just want to say Anna is a pleasure to deal with. If you have misgivings about ordering from them via email (which you have to do if you are in the US), let me put your mind at ease. I found the ordering process to be quite painless!

So many strap issues

Anyone want to help me write an open letter to popular bra companies like Curvy Kate, Panache, Freya, etc... about too wide straps? Lately, I feel like all I've been seeing is issues with too wide straps. I understand that some need wider straps on some people, but maybe there's should be a way to get narrower straps, ... like with shoe sizing, you can get the right length, but it won't necessarily be the correct width (for example, I'm a 9N (narrow) in US shoe sizing usually). I find that even companies that are supposed to have the narrowest straps are too wide for me. Is there a good way to write this kind of thing while being inclusive to bodies of every shape?

- Keeping in mind that those who don't have strap issues don't write posts about how their straps are A-OK, there is certainly a need for more bras with straps set closer together. However, I would avoid blanket statements that bras in general should have closer-set straps.
  
  I'm not at all fond of close-set straps because I like wide, scoop necklines, which have an unfortunate tendency to reveal bra straps at the shoulder. (I can't stand exposed bra straps.) Wider-set straps stay properly covered by my tops.
  
  As far as body-inclusivity goes, proper strap-width depends upon the natural width of one's shoulders — bone, not fat, in other words — so it's a good idea to avoid any implication that those who don't have strap-width problems are probably obese (I don't; I'm not) or that broad/square shoulders are unfeminine or anything like that.
- I wish more bras had close set straps but tbh these days I just choose certain brands and models that I know will work for me, at least in that area. Yeah, this means crossing Curvy Kate (whose cups are too wide anyway), some Freyas, and I can forget about bras like the Cleo Lucy (5851) that a lot of people rave about.
  
  I find brands like Ewa Michalak, Comexim and Kris Line to be more forgiving in the straps and wire lengths (but narrow cups may be an issue in some models). (I know not everyone can go the Polisg brand route). Also some Cleo bras like the Meg and Zia, and the Freya half cup/longline styles weren't as bad. This is just what works for me?
  
  I feel your pain, though. There's nothing quite like the sensation of straps trying to saw my arms off yay :(

My sister tried @ Wacoals @ Retro Full Figure bra in 36 G, she took pics and told me the band is snug on the loosest setting. The gore tacks, the underwire is under her boob and she said cup is comfortable , bra supports.

So now , checking out the Retro on Ebay

I was checking out Empreinte bras on HerRoom(http://www.herroom.com/empreinte,bras,empr01,001,23.html) and I noticed the price for their bras are about the most expensive I've seen. Do any of you have and wear Empreinte bras? And if you do, do you think they are worth the price? Could they be that much better than say Panache or Chantelle?

- I've owned a few Empreinte bras (I have a rich mother who desperately tried to discourage me from seeking reduction surgery by buying me expensive lingerie). They're high-quality, well-made and very pretty. For a while, when I still thought I should be wearing a 30 band, they were the most comfortable bras I could find.
  
  Worth the money? Probably not, in general. My breast size, like most peoples, tends to fluctuate enough that I retire bras long before they're worn out, simply because they don't fit quite right anymore. And honestly, as high-quality as Empreinte bras may be, I don't get the feeling like they're significantly more durable than, say, a Panache bra for a quarter the price.

International shipping

I usually lurk a lot at ebay.co.uk, and when something catches my eyes, they are usually always "UK only". This is when I send them a message asking if they are willing to ship internationally.

More often than not, the sellers are down for it. But some, it's always, "Sorry, I only ship to UK/Europe". And then the auction/buying time ends. And it is still not sold.

Seller, y u no want to take my money?! If I were a seller, heck, I'd ship even to Mars if it means somebody's buying my stuff.

Yeah, I love money.

Braventures

Trying to get caught up after a long weekend away. Had ordered a Bravissimo Alana 32GG which was waiting for me. I'm tired, road-weary, etc, but I popped it on. What a disaster. My left boob is trying to escape int eh center but has room on the side (despite scooping, resettling etc) and my right one gaps from the ... top edge to the nip. Will try again tomorrow.

However, on a slightly better note, I popped into the Nordstroms at City Creek Mall in Salt Lake City UT and asked about 32G or H bras. The saleslady tilted her head slightly and I thought, uh-oh here we go, but she was only thinking hard. Then she said: We have Freya, N by Natorie, Wacoal, and some Chantelle but not a huge selection in that size. I think we have Elomi too. Wow--no grief about crazy sizes, no push-back. Alas, I have tried those brands and have ruled them out for now, but what a welcome response!

