This bra hits all of the points it's supposed to but there's something slightly off with the fit for me. My left breast is slightly larger so my guess is that the cup is a tad too small for the left breast but not the right. I don't have any quad boob, probably because of the stretch lace on top. Because the gore is so low and small it still tacks. This is a very cute bra and I love the lace and the color. The plunge is deep so it's not great for heavy activity but is comfy for lounging and mild activities.

It's a cute bra, light blue with yellow flowers. I gave this sister size a shot after learning that cleo bands are stretchy. the wires are way too wide and high for me. They go clear under my armpit and stab me. the scallops on the top of the cup gap just a little. It's wearable for a light day, but not for work.

  3. Kali Babydoll (7565)

    Fits

This Kali Babydoll is one of those frivolous purchases that one doesn't exactly need, but is fun to have on hand. It's been a really long time since I purchased an underwire nightie-type piece (I consider the Masquerade Alice Slip I recently got to be functional, since it can be worn under clothing). I kind of forgot how odd it feels to have underwires in a garment that you will not be wearing outside the house. Kali is an OK fit, but due to the underwires, it's not the most comfortable thing in my collection. It's definitely cute though, so I can see myself ... prancing around in it, but not exactly lounging in it for comfort.

I have actually never tried the Kali bra in 30DD, so I can't compare it directly against one in my collection. However, I have a 30D, which fit me when I was 30D, and I have tried on a 28E before. Based on comparing the measurements of my Kali Babydoll to the 30DD Kali bras here on Bratabase, the main conclusion I can draw is that the band is far looser on the babydoll than it is on the bra. The band on the 28E bra I tried was 57 cm, and the band on the 30D bra I own is 58 cm. It seems that it's pretty common for Kali bands to run extremely tight. This babydoll is constructed as a bra top with a curved open panel seamed on to the bra band, hence it should fit exactly like a bra and can be measured exactly like a bra. This measured 62 cm, which I think contributes to most of the difference I feel in fit.

I have written in my Marcie and Lucy reviews that the cups fit me kind of funny if the bra band is not snug. In Marcie, the wires tend to take some adjusting to sit in place properly. In Lucy, the cups need some adjusting since it is not a full band style. Since Kali is very similar to Lucy, in not being a full band style, I get the simultaneous issue of wires needing a lot of adjustment and cups needing a lot of adjustment because the band is not snug. Once I get it on, the fit is pretty good. There is some wrinkling in the upper cup where the embroidered panel is a little too projected and too closed off for me, but it's not too bad. I just tried on the 30D Kali bra again and it's definitely too small in the cups, so I wouldn't be able to size down. The Lucy 28E is a better fit for me, but I remember having the same issue with wrinkling in the upper cup of Lucy 30DD. I can't be entirely sure, but I suspect that the proportions of 28E in Cleo fits are just more suited for my shape than the sister size of 30DD.

I think Kali and Lucy in my correct size are just designed for a more FOT shape than I have, and they work if I have a snug band, but in a looser band, the shape mismatch is more visible.

Other than this, it's a very cute style. I have the purple colorway, and it is a deep, rich eggplant shade. The only downside to the color is that it's so dark that it's hard to see the heart embroidery that makes Kali such a charming style. The babydoll is constructed exactly like the bra, with a double layer mesh and tricot bottom cup, scattered heart embroidery on the bottom cup, and a single layer mesh embroidered upper cup with a more concentrated heart pattern. The wires are slightly wide and C curved, the same as Marcie and Lucy. Straps are medium width matte elastic with a picot edge, and the center gore is decorated with a two tone grosgrain ribbon bow. The band is firm powermesh with a leotard back, and the hardware is contrast hot pink, same as the contrast used on the bow.

I didn't realize that this was going to be constructed as an open back babydoll, but really the body is just one panel of fabric that attaches to the band and is open at the back. It has curved hems and a flyaway back, sort of like an apron. I assumed it would have a closed back, but this construction is definitely easier to put on, so I don't mind.

It's a really cute style, but I am a little surprised that the band fits TTS for a standard 30 band and isn't as snug as the normal Kali band. I think 28E would be a better size for me in this style as that is my normal Cleo size, but it's still nice to have in my collection!

I love the style of this bra! I love the very round, but also projected cups. They run small, so size up. Band is very tight and firm for a 28. Straps very separated, but I'm ready to live with it. High gore is ok for my center fullness and its almost a straight line across, which is what i want. But I still have a bit of center spillage and some space at the outer corners. Straps are super uncomfortable and short. Wide wires. Will order in a bigger sister size.

