The material is very delicate and sexy looking.

The fit of this bra is passable, but not perfect. The cups are too big, but because of the high cut, it's not noticeable. The band is fairly snug as I expect of Chantelle soft cups, but I think it would work better for me a band size down - it's fitting slightly loose on the smallest hook. A 70DD would probably be perfect! The bra itself is cute - I like the webbed lace pattern, and the pattern is interesting despite being a solid colour.

This bra mostly fit me. I am short rooted, projected and pendulous. The gore doesn't quite tack, but I have a lot of immediate projection at the root and unless I am swimming in the cups, I don't expect tacking anymore. The band is true to size and the bra itself is very comfortable. Not scratchy at all and the wires do not poke in the sides. The lace paneling is not stretch, but it is soft and does a good job holding my close set boobs in, which a lot of plunges do not. I do think the cup is a bit bigger than the FF cup it says it is, and fits for like a 38G. I do droop over the bottom of the wire, but I do that in molded cups too, so if you are not as projected as I am, this will be a fantastic bra. Extremely well made, comfortable for hours and worth the money in my opinion.

This is my favorite bra. The fit is just perfect for me - the gore tacks, the cups are perfect, the band is at the perfect tightness. I love the plunge and it's so sexy.

I'm a 38F UK in most brands, but the band on this bra seems to run a little big. The center gore doesn't lay flat like it usually does, so it technically doesn't really fit me. I have trouble with the straps falling down. I've tried adjusting them a hundred different ways to no avail. It's too bad, as this bra would be very comfortable otherwise.

I love this bra. It is very comfortable and gives me a great shape. There is plenty of stretch in the band which allows for free movement. No pokes anywhere. I could wear this bra all day. I would definitely buy this bra again. And I love this color, Fatal Violet. It was on sale, too!
It's my new favorite bra. I just wish they made a plunge or demi version.

This is a terrific bra. The band is tight, but I can wear an extender whilst losing weight. Otherwise the fit is good. It might be my best fitting bra, now. Construction is awesome. There is no comparison between this bra and any bra from any other manufacturer I've ever bought.
It's a pretty bra and I like how it shapes my breasts. I'm getting good projection without any padding. I also like the more parabolic profile it gives my breasts. I love the widely set straps and the completely unapologetic way my breasts are presented, neither too widely nor squished together.
I highly recommend this bra for someone with a shape similar to mine.

Very soft and comfortable fabric, although the lace overlay doesn't lie completely smooth. As I wear it longer, I think that I need to go down one cup size

A bit boring, an everyday bra, but it fits well. inside the cups have a side liner that looks a little cheap, but I liked the strap detailing, and the rhinestone "c" and chantelle signature fabric. Fantastic for knits

White with pretty lace. Doesn't quite fit- a bit small in the cups. I think I was caught in the USA/EU sizing issue on this one. It looks fine under clothes, so I'll probably keep it.

This bra is the first properly fitted bra that I bought. And so far it's still the best! The wires are perfectly shaped for me in that they are wide enough to contain all my breast tissue and low enough that they don't poke any where. The material is soft and stretchy lace which at first feels not very supportive. However the construction of the bra helps keep the shape and my girls don't really move all day. The band is pretty stretchy but I like that since I sit down a lot and have been gaining weight recently. I've only had it for about a month but so far it's holding up great. I would recommend this bra to anyone who has wide roots (I think that's what I have, still learning the lingo) and needs short but wider wires. And it's so pretty!!

