  1. Princess Balcony Bra (CK6001)

Curvy Kate Princess Balcony Bra (CK6001) This colorway is much prettier than nude. It fits similarly to my strangely large but low cut 40HH - Curvy Kate » Princess Balcony Bra (CK6001) in nude. I think that bra is a fluke. I also think if you have a square or upside down 7 shape in Curvy Kate you should try a cup size up because in my other princess in blueberry in 40hh I get slightly droopy boobs that I don't get in this bra. However the straps are too wide set. https://d28qt14g3opchh.cloudfront.net/smileys/icon_sad.gif" alt=":(" />

I wore this with an extender because I'm a 40 band. All the problems I have with bras in one. Gore much too tall so my touching breasts push it out. Cups too shallow and too tall cause my breasts to curve back on themselves against my chest due to my omega shape. The band is firm and stays up. I think for someone without touching breasts that push out tall gores, who isn't omega or quite as immediate projected as me, would find lots of stability because the cups do have a fair amount of center and apex projection for strapless. I will stick with straps though.

  3. Thrill Me Padded Bra (SG3001)

    1
    like

    28HH

    Didn't fit

This is by far the best fitting Curvy Kate bra that I have found so far. While I love the Tease Me, the bands have given me trouble. The 28 fits more like a 26 and the 30 fits more like a 32. The gap in sizing in the Thrill me bra isn't nearly as bad. This 28 band fits more like a 30 and I have to wear it on the tightest hook row. The cleavage is a perfect, not too much. Many complaints have been about ability to wear under clothes. I have yet to find a bra in ... my size (28HH) that does not show under tank tops. Living in Texas this means I either have to alter my tank tops, which never come out fitting right anywhere else, or deal with my bra straps showing. I prefer the latter. At least these are a pretty color and have cute bows. So what if I look like "that mom" of my kid. Tell the bra industry to start making bras for larger cup sizes on thin people to be worn under clothes. Tell the fashion industry to start making clothes that fit in the bust readily and affordably available to the general public. Enough for my rant.
I wear alot of loose boyfriend style or small men's off shoulder type shirts. The ribbon is not very noticeable with these. A long necklace gives amazing "seatbelt cleavage" so it doesn't look like I'm wearing a sportsbra or "uniboob" effect. It also allows for a thin frame with large breasts to be able to wear non-form fitting clothing without looking 15 pounds heavier. Long heavy pendant necklaces rock. Other than small men's tshirts, my "uniform" is black tank tops or cheap black v or scoopneck fitted tshirts from Ross junior's department. I own 20 of each. The ribbon is noticeable, the scoop or v-neck shows collar bones but doesn't go crazy with cleavage, and this bra, unlike the illfitting VS dream angels push ups I used to wear before learning there is more to life than DDD. For those who are thin with large bust, things like collar bones on fitted clothing and "seatbelt cleavage" from necklaces on looser clothing can equate 15 lbs. Seriously. On the tight fitting clothes it so nice to finally have a bra that doesn't give me bra bulge, armpit fat, back fat, etc, from miscplace breast tissue. For years I have HATED the back fat effect under fitted clothing because my bra band was too big and my cup size too small. This bra does a tremendous job with helping that. Its still a little loose in the band but its better than I've experienced yet.

  5. Aloha Padded Plunge Bikini (CS3051)

Fit: Unlike other bikini brands, this is built snug so it won't stretch too big under water. Therefore it remains true to size/a little smaller than true to size. I have yet to wear it swimming but I will amend my review when I do. The cups are a little small on me, probably to give a nice push up effect. I have considered sizing up one cup and if I find one cheap in 40J I will. I think the cup size is the reason why I have some gapping on my large size at the armpit. However, there is gapping on ... both sides, and my smaller side looks like it fits in the cup well, so it might just be a fit problem with my very narrow projected breasts being incompatible with the wider, shallower Curvy Kate padded cups (because unpadded CKs fit me really well). I get cakes on a plate cleavage but I will have to change the straps to pull towards my neck versus to the back like a regular bra. If I liked halter necks, it would probably remove the gapping completely, but I can't take the weight on my neck. When I change the straps to move towards my neck, angled inward, I can see that the gapping on the side is way better, as my breasts get pushed together. I wish the straps were thicker and firmer so they didn't fold over from the weight of my chest. The shape is lovely from the size, and the wires are nice and low in the center, so comfortable.

