This is a very pretty bra. I bought it after seeing it on my Bratabase recommendation list. It fits but it is not perfect. I usually wear 32G (UK) and my best fitting bras are full cup. This one is a plunge bra, so the gore is lower than what I am used to.
Band: looser than most 32 bands, but I fell like the 3 hooks at the back add a little more support Straps: not too wide set, they are also very pretty Wires: they are quite wide, which is what I need. The do not poke of chafe at the armpit. Gore: It almost tacks... well, it ...tacks on my smaller side. On my bigger side, it sits a little bit on my breast tissue, not perfect but still comfortable. Cups: I suppose they are big for 32FF. Beautiful rounded shape. The cup fits well on my smaller boob, but there is a very small quad-boob on my bigger side. Its a lower cut than ful-cup bras, but I believe it higher than most other plunge.
Overall, if this bra came in a UK 30GG, I would buy a dozen! Even if the fit is not the best for my side, I will keep wearing this bra.
EDIT: After wearing it for two full days, this bra is not so good. After a couple of hours, it 'slides down', laying too low. the underwires sit below my IMF, leaving empty fabric at the bottom of the cup. Also, the low wire of the gore pokes my biggest breats.
Overall the band is too big, feels like a 34. There is not enough projection for me.
Edit 2: Narrowing the gore changes the fit a lot. No more poking and a little less quad-boob. This also makes the band a little bit tighter. Read more 191 more words
The bra is lovely and well made. It is actually very comfortable, until I have worn it for very long. Then the wire starts to dig on my underarms. It is not as bad as most bras I try are. If I adjust it, it will stop digging for a while, but if I wear it for a 10hr work shift, my underarms have a very sore spot. Not enough to leave marks or do real damage to my skin. For short periods of time I like this bra, it is gorgeous, and aside from the underarm wire it fits perfectly and is very comfortable.
I would recommend this bra for someone who has a long torso and likes a minimizing effect with wide wires and low-medium projection. Probably best for even fullness (I am even-to-FOB). Accommodates tall roots. The gore is the kicker: I do not know anyone who could tolerate the 4 inch tall gore that they have made in this size. I recently tried a different Chantelle demi (C chic sexy demi) in 32F, but the cups were just a bit too small, so I thought I'd give this 32G a go. Now I know why Chantelle doesn't make most of its bras in 32G: they have no idea how to ...grade them.
Gore: 4 inches tall. 4 inches! Digs in at the top. Cups: single layer of mesh. Single vertical seam. Minimized shape. Some loose fabric at the top, but fits well elsewhere. The sides of the cups are digging into my armpits. Wires: wide. Bra does not lay flat on a table when hooked on the tightest hook (dead giveaway of poor grading). Straps: not fully adjustable. In fact, the adjustable portion does not even reach the top of my shoulder. I never complain about too-long straps, so this is odd. The cups are already digging into my armpits with long straps anyway, so no sense shortening them. They have done a split strap in the front for sexy effect. Band: accurately sized. Fabric: soft. Cute and unique mesh print continues along the band. I ordered the purple (barenecessities sale) and it is accurate to online pictures. Read more 144 more words
This was the first Chantelle bra I owned and now I'm hooked on them. I never had such a supportive pretty bra before nor did the center gore fit so snugly against me. It provides a lot of coverage, but is really pretty and doesn't show through tops.
The blue color is just lovely, and the cup volume was right, but the cup shape didn't work for me. Underwires too wide, cups too flat - I always fit better when the cups are narrower and deeper. This is a common problem for me though so I think other people would have better luck with it.
The band seemed tight - I usually wear 30DD UK / 30E US size, but the 32D band was comfortably tight. I think I still would have wanted the 32 even if there was a 30 option.
The gold X in the front is hardware, not gold cloth ...- but it is molded to look like cloth, so I found that style decision a little bit odd.
The straps are stretchy, removable, and they tie around the neck. So halter and bandeau are the only options, which sounds limiting but actually would have been good for me, because those are the only options I would have used. In my Prima Donna swim top there are more options but the halter option looks the worst because the straps need to be adjusted too much to get them the right length for halter. So honestly I'd rather have just halter and bandeau with no other options - it makes the halter option look better when the straps don't need to accommodate other options. Read more 126 more words
This bra is fantastic. Bought today at Nordstrom's, and I can't wait to put it in my regular rotation. I almost got it in a 30G (US - or a 30F UK, which is my usual size), but I found that the slightly roomier cup of the 32H (32FF in UK sizing) works a little better for my inner fullness. So, down to brass tacks:
The fit is like a dream. The 32 band is ever so slightly larger than I'd like, but that's to be expected in a sister size. I would say it runs true to size; the 30 band was a better ...fit, but I had to size up for right fit in the cup. I can wear the 32 on the loosest hook, but I think the second hook is more supportive fit. The cups give a nicely rounded and slightly minimized shape, but the plunge provides just enough cleavage with a low-cut top. Demure and inviting at the same time - love it! The cups are also quite close-set, which is perfect for me, but I can see how it might be problematic for those with a wider root. I would be really happy if I could just take the wires on this bra and make them the wires for every other bra I have. They're exactly the right width for my narrow-but-not-really-narrow shape (I guess it's average? What I definitely know is that Curvy Kate wires are comfy but a little too wide to be properly supportive, but the Chantelle wires are just wide enough without making the cups fold over the wire). The lace makes it sexy, but it's practically invisible under my clothes (including thin t-shirts and a poly-blend dress recently bought), so it's perfect for everyday wear or special occasions. I splurged for the matching knickers, too, and the set is amazingly comfy and sexy.
