The fit itself is pretty good, but it's a shape mismatch for me. I believe I have a lower breast root, so while I fill out the cup, from the middle on down, the top has extra space. The straps on this bra are a bit far apart and fall down a lot. The wires stop below the actual top of the bra cups, so it has a hard time containing my tissue, and the wire pokes into my armpit. The quality is alright for the price point, but it has stretched out a lot in the two months I've owned it.
I've had this one a while and only just got around to writing a review because it doesn't exist on Bratabase yet. It was my go-to for a while, but I think the combo of having outgrown it a bit and the band stretching out means it's not long for my closet.
The Good: It's really pretty. The black mesh is embroidered with large red flowers across the cup, and the mesh detailing is sporty. The wires aren't too wide and for a seamed foam cup the projection isn't bad. It creates a nice silhouette under clothes (like Comexim but less minimised) and it's relatively comfy. It has the ...best nip coverage of all my current bras, and is a good cut for my FoT shape.
The Bad: That pretty mesh at the base of the band rolls up and gets itchy, the gore is just a smidge too wide and these days the cups are too small so the gore doesn't tack. It's a 30 band and I started on the tightest hooks, so its life was always going to be short, and in its defence, it didn't stretch out as quickly as a Cleo or a Freya.
The Ugly: Nothing really. I'd take the punt on a Boux Avenue 28F now if I could find a cheap one.
This workhorse has had a good life and been a good bra. Now it's saved for work shifts when I know it'll be sweaty and I don't want to ruin a Comexim, but still want something comfortable. Read more 145 more words
Surprise!! It is now December 2018, and this bra has actually fit since June!! It sat waiting to be sold for nearly a year, when I was at a distraught place with a new body weight and breast size and all my bras rapidly becoming too big (weight loss was healthy and intentional, but having nothing to fit sucks!!), so I was trying on all my previously too-small bras to see if any would fit... And BAM, new bra!! The fit was really close! But as I always hated that, for a plunge that's supposed to induce cleavage, it sure as hell had a really wide gore. The ...straps were also too wide, so the infamous foam cup gapping was happening. So.... I altered the bra!! It was something I had always thought about, but was scared to do. I sew partially for a living, and couldn't do a hack job... SO.... Go on over to my other listing of this bra with alterations and see how it went... https://d28qt14g3opchh.cloudfront.net/smileys/icon_wink.gif" alt=";)" />
------------- Older Oct 2017 review below.
So sad. https://d28qt14g3opchh.cloudfront.net/smileys/icon_sad.gif" alt=":(" /> As you can see, it is a MUCH bigger difference, in both size and shape, than the 30E. I expected just one cup down, but this feels like 2 or 3 cups smaller (30E was about a half cup too big). The apex is more than an inch lower, and the side of the cup and wing much lower as well. Somehow, the cups felt more separated though. The band was shorter but stretched longer. Wires nearly the same width, but significantly shorter and MUCH shallower cups. Here is my comparison, and I included photos of them side by side to show how huge of a difference they have. http://bra.pe/CLr9/ The color is a bright neon pink, not the fuchsia as listed on Boux Avenue's website, which was a disappointment as well. Not quite as good in quality of wing mesh, thinner and shorter straps, and significantly shallower and shorter in cups. I admired this so long, I am SO sad it won't ever work. :'( Boux Avenue is very cruel with their shipping costs and return policies, so returning is sadly not an option. It's still a good bra, just not the right one for me. Hopefully someone else can find this a cute bra to add to their closet! Read more 290 more words
I was so upset Chloe Lace Balconette didn't fit me. But surprisingly, this Chloe plunge bra actually fits me. The bra has removable inserts. The only bad thing is not wearing the removable padding kinda gives a pointy profile... Though I don't really mind as much. The band in this runs tight, which is good for me since my UB is 25-26.
I know that this bra doesn't fit. It's from my pre, ABTF days and I get serious quad boob and side boob! But I'm going to be bad and say I really don't care becuase it is just so pretty and that is why I bring it out still every now and then.