Comfort: Very comfortable except for the thin straps. The Lycra is soft and the inner molded cups are not scratchy.

Style: The shirring at the bottom of the cups is a little loose, and I worry about it moving around in the water. I have considered tacking it down, but I'll have to think about how to do that. The pattern is beautiful. My favorite colors are on the aqua/turquoise spectrum, and red. Basically this ticks all my boxes of beautiful color. It's definitely a 70s revival style print, and it's very fun. I have a pair of red, a pair of white, and a pair of aqua bottoms from Forever 21 that match and I feel pretty spectacular in this suit.

Fit: The band stretches like a 40, so I can wear it without an extender. This fits differently than my Blush 38J - Curvy Kate » Florence Balcony Bra (CK8001). It's exactly the same in every way except depth. The cup is half an inch shallower than the blush. I feel much more contained in this colorway than in the blush, but I do quad slightly on my larger side. If only it had a quarter inch more depth!

    Comfort: Soft, comfortable, great!

Style: I like this so much more in black. It has the same lace but you don't notice the clunky pattern in black.

Very short, projected, slightly narrow, center full, close-set, even breasts....

Plunge halters do not work with my breasts. When the band is supportive, my breasts are uncomfortably compressed and bisected by wires in the center. When the band is loose and provides no lift, my tissue comfortably fits in the cups and my neck aches from the halter supporting the weight.

The material drapes and camouflages well. For my dimensions, the 30" band fits my waist (26") and hips (40") better. This 32" is floating, but it is very comfortable.

Although I really like this vibrant fabric, I may have to revert to the less interesting Luau Love balconette tankini. Or, continue worrying about escapees while I swim with my daughter. Sigh.

  9. Ellace Balcony Bra (CK4401)

    1

    38J

    Fits

Feel: This bra seems to be a similar cut/shape/support as the Florence. The difference is the stretch lace on the top of the cup. The rest of the cup is a soft non-stretch mesh. The band is firmer than the Florence, less stretch, so the correct band size is necessary. The wires are softer than my Curvy Kate Cabaret, and I can't tell if they would mold to the body or not as I'm not keeping this bra. All the fabric is soft and comfortable. The band has a layer of soft thick latte colored fabric on the bottom for softness and support. ... This matches the bows. The straps are stretchy and fully adjustable.

Shape: Narrow and super deep. The gore is also narrower. The wings are low and don't cut in. The straps look wide but that's with an extender. In my proper band size they would fit well and there would be no gapping under my armpit. Though there is no side sling in the three part cup there is no side projection or flattening. In total, a perfect shape for me, and ideally creating a projected but rounded shape.

Fit: This bra technically fits perfectly. I get a great gore tack but the wires are softer so they don't dig in to my chest. There are some serious problems with this bra in my size/breast texture. My breasts are very soft and soft materials allow them to wobble and bob. Besides the band, the very soft stretchy straps combined with the very soft stretchy lace produce create a scenario where my breasts feel like they can move around freely. I like more containment and bounce minimization than the Ellace can provide me. On top of that, though the depth is amazing, the difference between the non stretch bottom and stretch top cause very visible in cup quadding. I feel that if the lace and straps were only a little more stretch restricted none of this would be a problem and I would have the perfect bra.

    Didn't fit

Fit: Except for very slight quad/tissue escape on the side, it fits. The underwire is narrow and short on the sides. The band is more like a 40 than a 38, very stretchy. The cups are true to size. The gore is nice and low so I don't have my breasts pushing it out too much. The shape is unbeatable if you want round, projected breasts that face forward. This bra might be a Cleo Marcie Balconnet Bra (6831) for narrower, shorter-rooted/high breasts.

