Gorgeous and comfortable bra with narrow enough wires and shallow enough cups. Amazing fit. I would say the fit most closely resembles that of the Curvy Kate Princess, but it is also sized the same as the Gia and the Dreamcatcher. The Gia and the Dreamcatcher have somewhat more projected cups than the Portia, however. The Portia would work well on full-on-top or wide-shouldered women. It also works well on me, since I have quite a bit of pectoral muscle. It gives a nice shape under tops, though the ribbon sometimes shows. I also would say that the wire is low under the arms, which is nice for me-- no poking. The only drawback is, like the Dreamcatcher, the fabric is a bit stiff and scratchy at first.
This bra is gorgeous. It's super-soft and doesn't both my sensitive skin at all. I would warn that the wire sits weird in this one's gore.
Backwards & Upsidedown: Seems a bit snug, but otherwise fine.Moves 2/3 fingers from chest.
Wires: Wires extend past breast tissue on side. They may be slightly too short, but short-term wear isn't painful (haven't tried long-term wear).
Gore: Top .25 inches of gore is floating very slightly where the wires are. May be sitting slightly on breast tissue, but seems to be floating above it instead. Height is fine.
Cups: Slight quad-boob on one side, other cup is fine, with slight gapping. Wires like to sit ...about the width of a fingertip below my inframmary fold. When I adjust them to the IF, the band below the gore digs in painfully after a few minutes.
Straps: Strap location is fine and they are 100% adjustable. Band appears to be parallel.
Comfort: After short-term wear (10-15 minutes?) bra feels ok. Band feels tight, wires are poking slightly (probably a tad too short). I like the shape it gives me. I do have slight back pain, but I had that before I put this on. I suspect it is because I am unused to a tight band. Read more 97 more words
I was advised to get a cup size bigger than I usually wear, but I think a 32F would have fit wonderfully. As is, there is a slight amount of wrinkling on top and on bottom. My only actual concern is that the straps are a bit wide, but wearing the right size may solve it.
Also, though I feel this would fit comfortably in the right size, scooping and swooping sets my nipples higher than the opaque fabric and fully into the mesh. I wouldn't mind, but it may be a problem for some people.
The Gia is an awesome everyday bra-- I have 5 of them in this size and they basically WERE the rotation for about 6 months-- those and some Claudette Dessous and a couple of Cleos.
The only thing I'd say is that this bra is made for a very round, projected breast type, so when it first gets too big, it gets too big for me above the nipple or right under the straps. I wouldn't say it's particularly open on top, but I could see it giving an upside down seven shape in larger sizes.
Note that the band on the Gia is firmer than the bands on the Princess, Dreamcatcher, or Portia.
Curvy Kate makes nice padded bras that fit my close together boobs. This one has great narrow and low (plunge) separation. However, this 30E is about a half size too small in the band and cups. It is also a bit pointier in the cups than I prefer. Due to the thick padding, I'm wondering if the tips of the cups are empty from the pointiness! Also, these straps don't adjust long enough (by a little). If you have problems with straps, watch out. I should probably just go back to the Curvy Kate Daily Boost, as that one didn't have the pointy shape or slightly undersized 30E.
So for my own education, because I have a lot of trouble telling by the look if something fits.
Is the straps not shorting enough what causes the gap at the top of the cup? Because if it was an unlined bra I'd say the cups are too big. Lined cups confuse me though, when I look at them the indicators of fit seem different then unlined.
Beautiful colour... Currently waiting to get it from Brastop while hoping it won´t be too small...
Update - it's perfect! Absolutely gorgeous and comfy. At first I couldn't fasten the band, but a few minuts later it was stretched enough. I wear it with adjustable straps on, since it feels more supportive that way and I also prefer the shape. You can use one strap to make a halter version of the swimwear. Paired with a high waist brief, UK size 10, which fits my 37/38 inches hips well.
Haven't good the time to go swimming yet, (neither the weather seems friendly) so there is going to be another update quite soon - let's hope so!
Lovely piece of bedroom lingerie. The lower part is actually a bit less flowy than I thought, it creates folds.
The cups are sheer, which can be a bit uncomfortable. While putting the babydoll on, your breast might hurt, since the sheer material is not soft, but once you put it on, it´s fine. The cups seem slightly larger than other Curvy Kate bras I own, but not enough to make me consider sizing down.
