I LOVE this bra so, so much. It is the best fitting, most comfortable bra I have ever owned and I am GUTTED that Bravissimo have discontinued it. If anyone knows how/where I can get hold of one (or several!) in a 36HH, or can point me in the direction of equally comfortable, uplifting bras from other brands, I would be everso grateful
I found this for cheap on ebay, and since it had been out of stock at Bravissimo, I decided to give it a try. I wasn't completely sure that this would the right size, but it was worth a shot. I've been eying this bra for a while and just had to have it...
Fit-wise, it's so-so. The band is definitely too big, so I'll have to take it in. The top of the cups dig in slightly when I breathe deep but under a shirt it looks fine. You do have to position yourself just right in this bra, or else it tends to wrinkle around the nipple ...area.
As to the bra itself, it's very pretty and it gives a youthful, perky shape. Nice amount of uplift. There is a slight pointy-ness, but it's not super noticeable at this size. Very retro, which I like. Also, the seams are pretty flat, so I can wear this under thinner shirts as well. Overall, I like this bra, but I feel like I'd do best in a 28GG or possibly 28H. Too small cup. Also, too large upper section, so I won't bother getting this in a bigger size. I like the material of the bottom section though, quite sturdy and gives a good shape at the bottom. If that section was bigger, it could have been good. Band was not that snug.
Omg, huge upper section! Almost all if it is upper section, which makes the downward curve so much larger than the bottom, uplifting curve https://d28qt14g3opchh.cloudfront.net/smileys/icon_sad.gif" alt=":(" />
Band feels good, though, plus size friendly https://d28qt14g3opchh.cloudfront.net/smileys/icon_smile.gif" alt=":)" />
"sad boobs" though: The top section is so much bigger than the bottom, so the top curve sloping down, is bigger than the lower section, which is where I get the uplift from. This is not as bad as on some of the others I got in this round, though.
Like the "regular" Satine, this bra did not work out for me. It was clearly the right size, but it just didn't do much for my boobs; they looked a bit sad in it, just like I wouldn't wear a bra at all (this problem could also not being solved by adjusting the straps). I liked the colour and pattern though.
The ivory colour is very nice, especially for people like me who look rather sick in pure white. I also liked the satin fabric. Unfortunately this bra did not really work out for me. I really had a hard time trying on this model in different sizes. I was so happy to find this halfcup style (as I cannot wear balconettes) with its beautiful details that I absolutely wanted to have it, but had to try on lots of sizes and ended up buying none of them. This one (30GG) was too wide in both the band and the cups.

This one (28H) was good in the cups, but way too tight in the back. I believe it was tighter than the 28GG because the cups are wider and the part of the bra with stretchy fabric is comparatively smaller. The nice fitting in the cups was also a result of the very tight band, as the underwires and cups were torn apart and flattened.

I had high hopes this size would work. It doesn't. The cup is clearly still too small. https://d28qt14g3opchh.cloudfront.net/smileys/icon_sad.gif" alt=":(" /> The wire is a bit too narrow, and the top of the cup cuts in badly. The proportions of the cup sections are not good. The upper section is much too big, making the seam too low and the upper section try to cover too much, but it's tight and not stretchy, so instead it just makes quad-boob. The band fits nicely, though. (This band is very firm.) See my review on the 32K for more info.
Nice https://d28qt14g3opchh.cloudfront.net/smileys/icon_mrgreen.gif" alt=":D" /> This is a really good fit! It is a smudge small on my larger breast, which is then exaggerated by the fact that it causes orange-in-a-glass, so it is actually quadro-boobing a teeny bit, but it's ok. It gives the good, narrow shape that I like - no boob near my arms. This is why I've missed padded bras! I is a little bit more east-west than what I find ideal (I like where they pretty much go out in a 90degree angle from the gore of), but it is still beautiful. It is pretty true to size as a 34band, so it could technically do with being a smudge smaller for me, but it is fine. The thin frill is not noticeably in normal clothes, though it may show through thin, clingy fabrics.
I tried on the 38J although i am really a 36JJ as i loved the look of this bra and i can sometimes be between band sizes. Sadly, although the cup fits (just) the band is just too big and provides little support for me giving me backache. I would love Bravissimo to extend they're cup size range in this bra as the cleavage it gives you is just unbelievable! Would recommend it for those in the size range.
Tried it in pink and slate in 34J. It fit alright, but the lace was a little loose, and I reasoned that it would get a rounder shape in a size smaller. This time I got it this black and green. And I must say, I think it is very true that black fabrics are smaller, due to dye process! This is definitely too small in the black lace! So will exchange it to a 34J in this color (no more confusions!)
I love this bra - it is the first bra I have ever had which makes me feel confident about my cleavage and breast size. I can wear this bra secure in the knowledge that my decolletage is not going to be overshadowed, especially by someone with smaller boobs! After many years of hunting, I've finally found the plunge bra my boobs deserve. It's lightly padded, which gives amazing support, and the cups are just big enough to make my breasts look really full and plump without looking as if they're going to escape any minute. The band feels really snug without being too tight. It is also really comfortable to wear - I hardly notice I am wearing it until I look at my bust.
Obviously this is a bra for a night out - although I may feel naughty enough to wear it during the day while wearing a high neck top to make me feel good!
Tried the 28E but it didn't fit, only now I have the same problem with the 28F! I would never usually be 28F, but on the last one the Alana cut in at the top and was baggy at nipple. Although this one is a slight improvement, it still appears too small. I have a feeling that this bra is more suited to women with less full on top breasts as the top of the bra is very tight in comparison to the inner perimeter! I've retured both, might try 28FF in future as the Alana is a very pretty bra. Although it's plain, it has cute details and comes in many colours.
This bra fits me perfectly with no digging or poking. It gives me a nice rounded shape and holds everything where it needs to be. The center gore is a little wider than I like but it's a lot narrower than just about every other bra that isn't a plunge. I have a problem finding the happy place with the straps. They seem to either be too tight or slip off too easily. That's a very common problem of mine so I don't see it as a particular flaw of this one.
When I first put it on, it seemed like there was some ...extra space at the top. Within a few minutes, my boobs settled and filled it out. That's something I've learned I need to do. If I don't have extra space at the top at first, I end up with quadboob within minutes.
I've only worn it three or four times at the time of writing so I don't feel like I can review the quality very well aside from one thing, and that would be the little extra bit of fabric below the cups in front. That thing chafes. I don't know if it's something that will soften up over time, with repeated washings. It's possible my skin is particularly delicate. I have had my feet rubbed raw and bloody from rough cotton socks in the past. But it's so uncomfortable that I definitely have to mention it. Aside from this, it's a pretty great bra. The price is good, it's otherwise very comfortable, and I love the short underwires that don't stab me at the sides. Read more 178 more words
