I ordered this lace bralette during my hunt for a comfortable wirefree bra that either has separate band and cup sizing, or uses S/M/L sizing but accommodates small band large cup sizing. I had heard good things about the Cosabella Curvy line of bralettes, but the one I was looking at (the Cosabella Sweetie) didn’t have a clasp. I came across two others, the Trenta Bralette and the Dolce Bralette, that did have clasps, so I ordered them.
Cosabella bralettes are S/M/L, but they have two sizes below S: Petite and X-Small. In the Curvy line of Cosabella bralettes, a Petite accommodates sizes from 28DD-30F in US sizing. ...That’s a little smaller than my usual size, but within the bracket of potentially fitting me, so I ordered a Petite in each style. The next size up, X-Small, is intended for sizes 30DD-32F in US sizing, so I worried the band would be too big, especially given that bralettes are typically less supportive than full bras.
This is really the main mistake I made here: the Trenta and P - Cosabella » Dolce Soft Bra (DOLCE1301) that I ordered were not part of the Curvy line. When they came they did seem to have a lot less fabric than I was expecting, but I thought maybe they were just very low-coverage. Upon trying them on, I realized the issue. The typical Cosabella bralette sizing for a standard bralette is very different than that of a Curvy bralette. The Petite I ordered was intended to accommodate sizes 28A-30C. Read more 149 more words
I had high hopes for this bralette, but unfortunately they were dashed. I don’t know if mine is mislabeled or what but this supposedly fits up to a 30F, and I just don’t buy it. The search continues.
My shape: close set, center full, full on bottom, average/narrow width roots, tall shallow roots, semi soft tissue.
The lace on this bralette is beautiful and the color is truly gorgeous. The size small is a little too big in the band for me, the back rides up and I can feel it is too loose. The cups are okay and don't seem too big, it looks more fuller coverage than the size XS - Cosabella » Never Say Never Curvy Sweetie Soft Bra (NEVER1 . The straps on this bralette are thicker, wider, feel sturdier and are longer than size XS as well which I liked more. However, the straps are adjusted to their shortest length, so I could not shorten them more with time if I were to keep this. This is probably a good bralette for those who always need longer straps, have a longer torso, or are low-set.
Cosabella seem to understand the needs of small band medium bust people really well. The cups are roomy and would allow some projection. I think it should be able to fit up to 28E/F but maybe not FF and above. The bralette is not overly stiff/constructed, so it feels comfy and supportive without being restricting like a sports bra. The band is a bit loose but not too loose for me (26.5" underbust), and because of its width, it does not ride up. Thanks to the slight looseness, I am able to pull it over my shoulders and bust without any difficulty and pain. I would prefer it ...to be a bit tighter with hooks on the back, but I am happy with the current design. Cons: the lace pills a bit after several wears, and the underband would roll up with the tension. Also, I can see it being less supportive for larger sizes if it is constructed in the same way in L/XL. But overall, this is a great bralette for people with small ribcages and medium bust--I would say better than all other bralettes I have tried. Read more 82 more words
Trenta is beautiful and very comfortable. It gives me a very natural shape without pointiness, and no more support than I need (I don't need much).
My shape: Short narrow roots, average-to-moderate projection, slightly outer-full and very slightly top-full, slightly wide-set and slightly high-set.
Material: The band is made of the same stretchy lace that is used for the cups (with an additional VERY thin mesh lining in the cups). On the cups, the stretch lace is wonderful, but on the band, it emphasizes rather than hides the rolls I get on my lats from the elastic squeezing. This bra is going to be very cool and ...breathable, but because of the "squeeze rolls," I doubt I'll ever wear it with a top that is both thin and snug. It's surprisingly non-itchy for a lace bra, and I suspect that after I wash it the itchiness will be gone or nearly gone.
Band: Large for a 36. I've got it on the tightest hook brand new; if they'd had a 34 at the same sale price, I would be exchanging. The band is also quite stretchy, in addition to being large... that is, while there is a noticeable difference between wearing it on the loosest hook and wearing it on the tightest hook, it doesn't feel like as much difference between the two as other bras I have. There are four columns of two hooks each. 3/4 inch spacing between hooks (if you're considering using an extender).
Wires: U-shaped and very flexible. The wires are actually too wide for me, but they're so soft and flexible that I didn't notice they were too wide until I felt along them with my fingers. The too-wide-ness also doesn't cause any fit problems in the cup for me, so I'm good with it.
Gore: Very narrow. The wires touch at the top of the gore, the wires themselves are very skinny, and the wire channel is sewn skinny (hugs the wire tightly). Normal height for a demi-cup.
Cups: Unlined. There is a single vertical seam from the apex of the cup down to the center of the wire, and there is a thin, stretchy line of extra elastic running across the top of the cup. Both the lace and the elastic could definitely stretch to accommodate more center- and top-fullness than I have, but there's no gaping or wrinkling. Like I said above, the shape is very natural, giving me a bit of lift and a bit of rounding but not turning my boobs into halfglobes. If you're looking for cleavage in this bra, you better be providing your own.
Straps: Comfortably close-set. They seem a bit longer than most; while I had no trouble shortening them to the proper length, it seemed that I came much closer to "short as they'll go" than I usually do. The straps feel smooth against skin and, like the rest of the bra, quite stretchy. Adjustable only on the back. Read more 391 more words
This is an unlined cotton bra, perfect for summer. Everything is good with this bra with the exception of the band being just a touch on the tight side, not so tight that I can't wear it, but just enough to be slightly annoying. I'm hoping it will loosen up after the first few wearings. The cups are decently wide and enclose the whole breast. Being an unlined cotton bra, the shape is very natural with minimal to no added lift, which is fine for my size but I couldn't imagine being much bigger and finding this bra to provide adequate support.
This is basically a shapeless bralette that is waaay too stretchy. There is no support (yes it does not have an underwires but soft cups can still have support) and I don't know how the bra fitter got me to buy this bra. She measured me as a 32c and then had me try this on (bratabase would not let me put the real size which is a S-CH/30-32). The band stretched out almost immediately after buying it and I was disappointed as it is my most expensive bra. I fall out in the center but there is too much material on the sides so it folds and wrinkles. Unless you are really small (don't need any support and just want a bra that will hide erect nipples), I do not recommend getting this bra.
I like to have an unlined, underwire bra around for hot days or for when my boobs are feeling super sensitive. Thought this Cosabella might work for me... back before I figured out (thanks to this site and others) that my wide, shallow boobs need wider underwires than this. The 32B cups are too small on me, but I don't know if I will try to size up in this bra or not. The fabric feels kind of scratchy and I could probably use a smaller band size, though the band seems to run a little bit small and this bra does have 4 columns of hooks instead of the usual 3, so it could be tightened up a little extra.
I bought this bra in France and is one of the most beautiful garments in my lingerie drawer . The cups are slightly too large but it's pretty don't you think?
Has absolutely no support, but it's a bralette and that was expected. Comfortable. Cute. Husband loves. https://d28qt14g3opchh.cloudfront.net/smileys/icon_wink.gif" alt=";)" /> Not great for post-nursing mom boobs, however...