  5. Marcie Balconnet Bra (6831)

Marcie was one of my best fitting bras when I was a 28DD/30D size, and I wore it all last summer. However, I always felt that the fit was good, but not great. Something just seemed a little off, though the bra was comfortable. After revisiting the fit, I realized that this is because I was in a 30 band, which just didn't provide enough stability for me, and the cups were just a little bit small. Though the bra fit me snugly in the cups, I really needed longer wires and a little more room in the cup as well as a tighter ... band.

I am currently wearing a size 28E, though now I think my problems in the 30D would have been solved if I had been able to get a 28DD instead. So, for this style, I would stick with your snug band size and do not try to sister size. The sister size will probably feel comfortable and look OK, but Marcie really needs a snug fit for the cups and wires to fit properly.

I've found, however, that version of the bras with no printed text on the underwires fit me best. Some of the bras are made in China and some in Thailand, but the older model without printed underwires all fit well. However, there's something weird about the versions that have the print on the underwires, and I am not sure why. I've ended up reordering and swapping out every Marcie to be sure I get the older version.

One problem I tend to get with Marcie is that the underwires tend to behave oddly at the gore without some adjustment. Some of them cross at the gore, and others just poke inward until the bra is properly adjusted. Once it's adjusted, there's no issues with comfort, but it could be why many other people have commented that Marcie's wires are uncomfortable.

This is a 3 piece soft mesh cup, with double-lined bottom cups. The upper cup is fantastic on this bra, since it's embroidered mesh with no additional edge elastic. The natural stretch of the fabric helps it fit a number of different breast shapes without being too closed-off. The cups are embroidered with polka dots and the upper cup is embroidered with butterflies, but the embroidery and seams are not visible under clothing. Straps are nice and wide, and I like the texture, which helps keep the straps in place. The band is firm powermesh with a leotard back. Unlike Lucy, Marcie has a full band, so it feels extra secure on me.

I own this bra in 3 colors in 30D and in 2 colors in 28E, and have also tried on the 28F. Currently, 28E fits me best, though the overall bra feels a bit snug now. I tried sizing up to 28F but it was way too deep and tall in the cups. For now, 28E Marcie is still my best-fitting unlined bra. It's a bummer that it's finally been discontinued!

Marcie in 30D was my best fitting and most-worn bra when I was a 28DD/30D, so I have also sized up and collected 28E for my current size. However, 28E used to be a little big on me, and recently I've noticed that it's very snug. I decided to try one more size up to 28F since I do wear 28F in some styles. Unfortunately, while 28E is just a little big small now, 28F is definitely too big.

Interestingly, the band on this bra is a little bigger than my Black Marcie in 28E, but this one feels tighter. Both are the older style, ... without the printed underwire, which is the version that fits me best. The band on this is very tight but definitely fastens OK. I usually have some trouble with Marcie's underwires crossing or digging in at the gore until I get the bra adjusted, but in this size, the wires are definitely too high and press into my sternum. The tight band is surely making the issue worse.

The rest of the underwire is OK, and I didn't find that it was too wide or too tall under the arms. The cups are now definitely too deep and too tall for me, as the whole upper part of the cup ends up empty. Ideally, I would have the same cup height as the 28E, but just a little deeper and more projected.

I also noticed on this particular bra that the straps are a little different from expected and are narrower. Once again, this is probably because the bra is an older version, but they are narrower on this bra than on every other Marcie I have tried.

I guess for now, I should stick with the Marcie in 28E and maybe try it with an extender, since loosening the band will also make the cups feel a little roomier. The 28E is still a great fit, it's just super snug on me at the moment.

This was a lucky first purchase. It encloses my full breast and has no spillage at the top. The first few hours the straps were tight, but by the second wear it was comfortable and sitting well. It gives a wonderfully round forward shape. This is a great bra if you are (quite) full on top and need projection throughout the cup, but especially immediately.

Managed to find this bra online and finally giving it a shot. Overall, the bra fits to my shape well. I'm still getting used to the look and feel as I usually buy lined bras. The lace does shift from fitting, to slight gaping, to slight digging in depending on my movements/stance. Two of my issues are that the wires dig in on my sternum. I've run into this issue with bras in the past several times. I'm fairly slim and do not have much fat or tissue on my sternum. Also, the straps are a little wide set and do sometimes rub on my arms. That being said, this is fitting better than my last bra.

I am looking for other bras that would fit similarly and open to suggestions from all!

