My shape: close set, center full, full on bottom, average/narrow width roots, tall shallow roots, semi soft tissue.
I'm just going to write a brief try on review because this bra is ridiculously too small for me. The band measures about 20.5" unstretched and 26" stretched with some wire distortion. I have an extender that I added just to try and assess the fit of the cups even with a full extender it was still somewhat tight. The fit of the cups (with the extender on) is too small, mostly quad boob near the center gore and I can't tell if the gore floats a bit or not since ...Comexim has softer wires. Side coverage near the wings is almost good, a bit to low. Wires are narrower than what I can wear (under 5") but since they're soft they sorta stretch and fit (not sure of the correct term). The cup height is pretty good, I love having a lower cup and the way it looks. I've been longing for another bra in a half cup shape.
I absolutely love the black fabric on this, it has a slight sheen and reminds me of black leather. This bra gives off a fantastic shape already (round, full) so I'm excited to try another size. I really want this bra to work so I am going to return this and try a different size. Read more 124 more words
This is the third time I’ve tried Lorraine. This time I think I can safely say it actually fits. I complained about my other two not staying in my IMF, cups being too tall, straps being too wide. But I’ve recently figured out I’ve been wayyyy overshooting my Comexim size - my index size apparently works just fine in their plunges - so I think previous issues I’ve had with this model were just down to too large of cups, not shallowness at the wire or immediate projection or anything like that.
I put this bra on this morning: it’s now evening and I almost forgot I was wearing it. That’s a win for me.
Since Comexim bands run small, I fit into a 65 which means I could order this cool leopard print bra (it only goes down to a 65 band) and I love it.
The Good: Typical Comexim cloud-like comfort. Fantastic narrow wires and gore. The cups on this one accommodate my immediate projection better than the 60H Mimi, which I think is because this one's a three part cup. It's so beautiful. The leopard print is gorgeous, and the straps have a tiny stripe of gold ribbon down the centre, which is insanely pretty. This is hands-down the sexiest bra I own.
The Bad: Again I see why requesting the straps be moved in 2cm is a popular alteration, but they stay on my shoulders so for me it's fine. Because it's a 65 band I'm already on the second-tightest hook, but at least I have a little room for it to stretch, unlike *cough* my Cleo Lexi.
The Ugly: There is nothing ugly about this bra. It's a winner.
I really wanted this bra to work, and it almost did! The band felt perfect when worn backward, so I think it was a function of the cups being too small. Swooping and scooping made everything painfully tight, so I made things “settle” before I took pictures (some of which weirdly didn’t upload?). Boobage was escaping out the sides and the top, and the wires were really cutting into me right where the front of my body transitions into the side of my body. Even with things settled, it still felt much too tight in the band, the bottom of the cup went unfilled, and my boobs were looking for every chance at escape. I think I’ve got the right band size, but am either 1 or 2 cups two small.
Sorry it didn't fit right. Are you planning on exchanging it?
It’s definitely small. Sorry. I think that you’re bigger than me (?) and I need 65HH. Will you try another size?
Did you order from breakoutbras? If so, the good news is easy returns, but their sizes often seem different, cups smaller, than bras direct from Comexim.
Whoa! Yes, this is definitely too small. Are your body measurements up to date? They look very far afield from the measured depth on this bra, that's the only reason I'm wondering. If you're now a bit smaller, a 2-cup jump should do the trick--if you are still the same as those measurements suggest you may need more depth.
Are you wearing a J-hook or crossing the straps in these photos? Some people need to do that all the time, so I wondered if that is how you normally would wear this bra? If so, for a good fit you need to not only figure out your conventional cup depth--but then you also need to determine, based on the cup's shape and proportions, whether you would then need to size up FURTHER to get a good fit with the cups tilted more centrally, as they are when a J-hook is used (sorry that sounded convoluted, haha!)
Perhaps you know this and take it into account systematically already but since this bra was such a tight squeeze, I thought maybe you were still in the process of figuring out this brand. They tend to run small and narrow in your size range, so if you have any side boob volume at all, any time you want to wear the straps this way, you want to make sure that that side volume will have enough room. I have virtually no side tissue but even in brands that run much wider and larger in the cup, if I use the J-hook in my regular size, it can easily displace the outer wire/cup forward juuuust enough to mess up the fit--so I size up 1 cup usually.
