This is a UK 34F (with a super stretchy band). My abtf size is 32GG. The band is too loose, the cups are quadding, there's insufficient immediate projection, and there's some some east/west business at the apex. I could never use the J hook as it set the straps so close they were on my neck and it jacked up the shape of the cups. But it is a beautiful black tshirt bra if it would just fit. I also have this in Blue https://www.bratabase.com/bra/dn7po/.
I love the shape and lift of this bra and overall it fits well and is super comfortable. As is commonly a problem for me, the sides tend to dig into my armpits and I wish the wire was a bit shorter and narrower.
I’ve had a few of these Chantelle Rive Gauche bras over the last several years in a few different sizes. The band is VERY stretchy in every size and every color. You will probably want to size down in the band and up in the cup. My measurements for this bra size are probably larger than the average because I’ve had this bra for a couple of years, but it was very stretchy when it was brand new.
If you have a narrow breast shape, this is a good option because it’s more narrow in the wire than the Chantelle Parisian Allure Lace Plunge Bra (2231). The gore is a little wider than what I need, but it’s not uncomfortable. This Rive Gauche bra is really pretty and creates a natural, round shape. You’re not going to get major lift, but you’ll be supported.
It’s a good everyday bra that will last a long time.
Absolutely one of my favorite bras. Lace does show through under some shirts, but overall rarely an issue. Comfort is superior, I love the lift at the bottom of the cup keep my breast tissue way from my body, and how forward-facing the tissue is in the cup. It's one of my favorite bras for summer, as it keeps me cool and dry. It's my second of the same style, just as happy as my first!
This bra feels ok on my body and at first I didn't like the way it made my boobs look, but now, the more I wear it, the more I like it! And, I think, it's pretty darn comfortable. The 3 part cups are full coverage and really supportive with padded underwires. And it has a leotard back with two hook closure. It is a 40DD in lite lilac . Also the upper cups are made of soft pretty paisley lace. The side wings are made with a powermesh material. And there is a touch of embroidery on the straps in the front of the bra. I am pretty sure it has been discontinued.
I’m always in the market for a nude bra and I had high hopes for this one. However, this just isn’t it. Aside from all the fit issues...this bra squeaks! No matter how I move it squeaks in the underwires. Super annoying. It makes me even more aware I’m wearing it. The straps are ok, I can feel them slightly dig in. I’m not sure if this is because the straps are made of two small elastic straps that converge into one at the point of the metal ring in back or what. The cups are too shallow for my very projected breast shape. The center gore ...of course doesn’t tack and I can already feel the ends of the wires poking under the fabric. Not good for a brand new with tags bra. While the band is a good length it’s not very sturdy. In the picture it looks like it’s pulling because it’s too small, but it’s not tight. I don’t think this is worth the money at all if purchased at retail price. I don’t see this holding up over time and would just lead to a waste of money. Read more 88 more words
We SO need a gore solution for close-set, center-full breasts. It seems your Exhilaration bikini top may be closer to a solution for us than the major lingerie manufacturers. Geez.
Love4Pollinators I totally agree. I always try to wear my bras before writing a review so I can accurately depict the fit. This bra just hurts. I can still feel where it was digging in at the wires. You’d think they’d invest in a little better quality wire casing for the price they charge. I’m guess Chantelle and I are just not meant to be. Wacoal and I are a much better match so far.
I'm so grateful for returns--tooooo many ill-fitting bras.
74$ and it squeaks? Would be fun to actually buy this thing for the retail price and then return it because of the squeaking just to see their face.
Some of my ultra tight Cleo / Panache make a very silent creaking noise (almost like wood) but only if I move in a strange way and they were all under 25€.
aboobaccount It was actually commical. My husband asked if I needed some WD-40 to work out my squeaks lol.
Haha, there is nothing that can't be fixed using WD-40 and duct tape. But I wouldn't like the smell of WD-40 in my closet.
aboobaccount Hahah duct tape would definitely be a better choice over this bra for me. :D
Wireless and spacer foam are some of my favorite bra traits so I had to try this bra. It's pretty different from the other thick moulded wireless bras out there.
Thin and breathable cups. The cut and spacer foam seem to form to my shape better than others, preventing folding at the bottom of the cup. The shape is flattened and compressed, a bit small for me overall though.
I was tempted to keep this at first as a lightweight bra for summer, but the cups are just a bit too wide at my armpits and they cut in a bit too much on top.
