Lovely bra, one of my new favorites. It gives a lot of uplift and minimizing effect, making your silhouette pretty sleek. And it's super comfy! It seems to fit the same exact way as the Boudoir Beau. I must wear a 36K in Bravissimo balconette bras due to them running about one cup size small compared to other UK manufacturers.

Love this bra because for the most part it IS comfortable. But I do get horrible red marks on my underbust, but if I change sizes it doesn't accommodate my breasts enough. Straps feel like they're too wide on me, as they have the tendency to fold in half if I'm wearing it for a long time, or doing a lot of lifting (manual handling job). However I can't fault the colour and it does was well.

Was fitted into this bra by bravissimo covent garden in february 2014 so measurements may be off as the bra has stretched a little.
Overall it's a nice bra but i feel like it could do with a slightly wider band to distribute the weight more. Also recently i've found the bra to be more tight and the gore has started to dig in a little but not uncomfortably, though that may be due to weight variation and tissue migration. I feel like the quality is oke but not the best and that the bra has almost run its course and is almost ready for the bin.

I am a fairly even and projected breast shape. I have average-to-narrow roots with a slight omega shape. My best fitting bra is a Cleo Lily in 28GG, though I think a 30G would be more comfortable in terms of band length.

This bra has a great shape for me and fits similarly to the Lily. I probably should have gone with a 28GG, as it fits similarly to Cleos.

A very cute swimsuit! It doesn't have a "wow, that really looks like a bra" design, which is great. The colour is much less pink than it appears in stock photos, being a bit more orange/coral coloured - particularly ... in the sunlight.

I was waffling a bit between getting the 28G and the 28GG, as 28GG usually fits me better in Cleos and 28G works better in Freya. I ended up getting the 28G, which I think was a safe choice even though I'd love to see how the 28GG would have fit. The gore doesn't *quite* tack, but I do not get quadboob or anything. If anything, it's just a little bit of cleavage - which is no bad thing when you're out on the beach. Overall, I feel happy with the shape it gives me. It's not quite as supportive due to the neck tie rather than traditional straps, but it's cute.

The one design choice I don't like is that the sides feel like the narrow down too quickly after the cup. It looks a little sudden. It could use one of those little side-bonings you see in most normal bras.

The outer fabric can be a little scratchy when you're putting it on, but the lining is soft and almost silky. It's fine after you've got it settled down.

I will say I wish they offered this in other colours, though! A nice blue would have been great.

  6. Satine Bra (AU15)

The bra is rather elegant with its satin luster and minimal decoration.

Since I usually wear a 40 band—and the Bravissimo Satine (AU15) maxes out at 38—I purchased an extender to use with it. It turns out, however, that the 38 fits me well and I don’t need to use the extender with it.

Since the start of my bra-fitting journey, I’ve been on the hunt for a well-fitting plunge bra that supports me and also creates some cleavage. This one is not perfect on either of those criteria, but it isn’t bad either.

The only issue I can really discern is that the bottom of the cup ... is very shallow and so the band tends to try to push itself down a bit on me. Although I can’t really pinpoint any other fit issues like noticeable gapping or wrinkles, etc., it somehow simply *feels* like the cups are a hair too big. Maybe I’m just accustomed to more compression in a plunge style? There’s a good chance that a 38HH would be too small for me, but I may just give it a try someday.

I really like this bra. It's very comfortable and adorable. The pink bra straps are fun and the watercolor texture is great. My gripes are that it does have a tendency for the gore to dig into my sternum when I lay down- and that the straps are highly visible under tank tops because they're bright pink. Which is a plus for how cute the bra is, but it's also a negative when wearing it with some clothes.

Black strappy top by Bravissimo with built in bra bought years ago, worn and now been lying in drawer as no longer fits. It is very short in body ~32.2cm back down centre measure and about 34.5cm measuring down centre in front, these measurements exclude straps. It is well used in past but still can be worn by somebody who loves strappy tops. Band is stretchy. I felt insecure with these straps as usually would wear bras with wider straps.

I tried this in 38J, 38JJ, and 38K. The 38J actually looked and felt a lot better than the other sizes, but it gave spillage out of the top so, unwearable. The K was obviously too big, so here I am with the JJ. I don't feel very supported in it and don't like the shape it gives me. I can wear it without an extender, but it is more comfortable with one.

Short review: I hate this bra. I hate how it looks more specifically. It performs similarly to an Elomi Caitlyn Underwire Side Support (8030) but worse overall in support. The band sizing seems ridiculously off (I could barely fasten the 32 but for some serious hand strength and I can wear 30s).