Wilderness1 and veggiechic Yes, I definitely want to try other sizes. I mostly tried this size because of the 65J 3HC I got recently, which is hilariously huge on me, so I figured I was more than 2 cups off and sized way, way down. It was a Bratabase bra though, not a Breakout Bra, so I can’t return it, but I got a very good deal; it’ll eventually get listed when I don’t need it around for comparing sizes/fits/cuts within Comexim.
Calluna I’ll definitely try another size, probably 65HH. I tried a 65J Ingrid from Breakout Bras, and never reviewed it because I didn’t quite know how to put into words that it felt a little too small swooped and scooped, but comically huge as soon as things settled. The 65J 3HC I got recently threw me off though in terms of sizing and made me think I was thinking way too big, but maybe that’s just because it’s a different cup cut than the others I’ve tried?
wendybien my body measurements are from October 2018, so it’s been a while. I haven't had to change clothes sizes in any way or had any major lifestyle changes, so I haven’t thought I’d need to update it. If anything I’d assume I’d gone smaller, but I’ll check up on that when I get the time.
And no, actually, but I am one of those people who has to have them crossed all the time, so it’s funny you mention that! My right shoulder has some issues, so it cannot bear much weight, and just about everything will immediately slip off of it unless it’s at an angle that it can’t, or tightened to hell and pushed as close to my neck as possible (which is what’s been done in this photo). This bra has no j-hook and can they multiway, but once I find a bra that fits me, I plan to alter the straps to multiway. I had no idea though that it could change what size bra I’d get.
Years ago, a 26GG/55J from Anna Pardal by Comexim was the only bra I could get to fit me. Perfectly! But time passed, and I’ve clearly changed sizes, so I’ve largely been focusing on Comexim since they made the only bra that fit me before. I’ve tried a 65J from Breakout Bras (maybe too big? Fit weirdly to the point it was hard to review), a 65J 3HC (HUUUGE on me, even more dramatically than this bra is small), and this bra. I’m going to be trying a 65HH plunge next. I know I’ve got the band size right, so now it’s a matter of cups.
wendybien Sorry I failed to tag you in the above post, I tried!
Robras ok I am a teeny bit less confident about the effect of crossing straps since I really only have 2 bras where I do that, but when I think of how they work with straps crossed vs. not crossed, and just picturing what it does in terms of repositioning the cups, I do think it will still have a similar effect to a J-hook--just more of a moderate effect because crossed straps aren't secured to one another in the middle of your back so there's a little more leeway for the boobs to "pull back" against the tension of the more-centered straps compared to the really strong central pull from a J-hook..
But so, yes, if my reasoning is right, I would think you'd still benefit from choosing sizes based on the assumption that your strap positioning will tilt the cups in a wee bit and even bring the outer wire ends forward slightly. This does open up more space at the center which is good for fitting center fullness, but can also create more than you need causing either spillage in the theoretically "right" cup volume or gaping in a larger volume. Plus, since Comexim is notoriously narrow, this effect might cause you to get wire sitting on tissue at the sides, idk, hard to speculate. I see you have an unusual number of nonwired styles in your bra list so if you've noticed lots of bras cause discomfort in the underarm area that might be a factor to consider, together with wing height of course.
Just generally, I've noticed--and heard other people comment--that changing size, or even going back to a size we've been before, typically changes our shape enough that the same brands that used to be perfect aren't great anymore, and the brands we couldn't wear sometimes now turn out to be an excellent option. So don't be scared to experiment--you may find new choices out there!
I do remember that in the past couple years, at Nordstrom Rack, amazon and elsewhere I noticed a lot of paramour/felina molded cups in racerback styles. Most of them fitted freakishly large in cup and small/firm in band: I needed a 34 (34!!!) band to be able to breathe (bearing in mind my underbust is a bit under 28" these days, snug not even break-the-tape tight). So, I am not sure if they are still in circulation or if they have since rectified the weird sizing but if the same ones are still around, I think they could be worth looking at for anyone who needs this centered strap positioning.
