Bought a cup size bigger as I read it runs small. This is not true for me as the cups gap a bit and are too wide. Another issue mentioned is that they curl outwards, this also was the case with the one I received. I love how snug the band is as I actually need a 26. I will try Neve one cup size smaller.
this bra has the same problem with not filling the cup as the millie does for me but it is not quite as obvious in the lucy. but if I hold my arms out in front of me the cups gape alot. I feel like my splayed boobs are not going along with the front and center the bra is going for, it's like it's not sturdy enough to make them go there. my nipples clearly sit below the apex of the bra so maybe I need to size down?
I had high hopes for this bra but the fit is strange. It's the top of the cups, the lacy part, that is causing all sorts of trouble. I feel like it asks or more central fullness at the same time as I don't see how the lace would not cut in if I did have that. When I just grab the lace at the center of the edge and pull it a little bit up and center I can actually tell that I do fill the cup and the lace. It's more like the lace is being pulled down by my boobs so that it sort of collapses and folds in on it self. help??
The first Maddie Spot I received had a stitching defect that caused the top of the cup to gape no matter what. So this is technically my second one! I have the Maddie Pop in 30DD and I think I do prefer the 28E. The band is very firm but comfortable. I definitely won't have any problems with it sliding around. Other than that it's exactly the same as the other printed design Maddies so it's perfect for me.
Super comfy. The band feels slightly tighter than most 28 bands. The fabric is very thin and doesn't hide my nipples well through a shirt. Supposedly this bra will hide most people's nipples since they line up with the seams, but my breasts may be too far apart for this to work as it should.
This review is for the Candy Pink Cleo Marcie. I originally bought it in a 28F which almost fit so I tried the 28E instead. The 28E is much smaller than my other 28E Cleo bras (Raspberry Cleo Marcie, Cleo Lucy, Cleo Kali, Cleo Nyla, Cleo Lily and Cleo Ellis). Everything about this bra is smaller, it seems like it should be a 28DD but is labeled a 28E. I kept it thinking it would stretch but don't wear it often enough. The under wires are the same width as the 28E bras I mentioned and narrower than the 28F Pink Marcie so I'm thinking it's meant to be a 28E. I should have returned this bra but it was my first experience with 28E's Surprisingly, the Raspberry Cleo Marcie fits well.
I was surprised to be quad-boobing out of this one. At first glance it seems to fit well, but once I did a real swoop and scoop from the sides I was spilling out over the top. I think I may have migrated breast tissue and I will wind up in a mostly 28F or even FF once I have all of this figured out.
It looks like 28F is going to be the correct size for me in this one. This is a great simple basic T-shirt bra.
This is the white Lucy. I like the strap width and the more narrow cups than the larger sized Lucy Cleos. I get quadboob above the center gore and above the left cup after I scoop. Very pretty lacey bra. Band is perfect, comfortable fit.
The cups gap a little bit at the top, where I do not have tissue to fill it out completely since it is spread so far upwards from there. As a result, the lace does not lay flat, and sometimes even tucks back into the cups.
However though, it is a nice, lightly padded bra. This is the first "padded" bra I have gotten since starting my journey. The padding is pretty thin, malleable, and very squishy. It is thicker than my plain molded Betty Johnson Retro Glamour Demi, so I understand the title of "padded." However, it is unlike normal matrix "padded" bras, so if you were afraid of that, don't be! It is maybe three millimeters thick, but doesn't even feel that thick.
Fun fact: The bra looked very yellow in the pictures I saw, but I have color deficiency, so in real life it looks more lime green! https://d28qt14g3opchh.cloudfront.net/smileys/icon_razz.gif" alt=":P" />
I was considering ordering it but it looked too yellow. Glad to know it's not!
Well, theoretically it still WOULD be yellow but it is just my eyes. However, I told my roommates about it and showed them the bra and they also thought it was green! So I guess the bra really is more green than the stock pictures show, and not just through my eyes.
You can look at the pictures I uploaded if it would help. I've been meaning to upload more but I haven't yet!!
It's like greeney yellow. Like a lemon/lime type thing going on. It looks super cute for summer!
I absolutely LOVE this bra! I have been lusting after it for a while and love how it looks in person! It fits well with just a little bit of puckering due to the tall, upper projection of my boobs. The band is snug but not uncomfortable and the fabric is soft and feels substantial!
This is the same colorway as the Olivia although it says Alexa on the tag. It does not fit me very well (I think) because I have tall roots. My smaller boob is also narrower and because of that makes this bra not work at all on that side. I could pull it off on the other boob, even though there is some wrinkling because the bra wants to cut in when my boob just keeps on going!
Firm band. I am told the candy pink colorway runs smaller in cups and band than other colorways do. Regardless, it fits my even breasts pretty much perfectly. Gives a nice shape.
The cups are too small for me, and the band although a 28 (which is what i measure) seems a little on the tight side...
The material feels good enough; it isn't particularly smooth or soft but it isn't scratchy or stiff. Still, I think it does a good job with structure and support due to it's less stretchy material (the band does not ride up). Other than that, I cannot say more because this bra did not fit me. Will be returning it.
Just a note, if the cups are too small, it may make the band seem tighter than it really is. I had a 28DD Ellis which felt way too tight, but every 28E Cleo I have had after that was perfectly comfortable. It also depends on preference, and some people say Cleo bands run snugly. I'm not sure. Regardless, yoy may want to keep that in mind :)
I see! :) Thanks tiggaren , will definitely keep that in mind. I do like the bands snug; keeps from riding up too much. Am going to try the correct size cup and see how it goes! :)
I tried the Lily in 28DD and found that while it wasn't a bad fit, it cut in slightly on my larger boob, so I decided to try the 28E for comparison (this is my usual size, or so I'm coming to realize!). The Lily seems a difficult bra to fit perfectly, because it's constructed in quite an odd way at the top of the cups - it's as if there's a little pocket just under the edge of the cups and you need to have projection just in that area to fill it properly. The material is also different just under the stripe at the top and ...has a tendency to wrinkle.