After reviewing a lot of measurements, in this size this is a quite similar cut ... to the Curvy Kate Cascade Balcony Bra (CK3601), which is a very slightly shallower, lower gored cousin of the Curvy Kate Bardot Balcony Bra (SG3101), Curvy Kate Florence Balcony Bra (CK8001), and Curvy Kate Ellace Balcony Bra (CK4401).

Look: It's got a cute pink and black floral print with baby blue bows. The top of the cup is sheer in my size. This is not exactly my style, but it's fine.

Comfort: Oh those low wires not poking or anything is really luxurious. The embroidered cups are slightly itchy, as is the narrow elastic on the band. However the main cup fabric is silky and soft. The straps are stretchy and soft.

This was edited upon a second try-on and measuring session. This is a brand-new release from Curvy Kate.

Me: Very short, narrow, roots. High set, round, pendulous uber- projected, full in center, full on top to even.

I would describe this shape as a true demi plunge in this size. When I first put it on I thought Holy Shit are those MINE?!?! Because I look so hot, I have center and cakes cleavage. To the point where I'm pretty sure it's too small (or too short for my short roots?!?!?) even though it's in my usual Curvy Kate size.

Fit: Basically the ... same as my 38J - Curvy Kate » Cabaret Plunge Bra (CK5111), very similar measurements, but with shorter cups (like an inch shorter!). The wires are softer than the Cabaret. There is in-cup quadding and slight quadding on my large side. The band was about the same size as my 38J Cabaret so I used an extender, but it immediately stretched to 40 inches when I tried it on, which with the extender felt less secure. The second time I wore it I did not use the extender and adjusted the straps up a bit, which provided a much more secure fit, but this is when I experienced a tiny bit of quadding on my large side. The straps adjust fine for me but there is embellishment on the front like on the regular Princess. Because my tissue is brought to the center and the wires are softer I push the gore out so there's not the stabilizing gore tack of the Cabaret which has Panache-style firm wires. The cups begin at my breast tissue, so there's no gapping at the strap. The shape is super round, like if Cleo Marcie Balconnet Bra (6831) was a plunge for people with incredibly short roots.

Comfort: The fabric is soft, no scratchy mesh here. The straps are also soft but a bit stretchy. I have a big problem with Cabaret and 36JJ - Curvy Kate » Bardot Balcony Bra (SG3101) because of the itchy mesh and embroidery. I have no such issues with either the dotted fabric or the soft lace and ribbon top embellishment. This bra is a delight.

Style: The ribbon pulls out a bit on the top so there are loops when I look down. I'm not too bothered by it. I like the Princess so much better in black. I don't really care about the ribbons and bows and everything because I can't see it as much in black. https://d28qt14g3opchh.cloudfront.net/smileys/icon_razz.gif" alt=":P" />

An amazing plunge for very short narrow-to-average roots. I will be ordering it in a cup size larger and seeing how that works for me.

Wow!! Super round: beautiful! Hope your next purchase is perfect!! :-) :-)

    • 1

Ok, after comparing my 38J - Curvy Kate » Cabaret Plunge Bra (CK5111) and the Princess Plunge by laying one over the top of the other, I have come to the conclusion that they are almost exactly the same but the Princess has lower cups, bendier wires, and further in straps. Same narrow wires (could the wires have gotten stretched out in transit?) but because the cups are shorter I feel like I'm gonna spill out and I quad slightly. But wearing the band without an extender makes it feel much more secure. I have updated the measurements and will update the review later today.

What was wrong with me yesterday that I couldn't measure properly? Must have been the heat.

I will be ordering the 40J on Friday so we shall see how that goes.

Very short, projected, slightly narrow, close set, even breasts....

This was an Amazon purchase to help determine my exchange bra for an existing Brastop order. Waiting about a month to return a shipment and the resulting exchange, encouraged me to research the exchange size better than I had the initial order. Thank you, Amazon for your amazing two-day shipment. Wow.