My shape: slightly shallow teardrop/FOB with super wide/tall roots and very close-set tissue in the middle.
This review is for the Ultraviolet colorway.
I found this bra at the Nordstrom Anniversary sale. The full-coverage Rive Gauche bra's center gore was way too wide for my breasts and the high center wires dug into my breast tissue, but the plunge bra is fantastic. The gore is low enough that there is no digging, which is an absolute must! Plus, it is really pretty and gives a nice green shape (a la Bras I Hate and Love), although not much lift and the push up pads are very thin. I love the ... color! And the straps! Raspberry over orange cups is great for my thing for bright colors, and the straps are split with a ribbon stitch down the center of each.
I have noticed that the seams of the back band seems to be causing some itching, something I am very sensitive to, and I also expect the roughness to get better after I wash it. The bottom of the underwires also starts to press on my ribs after a while of slumping sideways and sitting in generally awkward positions, which I do a lot, but, then again, this happens with most of my bras. I am also concerned about the outer ends of the underwires eventually poking through the casing because it feels pretty thin. So, basically, stuff to consider, but not dealbreakers for me.
I wear a lot of 30FFs, but the 32DDD(US)/32E(UK) on the tightest hook fits well enough - looser is definitely too big.

Chantelle full-coverage bras often give me problems with underwires digging into my breast tissue at the sternum, and this bra is no exception. It's a lovely bra, and it fits well, but when I put it on and did the swoop-and-scoop, the discomfort at the center gore was almost immediate, and this is not a stuff-a-tissue-underneath-to-fix-it kind of problem. It went back on the rack and I got the Rive Gauche plunge bra instead.

I wish the plunge style came in my size, because I have had good luck with Chantelle plunges so far. Not so with the full-coverage bras, however. This bra was cute and made me reconsider my negative opinion on stained-glass-window cup styles because it wasn't too obvious. It also gave good support and shape. However, I just could not get around the center underwires. They were too far apart and came up way too high, so they dug in terribly. I was literally bruised after about 3 hours of wear. I returned this bra.

I'm new here, and totally confused.
After losing 30 lbs I decided it was time to treat myself to properly fitting bras. Who knew it would be so difficult? Went for a pro fit, wound up with a Chantelle Full Coverage 3816 70F. Both fitters pronounced it perfect, but I don't particularly like the fit of the cups, feel they go too E/W and a little flattened, not sexy enough. Second pro fit put me in Freya Deco Moulded Plunge Bra (4234) in 32F. Sexy, but cup gap all over the top. So much for the pros.
I've been doing a lot of ordering online and returning. I thought if I can narrow down my breast shape it would help, but I can't even do that! I thought I was FOT, now I think I'm FOB. Thought I had narrow roots, now I'm convinced they're wide.
The more I read, the more confused I get! Any advice for someone who is a total novice at properly-fitting bras would be appreciated.

OK so first thing--the great advantage of Bratabase is that you can focus on numerical measurements instead of getting all tangled up in descriptors like "narrow" "tall" "full on top or bottom" etc. These descriptors are subjective and make sense only to a person who has seen a lot of different pairs of boobs in bras. When you are only just starting to figure out your own boobs, you have very little frame of reference so objective data is more useful.
Let's start with cup width. When you wear your new bras, where are the outside ends of the wires positioned in relation to the outer edges of your breast tissue? Are the wires sitting on breast tissue (usually obvious because this is uncomfortable)? This means they're too narrow, usually. Are they RIGHT outside the edge of the breast, i.e. half a fingerwidth or less from the edge? That usually means it's OK. Is there more room between the wire and the edge of the breast tissue, like an inch or more? That means the wires are wider than you need.
Based on this, you can see whether the width of this bra's cups works for you. Measure the cup width and determine whether you want something close to this width, narrower or wider.
Next: cup depth. In your size range, your lying down breast perimeter (for just 1 breast, the larger one) usually works as a decent guideline.
Once you have these two numbers, plus your optimal band length, you can do a search by measurements on this site and use photos and reviews to assess which of the results seem like a good bet :-)
Thanks, wendybien! That sounds so easy, I wish I had found this site weeks ago!
I also love my Rive Gauche 3part cups, they're a rather surprising good fit I wasn't expecting. If you end up feeling like the gore starts to dig in at all the longer you've had the bra on, try bending the gore outwards just slightly and it should help a lot. Just passing that tip on as I've found it useful myself with this bra.