This bra is brand new i only tried it on. I however cant return it because i purchased it on zulily. Im cant put my finger on it but it just doesnt work for me.
This bra isn't the best fit for me, but I think it's more of a shape mismatch than a size mismatch. I just received two 30GG Smoothies in the mail in black and blush, as well as a 28GG Smoothie Prowl in cranberry. Pros are that this bra is definitely gorgeous, I love the subtle leopard print that is cute, but doesn't show under clothes. Straps are fully adjustable, but a little bit more "slick" feeling than, say, Freya straps, so I wonder if they will loosen more easily throughout the day. Time will tell. The molding is thinner and more malleable than the molding in the Deco. ...This bra also gives good cleavage from the front-a subtle, softly rounded look.
As for the fit, there are definitely some issues. I can't fill the apex and the bottom of the cups, but with any slight movement I quadboob ever so slightly over the top. I'm definitely very FOT and I guess I'm less projected than I thought, so I think the issue with this bra is that the cups are too deep for my breasts and not open enough on the top. I don't think this is an issue with the cups being too big, because my 28GG Smoothie has the same issues and more quadboob. I could go up a cup size to eliminate the quadboob, but then the apex of the cup would be even deeper and I wouldn't be able to fill it. I think that if the apex of this cup was pulled in, this would be a much better fit and look more flattering under clothes.
The wires are a good length, very long but not quite verging into back territory, which I like but be aware if you prefer narrower wires. The sides of the cup near the strap are too tall and cut into my armpits-not unbearable, but uncomfortable. Additionally, the bra gives a more projected, "natural" look under clothes for me; maybe because I can't fill the apex of the cup, or maybe simply because of the shape of the bra, but it does translate to me as a little more "pointy" than I prefer.
Overall, this bra would be great for FOB, projected ladies but for FOT ladies like myself, the Freya Deco or similar is a better fit as far as molded bras go. I'll probably still wear this bra and hope that the molding breaks in and forms to my breast shape a little better over time. Read more 309 more words
hi i want to ask you did you try 30G i have big issues with this bra i like it very much i dont know what i do i have my pics up to see if you can tell me your opion
I got the babydoll for the bra mainly. If I didn't like the babydoll part, I planned on removing it. I love this babydoll and it will remain intact! I tried the bra (not babydoll) in 28DD and it was way too small. Given that, I am surprised that one cup size up and I'm juuuust filling the cups. The cups do fit, but it's close to gaping on me in the center. However, I think this is largely due to the straps being in my armpits, because I have to angle them in so much, it causes more space in the center of the cups than is ...meant to be. The gore comes up higher than I need and it pokes me in the sternum. It's not painful, but it is uncomfortable. The cups seem a little bit shallow at the bottom. I need projection, so there is some empty cup at the very bottom, but I fill out the rest well, it isn't noticeable or uncomfortable. This bra gives amazing cleavage! It's very sexy and my husband thought it was something only for the bedroom, but no I'll be wearing this out under dresses https://d28qt14g3opchh.cloudfront.net/smileys/icon_smile.gif" alt=":)" />
Another issue is the band being too loose. My swoop and scoop is escaping a little bit due to a too loose a band. Even on the tightest hook this band is too big as it is a stretchy material. Other reviews were saying this band runs small, but not in this case. Maybe in this size range it is different. I would say the band is true to size but with a lot of stretch, so feels bigger. With the straps moved inwards and the band reduced, I suspect this bra will be a near perfect fit. It still fits well enough, and was a good enough price, to keep without alterations, so I'm keeping it. I will get around to altering it one of these days.
I got it in black/blush. The bow and charm at the center are crudely sewn on. I'm going to have to re-sew it (the back of the charm faces outwards), or I may just remove it all together. The bra I tried on in 28DD, which didn't fit was in the ruby/spice colorway. I prefer that so much more over this. The blush is still beautiful but the spice is really something special. If one comes along for the right price I will grab it, in either the bra or babydoll. Being a 26 band doesn't give many options, and I was hoping the band would run tight on the babydoll. I found that it does not run tight, but I like this babydoll well enough to keep anyway. Read more 358 more words
First off, this bra is very pretty. It is light pink (I believe "blush" is the given name) with a black lace overlay and little pink bows. Oh how I wish it worked with my shape! Overall I'd say it runs about true to size. The cup volume may have been a little big for me, but given all of the shape mismatches I had its hard to tell. I did not look into this bra before buying it, and basically every aspect of it is the opposite of what I would need. The wires are about average width for a bra this size, which does not mesh with my extremely narrow roots. The cups are also pretty shallow, which doesn't work with my projected shape. The cups are also way too tall for me. This is one of those cases where I got lured in by the appearance and didn't do my research. This bra would work well for someone with tall roots with an average width, and minimal projection.