Robras i believe multi-way conversion is one of the alterations you can request from Comexim directly as well.
cupandahalf Yes! I’ve asked about this. I want to make sure I get my size correct before I place an order though, so I’ve been delaying it.
wendybien First off, thank you for all the info! I pretty religiously stick to multiways over the J-hook because with one shoulder so sunken, the hook ends up way off center and uncomfortably under my shoulder blade.
I had NO IDEA about that with regard to changing sizes – I thought your shape always stayed he same, and only your size changed. Mayhaps I’ll have a bit of exploring to do!
I have a ton of non-wired bras. 80% of which are not listed here because I haven’t gotten around to all of them! Anyhow, that’s because it’s a lot easier to find sports bras that multiway and let my shoulder move pain-free than it is to find underwire bras in the right size. I get little support, but I can cross my straps in the back.
Bras being too tall and having wings that come too high at the sides is a chronic issue for me. Charlotte form Parfait by Affinitas fits me PERFECTLY in 28H, except its wings and wires are too high at the armpits.
I live SUPER rurally, so trying things on in-store is rarely an option :/
I purchase this bra from a fellow community member. I saw: "60F Comexim Burgundy Half Cup," and immediately wrote. Gimme, Gimme, Gimme! I've been drooling over this model since I saw it and figured I might be able to get away with a 28:6 since my @Comexim , plunge bra fit in the same size. I purchased and received it within several days, first time I've ever had a transaction happen that quickly! I tore into the package and pulled out the bra....my immediate thoughts were: "There can not be this huge if a discrepancy in the sizing from Comexim...even if this is a half ...cup instead of a plunge." Then I looked at the tag....oh...it says 30F not 60F/28F. That explains the difference. I went back to the users page and looked up their data for the bra where there was a picture of the tag saying "30F," not 60F. It was listed as 60F, not 30/65F, but there was the picture that I did not look at before ordering. So I can't be upset. I'm getting it worked on to be fixed right now. So, sometime in the future you will see this bra labeled as 30/65F instead of the 60F it was originally tagged. Even though I was convinced it wouldn't fit by eye, I decide that I might as well try it on since I purchased it. That's where I was totally surprised! Some how, this 30F technically fit. I have to say technically because it DID NOT FIT. At first I put it on the third hook, just because I always hook the bra on the hook that I naturally close it on when first trying on a bra. I needed to loosen the straps a bit. But there it was. On my body, no gapes, it FIT me. This was quite astounding to me even though I previously knew that the cup depth was 7.5". Decided to wear it to work on one of my computers days instead if one of my laborious days. I only stayed at work for five hours that day, but that was still enough time for me to decipher the fit of the bra. It doesn't fit, so I will be selling it if it doesn't fit any of my nieces either. I have three nieces and I know it won't fit one of them because she wears like a 32/30F and VS has her in 36DD, she wears 36D from like Wal-Mart. Yes. I'm on a mission, lol. The quality is pretty darn good per the norm for @Comexim . I have the same opinion on the fabrics of this bra as I do with my other Comexim bra. They're not very soft or supple and I could see the foam on the inside of the cup being irritating to those with sensitive skin. I really don't understand why (a lot of) brands keep using the really nice soft and smooth fabrics on the outside of the bra but then leave the inside of the bra raw. I wish they would just line the foam with something more comfortable. The fabrics were not uncomfortable for me, nor did they chafe or feel offensive. There was not much stretch in the fabrics either and the bra was very stable on my body. Even though I decided to use the middle hook instead of the tightest hook when I wore the bra to work. This half cup bra was full coverage on me. Nothing like the stock photos would suggest. It was also VERY shallow compared to my other Comexim bra; take note that my other Comexim bra is a plunge style. Due to the bra being so shallow, it felt like my boobs were being compressed into my chest. The top of the cup was only a bit deeper than the bottom/middle of the cup. I'm used to half cup bras getting significantly deeper at the top of the cup, so this bra could be very good for shallow women with softer breast tissue. The side