• Ah, I see what you're saying. When uploading bra pictures we have special code that does a bunch of things (add watermarks, generate various size thumbnails, and others) and among those is to read the camera sensor information on the photo file. So we correct for it and the picture ends up straight (most of the time).

  All that code does not run for profile pictures since they just get put in place as you upload it. We don't read the sensor information, so what's happening is that in order to take your boobfie you're holding the camera upside down and the sensor is accounting for it. In order to get your boobs straight before I get a chance to fix this is to hold the camera in the opposite direction.

Potentially stupid question

I have bought a bra ( 30E - Fifty Shades Darker By Coco De M » Goddess Plunge Bra ) that fits fine in the cups... BUT.
The strappy decor cuts into my boob tissue. Do I confirm a fit on Bratabase or do I check 'cuts into breast tissue' ?

• I don't know the"rule" here, but you could mark it as cutting in first, then make a note in the custom fit details so it can still be marked as an otherwise good fit.

• My call is since the actual cup fits I'd mark it as fitting but make notes about the straps.

• i use Adblock Plus, so i never see adds anyways. so maybe if anyone has a problem with it they can just install that on their computer maybe???

  At least you can tell now if they're active or not to prepare your heart on what to expect.

  We do send email reminders when the listings have been on for too long, but they dismiss them or put them for later or maybe we go to spam?

  no idea. I'd still try restarting your computer and see if its still there. I sometimes get really weird glitches in word or something, but rebooting fixes them

• nope, restarted the computer and i use multiple computers to use bratabase. it's just this website :( i noticed it ages ago, but never said anything until now.

• Looks great :-) We humans and our aptitude for change fit a Bell curve. So, I expect close to half of us may not like the changes. I'm on the other side of the curve and have liked the changes for months ;-) Thanks for all you do, @Jj!!

• naw, i'm talking about my profile page that everyone sees, some people have a message link that looks like an envelope and i can't get my profile to look like that. :( when i click on your profile, yours has one, it's blue.

• Yes, it is due lack of rep you get only a few follows, that is to protect the site from creeps/stalkers.

  Posting adventures won't get you much reputation, what works best is adding bras and getting them to 100%, that will boost you the fastest :)

Did you enable the "new" top menu?

Sometime last year I added an option to the preferences to enable the "new" top menu.
I did that to phase out the older looking green top menu and old logo. I advice getting acquainted with it because soon it will be the default for everybody

• I don't believe I ever looked at the preferences page before. Just switched to the new top menu. It's really clean looking.

  Could you make sure pop-up notifications (e.g, when you just entered measurements for a bra) don't end up covering the menu?
  I often have to wait for these notifications to disappear after 1 second before being able to click the menu again, and it's a little disturbing.

• This has happened to me several times, too. I try to use the same amount of force each time to help maintain repeatability in my measurements, but sometimes they vary widely from other's measurements. SIgh.

• The verifications are a way for us to double check. I think we get an alert if the stretched measurement is not at least 10% bigger than the unstretched measurenent.

  When you get a verification email, there will be a link to your bra and a button there that you can click and just confirm your measurement. That tells us that you're right.

  The way you're stretching sounds correct, it may be a tighter bra. Looking at the data every other entry seems to have a stretchier bra than yours so that probably is what raised suspicion:

  We need all the data we can get, the more bras the better if yours is still an outlier, when we get more bras measured then it will further validate your entry. We just don't have a way other than looking at other data and question it, that's why we ask you to please confirm for us :-/

  Don't take is as a "you're doing it wrong", but as a "We re confused, can you please confirm and help us"

Help with blog posts!

Hi, everyone!
I'm not asking anything bra related today, I just wanted to know if anyone knows a way to delete your blog posts at the "recent posts" directory.
The reason is because I'm creating a new lingerie dedicated blog, and I would like to delete all connections to my old blog to make it anonymous! :/

• Channels? Not sure what you mean? Perhaps it's in your profile options? If you are comparing bras it's under the measurements of each bra. Probably a more direct way to find it but that's how I do it :)

• Also if you think channels has something to do with recommendations? I think maybe there was a place you can change how close an estimate it has to be. But the recommendations are not super accurate anyways. I usually only have 1 and its a bra I already own.

• On the review page, there is a box at the bottom that says "share to front page as an adventure (what is this)." You probably clicked it by accident once. You can either do it that way or you can use the default date titled box above that is shown at the top of this and the main page. If you title a regular adventure and then describe your review, you can then click "add a link" and copy and paste the url for your bra. The url is at the bottom of the main page for your bra entry where it says "share this link." One additional quirk I discovered - if on either the "add" or "manage" pictures part of your review you check the box "Make pictures visible next to my bra information" we can see your photos with your text review both in the adventure and in the general review. Otherwise, the photos are "anonymous" in that only the size and colour description help people find your particular photos in the full photo array under the bra model.

  I usually prefer not to post a review as an adventure until I have been notified that the photos have been approved as the pics can be essential. Plus, if you use the add link function, you can have a discussion about a specific issue related to the review, but not directly and permanently tied to it. The usual response is to reply to the adventure comment rather than the review itself.- depending on how you want it organized.

• What maddy2596 said! Although I'd advice understanding about the 2nd method. And yes about the pictures! That makes the adventure much more interesting to scroll :)

  The important bit about a review shared as an adventure is that the text and information your provide *as well as the conversation that follows in the comments* is also present and properly classified under the correct brand/model/size so days later when the adventure is back on old pages, your review is still faster to find when people actually go search for specific information about such bra.

  Sharing the link of your bra in a new adventure ensures that the text you type on the adventure body is *not* part of your bra review, so any insight and comments that happen on it won't be easily found by people that want to learn more about the bra. Your bra will remain as if it wouldn't have a review written.

  If you have bras that don't have reviews written yet, you will find them available on the adventures category options. If you look at it it will have a title "About one of your bras" and then it will list all your bras that still don't have reviews written. Writing an adventure classifying it as your bra is effectively the same as what Maddy described about using the "share to ftont page as adventure" option. It is just a shortcut.

  Writing the review on the bra and using that option is actually the preferred method, since it also allows you to link a blog review if you're a blogger, and if in the future reviews become richer, all the options will always be available on that screen.

Problem with blogger gadget!

My blogger Bratabase gadget is broken and has been for a long time. Every time I try to re-add the gadget, it says

"We are sorry, this gadget appears to be broken.

This gadget has errors and cannot be used until fixed"

What should I do?

• Probably Blogger changed how things work and the current gadget is outdated.

  I'll have to look at it. I've been wanting to retire the old gadget (the fancy one that blogger used too) in favor of the simpler image only one.

• Sometimes, it is easier to just go to the model and size and click "I have one of these" under the measurements. It will auto-populate data--easier. ;-)

• That's exactly what I did! It still wants me to input the size though. I'll try it again, maybe if I navigate all the way to an Ingrid in my size?