Annoyance at bridal shower

I was at my sister-in-law's bridal shower today. Quite fun! She wears a 32DD (almost primarily from Victoria's Secret, but it is a proper size. She probably measures closer to a 30E, but is very athletic so going up in band size is necessary), and one of her gifts was a bra and panty set in that size (presumably).

As I'm ... sure you know from seeing a properly fitted 32DD, it's not a huge size. She admits she's fairly small in the boob area. It's not an unknown thing.

One cousin just blurts out "Whoa! How big ARE you?!" as if the bra were this massive, huge monstrosity that would engulf her whole body. (If only you saw my bra when it's not on me, cousin, and I'm only a 28G!)

One of the friends, whom I don't know at all so I can't comment, justifies this 'humongous' size by saying "Oh, it's Victoria's Secret sizing, so you know..."

I had to hold my tongue with the ignorant bra talk going around. Apparently VS sizing, to them, is somehow so wonky that you wear a totally different size in literally every single other brand. So sure, she may wear a 32DD in VS but OBVIOUSLY she's not a REAL DD, because DD is huge! She's OBVIOUSLY really like a 36B, because she's small. Ugh.

It was a shower with about 30 friends and family members, and I know my sister in law is in the proper size... so there was nothing I could do. I just had to rant to people who would get it!

- If they think DD is huge, they should see my 28K bras, or my new 65L from Ewa-Michalak with foam cups. My cousin who's 15 and quite flat chested (I'd say she's probably a correctly fitted 28B/C but it's really not worth fussing with trying to get that size when she's comfortable in a croptop/bralette) came over when I was making some alterations to my bra and her eyes almost popped out of her head! Her first question was "what size is that?" When I explained to her that it was a 65L, which is the same as an 8L in Australian sizes, her next question was "L comes after D right?"
  
  If people could get into their heads that bra fit is a science based on proportions (and an art based on getting you in the right shape), hopefully they could all get over the A= tiny and DD= huge.
- Nothing to add to this except that I can relate being that my boobs are between H-
  j, but I had to laugh at Ereshiy story- L comes after D... :)

No Braologie for me

Some of you may have seen my two Braologie full coverage reviews, or read my adventure about how Braologie wanted to refund me after those didn't work for me. I proposed that they could send me the Lacie instead, although I wouldn't be able to wear it daily as my breasts don't like being pushed together.

Well, they've looked at ... my photos and don't think the Lacie would work for me, either. It's disappointing, of course, because I was really looking forward to the posture improving aspects of the bra, although I remain skeptical about whether it can do that. On the other hand, it is good when a company knows the limits of their products and doesn't insist that they fit everybody (if only more companies would stop making the claim that they fit every body!). If braologie develops other styles of bras which would work for me, I would be interested in trying them; I'm not unhappy about my experience.

  Let me tell you, I have been wearing the thing since I got it, I had good posture to begin with, even Braologie said so. I had muscle pains in my back for the first three days I was wearing it. You know, the ones you get from working out. The thing really seems to work.
  Also, I am still not sure am I imagining thing, but it sometimes lookas and feels like migration is happening right before my eyes. I remember Branarchist said that the bra became too small for her within two weeks, and at the rate this is happening it may very well happen to me too.
  The bra is smidge too small wirh the pads in but I don't quadboob in it, boobs eventually just fall out in the middle. I got it two days before my period and it was like that. I figured it will be fine once my boobs blow out. However, it seems they never did. My period is over now, and instead of the usual blow out, my boobs stayed as full and as firm, but they just don't hurt and don't feel as heavy. I am not gaining weight, if anything I am loosing it sooo O.o
  
  Anyway, I think they are interested in a new fullcup construction so maybe there's still hope for you ^^

Sweet Revenge Lingerie Custom-Fit Cheetah Play Set Bra/Panty Review

This is the second set I ordered from Sweet Revenge Lingerie; please see my Bra Adventure below about the first one.

I love this set, too! I had the same problem with this one in that the weight of my breasts made the shoulder straps stretch out, so I had to have her alter them to make them ... shorter. The only thing I will do the next time I order this in a different color is that I will have her make the bottom band a bit tighter, as that is where the support comes from. Other than that, this is a great set for lounging around the house or sleeping in! With a tighter band it could be used for yoga, as well. The fabric is super soft, and she has lined the insides of the bra with a sheer black material.

This can also be worn as a half-cami, or like the Perfect Cami, where you wear it over your normal bra to give more cleavage coverage. Especially in summer when you don't want to wear two shirts, this can be great for modesty on hot days!
