Jj have you ever considered creating black or naughty list for people that are rude, they never appreciate the work you do for them (I had one person, she asked few times about different bras, I wrote essays on them and didn't get even thank you ) or they're saying I'll purchase then they delay it for few ... weeks and after that they just become quiet?
I'd love to have an option like that and let everyone see who isn't worth to deal with or at least to have it for myself so I don't forget all the nicknames
I'm sure is not only me who would appreciate this function 👍🏻

I second that. Also people you sent stuff to byt they don't even pick it up from the post office and it comes back or thye never add it to the database :(
@martka00 Good idea! If nothing else, a private notation for you to see, so you know & don't waste more of your time on that person in the future, right? Especially if profile names change.
This could also help to red flag male trollers who are on here & not because they honestly wear bras...... (That is not directed at those men who are genuine in their desire to research bras for themselves, their wives, or their daughters. Just towards those who create a false account to gain access to pictures & profiles for perverse purposes.)
A private note section could also help to add notes like "super helpful" or "great sister size info" etc for both buyer and seller alike.
A broad red flag for all may be risky & cause undue alarm, especially if it was a simple misunderstanding or even a lack of reply due to loss of internet which can happen. Yet a possible red flag for @JJ to see & track would be good. That way she can see if a particular person is a continued problem without raising alarm for all or creating social media type drama or panic, nor alienating someone altogether. Then she can handle it accordingly.
Sometimes we can read something that we construe as rude, when it's just our perception at the time, or even a mild language barrier. So a private note could be a happy compromise for the benefit of all.

I just lowered the price of every one of my bras! Comexim at 10 and 20 and the rest $5! If you buy multiple I will give you a deeper discount! Sizes 28DD-28FF and 30D!

Honestly, I do not like the message "your measurements are too old to use". I know remeasuring is very helpful for lots of ladys here, but for me its just a "Jupp, everything still the same". Since I got fitted in 2013 I am wearing the same bra size, mostly the same models still fit. The errors in measuring are much bigger than the changes in my measurements. So I end up adding the same numbers again. I miss a box to tick like "I promise that nothing has changed". Sigh

Jj thats not a bad idea - i do solemnly swear I'm the same size. Something.
That's gonna be a hard sell to me. It's like believing that people have read the terms of service when clicking the check box. I know I read them, but I can see how most people don't.
The measurements need updating once each 10months, if you know you haven't changed you could type them over again and get around it. Note that there's also room to add other measurements, like weight or custom measurements fields that you'd like to keep track of, could be anything (hair length, glasses prescription, etc)
If anything, what needs to change is how to make these measurements not feel horrible to take. Why is it dreaded? I don't know how to get around the fact that it's quite an annoying chore, but if it could be done on the phone before/after a bath, may be easier? ...

Just wanted to let y'all know I recently shipped a bra with USPS First Class, and shipping costs were only $3! This would be a good method to use for bra exchanges or give aways

If you're anywhere around the 30F, 28FF, 30FF, 32E range, please have a look through my listings and make me an offer! Most of these bras have been sitting in my drawer for months or years, unloved and taking up space. Discounts and deals if you buy multiple! I am open to some swaps, but the goal here is to own less bras - I don't need 50 sitting around...

Hi, everyone.
I had messaged a few people on Bratabase, weeks ago, possibly even just over a month ago, maybe.
But they had never teplied to their messages.
Is there another way I can alert them that I am interested in their listing?

Most people are uncomfortable selling to someone who has not measured any bras for bratabase (and hence have a low rep). Best thing is to input your current bras' measurements so you build that rep. Then folks might want to sell to you as they see you as a fellow contributor to the database.
But also some people havent logged in in a long time. Their listings have little gray exclamation marks on them, and if you click on the user's name you can see how long its been since they logged in.
also, it goes both ways. i had someone ask about a bra and then not ever respond to me again - i got back in like 2 days

Is there a way on bratabase to view a brand's entire database of measurement entries in all sizes? I only know how to browse measurements one size at a time. I swear I saw this done before but I forget, or maybe I dreamt it 😁

I don't know that you can do it for every style that a brand has, but I know you can do it for one particular model (ie. the Cleo Marcie) by going to that style's main page and then clicking "measurement table" in the top menu and that'll show you the average measurements for each size in that style.
That may be what I saw before, thanks

...oooohkay, somebody just downvoted a bra review I wrote a year or so ago.
It was short yeah, because I linked to a longer more detailed review for the same bra in my correct size. I had already written several reviews for the bra type (from Ewa, so frankly one Bm is much like another), and the system definitely encourages us to never leave reviews blank when adding bras.
But having reviews downvoted is also kind of strange. I hope we don't start seeing reviews downvoted because folks disagree...