The only good thing is that the cups do seem like an L in size.

    • I just spotted this bra on Ebay and had to check for reviews. I'm a bit confused by the band measurements, it sounds more like a 28 band! Did you buy it from Bravissimo directly? Is it possible that it was mislabelled?

    • I bought it from Bravissimo directly but the band seemed SO short that I wonder if it wasn't just a mess up somewhere. It almost seemed like part of the band was really short (look at the left side in the picture in the review, it was so short on one side). I would hazard a guess that it was not intended to be so short, because I could barely fasten it at all. I'll also add that I'm terrible at stretched band measurements and have stopped doing them.

    • So I noticed with my recent Bravissimo trials that many of their bands run a bit smaller than one expects besides on the Alana. (Okay I tried like 3 bras, but I found the Boudoir Beau and the Floral Haze to be surprisingly tight)
I really think it's a good thing with the tight bands, more options for those at the end of the size range. But... 28inch on a 32 band? That is quite crazy.

    • Normally, I'd say their bands and cups (except for the non-balconette cups) run only about one size down, so idk if that was intentional or not.

I got this bra from a friend. It's ok. It's bigger (in every aspect!) than other bras I have in the same size, plus there seems to be a lot of this bra: the wires come out and up farther than usual, the gore is on the high side, the band is not exactly subtle in size. That does mean that, despite that it's a bit too big for me (the band is a little looser than I prefer, and the cup wrinkles on the side where the seams are, gapes a little on the outer sides of the top) the support is still decent and the bra ... stays in place. After scooping and swooping, it seemed like the right cup size, and it doesn't look too big sitting/standing up straight, but the largeness is noticeable when leaning forward and moving around. This makes me think maybe a 28E or a 30DD would have been a better fit. Other than that, I do like the shape, which is nice and round. It seems well-made and it holds up pretty well over time. I have to say, though, the lace on top is really noticeable under thin or tight clothes. The seems do not show through.

  14. Belize Tankini Top (SW100)

I like the color of this swimsuit, and there are advantages to a tankini if you want your stomach covered but don't want the hassle of a one-piece when it comes time to go to the bathroom. Unfortunately, the tankini top constantly rolls up, exposing my tummy. If I wanted that, I would have gone with a bikini! I don't recommend it if covering your stomach is your intention. It is also very obviously contains a bra. I prefer a swimsuit where it isn't so obvious - one where the seams of the bra aren't visible from the front.

But I needed a swimsuit ... to replace one which was about five years old, worn, and many cup sizes too small, and of the ones I ordered, this one fit the best, so I kept it.

I find the band a bit looser than other Bravissimo bras like the Fleur and Contour strapless, but similar to the Satine and Rococo charm. This is my standard size in most bras.

Note: I am writing this review in January, 2013, several months after the swimsuit was purchased. I have given my initial review and fitting comments based on my notes about the fit of the swimsuit near the time of purchase. Since the swimsuit was purchased, my breasts have grown and the swimsuit no longer fits properly. Below are my comments on the current state of the swimsuit:

I haven't worn this swimsuit since my breast growth because it is winter. I expect when I do I will have quad-boob.

Update, 2014: I wore this in the summer of 2013 and was disappointed by the way the tankini kept floating up whenever I was in water. It really needs snaps or hooks to attach it to the bottoms. What's the point of a tankini that exposes your stomach? I may as well wear a bikini! I dislike this swimsuit so much that I already replaced it.

This bra is great! The 30GG fit me as well, but I sized up to prevent quadboob while in motion since my boobs are so soft. This is a gorgeous but simple comfortable bra, works well as a t-shirt bra or under more formal things. Plus, Bravissimo keeps putting out the same bra in different colors and styles, so if it works for you, you're in good hands!

I've been keen to get my hands on a Bravissimo half cup for a while, as I thought it was my best bet of trying out a half cup with Ewa Michalak's styles being a bit too small in cup volume to be likely to work. I got this bra second hand from another user who'd worn it a few times.

Bravissimo's half cups in this size range consist of 4 vertical panels with the outermost one being the tallest and connecting to the strap. The straps are sturdy, wide, and fully adjustable. The bra fastens with 3 rows of 3 columns of hooks.

The bra is super lively ... and colourful! It reminds me of tropical birds, which makes sense considering the name. The seams don't really show up under tops, but the print does, so you'd need a thick top or a second layer with almost any colour you wear.

