I love the design of this bra, but sadly it really doesn't fit me any more. The band is far too stretchy and I would need more like a 24, although this does make it comfy to wear. The cups are far too small and give me a square shape at the front. I would need to go up another 2 cup sizes and then the shape would be nice and rounded.
The straps are placed too far apart and dig into my shoulders, and there was also poking from the wires in the centre the first few times a wore it. After a couple of washes this eased ...up. The cups are lined with a cottony fabric which is nice and soft against your skin. The outer fabric shows under very tight clothing, but it's nowhere near as bad as the Thrill Me.
As other reviewers have mentioned, the sizing seems to vary a lot between colours. I also bought the green version (this one is purple) and it fit very differently - the centre wires came up higher and there was gaping along the top of one of the cups. This is definitely a difficult bra to get the right fit with, but once you do, it is very comfy and the cleavage is very sexy. Read more 108 more words
I thought I should get this bra simply because I thought it would benefit me. But, unfortunately, because of the natural shape of my breasts, they are too far out, and the band doesn't support them nearly enough for them to look 'good'. It made them look odd and pointy. I mean, I guess some women could like that type, but I personally don't. I feel like it takes away from the attractiveness of my breasts. But other than the cup, I think it fit really well. The only other problem was the straps were digging into my arms and it was too uncomfortable. I think I'll stick to the molded cups from now on.
If you are close-set/full in the middle like me, this bra may be a little much. At least for everyday wear...my hubby would be very upset if I sent it back! The detailing on this bra is incredible. There is black mesh with embroidery layered over a satin cup (a pale gold color satin in this case), and the little buttons on the center gore match the satin. The materials are very soft and luxurious, and the cups cotton-lined. The bra is surprisingly comfortable. I have just a bit of quadraboob, as it is SO plunging, but showgirl cleavage as well. I would probably benefit from something like a 28K, but that doesn't exist in this range.
Pros: this bra is beautifully designed, and surprisingly soft and comfortable to wear. The powermesh band conforms snugly to the body without digging in, and the cups are lined in soft material. It gives uplift and a supported, rounded shape.
Unfortunately, the bra is too wide-set for me, though I can still wear it. The straps are too wide for my shoulders by about two inches - they are literally almost as wide as my shoulders themselves, and I don't have small or narrow shoulders. This creates some empty space at the upper, outer edges of the cup. They also dig in to my underarm.
The sides of the cup, just before the wires, also have some empty space, even though the bra cuts into my breast tissue in the center and creates some of the dreaded quadraboob. The wires are for wider, shallower breasts.
In short, the bra is attractive, wearable and mostly comfortable, but not a good match for my body type.
This bra did not fit at all. I bought it when I was still working out my bra size, so the band is too big, but it is also very large for a 30. The band is very stretchy and I'd recommend sizing down if you can. The cups were also too small and I had to size up two cups to get the right fit.
It's a difficult bra to find the right fit in, but it's worth persevering as it is very comfortable in the right size. The cups are quite shallow, as I typically find in Curvy Kate bras and this results in a minimised profile.
See my 28GG review for what I thought in of the correct size.
The 28ff in this style was a bit too small so I tried the 28g - but that isn't quite right either. Very good bra - just not right for me. Even in the 28g the cups are cutting just a little bit at the bottom where the cups meet, but the top of the cup (near the straps) is a little empty and the bra is really high under my arms which is a bit uncomfortable. I also felt like in the 28g it wasn't giving a good shape because my breasts seemed a bit too low, i.e. to get my breasts sitting high enough I had to tighten the straps heaps, which made the bra even higher under my arms. Pitty this wasn't right as I really like the style.
All i really need to say about this bra is... THE COLOUR The contrasting bluey-green detail against the purple is just too fabulous to describe into words, so all i will say on the matter is *gasp*.
The fit compliments my top heavy boobs, without giving any ridiculous cleavage (as a balconette should not do in my opinion) It is extremely comfortable in the bust area, apart from a slight issue with cup coming up rather high against my armpit.
The band is tight, perhaps too tight, however i have a thrill me in a 30H and from the day it arrived i have had to wear it ...on the tightest hooks so i figured a 28 band will last longer even if it is a bit uncomfortable at first.
In my opinion, it's worth buying a "possibly-too-tight-but-will-stretch-to-accomodate-me" band rather than settling for a comfortable but may end up being too slack band. That aside, if you have the kind of stubborn firm boobs that don't like to move with a bra then this is perfect! Oh and did i mention the COLOUR? Read more 75 more words
The 30K was way too small on me in both the band and the cup. The band was uncomfortably tight and stretched the cups so they seemed wider than they actually were. They ended up going right under my arms and almost to my back! Not good.
I definitely prefer narrow but deep cups and I am afraid Curvy Kate bras are not like this. They have wider cups which are on the shallow side (but not overly so), which makes me sad as the designs are so beautiful.
The cups did not poke or chafe, despite being so small on me.
This fits...fine. I like the tight band because it allows for stretching! The gore is high, to which my sternum is unaccustomed, but this is very flattering to my bottom-heavy breasts. I feel very secure and supported in this bra.