This bra was extremely pleasantly surprising. Narrower wires and cut-and-sew cup construction, which accomodates more projection than the vast majority of UK padded bras I've tried. The shape is *perfectly* round with gentle cleavage... very flattering under fitted clothing. I wouldn't mind if the little purple bows, just like those on the CK Bardot, happen to peak out from beneath a tank top, they're a lovely detail https://d28qt14g3opchh.cloudfront.net/smileys/icon_smile.gif" alt=":)" /> I appreciate the unusual combination of the purple ribbons with the casual denim fabric, however I have to say the pastel polka-dot fabric is kind of juvenile and cheap-looking if you look at it up close. Oh well, it's still very cute as a whole, and the matching panty makes for an adorable and aesthetically presentable set, even though this bra is so incredibly soft it's been designated as my instant go-to "comfort" bra for long days. If you are considering this model, also look into CK's new Daily Dream as they're supposedly the same cut. I'm thrilled with this one!
I have narrow, projected breasts (particularly centre projection) and I find that going up a cup size in Curvy Kate (at least in the new styles, with more consistent sizing) produces really good fit. The wires aren't particularly wide... The cup fabric is very firm, but also quite soft and delicate looking. The shape is very nice and uplifted but it doesn't produce a ton of cleavage. Bras with cups that fit rarely do... I don't love the pink accents. I may remove the (IMO oversized) hot pink bows, but there's no getting rid of the pink that embroidered into the upper cup lace. The lace is quite ...unusual - a bit eyelashy at the top of the upper cup and it appears to be appliqued. The upper cup is taped at the top (on the underside of the lace) which produces a firmer fit (might be useful to those with soft breast tissue). I hope they do this bra in a different colourway. I'll certainly try it and I bet I'll get a lot of use out of this almost-black bra. Read more 74 more words
Previously when I have tried Curvy Kate bras I found them not to be a good fit as they were too wide and shallow. The Madagascar is a much better fit and gives a nice shape under clothing. The gore is slightly lower than the Panache bras I fit into best (Jasmine and Envy) so is useful for tops that are cut a bit lower. I do have some Cleo bras that I like for the rounded shape and lower gores but they are a little small in the cup as they only go up to a J and I prefer 3 hooks instead of 2. I am projected with average to narrow width short roots and find that the Madagascar is a good match for my shape.
Bought this bra and only wore it to try it on. This is a very nice basic bra the size is just way too small for me it was so small my breast looked extremely squished and separated! Can't really say about the fit because since it was super small for me it was super uncomfortable.
I was just so surprised by this bra! The wires are much narrower than any other CK I've tried and the wings and cups are lower, too. The 32H is actually pretty true to size, if a touch long in the band. When I first got it, I found it very comfortable, but I've gained a few pounds and now have noticeable quadraboob on my larger side and the edges of the band cut in after a few hours. It's possible that sizing up to a 34H would fix things, but I fear that the wires would then be too wide. The seams are nice ...and flat so there's no lumpiness under clothing and the beige is a good-enough nude for my light skin. The shape is excellent. The subtle patterns on the band and the sides notch up the pretty factor without ruining it for tshirt use. There is a bit of flattening on the bra at the bottom of the cups because it's a little shallower than I am, and the wires are still wider than I need, but it totally works. It appears to be well-constructed of sturdy materials. Read more 87 more words
Oh how I wish this bra were compatible to my boobies. It's just far too narrow and wide. Fairly no projection. I did buy this bra knowing it would not fit but I still wanted to give it a try. But golly, I love all the black lace the dangling rhinestone in the center gore. The small lace detail by the hooks. But alas it's not for me. The gore did not tack. The band was comfortably tight, I think it was a small 32 more like a 30 But what do I know, I've never tried a 30 band.. Omg the best part, was the straps they adjusted the whole way. Why can't all bras just have that type of straps?

Is the straps not shorting enough what causes the gap at the top of the cup? Because if it was an unlined bra I'd say the cups are too big.