This is, however, a review based on my fitting in-store and at home. Once I've worn it a couple times in real life, I'll have a more realistic idea of the fit and longevity, but I'm very excited about this bra and have high hopes for its performance. (please, oh please don't let it be a dud!) Read more 277 more words
This bra is indeed very similar in construction to the Panache Sport Sports Bra (5021). It doesn't seem to reduce bounce as well, but that may be because the Chantelle is one band size larger than the Panache that I tried.
The stitching on the black colorway is not white like it appears in pictures, but blue!
I love Chantelle bras but this bra was the deal breaker! It completely ruined my love for Chantelle. Made of flimsy material, very stretchy band and poor material. I thought it was too pricey for what it was!!
The cup was not wide enough for me and the band was definitely was too wide on the tightest hook!
The look under t shirts was okay but I didn't quite fill one cup on the right so felt abit 'fake' when I wear this..
Does however give a smooth seemless look but will fit shallow breasts with tall and narrow roots?
I found this bra extremely discounted at a thrift store and was actually very pleasantly surprised by the fit. The underwires are the perfect narrow width, and there is finally enough depth at the bottom of the cup that the wires stay in my IMF effortlessly. It's such a glorious feeling! The moderately stretchy lace material is quite comfortable, and I think well accommodates upper fullness as well as helps to reduce gaping for more bottom-heavy shapes. It is a decidedly full-coverage style, but one that I think is classic and feminine in appearance rather than matronly, as well as workable with a decent amount of necklines; for ...that reason, it is my go-to option for days when I want minimized cleavage and a more "secure" feeling.
This bra very effectively separates and lifts the breasts, but the shape ranges from slightly pointy to a natural-looking teardrop depending on how tightly the straps are tightened. I do find that once I adjust the straps enough to achieve the latter shape, the band tends to ride up a little... I really wish this bra was available in a 30 band instead... but it doesn't render it totally unwearable. Finally, the wires come up moderately high under the armpits as well as into the high center gore, which can sometimes be slightly irritating or just something I'm conscious of while wearing this bra as opposed to others with shorter wires. This is a great alternative to the Panache Sport underwired bra. It is equally comfortable (maybe more) and I think the fit is a bit better. Many different sizes of the Panache work for me (30DD, 30E, 32DD), but none of them seemed perfect in the cup. This one is a little more moldable to the body. If you find Panache sport UW a tricky fit, try this one!
The sizing is odd; this one fits ok and the label says 30DD UK, 30E US, 80E FR and 65E EU, plan to try UK30E as well.
Cups fit excellent, lightly lined but no padding, fabric is comfortable, not itchy. Now that I've had this bra for a few months, it is my FAVORITE. The band has stretched out a little, but not so much that I can't still hook it on the last hooks. Definitely want to get another one of these, best bra that I have atm.
The Rive Gauche T-shirt bras are great for ladies in the shallow spectrum. I've realized they're actually a smidge too shallow for me; my projection tends to cause some fit issues - like slipping straps. These bras are really great for under t-shirts, and I find them very comfy. This bra has wonderful little details - I love the stitching and lace.
I first bought this bra in my sister size, a 32DDD, in the nude/beige and fell in love with it then. My only complaint was that the band was a tad too big for me. So I knew the 30F would fit like a glove...and it is a PERFECT fit! I bought it in the black in the 30F, and laid it on top of my 32DDD, just for kicks, and the band is MUCH shorter and the cups are about half an inch deeper.