of the cup started rubbing against my arm pretty bad come the end of the night. This is one of the main reasons I won't wear this bra. I still think this bra could work for me in a 28 band, perhaps a 28F/E, depending of course. Hopefully it won't be as full coverage in a size more appropriate for me. I want to say that these wires are very wide. They ARE very wide on me; sitting a good inch plus behind my breast root. I did some follow up research on how very wide these wires were because (A) It's a Comexim bra and (B) I needed to know if this was normal for the half cup in this size. No. It's not normal, not even for other bras of this same model. I suppose that this bra is the elephant in the room. According to the measurement table for The Burgundy Half Cup this 30F has the same cup width as a 30/65H. Perhaps the original owner (not the person I bought from) asked for wider wires? Or this one could be a fake? Who knows. I know that it is FREAKING WIDE! 5.5" when measured at the top of the wires, inside seam to inside seam, 5.25" when measured at the middle of the cup; again inside seam to inside seam. Because this bra was so wide, my breasts kept trying to migrate under my arms to fill up the cup. This was exacerbated by the shallowness of the cup squishing my breasts to my chest wall. I was constantly feeling the need to pull my boobs back into the cups. I think if I had put a little push up pad behind my breast root, then that could've stopped the migration. This is the other reason why I will not ever wear this bra. The wires are also really soft and flexible. I like this about Comexim bras, but there are pro's and con's that come with softer wires. The gore would not lay flat because of these soft wires. I typically do not have a problem with gore's tacking or laying flat on my sternum. Even if they are sitting on breast tissue they still pay flat because I am fairly shallow there. Instead the gore sat diagonally on my body. The wire on my right side (smaller breast) sat against my sternum while the wire on my left side (larger side) sat on breast tissue. Since the wires were soft and not being forced to sit flat, this was not uncomfortable and I did not notice until I was taking the pictures for BtB. Look at my pictures for a visual explanation. The straps were not as wide as I imagine they could've been for a 30F. They sat at the edge of my comfort zone for strap width and I did not feel the need to pull them in on my shoulders. Of course, they're wider than I would prefer and I'm sure wider than most women in my size range would prefer. But they were OK. Not really big on comfort or softness. They weren't uncomfortable or scratchy. They were not thin nor did they dig in. The straps are practical and get the job done. Not much else one could ask for besides a more luxe feel. If I'm recalling correctly, they are fully adjustable. The band was very stretchy feeling. Though this could be attributed to being a used bra. I easily stretched it to 30", but the very soft wires began to warp at about 28". All in all, I still really like the bra despite it's minor short comings. Perhaps this was a bra ordered with customizations that I don't know about or maybe just an odd one. At any rate, I look forward to trying it again in my size. I hope the cups will be less full coverage and give me this oomph, this "cakes on a plate" sort of cleavage that people keep talking about! At least to the extent that me boobs will allow. Let me know what you think and if you have any insight or recommendations.
If the tag says 30F, it was originally purchased from a third party seller, not Comexim direct. Third parties try to convert Comexims EU sizing into UK sizing. In Comexims terms, this bra would be a 65G... hence the reason it measures more like a 65H in sizing. I’d be surprised if the cup depth is actually only 7.5.” 5.0-5.25” is about right for a Comexim 65G. Yes their 3HC cut is shallow at the apex compared to their plunge cut, however it typically has more immediate depth. Or rather, it used to, although I’ve seen reports on the contrary lately.
A bra bought directly from Comexim will have no tag, just the sewn in label, which unless they’ve changed things lately will always read just their EU size. If you need a UK 28E or 28F in Comexim, you should look for EU 60F or 60G.
I have this bra in 65G (I usually wear a UK 28E/F for reference) and also found it to be on the wider/shallower side. So much so, actually, that I have a crease near the wire where the cups have collapsed. I would double check the cup width and depth for you, but I bent the wires narrower when I first got it and I'm sure it's pretty stretched out at this point.