I actually liked that this bra was beige and understated. Despite it not fitting, it somehow was still pretty comfortable. The fabric was soft and felt very nice against the skin. Unfortunately, the bra was simply to wide in the wires for me, and the gore was sitting on too much breast tissue and I was spilling out for it to be a viable option. It's certainly well-made and I'm sure it would be great to wear if it fit. Also, the band wasn't snug enough for me as it stretched to 30"

I own this bra in both colors, but this one I got in a 30H (sister sized from my usual 32GG that I have in my other koko muse and neve bras). Sister sized down just because I didn't have any everyday bras in a 30 band and I wanted to see how it felt for me. To be honest I don't feel a huge difference, it's maybe a bit more snug. I do like this melon/sorbet color scheme because for me, my skin as pink undertones, so it's not such a far stretch from working as a nude. Overall all, like my other koko muse and neve ... bras, this bra works really well for me and what I look for in an everyday bra. It's rounding and smooth under clothing, so a great T-shirt bra. It has great support and uplift. One minor pet peeve of mine with many bras that have j-hooks, as this does, is that it's in front of the strap adjuster, and since I have to tighten the straps more than half-way up, that leaves the j-hook on the front where it makes a small bump on the front of a t-shirt. But overall, a great bra!

Frankly, I'm surprised that this bra gives such a round shape. Typically bras that are cut this way end up looking very conical. Unfortunately this bra gapes a bit on top but I fixed it by sewing some padding into the cups.

  18. Maddie Moulded T-shirt Bra (7201)

I'm not sure how I forgot to review Maddie as it was one of the first Cleo bras I ever tried in my size of 28DD, and one of the first that fit me in this new size. At the time, I found the band to be comfortably snug and was impressed with the lift and rounded shape that the cups gave me, but thought the wide strap placement was a bit irritating by the arms. I later tried a 28E when I still measured 28DD and it was predictably too big.

Now, this bra is laughably short on me, and I've found that there is not ... enough projection even though the openness of the cup does allow it to accommodate a bit more fullness, making it a good choice for hormonal fluctuations. It no longer gives me the nice rounded shape I used to get, though I get pretty impressive Marie Antoinette cleavage since it only covers half my breasts in my current size. I tried to order this again in 28E, but Amazon accidentally sent me an entirely different bra, so I guess it's not meant to be.

After trying on more bras with this kind of shape, I've concluded that bras with short, open cups, a low gore, and wide set straps don't work well on me. These bras tend to run shallow in cup shape, but while they sit nicely when I'm standing up straight, the wide set straps and open cups gap whenever I move. So, while 28E would have more projection and taller cups, the width of the strap placement would still cause this problem to happen. This bra is shallow-friendly and good for tall roots, and can accommodate varying amounts of upper fullness. The cups are quite wide so the proportions are difficult for narrow frames or narrow roots.

I remember trying this style and Lexi at the same time, but ended up preferring this style. Though both fit similarly, Lexi had a really visible top edge that was obvious under clothing. The lace upper cup trim on Maddie is a little more subtle, though it appears wider.

The main theme of Maddie is contrasting texture, and the main fabric of this bra is a shadow stripe with textured ribbing that is echoed in the strap elastic (same elastic as Hettie). I like that the fabric has visual texture but doesn't show under clothing, and is soft to touch. The cups are a little thick for my tastes and are a little firmer than other molded T-shirt type bras in my collection. I really liked the firm band on this style, as it is made from the same stretch body fabric and lined with powermesh, so it is extra firm and stable despite the wings being on the narrow side. Other than the lace on the upper cup, the only decoration is a simple button at the gore covered in textured fabric.

I'm unsure if I will give Maddie another try knowing what I know now about cup shapes that suit my body. Though this bra runs a little small on me, it does give a nice push up effect, so I might still pull this out of the collection every once in a while for special outfits, but it isn't suitable as an everyday T-shirt bra for me.

    Didn't fit

At the time I purchased this bra, I measured 28DD and thought that Maddie in 28DD fit well but the cups were a bit shallow, so I tried to size up to 28E to see if I could get some more room in the cups. However, the 28E at the time was much too large on me. Maddie is already a wide style with wide-set straps, and in 28DD I get gapping when I move. The 28E had a bit more depth and cup height, but I couldn't fill out the upper cup and the gapping issue was much worse. This is a very shallow-friendly style and doesn't really suit my average projected shape.

I'd like to get my hands on this size again as I now measure 28E, but I also feel that this kind of open cup with wide set straps is difficult on me as the gapping issue is inevitable due to my narrow frame.
