Even though I made sure to be conscientious of the French sizing, and converted accordingly, this bra still ended up being too small in the cups. When I scoop/swoop, the hem/lace at the top cuts into my breast tissue a bit, making it pretty uncomfortable. I don't feel as if there is enough coverage or enough depth to the cups. The underwires are also too low for me, and they jab my sternum. I suppose I am too projected/round for this bra's shape. It's such a nice looking bra when it's not on.
Love the band fit and crossed straps on this bra, but the cups are much larger than I would expect from a US 34 DDDD. My tissue didn't come close to filling it. I bought this bra through a Reddit.com posting but would consider it either NWOT or very lightly used-- their are no signs of wear.
As this is the best-fitting bra I've ever owned, I'm a little giddy right now. So far the only problem I've encountered is that the underwire pokes my sternum a bit because the gore is a little high. Also, the bra will undoubtedly fit better at a different point in my menstrual cycle, i.e. when my breasts are a bit smaller.
The bra is very supportive, and quite nice appearance-wise. It doesn't have the granny look that many bras with unmoulded cups seem to have, which is much appreciated. I highly recommend it!
Edit after a month of owning the bra, and wearing it a few times: I'm not totally thrilled with the shape this gives me, though I think that may be because the bra is a little small. It's not quite quad-boob, but it pushes my breasts up in a weird way. Also, the underwires aren't quite the right shape for my ribcage, and I haven't tried bending them.
I tried a similar Chantelle style and while it fit the top of the cup was too firm and closed for me to be really comfortable. This one has elastic sewn along the top edge of the cup and that made all the difference. It shapes the breasts really well and brings them to a more forward projection position with strategic seams and quality construction. I got it at Nordstrom and both of the Chantelle styles weren't even on my radar until the sales person brought me a couple after I'd asked what they had that would be similar in cup width to my go-to brand Panache. The ...underwire is unlike anything I've experienced with a bra - springy and flexible to follow the infra-mammary curve but at the same time very solid and strong. I'd take it apart to learn more about this mysterious structural component, but for a bra that is $88 when not on sale dissection in the name of bra science is something I can't bring myself (or afford) to do. The cafe/nude shade is quite possibly the closest I've ever come to finding something that matches my skin tone - ultra pale - which is nice. Read more 94 more words
This push up bra is very pretty, it has two part satin cups with lace trim. The print is lovely, a cherry blossom print in navy, pink and peach on lighter peach. It does not fit me however, I get significant quadding and spillage on both cups and the sides are just too low to hold all of my breast tissue. I have a larger size in a similar style that is also by Chantelle and it is very comfortable, I assume this one would be for someone else!
This is a very nice bra, but for me the fit is not right. The band is too big and rides up in the back, and I tend to spill out of the cups once this happens. Otherwise it is actually comfortable, I don't get any poking or digging along the wires. Again the straps don't adjust short enough for me, but her I had to tack them down to make them shorter. The cups are shallow, especially at the bottom, to create a lifted look, but in combination with the wide bridge the cleavage created looks more like spillage on me. I also found that the lace pilled up quickly, even though I only hand wash my bras, which was a disappointment.
This one is a great fit in the cups. The wires come up a little high, but as far as holding everything in with no oozing, it's good. Sadly, the band is far too large and it doesn't come in a 30I. It's not the sassiest bra by any stretch, but a nice, well-made workhorse if you can find a fit.
I bought this bra because it felt great when I tried it on in the store, and the seams didn't show under my clothes. Plus, the straps are fully adjustable, and I rarely find a bra that sits low enough for my torso. There was slight wrinkling at the top, but that happens with virtually all bras. After wearing it for about 3 hours, I realized that the band is way, way too stretchy and long -- and I should have sized down to a 32 band. The cups are too deep but also too narrow. So, I can sort of push all (or most of) my breast ...tissue into them successfully, but this mostly just presses my boobs down flat. And the underwire still presses painfully against the breast tissue on my larger left side. This bra has too much stretch in the cups and the band to provide any support at all. I think I found it comfortable because it was like having nothing on, except for the pain in my left shoulder that began after a few hours. It gives me no lift, forward projection or shape.
The fit is very poor on me, but I will use this on lupus high pain days because it is less painful than most... At least until I find a bra that actually fits, if there is one out there. This French/American H cup is much, much bigger than any FF cup I've ever tried on in a UK company. If you have narrow breasts, you might want to size down in the cup.
Chantelle bras, as I understand it, are designed to fit long torsos, narrow shoulders and wide roots. This one...gets a little closer to accomplishing some of these for me than most bras, but... It's still a terrible fit.
This bra is an excellent fit and is the same cut as the Prima Donna Madison. Like, I tried them on over each other and they're exactly the same. I'm planning to try a 70G to see if I can refine the fit a little - the 70H fits very, very well but I suspect the G may fit like a glove like the Madison does. If the G's a little too small, I'll stick with the H.
This bra was excellent when I first purchased it, in fact I loved it so much that I bought four. The red and the teal have held up very well, however the beige both stretched out very quickly and had smaller cups to begin with(I ordered them online). One had a band that was 3/4" longer to begin with. The beige bras have always tended to give me a bit of quad boob, the red and teal do not. Additionally, after the beige bras stretched out some the horizontal seams on the cups have begun to dig in (because the seams did not stretch) and they now create ...an additional line across the upper breast, giving a sextuple boob effect. The beige bras also dig into my shoulders quite painfully, I had to adjust the sliders over the decorative strap piece in order to get them to the correct length for me on all of the bras, however the beige are the only ones which are uncomfortable on my shoulders. I have only had the beige ones for three months and I rotate bras so that no one bra gets worn more than two times a week. I do not think that they should have stretched out so quickly, especially since the red and teal ones which I have had for over a year are still perfect. The red and teal I rate as excellent quality, comfort and appearance, the beige as wearable quality, meh comfort and excellent appearance. Read more 141 more words
I really don't like padded bras. I do like the lace on the straps and at the top of the straps. It's a pretty bra, I just wish the cups weren't so padded.
I wore this bra at least 100 times and it's still trucking along. Unfortunately it's too big for me now, so I can't partake in its awesomeness anymore. I like how it's sheer and neutral in color, but not boring. Excellent support and shape for my boobs, and I think it helped my breast tissue migrate and resituate.
The pros: This bra is so pretty! The lace is gorgeous. The inside of the cup has a soft satin feel that is glorious! The gore is nice and low. The pads are removable and I had to remove the pad on the left side as that breast is larger than my right. Overall, I would say this is a close enough fit. I may alter it later.
The cons: I did buy this bra used and I am more of a 30 band, so when I got it I immediately had to do it up on the tightest hooks. The straps are adjusted as tight as possible so over time I may have to alter those. I have soft tissue and close set breasts so I am very slightly falling out the center. Not enough to be concerned, but that is probably where I will make the first alteration.
The underwire sits lower on my ribcage than I'd like, so I tend to do it up on one of the tighter hooks to try to keep it in place. Cups feel a bit wider than some of my other bras, but it's still a very pretty and comfortable bra.
This is the first bra to ever fit me. I have good coverage and support in this bra. The only complaint I have is that the center gore is a little poke-y at the top on me.