I am center full, close set, FOB, and my breasts sit low on my chest. I've had this bra about three weeks and it is my only really comfortable bra. This bra has a stretchy band. I read a suggestion to size down in the band and up in the cup, which I did (my usual size is 32H US/32FF UK) and it fits perfectly. There is enough depth to the cup at the bottom that the wire isn't being driven into my ribs, which happens with many bras. It's surprising to look at it that it would be so comfortable - just wires with tulle and ...stretch fishnet for the cups - but I have fallen asleep with this bra on. The straps stay up most of the time, and I have no problem with any of the usual problem areas. I have noticed the least bit of quadding on my larger side when I am carrying extra water weight, but no one else would notice it. Basically a really nice fit and a really comfortable bra. I've already ordered another. Read more 75 more words
Highly coveted bra since early in bra my journey. The woman in Nordstrom offered this to me, but I couldn't justify spending so much ($88) on a bra. I loved the fit, the pinstriped ribbon details, and soft materials. I found this gem on eBay finally for a much more palatable price in "Ocean Blue". I got a 30ddd this time and the fit is generally pretty good. The cups are quite shallow at the bottom and there is a bit of folding down there. However, they are also wide enough and the right shallowish shape, and it's extremely comfortable, so I can overlook that. I'm a 28f but the 30 band is fine on the middle hook to start with.
I just tried one of these myself and it's amazing how comfortable it is for a t-shirt bra. I think it fits so much better than all the other t-shirt bras I've tried. It's of course shallow, but much less so than many others! I wish mine had two hooks instead of one though! ;-) Beautiful color on you!
LeProfessor One hook?! How does that even work?
I love this color on you. So glad you found a better price on Ebay!
The white stitching looks really nice. It's funny how they try to save some money on a 88$ bra by using only a single hook and only in the 65D version of it.
Yeah...@Sovavosi , it's the same as my mimi Holliday super plunge & times bra..for some reason they think the smaller sizes only need 1 hook on the columns instead of 2...i don't like it. I like nice wide bands. And I have the 65C , aboobaccount , they probably do 1 hook instead of 2 in sizes b-d. I haven't looked it up though. I assumed they all had 1 hook. >.<
Extremely comfortable, stretchy but still supportive! Not like, firm-and-in-your-face supportive, but still good at getting the boobs out from under the arms and into a rounded front projection kind of situation. I like the vertical seams. Possible downside: Because the fabric's stretchy, I'm not so sure about the longevity, but we'll see.
Got it on sale at Century 21! Good encapsulation without being a massive full coverage bra with lots of fabric (I don't tend to like those.) The mesh top is fairly forgiving - my right boob is a bit larger, but I can accommodate this by adjusting the straps. It gives good lift and while somewhat rounded, still a projected shape. I'm always trying to get my boobs to come out from hiding under my arms, so it does the job with that. After a full day of wear, I'm glad to take it off, despite the good fit though - the wire is quite firm.
Blue, with embroidered flowers on the bottom, mesh on top colorway
If it would have been my size, it would be very comfortable! If you do 32E, it will make you very beautiful breasts, round. It has a hull, without padding. Its material is extremely soft and the details are very pretty too. I'm sad that he does not, but I prefer someone else to wear it rather than stay in my closet. Its material is extremely soft and the details are very pretty too. I'm sad that he does not, but I prefer someone else to wear it rather than stay in my closet.I can not tell you that the comfort is excellent since this bra is not at my size but it holds very well and looks extremely comfortable if you do 32E.
This bra would probably best fit breasts that have a rounded shape, rather than a sloping shape like mine. The cup is a little too small for me, but the mesh at the top of the cups, just under the elasticized edge, tends to wrinkle rather than staying smooth. The half-lining is a super-thin and soft spacer foam - it provides opacity but won't hide cold nipples. Also, the line from the edge of the spacer lining does show a little beneath thin fabrics. However, I love that the back closure has four settings or columns, rather than the three that most back-closure bras have. It is also a VERY pretty and chic-looking bra with lots of little stylistic touches.
Update: I tried on some Chantelle styles at a department store today, and this model was a perfect fit in 32D(70D). So the problem wasn't my breast shape, it was the size! My most common size currently is 32DD, so this model seems to run about a cup large - at least for my breast shape.