I ordered 4 half cups from them late last year, and they are all very shallow at the wire. Do you have conical breasts by any chance? It's really hard to get cakes on a plate with them, think about how much you have to push on a cone to get it to ball up. Not saying you can't, but I've never been able to achieve it.
The user I bought it from bought it from someone else thinking it was a 65G. The only "tag" with this bra is the sewn in label which says 30F, and is pictured , lcl0706 . I know their sister brand, Wellfitting, labels their bras with US/UK sizes. But all my other Comexim bras have only an EU size as well. The user whom I purchased from also had the cup depth as 7.5". I measured several times as even I did not feel it was quite right. I tried stretching the cups, measuring at the very top. 7.5" was the maximum measurement I got unless I measured on the outside of the cup. kohakuriver , measured the cup width a dozen times. Straight line, inner seam to inner seam at the top of the wires was always 5.5" (with a human error measurement about a quarter of a centimeter) and at the middle of the cup was 5.25". Ty. ^.^
I know Sovavosi Lol. I typically say I am conical because my nipples are pointy and I have much center fullness. Even my SO said the same thing lol. But if I use my hands I can get cakes on plate cleavage!!! *whines*
I can get if I use my hands too, but I have to flatten my boobs completely to get it. :(
Sovavosi same here, squished WAY together or squashed almost flat are my options for cleavage.
swapped this bra thinking it was a 65G but the tag says 60F and it is definitely too small for me. I get crazy quadding but nice cakes on a plate cleavage in this bra.
I requested the gore be a total of 5cm (~2 inches), and the gore seems unaltered. The gore is overlapping, and between this and the unaltered gore, the cups have a little too much room near the gore. The straps feel like they're too long. I've adjusted the straps halfway, but they still feel too long. I also requested the straps be narrower, but they're not. The cups feel like they don't have enough depth at the wire.
Ive had this bra for couple of months now but never had a chance to wear. I just need to finally let it go as it wont fit me. First of all its really pretty! The brown base with cream lace on top makes it quite sexy. Also combination with salmon ribbons fits well. The bra is in 65 so it is big too tight on me as I dont like very snug bands - I could close it but feels much more comfier with 2 rows from extender. The wires are okay, but could be more narrow - I didnt bend them as I dont wear it, but ...if Id wear it id definietly bend wires The strap placement is not bad, feels better than some other comexims that I own. Also the straps are fully adjstable and very comfy. The cups.. this is the main problem. 65G is my sister size from standard 70F, and unfortunately I have quadboobs, but the quadboobs are casue by the ribbon on top of the cups. I dont have any other comexim with this ribbon on top, but all in 70f fits me well including 65G - Comexim » Mascotte which is same size as this one. Really pretty bra, but if Id ever try to replace it I would go with plunge without the ribbon on top or as a Halfcup Read more 124 more words
I'd recommend ordering it as HC. Mine doesn't have the ribbon and as a result it is pretty open on top. It's also gorgeous with the lace continuing over the tops of the cups :)
I got this along with 65G - Comexim » Victoria Plunge Bra , and this one fits much better. The band is looser, fits me without an extender. There is minimal quad on the bigger side so thats not an issue at all. straps are nice and comfy, however id prefer narrower set for more comfort. Overal I really like this bra, however im still tempted to try it as a 3hc with few modifications : )
Really gorgeous bra. The eyelash lace lining the tops of the cups is extremely attractive - the shade of blue used is also amazing and reflects beautifully under light. This seems more "true to size", however, I only have another 65G to base this opinion on. The base of this is a very pale beige that matches my skin color well because I have only been sighted outside about 12 times in total. It seems that any quad that exists is masked by the eyelash lace, but I am pretty sure just the cut of it is a tad bit too small at the top. However, I have a lot of upper fullness to take into account. Really a beautiful bra, though the fastener is a 2x2 that is oddly spaced and doesn't seem to match any extenders I've seen!
This looks great although after wearing it for a day I realized it is a bit on the too tight side. I'm not sure if it's because the band is a bit on the small side or because I could use a bit more projection. I'm going to try wearing it with an extender and see if that solves any of the issues. I do get a bit of bubbling, but not full blown quadboob, which as long as it's not noticeable I don't mind. Without an extender by the end of the day my chest was in pain from the pressure of the gore. I will update this after I try wearing it with an extender.