This was the least expensive CK plunge on Amazon. I found the pattern garish and had no desire to own it. Well....I've changed my mind. This pattern is adorable and the colors harmonious in addition to intense. It causes me to smile. Curvy Kate descibes this pattern using ... my favorite color "fuchsia." There is NO fuchsia in this print. However, you will find deep coral, white, and crimson flowers with plum leaves on a minty green background. It is definitely fun and energetic. The shirring along the bottom of the cup is gorgeous and unexpected. This bra is soft, supportive, colorful and comfortable.

However, the very low gore is too wide. Predictable. There is .75" of empty wire channel. So, the wire can be moved away to create an "extra low" gore. Even shifting the wires away from the gore, the gore base remains too wide. But, oh how my center tissue loves the "extra low gore"!! It appears the too wide gore may be causing the quadding. Perhaps a simple alteration will remedy this problem, and all my tissue will comfortably fit inside the cup. I'm hoping!

Despite its 5.8" cup width, it feels too narrow. My tissue is suspended above the wire, and consequently, compressed by what would otherwise be a wide-enough cup. Narrowing the gore may remedy this fit issue, too. https://d28qt14g3opchh.cloudfront.net/smileys/icon_smile.gif" alt=":-)" />

This is my second Curvy Kate Swim purchase. I'm so impressed by the comfort that I've ordered two tankinis, another balconette, and another plunge. These are seriously comfortable bikinis and I wear them as "everyday" bras. Considering they are designed with "extra life" lycra and I hand wash, these may remain viable for ten years https://d28qt14g3opchh.cloudfront.net/smileys/icon_wink.gif" alt=";-)" /> Giggle.

cute story! it almost looks like part of the quadding is due to too wide a gore? idk if pinching it would help any - and i guess in a swimsuit, it would show

    • 1

I think you may be right, dbmamaz :-) A simple gore alteration may dramatically improve this fit. And, because I bought this to wear as an everyday bra, I will try pinching the gore and hope for the best.

    • 1

It's funny because I was just thinking about taking in the gore on my Cabaret to pitch the cups forward for more closeness and room at top. :)

    • 1

i was chicken to try it, but my newest Ewa has lacing for the gore. i actually accidentally untied it and now its unpredictable. But the cups seem deeper when I most the gore in. Too deep. Havent tried it since washing - hoping the lining shrank a little

    • 1

Giggle. I hope it shrinks and you find the right distance and stability for the gore. That sounds miserable. dbmamaz I narrowed and overlapped the gore of a very comfortable bra. Not kidding, I think two of my breast could fit in the top now. Had it not suddenly become comically large, I would have been angry.

    Didn't fit

I dont really know why i bought this bra as i knew it wouldnt fit!!! I dont usually find curvy kate fits and i often have problems with plunge bras. From the pictures i should have known this would be too high at the top for me and there would be excess fabric and puckering. And yet i foolishly ordered it (i guess because i am always searching for a black, simple but attractive non padded bra, and this looked so pretty).

Anyway, of course it didnt fit! It is strange, because i added this bra and my cleo kali at the same time i noticed that their ... measurements are nearly exactly the same and yet the fit completely different.

Firstly the band seems perfect. Nice and firm but not too tight. (As mentioned in my cleo review the back measurements of the two were very similar and yet this feels good and the other too tight).
The wires are perfect for me.

But the cup has lots of wrinkling and excess fabric at the top of the cups, where the straps and cup meet. This happens a lot for me (especially nearly all freya bras).

Sometimes there is quadboob, sometimes not....hmmm i think it is if i smooth myself into it there isnt any quadboob, but then my very close together boobs fall into the centre and the material seems to crease, so there is all this extra fabric folded over, but if it stayed in its proper place there wouldnt be quadboob. (Hope this makes sense. And hopefully it is clearer what i mean in the pictures).

This bra is basically a perfect example of how most bras in my size dont seem to be the right shape or style for my boobs. When in frustración i decide to just buy a 34dd from primark or h&m they seem to be much more the shape i need, although obviosly the backs are big.