I loooove the cups on this bra. Not only are they made of thin spacer foam (my favorite bra-cup fabric), they look and feel satiny and have a cute quilted logo jacquard pattern woven in. They're a great shape as well, somewhere between a full coverage and a demi, that gives good support without covering the entire chest. The wings have a lace overlay in the same pattern on top of a sheer non-stretch layer, and the back is stretch mesh. The pleated straps are cute, and apparently the non-stretch pleated fabric helps keep the elastic strap beneath from over-stretching. But this does mean that part of the ...strap at the back, where it adjusts, has the pleated side against the skin, which gets slightly annoying as I move around. The silvertone hardware is pretty, as is the little knot holding the sideways silvertone-and-crystal "C" on the gore, and the strap hook for converting to crisscross/racerback is well designed. I like the scalloped lace around the entire bottom of the bra, too. Overall I like it a lot - enough to overlook the small strap issue or find a workaround - so since this size is a little big in the band and small in the cup, I'm now seeking this style in a 32DD/70DD. This bra is gorgeous and well-designed, and looks smooth and natural-yet-supported beneath thin tops. The spacer-foam fabric is super-soft and almost silky, with a matte finish, and has some stretch from side to side but not from top to bottom. The embroidery is reminiscent of feathers or mermaid scales. The embroidered mesh of the gore and wings is non-stretch and double layered, and the gore has an additional reinforcing sheer layer behind the two layers of mesh. The back is a power-net fabric. The straps can convert to crisscross/racerback or halter, and have two position loops on the back band - great for those with narrow shoulders or tops that cut in a little in back. I bought this bra gently used, and the band fits me well on the tightest setting. I adore this bra, but sadly it's a cup size too small for me. I plan to buy it in 34D/75D as soon as I can find one.
Overall this bra was a *shrug* meh. I don't love it, but I definitely don't hate it. I don't care for the look of the fabric, but it's soft/comfortable. The band is quite a bit tighter than the same size, different Chantelle model (1891). I may try the next band size up, but probably not.
I bought this bra from a Bratabase user in a "Bra Transfer". I like it a lot and I can almost say it fits ok except for 2 things. #1, the band is a little tight. I find this surprising with it being a 40. I usually fit better in 38's. So a 40 being too tight isn't usual. But I'm sure the band will loosen up some after being around my body for a little while. #2, there is some loose fabric in the upper cups where my boobs don't quite fill them. But this bra is another sturdy, well built Chantelle bra so you know it's quality. Oh yeah., It only has 2 hooks in the back which I would like better with 3 hooks.
Quite comfortable and supportive. Lower cup and side support panel are lined with opaque, silky, just slightly stretchy fabric, upper cups are stretch lace lined with sheer tricot. Although this is full coverage, there's elastic across the top of the cups that cuts into my tissue just a tiny bit so if you have tall roots or lots of upper fullness this may not be for you. The back is firm with just the right amount of stretch. It feels very supportive. This size fits me like a minimizer. The straps come up from the side support panel but the side panel is angled in a bit so ...actually the straps arise almost from the center of the cup - a boon for narrow- shouldered frames like mine. I was able to wear this under a top that has a wide scoop neck. The lace is fairly flat and doesn't show through except under a very thin or tight tee. Since I don't wear those this will be a good everyday bra for me.
Update: I noticed the wires were a little narrow for me and were not containing my side tissue. I bent them outward just a little and now the tissue stays put but of course the cups are a little bit more shallow. I probably could have used the H cup in this bra. Read more 121 more words
Your reviews are so detailed and helpful. I admire your knowledge of fabric types, such as noting the lining of sheer tricot (I need to learn about fabrics), and how thoughtfully you note areas of fit that may work for others, even when they don't work for you. Thank you for consistently providing data/measurements, as well as reviews and pics from different angles. We are very similar in measurements, so I'm fortunate to have your reviews as guidance!
femmedecoeur thank you so much! I’m glad my information is helpful, that’s my intent.
I promised myself I wouldn't buy another bra in 2016 but here I am. I just can't go past a bra shop. I decided to buy this one because I don't have a nude unlined bra yet. The colour is a medium white-person-nude, slightly darker than my natural skin tone. It reminds me of coffee with a lot of milk. The cup has lace on it with little "C"s on it, I find it quite cute.
The gore is relatively low and quite narrow, but thanks to the side support no problem for my relatively wide-set breast. It has a little bow with another C-letter, this one with rhinestones.
All in all, the cup fits very well. There's a bit of wrinkling here and there but nothing major. And a strap gap as usual. The shape of the cup is a bit rounder than I like it, closer to Cleo than to Freya but not quite like my 32F - Cleo » Kali Balconnet Bra (7561). The band seems to be true to size.
