After a short time wearing I can say a few things about this bra. 1. The wires are way too wide. It goes around to almost my back, way past the center of the area under my arm. 2. The depth of the cup is perfect 3. The straps are way to widely placed, they dig into the soft tissue at the armpit joint area. I'll have to alter them for a better fit. I'll make the under arm whole a touch wider at the same time. 4. The wires need to be bent to curve around a body. I'm pretty sure ribcages are not flat across the front, but the wires are. There is no gentle curve that would make it fit around a body.
Appearance wise the bra is OK. Not as lifted as I'd like. Because of the wire and underarm/strap issues I'd rate this much lower on the comfort. Once altered and adjusted it will probably be a much better bra.
Very pretty bra, but the band is too loose on me. I have to wear it on the tightest setting or else it rides up and puts the center gore in an awkward position.
This bra is too small for me, so I can't comment on fit, but I did make some general observations when trying it on.
The centre gore poked me in the chest quite badly. The underwires are quite thick, as is the case with most Curvy Kate bras, and for this reason it does not work for me. My boobs are very close together in the centre and this leaves the wires sitting on my breast tissue. There is a design on the straps which makes them only part adjustable, but if really necessary you could force the rest of the strap through the adjuster. The band fit me well ...and if anything, it is a little on the small side. However, I have the black version of this bra and black bras in general are known to run a little smaller. The shape it gives is OK, quite rounded but not particularly lifted. The ribbon at the top is likely to cut in if you have full on top boobs. The polka dot design is slightly raised and is very pretty. It's a simple touch which makes a basic black bra a little more exciting. I don't really like unpadded bras, but I can see the appeal of this one as a simple, pretty everyday style which gives a fairly natural shape.
It fits great on my left (larger) boob. If I were going to keep this bra I'd need a cutlet to fill the right cup. The band is acceptable, it doesn't ride up, but I prefer a slightly tighter band.
However, I can't wear this bra. The wires dig quite painfully into my sternum and underarms. The wire doesn't seem to come unusually high in either place. It just seems like it's maybe lacking padding and the wires are shaped oddly. I tried bending them outwards but it didn't fix the problem even though the wires are now ...noticeably bent. They still poke painfully.
The wires poking is so bad that even after just wearing it for less than half an hour to test the fit, move around, and take some pictures, 12 hours later my sternum has a sore spot and my underarms are tender.
I am really sad that I can't wear it. It's so pretty and otherwise fits pretty well. But the pain makes it completely unwearable. If anyone knows how I can fix that, I'd appreciate if you dropped me a note. Remember I already tried bending so I'm not sure I can do much more. Read more 109 more words
This bra is so small that there is no room for everything to 'stay in'. I know this bra is from the 'Showgirl' range, but this is taking it a bit too far =P!
There is not much depth in the cups which seems to push everything back towards you, creating a sort of minimising effect. It would be good in a better fitting cup size I guess, pushing everything up rather than in all directions quadraboob/nipples showing/armpit fat.
I shall be sending this baby back from the on-line retailer. I absolutely hate bra shopping, so that's why I've ordered on-line.
Lovely bra and I really like the look of it! I would advice to go down a band size and at least one cupsize up. I bought it in 30FF (I am between 30 F/FF) and still it is a little bit to small in the cups. Though I love the look, think Antoinette-cleavage, it isnĀ“t the best bra for me. The cups are little bit too seperated, and is a little uncomfortable. In comparison I also own theThrill Me bra in 30FF, and it suits me way better. Actually I gave this to one of my friends who were a cupsize smaller than me, because I never used it, but soon I want to try it in a 30G, because I really want it to work!
Wine/navy: Even though my underbust circumference shrank and I now have to do my grape/jade version of this bra up on the tightest hook, I still wanted another while it was going cheap. I really like this bra! It's pretty, it's comfortable, and it goes surprisingly well under a lot of things despite the frills. This bra has truly bizarre sizing. I feel like I could go up another cup size, although I won't because this current one doesn't give me too much trouble.
Grape/black: So far, this seems like a really comfortable everyday bra - I can see why everyone raves about the Emily. It's so soft and the shape is very natural. At the same time, it looks really lovely (especially with the matching shorts).
Update: Due to my measurements changing, my breasts fall towards the middle giving me quadboob while leaving empty space at the top of the cup. I determined part of the reason is that the band was too big for me. I have now sewn the central gore together which has fixed the problems by orienting the cups differently and making the band tighter. Not sure if it retains the same level of comfort as before.
I love this bra! It is so soft and pretty, as well as comfortable. At first the wires poked into my sternum but I bent it a little and now it feels perfect. My only problem was that the straps aren't fully adjustable and I really needed them to be to get proper lift. Luckily, although it isn't ideal, you can push the lace through the straps. This is probably my new favorite bra!
Perfect. After returning the 30J and getting the 28J instead, I've had no problems with it. It's comfortable and fits in just about every way I could want it to. I rotate through all three of my Showgirl Collection bras, and this one is definitely my second favorite. I really don't have anything bad to say about it.
I will write a review of this bra for my blog in due course but for now here is a brief summary.
I LOVE this bra - it is so simple and pretty. I was longing for it to work for me.
The top half of the cups are made from a sheer fabric with an embroidered edge which is very sexy. The candy pink bows and stitching are a girlie contrast to the elegant black and bring a bit of fun to the bra. The fabrics used are of high quality and feel wonderfully soft but durable.