The band is a bit snug on me. I measure to be a 26DD but I purchased at 28D and the band is still a tad tight. It is fine to wear and I have no issues with it being a bit tight, I just wanted to note it. It has great lift and comfortability.
This bra looks really cute, and it comes with no extra padding on the inside, which is nice for a change! That might be the reason why this doesn't fit me however, as it ends up having more depth that the Boux styles I have tried. Because I don't quite fill it out, it ends up looking kind of pointy on me. Too bad, this would be quite cute if it fit well.
Oddly full-coverage for a plunge bra (top edge sticks above edges of tank tops). Inner edge would be too closed to create good cleavage without quadding. Wires a bit too wide but not bothersome. Fabrics are REALLY pretty and that rose in the middle is awesome!! Straps are a good width, but are itchy by end of day. Cup seams make the cup a bit pointy but looks fine under clothing; also lined with itchy fabric and seam binding. Apex is filled, only a tiny bit empty space at bottom and sides, only a tiny bit gappy when slouching, so great shape for me. Band is REALLY tight ...for a 30; a max stretch of 28.5" is a bit tight on me, with an underbust of about 28," but I find this a trend in Boux Avenue. Gore is nice and low, no stabby stabby into sternum.
Overall, it's pretty, and fulfills my desire to have cheaper sexy/cute/lacy bras like I had before I properly fit myself. https://d28qt14g3opchh.cloudfront.net/smileys/icon_smile.gif" alt=":)" />
*Edit, Oct 6th, 2016* The band fabric has stretched out quite a bit already. (I wear it every 2-3 days usually.) I guess I shouldn't be surprised since the price is low and quality not necessarily the best out there! Now the unstretched measurement is 24 inches, and stretched 31 inches!!! That's QUITE a difference in one month! My new advisement is to get the size you usually do, rather than sister size up, and just use an extender until the fabrics relax. Read more 147 more words
This bra has very wide-set straps, it comes with a J-hook but it is very painful to wear. I find the straps always fall off, the top edge of the cup sits way too wide on my body, sometimes digging into the side of my armpit. The top edge gapes as it is too wide. The gore, which is tiny, doesn't sit flat, about an inch and a half away from my body. I don't really like this bra but there is so little choice for a 28D/DD anywhere. Alas, the bra is exteremely comfortable, band wise.
I looked at every one of your pictures. I think you have an extremely projected, bottom heavy breasts. Because of this, you are wearing all of your bras far below wear yout IMF, your breast would probably force the bra to sink down that low because it is trying to find room. Try an Ewa Michalak or Comexim bra. All of the bras you have tried are too shallow with too small of a cup which is why the Gore will not tack and when you push it in you quad boob allover. I HIGHLY recommend non padded bras as you will actually be able to find one that fits without having to buy polish bras. Being flat chested has nothing to do with being projected or shallow.
What a pretty bra! It is a moulded, seamless plunge with a HUGE wedge of thick, thick padding at the base of the cups, which makes it very shallow at the bottom, this isn't good for me as I need a bra with a fair bit of space at the bottom. This is why the bra gapes on me.
Very cute. This bra definitely fits more shallow that my other bras from Boux Avenue. The width seems ok, but the depth might be borderline (almost too shallow for me, and I am shallow and wide roots). When I scoop and swoop my nips peep out over the top of the cup! But after some time, everything seems to settle in place and things don't poke out. I think the cut (this particular plunge) may be just too low for me, as it doesn't give good coverage, however I am happy enough to keep this for now, and am thinking of trying 28C. The band ok for me on the tightest hook. Update: One downside is the straps are quite uncomfortable, the strap started to hurt and cut into my shoulders after half a day of wear. The side of the straps do seem a little sharp. The straps themselves seem quite short too as I can fit into the bra but can't extend it much further, compared to other Boux bras.
What a difference!