Maybe they did it by mistake? I've actually downvoted adventures when I meant to upvote them. I immediately fixed it when I noticed but not everyone knows you can cancel a downvote by clicking again.
Anyway, I canceled out your downvote with a vote of my own. 😊
I turned off my notifications for downvotes. I follow anything that's current so if I get several downvotes I'll see them, and I don't need to know about any rando downvotes months or years after I wrote something.
I hope it was a mistake as well. I've written several reviews and would hate to think someone is critiquing the review rather than simply using the information freely given.
ETA: I bet it was a mistake. I was nosy and read one of your reviews. They're very informative.

What kind of photos help you the most when you're trying to learn about a bra? Any particular angles, worn or unworn, etc? I like the angle between front and side view of the wearer. It helps me get a rough idea of how closed or open on top this bra may be. Also like seeing the inside of the bra laid out, unclasped, bra band laid straight, the basic view! But any pic is better than stock photo, which often seems like painting or something, like I can't hardly glean any info from it.

I definitely like angle shots best for the same reason as you (seeing how closed or open on top the bra is).
Definitely angle shot and inside of the bra!

Hi! I'm trying to add a bra, but I'm having some trouble adding the size. On the label (the one sewn into the bra) the size is shown as:
XL/TG/EG
38AB-40A US/GB
85AB-90A EU
100AB-105A ES/FR
5AB-6A IT
16AB-18A AU
As well as a "summary" on the detachable label:
XL A/B Cup
How should I add the size? On one hand, the size is basically an XL..and I could add the information about the size equivalence in the review. Otherwise, when there is not a single size but a range, this might be useful for someone who is searching.

Yes, add it as XL, since that it the size you buy it as from the manufacturer's website.
The other size ranges are estimates they provide and translations.
Thanks for the answer, @JJ! I added the model: http://www.bratabase.com/browse/moving-comfort/uprise-crossback-300614606/details/ but I'm not sure if I could have added that it has S-XL sizing from the beginning, because if I try to add a new bra size XL, it gives me an error message for Incorrect size.. How could I fix this? Thanks for your help! 😊

Most of the listings here are priced reasonably but a small percentage of them are really overpriced. I can really relate to wanting to recoup one's loses from the expensive trial and error of finding a bra that fits. And some of these are just old, neglected listings. But many listings are available for the same price (or half the ... price!) at discount online retailers. In a handful of extreme cases some listings are clearly intending to make back the full retail price+shipping originally paid, even for an admittedly used bra. I read a bratabase blog post that sums up the economics of bra listings well: http://www.bratabase.com/blog/2014/aug/22/bra-economics-252/
It says bras are like cars in that they depreciate in value as soon as they are in the hands of the consumer, even if they are in essentially new condition. The more time a bra exists in the hands of its owner, the longer it depreciates. A bra cannot realistically be sold by the consumer for the same price a store sells it for. When you buy from the store, of course a part of the price covers the dedication to customer satisfaction and ability to make returns or get assistance. If given the option to buy a bra for the same price from a retailer or reseller, I think most people would choose the store unless there is some other advantage to buying from the reseller.
What are your thoughts on this? How do you determine what price to list your bras? What are reasonable price points for different types of used bras?

Because I sell mine for a fraction of what I paid, I loose money. I do this to help other people. However, once a Bratabase user purchased two of my nearly new bras and posted them for 4x more on Reddit. Never, will I sell a bra to that user again. Sigh.
I see some very optimistically priced listings on here. Maybe somebody out there will be willing to pay top $$$ for a used discontinued bra from ten seasons back. :D I find it difficult to sell anything and my prices are low, plus I throw in giveaways as well.

so i think i would really like it if instead of just asking how many hooks a bra has when adding a bra, it asked to also measure the height of the closer because almost all of my bras have 2 hooks, but vary in height from 1"-2.5", it makes a big difference on how tall it is for me, ... because the taller the back of the bra band, the worst the fit for me, and i know from reading peoples reviews on here that some people like a taller back on a bra.
so just saying, i think it might be a good thing to have added.
that is all

That's a good suggestion. Unlike you, I prefer a back band as tall as possible, including the parts containing the hooks and eyes. I'll add that info to my own reviews from now on.
no such thing as too many possible measurements in my opinion :P I also wish there were a inner cup height measurement, base to apex. but it is hard to measure and there would probably be too many inconsistencies. There could be like the basic bra measurements, and then an advanced measurements section since so many users already opt not to measure so I wouldn't want to overwhelm and discourage them.