As i forgot to return this bra in time i decided to try and alter it. And i am pleasantly surprised with how it turned out! https://d28qt14g3opchh.cloudfront.net/smileys/icon_smile.gif" alt=":)" /> i think i have managed to turn it into the bra that i wish it was, by folding some of the excess fabric from the top into the wire under my arm. And this seems to be fixing the folding of the material near the front too, so that now it sits flat.

I am pleased as this will allow me to keep this beautiful bra. Also, this gives me a bra with a different kind of shape- Ie the bras i normally find to fit are usually padded or cleo bras, both of which seem to have a very round shape. Where as this bra seems to have a more projected shape. I think it is still roundish, but maybe more of a naturalish curve than really round. (To me the shape seems similar to most freya bras).

Another attempt at a plunge bra. Another fail. It's elegant and practical looking. The gore is too wide and the cup separation is too wide, since I'm super close with a lot center fullness. It was comfortable, but I would have fallen out of the center. The cups were too wide too. Gave me a really odd boxy shape.

This one was the cutest one from the batch CK that Ive received today. While I looked at it, I was almost sure that it will fit me. What a big disappointment when I put it on.
The band feels okay on the middle set of hooks, the wings are too short for me - i prefer to have around 9-10cm.
The width of wires is good, and the depth of cups seems okay however my boobs are not reaching the deepest part of cup! its like rounded triangle on me https://d28qt14g3opchh.cloudfront.net/smileys/icon_surprised.gif" alt=":O" />
Straps in CK seems to be good placement on my narrow frame - feels as good as my Comexims with moved in straps *_*
Otherwise, the bra is really beautiful and well made!

Very short, projected, closet set, slightly narrow, even breasts....

This is a gorgeous, saturated, kelly green. My photos cause the color to look more blue. Please know this is more green than the photos display. Cascade is Gia's replacement. I'm quite fond of Gia's laminated satin. Cascade is not as soft. However, the new model retains a geometric lace, supportive band, .7" wide luminous straps, and good immediate projection. Although I thoroughly appreciate this color, I like Gia's satin fabric enough to seek a used 30FF Gia.

If you appreciate bling, Cascade has a multi-faceted charm that refracts light well https://d28qt14g3opchh.cloudfront.net/smileys/icon_smile.gif" alt=":-)" /> The lace across ... the top remains a bit scratchy, like Gia, and may be offensive to those with sensitive skin and/or sensory concerns. However, the lace has an elasticity similar to the lower cup material and is unlikely to present in-cup quadding. Great news for those of us with soft tissue.

This bra is one size too big for me. When I fill the apex, the wrinkles in the bottom of the cup disappear. The band is too long to provide the support I need. I will reorder a 30FF and expect to see a nearly perfect fit. https://d28qt14g3opchh.cloudfront.net/smileys/icon_smile.gif" alt=":-)" />

I love this bra. I will say now that I've been wearing it for a few hours cleaning the house that it is a bit scratchy, but I think when I wash it it will be fine. I have not fallen out of it bending over, going up and down stairs, lifting things, etc. I love the narrow wires and the cool transparent mesh. I do not like the precious pink bows (how are pink bows sexy?) or the embroidery on the top of the cup, but the rest of the bra is very sexy. The gore is low, a real plunge, the ... gore tacks, the wires are pretty close to following my IMF, a smidge high under the armpits, but the cups are pretty close to the height of my short roots. The straps are fully adjustable. They are too wide for me and when I angle them in my larger side quads but when I put them where they should be they are off my shoulders. The back has stretch, but not as much as some (looking at you, Florence). Again, I love this bra and I love all the shirts I had to put away that I will now be able to wear again. Oh, the seams and embroidery are not very visible either. 9/10.

    • Did the fabric soften after washing?

    • cupandahalf This is just in case you have notifications turned off. Insurance ;-)

    • Yes but not enough to make it super comfy. It's still a little scratchier than the Bardot for reference. I'm so sad because it's my best fit besides the straps which I haven't gotten around to fixing yet.