This is a very pretty red bra with little glitter apple decorations. It is my best fitting and most comfortable Comexim so far, the fabric doesn't feel as heavy as 65G - Comexim » Ingrid Biustonosz (289) or 70F - Comexim » Basic (170) . It gives a nice smooth shape under clothes, but not as much lift and rounded shape as my Ewa Michalak bras, which remain my favorite of the two Polish brands.
This bra is amazing! It has narrow wires, as most Comexim's do, and fits my UK30E's almost perfectly. It covers everything important, and is supporting enough to offer a nice rounded shape. It's got a sort of plunge, which shows off just enough cleavage to be sexy, but not inappropriate. I am petite and have narrow shoulders, so the straps are set too far apart and the cups are a little too tall, but not nearly as bad as some other bras. I also think I probably should size down in the band, as my snug measurement is 27.4 and this rides up too much, even on the tightest hook brand new.
This bra is AMAZING. The color in person is a deeper purple than what's in the stock image, but I think it's better.
The straps are almost a hair too wide, but I have really narrow shoulders; I think it's just an unfortunate side effect of being petite. However, the straps aren't sitting on any nerves that cause any kind of pain, which is fantastic. it's really comfortable, and the straps are very soft.
The left cup gapes slightly, but this is due to my left breast being smaller than my right breast, it fits well on the right side; I'm currently experiencing some VERY minor quadboobage, but ...I'm close to starting my period (as of Aug 6, 2013) so I'd imagine that the cup won't quad so much once my period ends. It's very slight and doesn't bother me at all. The gaping is not at all noticeable under a form fitting top. I am having to adjust myself by scooping and swooping, but I'm sure over time this will no longer be needed; I've been wearing bras that are too wide in the cups, and they have spread my breasts towards my armpits, so I have to retrain my breasts to go back where they belong. Since I'm close to starting my period, my right breast is pushing the cup off my chest a little bit, so the gore is floating by less than .3cm
The band is firm and gives great support, and the elastics are not digging in or cutting into my skin. I am getting a smooth profile on the sides and back. I am somewhat aware of the band, but at the same time, I can take in a strong deep breath and there's no change in terms of it cutting in uncomfortably.
The overall construction of the bra is fantastic, excellent finishing and doesn't itch or anything like that.
If I really had to nitpick, I would say the gore could maybe be about 1/2cm lower, but on the flip side, my breasts are really soft so I think if the gore was lower, I would get a very unattractive boob spill since my breasts are on the softer side due to pregnancy and breast feeding. Again though, I'm also extremely petite, the measurement from between my clavicle and to the level of my inframammary fold is only 19cm or 7inches. Read more 287 more words
This bra might be about a half size too big in the cup. There is a tiny bit of gapping near where the cups - which are quite tall - meet the strap, even on my larger side. For reference, I'm a 30DD-E UK and I typically wear 65G in Comexim plunges (30F in BB Comexims), but 65G half cups are not tall enough for me in the cups and wings.
With this bra, the underwires are very firm, as is the band. The fabric is smooth. Overall this is a solid, firm bra, in a classic style, with narrow wires and a very narrow gore.
I am in love with this colorway. This is my first 3HC and it’s too small in the size that fits me for Comexim plunges. The cup is not high enough and neither are the wings, mainly on my larger side. It’s so beautiful though!
I bought this plunge because the Breakout Bras plunge I bought in 30F fits great. It also fits well, though it gives a little less oomph, and feels “foamier” even though the foam is lined with fabric?
I have several other comexim bread and they're all slightly different. This one is about half a cup larger than it's 'basic' counterpart. This bra is really comfortable and I really like the funkyyy pattern! I'm fot/even and super squishy tissue and have wideish roots. I am more on the muscle-y side in my shoulders and upper body.
Oh my! That band is waaaayyy to small for a 65. It may have been mislabeled. Defiantly worth exchanging it for a better fitting one.