Process-minded question here - I got a well-loved but still good bra online. The band is pretty stretched out, which actually works for me; in that band size I'd be using an extender otherwise. However, I felt...uncomfortable...adding both band measures to the database, as it might skew the averages for others. I know I rely on our database here - ... and the normalization of the data points can only go so far. Should I just NOT enter the 2 band measurements since they do not reflect a new bra measurements? Is there an asterisk or something if the measures are for a used bra? What is our practice?

If it's lightly used and so stretched out, I think the measurement is helpful. So many of us buy used bras, and knowing how a bra may stretch over is lifetime can be useful.
If its heavily used, its a bit less useful to include in the data I think.
In either case, mentioning it in your review is helpful.
I know I've seen the idea about marking a bra as new or used tossed around. There isn't anything in place right now though. I'd be curious to know why
I agree with annabellynn, mention it in your review. You could mark it as altered. I know you haven't done an alteration but a bra that has stretched out a band size is just the reverse of a bra that has been sewn a size tighter. It will keep the measurements out of the averages, but retain it for your records.

I am looking to move ALL of these bras so any bra you are interested in let me know what you are willing to pay for them.
The bras ship out of Washington, USA and will ship tomorrow if we get everything settled before the post office closes. The bras under $15 are 2/$15 and the rest are BOGO1/2! If ... you buy more than 1 shipping within the US is free. If you would like any photos or questions answered please let me know!
My best friend is getting married in a few weeks and I'd like to use this money towards a Nintendo Switch for her and her husband! (Best Buy in my area has been out of stock since they came out and Amazon is $100 more than Best Buy)
I will consider ALL offers, including swaps!

Thank you Jj!
Looking for bras for a friend. No resources. Has been wearing 38-something wireless from regular stores. Measures out at 34 band, 42 bust. Has a skin condition in which she has been afraid of "tight" clithing, but maybe the looseness rubs or trapped moisture... Found the right store, but would like to save as much as ... possible. We like goddess Kiera and @Kayla. Other recommendations include: goddess Adelaide and @Elomi Cate. We could start with UK 36:HH/US 36:L and work our way down to UK 34:J/US 34:M. She likes colors like: Red, @lemon, orange, @black, @brown. She's also mentioned @lime and @blue.

When I first started bra searching, I bought a lot of used bras.
Here are a couple of listings for a 36HH Elomi Etta Bandless Bra (8840) : http://bra.pe/GEj6/ & http://bra.pe/GEj5/
Typed measurement wrong, but size correct. My memory must not be what it used to be. I knew something wasn't right, but I couldn't figure out what it was.

i can't for the life of me find that page again, can someone help me?

I've had various bras listed on Bratabase for years, but haven't been able to be an active seller/trader because I'm away at school and don't want to bring all these bras across the country! At this point I doubt I'll ever get to it, but I would like to get these bras to people who'll appreciate them, and maybe make ... back a bit of the cost. Would anyone be interested in around ten (or a smaller number!) of bras, mostly in the 32:5 to 32:6 range for a reasonable price? Perhaps someone with a similar size to me wants a whole bunch of bras to try? Or someone better at and more dedicated to actively using Bratabase wants to try and then relist?
Almost all the bras are in good or new to me condition, from when I was trying to figure out what what works for me. Most are listed on my page—I will update soon, but wanted to float the idea now. I am happy to bundle by size or type—will make a consolidated list if people are interested. I'd try to sell at $5-15 a bra, depending on the bra and how many I'm sending to one person.
I'd appreciate any advice or suggestions!

You could always try eBay. Resellers will buy them in bundles (to sell one at a time) or someone that is in your size may buy also.
I'm sure you would probably like some money back but if you can't find anyone to buy women shelters accept bra donations. As another option I've sent bras to Sophisticated Pair (bra boutique) before for their donations for women in need. Good luck!
You could also try selling them on Reddit r/braswap. There's another sub where you can give them away, r/randomactsofbras.
I second LucyLove's suggestion of sending them to A Sophisticated Pair.