    • Thank you. When you find a comfy CK plunge that fits as well, I'll order it immediately. Atomic looks like it could be softer. I tried Dare and hated the material.

I'm going to try Atomic when it comes out in Plum. I adore mid mod style so I'm kinda excited. Thanks for that about Dare! Will avoid.

Is it not amazing the size difference but shape concerns we share? I've been working on my Curvy Kate blog roundup. I'm kind of having fun being the CK expert ;)

Yes and I'm not full on top, but the short roots characteristic is a better prediction of fit. Thank you for trail blazing :-) :-)

Plum: swooning. There is a melon Atomic for $9.99. Great price, but I'll wait for plum, too.

    Didn't fit

Another bra I snagged during a Zulily sale, and yet another bra that isn't narrow or projected enough for me :') I'm getting closer to a good fit, though. I'm guessing I need around 14cm in width and somewhere upwards of 27cm depth. Hopefully Polish bras will work for me; I'm still waiting for my Comexim order to cross the ocean and fall into my loving arms. I also really want to try more Cleos.

Anyway! On to the bra itself. It's much prettier in person than in pictures. I got the Denim pattern, and the material on the cups is designed to have a faux denim look, but ... the color itself has a slight purplish hue to it. They are also (thankfully) not made out of denim, but a soft, lightly padded foam material that is pretty comfortable. The trim is a cutesy little polka design in purple, blue, and yellow that wasn't readily noticible in the pics on Zulily. It makes the bra feel youthful and summery. At 73cm stretched, the band is a bit loose for me, and has the standard 3 rows of 3 hooks. It's true the cups aren't narrow enough for me, but they're not trying to wrap around my back either (squinting at you, ck princess). It's always hard for me to tell in foam or padded cups, but I think I'm getting a bit of empty space at the bottom. I've definitely got some center quadding, because the bra closes off rather quickly and I have tall, center-full breasts. There's also this strange wrinkling at the center of the left cup, but I'm thinking that's just the result of loose top fabric? The gore tacks at the bottom, but sort of floats at the top. I believe this is due to the wire channels having a good bit of extra space in them. I try to shimmy the wires more into the gore, but it seems like my breasts push them back out towards the wings during wear, haha.

The bra is very comfy for daily wear, even given it's lack of proper fit. My breast tissue is soft-ish and well-behaved, and I don't have particularly sensitive skin, so a majority of fit issues aren't painful or irritating for me. I'm pretty happy with it, all things considered, especially given how cheap it was.

    Didn't fit

I bought this bra from Zulily on a whim, at an extreme discount, and I'm astounded it fits as well as it does! I was worried I'd be quadding everywhere when I figured out the lace wasn't stretch lace, but it's suprisingly not a problem. There's not much immediate depth, however, and I get some pretty obvious wrinkling at the bottom of the cup, so it's not a perfect fit. Ladies who are more FOB may have issues in this bra. The cups are on the narrow side for a CK, which is good for my average/narrowish boobs. The band is stretchy enough that it could pass for ... a tight 30, but the 3 hooks on the back give a good amount of support. I got the White/Melon pattern, so the fun, bright colors with the light, unpadded material make it a really nice summer bra. The most quibble I have with it is a slightly conical shape (personally not my thing), and the fact a few strings had come loose from the seams and had to be snipped when I first put it on.

It is beautiful on you! Looks comfortable :-)

    • 2

It looks great. I'm just wondering if tightening the straps would help any with the shape?

    • 1

Wow! That's a really cute bra and it looks so nice on you. I might have to try this one.

    • Ambie-Australia tightening the doesn't really do anything for the shape for me, just makes the straps feel too tight :)

    • 1

I picked that one up, too! The bottoms are super cute, as well.

    • courtnelius yay for sales! Did you have any luck with it? I didn't get the bottoms (almost never do, because of money), but they sure did look cute :)

    • 2

I actually really like it. I got it in cobalt and then on the next sale I got it in white/pink and picked up the matchies. the shape works pretty well for me and Iove the low gore. So comfy. Mr. Courtnelius is a big fan. He's such an enabler.