Despite this I found both this size and the 28DD to be decent though not perfect fits. The 28E fits well on my larger breast while the material wrinkles a bit at the top on my smaller breast, though this isn't visible under clothing. The bra gives a very nice uplifted shape under clothing, and I preferred it in this respect to the Marcie. As with the Marcie, the wires in this bra are too wide for me, but I found this to be less problematic in the Lily - perhaps because the wires seem to have more of a U shape compared to the 'Nike swoosh' shape of the Marcie. Overall I like the Lily quite a lot and especially the rounded and uplifted shape it gives under clothing.
I also got the matching undies in size 10. They're OK but fit pretty small, and on me are quite unflattering as they cut in a bit. I got these at a big discount so I don't mind too much that they're not a great fit, but I probably wouldn't bother buying them at full price. Read more 189 more words
I bought the 28E Marcie after finding that I got major quadboob in the 28DD version, but that the shape seemed OK for me. The bra itself is quite...pink, although I still prefer it to the yellow Marcie I tried in the smaller size! The shape works well with my tall roots and even to full-on-top shape, and the cup size definitely fits much better than the 28DD. However there's quite a jump in wire width between the 28DD and the 28E, and I found the wires in the E cup to be too wide and to dig painfully into my ribs. This is a problem I get ...quite a lot as my boobs have narrow roots, but it was particularly noticeable with the Marcie, perhaps just because the wires are quite rigid and so when they're not sitting where they should be they dig in. It's quite painful at the gore too, which I understand is pretty typical of Cleo bras. Oddly, I get some minor in-cup quad boob where the mesh part of the bra meets the lace, again an issue I've read others complaining about with the Marcie. However, this isn't visible under clothes.
I do quite like the shape I get with the Marcie - not quite as nice under clothing as the Lily, but still pretty good for an unpadded bra - so I might try wearing it for a full day and hope that the wires become less painful once the bra's broken in a bit. I like having another unlined option besides the Lily, even if it's not perfect.
I also have the matching undies in a UK size 10 (a size up from my general clothing size of 8, as I have quite an ample bottom in comparison to the rest of me https://d28qt14g3opchh.cloudfront.net/smileys/icon_mrgreen.gif" alt=":D" />). These run pretty small and the cut is quite unflattering on me too, as they're tight and cut in at the back - I'd probably even go up another size if I bought Cleo undies again. On the plus side, when I wear them with the bra they make me feel like a piece of cotton candy, so there's that. I got them very cheaply from mycurvesandme (£3.65) so I don't mind them being not perfect, but I don't think I'd pay full price for them or even half-price. Reasonable but not exceptional quality. Love this bra. It is really a good fit if you are in between 28E and 28F. This bra could fit someone who needs a 28 F also. The band is slightly looser than other Cleo 28 bands. And the wires seem more comfortable than the Lucy wires on my ribs. The band feels slightly bigger than Lucy's band bit not as loose as the Juna band.
This bra is so beautiful. It fits almost perfect. There is just a tad of gaping when I don't have my shoulders back in a good posture. If I were to get a smaller size the wires wouldn't be long or wide enough. Pictures were taken with a scanner.
This bra is a very good fit for me. My smaller boob has a little bit of wrinkling in the cup, but overall it's very good. I think I should be able to sew the cup a little bit to stop that. The bra is super soft and nice, the band is nice and snug, It feels very high quality... and I still find myself underwhelmed by this bra. I think it's the color scheme because it makes me think of an elementary school teacher and their room. I am a very artistic and visual person, and it bites me in the butt sometimes. I reallly like this bra, technically. It doesn't poke in the gore even though it's high, the cups are a bit too wide, but that's really all I can come up with. It fits very well, and it feels good. I will probably only wear it occasionally because of the print though. UHG. I frustrate myself sometimes with my craziness.
At first glance, my immediate thought was Wonder Woman!!! Granted, I can't really tell what the print is. It is very cute, though.

I'd have a hard time w that color scheme. I was going to refuse to try a 32HH - Cleo » Marcie Balconnet Bra (6831) a because it was only available in bright yellow (but then they came out in Raspberry). But then I got a purple 32J - Panache » Floris Balconnet Bra (7311) on sale on amazon and I LOVE it lol
How does the cup shape of this bra compare to the Marcie? I see that it's supposed to be a sister cut but sometimes that's not completely accurate.
Kristine I have another confession! I really don't care about super heroes either :/ I like the pattern, just not on me, ya know?! I'm soo difficult!
dbmamaz I wish I could get the Floris in my size! I love that colorway! I'm glad to hear that I'm not the only one who is weird about the color of the clothes no one sees except me and my boyfriend! haha
mandiiiiiiii I tried the Marcie in a 28DD and it was too small for me for sure. I think they are similar but not are similar as I would expect a sister cut to be. I would still recommend someone try the Melissa if the Marcie fits, but it would just be an educated guess.
Oh, I didnt realize Floris doesnt go down to a 28, sorry! Did you try the Marcie up a cup?
animated, I'm not a fan of super-heroes either. Colourway aside, I still think it's a cute bra.
I have not tried it in the next time up, but I plan to!
I was considering ordering it but it looked too yellow. Glad to know it's not!