My two issues: * The wires stretch if I put the band on the middle hook. Not cool! They then grind against my ribs and are very uncomfortable. Bending them like the tutorial on Bras I Hate helped, but I have to repeat this occasionally. * The fabric is a little itchy, but two rinses with diluted vinegar helped. Also, for future note, do not use Eucalan to wash bras if you have prissy princess boob skin like I do. It's fine for my knitted objects, but not my bras.
In summary it is a lovely bra but sadly it was not a good fit for me in band or cup in the sizes I tried. I am hoping to try other sizes though as I think my correct fit is still out there somewhere!
It's a very pretty style with polka dot cups (the dots have a velvety feel to them which is very tactile) and the lower half of the cups is double lined for extra support.
The cups were too wide for me - my preference is definitely for a narrower but deeper cup.
The central gore laid flat on me and the underwires did not poke at all.
Overall a very comfortable bra despite being the wrong size.
I have heard the white version runs large in the cup and band. I usually wear a 32G, and followed the advice I get on Curvy Kate's molded bras- band size down, cup size up. The band was still a generous fit, and the cup was pretty generous too- I may have been able to go down a cup, sometimes it is difficult to tell with half-cup bras. In either case, it gave me lovely uplifted round shape.
Looks and practicality- The satin looked lovely, and the colorway rich, but the ruffles looked silly on me (I'd been apprehensive but thought I would give it a shot). Moderate cleavage for me, thanks to the lift. However, I generally wear close-fitting tops and the ruffles showed bumps under pretty much all of them.
This bra is not for most ladies in summer. If you often wear sweaters or thick tops, however, it will give you an amazing shape and look fun as well!
Love this bra - a bit sexier than some other D+ styles and very comfortable, but I definitely needed to go down to a DD. Sadly, the padded balconette style doesn't work well for me and the top of the bra doesn't sit flush with my boobs (which are fuller at the sides, not the top). I had a bit of luck by shortening the straps loads, but even even then the cups look a bit big even if there doesn't feel like loads of excess room.
The band looks small but actually has loads of stretch - the 34 was plenty big enough and felt very comfy.
Worth mentioning the frilled shorts that match this are beautiful - the set's got a bit of a burlesque feel and is really flattering on an hourglass figure.
Comes up a little small in the cup, the band is fairly true to size with quite a lot of give over time. The fit is nice and natural, though has a slight tendency towards 'pointy boob' - this isn't a big issue for me because of my body shape but on bigger busts it may be worth considering.
The central gore begins to dig in a little bit after a full day's wear, but I've yet to find many bras that don't give me some discomfort here at some point. It was minimal, and overall the fit was very good.
Fabric is comfy and the design is pretty for day without being too OTT. It has quite a textured finish though, so not great under fitted tops.
Bought this bra because of a dress in the same color and upon checking this faboulous site. But I keep reaching for it since it is comfortable and gives a very nice shape. Simple but not annoying, it stays in place even when moving a lot! The fabric is soft and thin but supporting (double layer on bottom) And I like SO MUCH the criss cross motive....I give excellent for the look because the overall look when I wear it is very nice.
This bra is comfortable and well made, even though it is too small in the cup for me. The cups are lightly padded. It gives me an amazing cleavage, partly presumably because it is too small in the cups for me.
The underwire is a little high in the centre, not a problem for me, but it may be for some.
The straps appear to be set quite far apart, again not an issue for me, but may be for some.
If this came in 28K I'm sure it would be perfect for me.
I´m really happy for my Curvy Cate bras so far! This bra has a very nice color, actually the reason for buying it. I have once tried the black one, but didn´t buy it, because it was a 32E, as I usually use, but in this style to small in the cups and to big in the band. This style is a balconette and therefore, like the “Tease me” bra, you don´t get the cleavage, but more a lift. So like my other Curvy Cate bra, go up a cupsize, and down a bandsize. But amazing color, it´s even prettier in real!”
The band is stretchy stuff! I was pleasantly surprised at the support it offered, especially for a half-cup bra. It's also very pretty and the straps are wonderfully adjustable. I'd say going a size down in band is necessary.
The foam cups give amazing shape- everything up, front and center. The fabric is a bit itchy, and the wires tends to squeak when I move (manufacturing error, I think, and may be fixable after several washes).
However, I can't wear this under almost any shirt, the ribbon shows through and causes lumps. I suppose it's for winter layers.
This bra is a very good fit for me. The band feels slightly tighter than the average 28 with less stretch, but for me it is comfortably snug. The cup fit is good, enclosing all my breast tissue, and under clothing it creates a nice rounded shape.
The straps are fully adjustable and the band fastens with three hooks. The straps sit well and don't dig in. I often find straps are too wide-set for my narrow shoulders but this is not the case with this bra.
I find the underwires dig in slightly at the centre, probably on account of the snug fit of the band, and I often get this with new bras but find they ease up after washing. I can't comment on any post-washing changes in this as I eventually decided to return it. I was very happy with the fit and shape but unfortunately I found the pattern a bit fussy for my taste.
I like the wires on this bra, because they are relatively low and do not poke into the armpits as much as Panache bras do. Unfortunately the wires are also less stable and tend to get bent out of shape under stress from the band. I also found the band to be to stretchy for me. This seems to be a general problem with Curvy Kate.
Another problem i have with Curvy Kate is that the cupshape of their bras does not agree with my breastshape. I tried a large variety of CKs in all kinds of sizes and my breasts always either had a funny droopy shape or the lace of the cup was fluttering around.