I first tried the bra on the loosest hook and loosened the straps completely. It didn't feel right in the cups and the ...band still felt too loose (I normally wear a 28). So I just went straight to the tightest setting (since this bra unfortunately doesn't come in a 28) and I tightened the straps about an inch and a half and voila! Perfection! I've had this bra on now for about 30 minutes and it is so comfy, haven't had to readjust and the band has stayed in place. I absolutely LOVE this bra!!! This is, by far, my fav unlined bra! Everything fits me just right! I feel like it was made for my girls https://d28qt14g3opchh.cloudfront.net/smileys/icon_smile.gif" alt=":)" />
Usually, most unlined bras give me a very awkward, unnatural shape, even with a breast augmentation. But this bra is different somehow. It makes the girls look fabulous under clothes!! It gives a very nice, lifted, rounded shape without all the padding or hard, stiff moulded cups. It is a bit stiff and does feel somewhat "starchy" but I'm sure a wash or two will take care of that. I added a ton of pics under my profile of how nice this bra looks under a tank top. I highly recommend this bra if you're trying to find a good unlined bra with a great, NOT pointy, shape! I feel it is very true to size https://d28qt14g3opchh.cloudfront.net/smileys/icon_smile.gif" alt=":)" />
Update: after wearing this bra for a few hours yesterday, I'm not sure why but it felt too tight. The top part of the cups were digging in a bit and I had a smidgen of quad boob going on. Could just be that I'm pms-ing and the girls are a little swollen right now. But I couldn't wear it all day cuz it was too uncomfortable. When I took it off I had a perfect outlined red mark of the entire bra! Esp at the gore. I guess I'll have to try again at a different time of the month https://d28qt14g3opchh.cloudfront.net/smileys/icon_wink.gif" alt=";)" /> Read more 331 more words
Oh HAPPY DAY!!!! I am SO GLAD I decided to give this bra a try! I was seriously on the brink of giving up on "unlined" bras, and swore they just were not meant for my shape. And, alas, Chantelle to the rescue!! Every other single unlined bra I have tried just did not fit right and they ALL gave me pointy boobs! I just assumed that was the look unlined bras gave. But I absolutely LOVE this bra! It gives my girls such an awesome, round, natural-looking shape and I can actually wear this bra under any shirt! It gives nice projection, too (unlike my Cleo Lucy ...which seemed to minimize the girls and flatten the sides). The cups on this fit me like a glove, they are perfect https://d28qt14g3opchh.cloudfront.net/smileys/icon_smile.gif" alt=":)" /> The wires are perfect width, the gore is just the right height, not too high causing the wires to dig into my sternum. The sheer top seems to be at just the right part and my nipple does show but it kinda makes the bra sexier https://d28qt14g3opchh.cloudfront.net/smileys/icon_wink.gif" alt=";)" /> This can definitely be an everyday bra for me, it is pretty comfy. The ONLY problem I have with this is the band, but that's my own fault. It feels a tad loose but I couldn't find a 30F and I REALLY just wanted to try it cuz I had a good feeling so I settled for my sister size in the 32DDD. I am def hanging onto this one until I come across a 30F. This bra is perfect for my girls, and I have even fullness, round, "surgically enhanced" boobs. You would think ANY bra would work for me, but that def isn't the case. If you're looking for a nice round, NOT pointed, look, I highly recommend this bra https://d28qt14g3opchh.cloudfront.net/smileys/icon_smile.gif" alt=":)" />
Update: After wearing this ALL day, I'm happy to say it was very comfy, no problems https://d28qt14g3opchh.cloudfront.net/smileys/icon_smile.gif" alt=":)" /> I didn't have to readjust or fuss with it constantly. The band was the only issue I had, but that was expected since I normally wear a 28/30 and this was a 32. The back did start riding up a bit, and I had to tighten the straps to prevent the cups from wrinkling. I could def use a 30F in this one. But I can still wear this one. I still love this bra! I was able to wear it under a sweater and had a nice rounded look, not pointed or unnatural looking. I LOVE this bra! Read more 332 more words
This is a very pretty bra. I love the lace of the upper cups and along the neckline. It seems to be very well constructed. With an extender at my current weight, it seems to fit very well. There are a few stray wrinkles but I'm putting that down to the tight band. I will most likely keep this bra. Any slight flaws in fit can't be seen when I have a top on. Which is pretty much the plan. (grin)
This is pretty damn good! It fits you a lot better than it fit me when I tried it, my shape is shockingly wrong for this bra, but it looks like a good match for yours. I also found it uncommonly tight in the band. The shape under clothes is really nice in this size range!
Brilliant! This is definitely a keeper, then. There's enough play in the bra fit that losing weight won't be an issue, and neither will breast growth. At least to a certain extent. At any rate, this bra should last a while for me, and perform well at the same time.
The straps are a little wide. Not so wide as to make it unbearable or even uncomfortable, usually. But sometimes if I move a certain way, they dig a little. Any wider and they would be bad for me, but as they are they're okay. That's really the only con I have for this bra. Everything else fits nicely and is comfortable.
This bra's fit is amazing. It gives a full round appearance, the band is tight enough to offer plenty of support, the straps are fully adjustable and long enough. The center gore sits right against my sternum and the wings on the side come up far enough to hold in all the breast tissue without cutting into my underarm. Despite it being lace, the seams are all flat enough to not show through my t-shirts. All around the most wonderful bra I've ever owned... and SEXY too! The only con is that at first it was a bit scratchy, but after a few days of wear and a few washes it no longer bothers me.
It comes up really inconveniently high but is really really cute. I wear it under tshirts in scenarios where I don't mind the purple lace poking out a bit. Makes me feel sassy.
This is my favorite bra too - I'll even go as far as saying it's my holy grail. :P