The band is reasonably firm and the section between the ...cups is not stretchy.
The straps are narrower than some large cupped bras which makes a nice change. They are fully adjustable and have circular rings attaching them to the bra's band. There are three rows of three hooks and eyes.
Sadly it was no good for me in 32K as it was still too small in the cups and cut into my upper breast tissue. Interestingly, however, the cups were too wide, meaning that yet again I had found a bra which was too shallow for me. Read more 89 more words
Well, this one is better for me than the Princess or the Emily, but it still doesn't work. It is a bit more supportive because the lower section of the cup is a nice firm satin material, and this is a larger amount of the cup than the lace part. Also the seam runs diagonally from low in the middle to high on the sides (just inside the strap attachment point) so it doesn't have the "square" effect that the Princess and especially the Emily did.
The cups seem a little wider than on the others too. The band is made of fairly stretchy mesh and is not ...very supportive. It is quite comfortable for a fancy bra that doesn't really fit me, though! https://d28qt14g3opchh.cloudfront.net/smileys/icon_wink.gif" alt=";-)" /> Other than the fact that the straps are too narrow and dig in, that is.
Overall, Curvy Kate bras will be best for those with fairly perky boobs who don't need a lot of lift. And they don't really work well in the upper end of the size range. Again, it's possible that if I could get this in like a 32L or so it would fit better, but that's less clear than with the Princess.
I like the pink stitching on the black part, it would be nice if there was some pink in the lace cup edging too. Read more 120 more words
Grape/jade: I'm soooo glad I tried to find the right size. I first had the azure/plum in 30FF and it was completely wrong. Just looking at the pictures I took of both, you can see a massive difference in shape. The cups are really nice and soft, and the design is so pretty. I was afraid that I might not get the signature cleavage of the Thrill Me in this size, but I tried on a low-cut t-shirt and it wasn't the case at all. Well, as much as I can ever achieve cleavage, anyway. It's surprisingly comfortable for something that looks so glamorous.
Oddly enough, I fit into both the 28H and the 28HH in this style, the only difference is that I feel more supported in the larger size. Apparently this is because the bra is very open on top, and I have full-on.top boobage.
I'm quite a fan of the shape it gives the breasts, both from the front and from the side. It also gives much more support than the other Curvy Kate model I tried, the Criss Cross, though compared to my other bras, even this support is not that great. There's a lot of bounce when I wear the Ella :/
I love the blue/orange color combo, though. Great under low-cut blue tops!
This bra almost made me cry! In the end, though, I just sighed and went to tick the "high nipples" box here in the Bratabase measurements section. Because, as beautiful as this piece of lingerie is, my nips happen to sit smack in the middle of the sheer bit - SO not sexy https://d28qt14g3opchh.cloudfront.net/smileys/icon_sad.gif" alt=":(" /> And the way it interferes with the shape from the side, is just... ugh! *shudder*
It was all the more frustrating as this was otherwise the best-fitting bra I have ever tried on (hah! finally found my size, it seems). No quadboob at all, even after walking around, comfortable ...band and straps, and the fabric is soft and silky to the touch, even though it has a somewhat plastic feel to it (it also reflects the light in a really weird way).
The support and shape are not that great, even though it fit in the cup. I got a somewhat square-ish shape from the side with the three Curvy Kate bras I have tried on and this one was no exception; what more, the breast drooped towards the ground. In the end, it was this very unflattering look that finally persuaded me to send the bra back.
All in all, this model apparently doesn't work for me. I think I'm going to give the Criss Cross a wide berth from now on. Read more 122 more words
The 32K was too small on me in both the band and the cup, but not overly so. The band was fairly tight but wearable - my main issue was the fact that the tight-ish band stretched the cups so they seemed wider than they actually were. They ended up going right under my arms and almost to my back! Not good.
I definitely prefer narrow but deep cups and I am afraid Curvy Kate bras are not like this. They have wider cups which are on the shallow side (but not overly so), which makes me sad as the designs are so beautiful.
The cups did not poke or chafe, despite being so small on me.

Firstly - if you're not comfortable with the idea of showing off your assets, forget about this bra, unless you are one of these girls who like to wear sexy lingerie under demure outerwear!
As someone who has only recently developed into Curvy Kate territory, after years of hding my chest I'm just beginning to get used to the idea of displaying my curves, I'm going to have to buy a few more low cut tops to boost my confidence levels.
This bra gives me an amazing shape. My boobs look amazingly plump but well supported in this bra - usually the term 'plump' is regarded as derogatory, and I've ...never ever been described as 'plump' before, but in this context I'm loving it. I've heard the term 'cakes on a plate' used in reference to the decolletage on Showgirl bras - this is a very apt description. I find this bra very comfortable - it doesn't dig in anywhere, and the band is nicely tight round my chest. There is some light padding, but it doesn't add to the bulk and actually helps give a nice shape. Many of my friends with big boobs won't touch any sort of padding at all in the mistaken belief that they don't need padding - they should try this.
In short, I love this bra, gives me the WOW factor! Read more 117 more words
I can't quite believe I'm typing this. I only tried 28GG because 28G was not available, but quite simply it's inadequate for my rapidly expanding bosom. The bra gives me a decolletage that borders on the indecent, and as my nipples are quite high on my breasts, it barely covers my aureolae. I also have a case of quadraboob in this size, so I've had to go up to 28H, as it's seriously uncomfortable to wear - the wires dig in both sides of both boobs.
Does a 28 band normally fit you?