The band of the bra is too big for me, which is totally unsuprising considerding my snug underbust measurement is less than 28". There's no 28 bands above a J cup in Bravissimo, and the half cup ends at a J anyway, so this was my best chance to try out the cut. The wires are quite a bit too wide and the straps are set a long way apart, which means I need to angle them to stay on my shoulders. However, the shape the cup gives is great! I feel lifted and supported. It works well on my firm, slightly fuller on top breasts. The trim on the top of the bra cuts in a bit, but I suspect that sizing up would just end up with me having an even wider cup and not much more room on top. As-is, I think it would make a nice special occasions bra for someone who is fuller on top with a medium-wide root. If the straps were a bit closer together, it could even be an everyday bra, the design seems to be quite good.

I'm planning to try some alterations on this, as the overall cup shape is good to see if I can get a better fit.

    28HH-J

    Fits

With Bravissimo doing 28 bands, I jumped at the chance at trying this. I measure about a 28HH-J and I think it runs true to size. I suffer from pain during bed time and thought this might help.

    Measurements:
    Front Length: approx 17inches/43cm
    Back Length: approx 16inches/41cm
    Mid-Point Width (below cup/band elasicated area): 14inches/37.5cm
    Band Clasp Thickness: approx 2inches/5cm
Band Thickness at Sides: approx 5inches/13cm
Band Thickness at Front (where bra gore normally sits): approx 9inches/23cm
Height of Elasticated Band Section at Sides + Front: 1inch/2.5cm

Fit of the Top: The top comes up higher than I expected so there's not much cleavage on show (which I like as I feel comfortable wearing it over at friends' ... or my in-law's houses). On the waist, the top is reasonably baggy but does not hang off of me and fits well; just what I want in a pj top. For reference I am a UK size 10.

Band: The un-wired band is comfortable and firm enough. The material is soft and thick and good quality - which you want for the money. There are three hooks at the back that are spaced out on a thick band. On further wearings, I think I would prefer a tighter band but, for a decent pyjama top, it is good.

Shape: Provides some uplift although the elasticated bra area has collapsed at the bottom which is disappointing. I believe that this may be because I have projected, very firm tissue and the area where is is collapsing might be too shallow for my shape (full-on-bottom). Would suit someone with softer tissue.

Straps and Wings: Nice and thick with pretty lace detail although they do seem to take weight of my breasts which, after wearing for several hours, gets a little sore but then it was not made to be worn like a day top. The straps are a bit short for me though - being non-adjustable while the wings come up high; I am of average height (about 5"6). After a few wearings, I have found it uncomfortable to wear in bed due to the short straps when lying on my side and often move the straps away.

    Didn't fit

Review of Alana in Black. I measure around 28HH; round, close-set, Full-on-Bottom and Top (Even). Aware that Alana is cut quite tight across the top and typically a Full-on-Bottom style. Definitely is from my experience here.

Band: Nice thick band and straps, the latter of which I thought I would not like but they are comfortable although placed too wide – like all this bras in my size – and I found it very painful (like the Black Alana 28J and White Alana 30H I tried). Have read other views who find it painful. The band is tighter than other 30s due to the black dye.

Gore: The gore ... kinks to the side – mostly my larger left – or sometimes digs into my right breast so I need to re-adjust, although it is not too painful

Profile: I like the shape of it although it is different to the rounded Cleo profile I'm used to. I would say it is a uplifted shape of the blue profile Bras I Hate and Love writes in the her blog post "What exactly is a good shape?" = http://brasihate.blogspot.co.uk/2012/01/what-exactly-is-good-shape.html
It is a nice shape for a basic day-to-day bra and it feels like a very pretty everyday bra.

Cups: Because of how tight it crosses along the cup, it does cut a bit into my breast tissue at the top despite the lace itself being lose - a possible combination of tall root and Full-on-Top as it seems to affect my left side more (which is where I more FoT than right side). Right side fits better than the left, no cutting into tissue at top – well, ever so slightly. It is quite a tall cup as well and does show under tops with a more open neck, something to be aware of.

Result: Creases underneath due to the wire wires (when I distort them, it seems to disappear) and the straps and gore are too painful plus I'm not sure if the bra shape is right for me, despite wanting to love this bra so much.

This is the second time I have reviewed this size and model, I thought I ought to as there is a slight size difference. This is slightly fuller in the cup and the band support is greater as it is new compared to the other which I reviewed, which is at least six months old and near its expiry point.
