Pros: pretty design, the little macrame pendant on the gore Cons: Extremely tight band and cups that are not true to size, in my opinion this has measurements of a 28GG.
It totally fits!! I've been really struggling to find a bra that fit my tall roots, and that gave more lift than the unlined bras I tried in the past. This gives such a nice lifted shape (unusual, considering my boobs seem a little higher set on my chest than others). Also, the wires stay in place, right where they are supposed to be. I'm smitten, as the band is the optimal amount of stretchyness (though my love for this might be because of the 3 hook closure than anything else). Finally, there is no gapping at the top.
It gives a bit of a pointier shape, which is the only slight negative I see with this bra. I really don't mind though, because it isn't too extreme!
I always had issues with CK's fit; cups too wide and too shallow, shoulder straps too far apart, almost no immediate projection... One of my first (post-bravangelization) bras was an unlined 30FF Curvy Kate, which I did like, oblivious to some of the previously mentioned fit issues. Once I grew out of it and started wearing 30G-GG's, CK's were my yearning-for-but-won't-ever-fit brand. Now that I've lost weight, and since I heard they tweaked the fit of their bras to make them narrower (yay!), I decided to give them a shot again with my beloved Portia in white.
Unfortunately, the fit is as off as always. I've heard different things ...about the changes, that the unlined bras are not very different from the old ones, and since this is a continuity colourway, I don't know if it's a pre- or post-fit overhaul bra. The wires are still flimsy and too wide, there's quite a bit of loose fabric both at the sides and top *and* bottom of the cup, the shape is very upside-down seven, and the elastic and decorative pink ribbon at the top of the cups are on the verge of cutting in (while the mesh fabric is wrinkling!) The straps also come out in my armpits and will probably chafe the skin.
However, it's so pretty (the embroideries! The ribbons and bows! The cute and yet elegant style! And I normally hate white). I've owned several Portias in various sizes, with plans of altering, but I've never come around to it. I quickly bent the wires of this one narrower to follow the shape of my ribcage, and it certainly sits/feels better now. I may also move the straps in just a little, if I keep it. (So pretty!) I got this bra from another user NWT. Based on measurements, this bra should fit, but I have mild to moderate quad-boob depending on the time of month. That in itself is not a deal-breaker because the mild times are pretty mild, but I do have some orange in a glass at the bottom, too, which caused some bending in the foam under my breast the one time I did wear it, causing the cups to tip forward and the underwire so to dig into my ribs. Either I need a 30G or this bra is not for me.
I am majorly spilling out of this bra, which may be why I love the "shape" it gives my breasts. I don't think the moulded cup is working for me, as my breast never fills the bottom bit of the cup and I end up with a fold/crease.
This is an almost perfect bra for me, and it's so close that it is frustrating! The center gore is just too high. The underwires are slightly poking into my breast tissue. I may have to let this one go https://d28qt14g3opchh.cloudfront.net/smileys/icon_sad.gif" alt=":(" />
I felt like I got torpedo boob in this bra, which is a personal preference thing. I also wasn't in love with the black and pink color combo. My friend described it at "bondage with bows."
I tried the 30F first and it was painful to wear. At first try-on this one feels much better. There's room to pull everything in and it gives good cleavage. There's a tiny bit of empty space under my left boob but it's whatever. The back feels very firm and supportive.
Love this bra. However if your measurements are similar to mine on my profile, size down in the band and up in the cup to a 28G. I went for 30FF as it was $25 cheaper on amazon when i bought it, haha. Other than the band, fits like a dream!
I am a fan of the 30FF - Curvy Kate » Emily (CK5001) bra in general because it provides good support as well as good shape and it fits me well. However, I did learn that I generally have to go up a size in Curvy Kate because I find that I am spilling out of the cups of this bra a bit. In the right size this is a great bra, but be aware that the lace and stitching detail means it cannot be worn under all clothing.
I loved the design, but the cups are designed for a dramatic uplift and are therefore very steep (shallow bottom section). The deepest point is around the lace trim - not suitable for my projected bust.
This is my favorite Curvy Kate bra. The pink tone in the nude colorway is beautiful and the pattern and materials are so luxurious. The wide band is super supportive and smooths very well.
Generally CK bras give me a bad shape, but the Gia just gives me a toned down look for when I wanted to look modest in my work clothes. It's minimised but rounded,
This specific size worked very well for me when I got it, but I very quickly grew out of it and the stiff fabric of the top portion is really unforgiving with cutting in,
Really close to fitting. Too wide in the wires. The tiniest bit too small in the cups. Nice projection at the bottom of the cups - doesn't shift down my body like a lot of other bras.
This bra feels really comfortable against my skin, the band feels just right and the straps don't cut into my shoulders. But it is the wrong shape for me! My boobs don't fill out the cups even though the top and gore lie flat. I can literally pinch the cups where the nipple is supposed to be and feel extra bra! Also, I have a pointed shape when trying on this bra, instead of a rounded shape. My non padded CK Dreamcatcher is the same size, and my boobs fill out the cups.
I've heard this runs small in the cup and definitely found it to be true. I'm in the range of 28FF/G to 30F/FF and I had a decent amount of quadboob in this bra. It's my first plunge and I like the low gore and cleavage, even if it's just from being too small. The band is quite stretchy, which may just be since it's in used condition, but it's a bit bigger than is like. Overall, I really like this bra and will continue to wear it for a while until I can trade or buy one in a 28GG.
