This bra's cups measure identically to an Ewa Michalak 70GG--a bra that is, in theory, two volumes larger. But aside from the wacky sizing, this is a pretty nice bra, and the gore is reasonably low and narrow--I don't seem to spill out or twist it. The fabric is heavy, so it.won't quite fulfill my summer unlined bra fantasies, but it's certainly a nice break from the foam domes. I may reorder it in a 30FF.
Note: It has somewhat flimsy wires and a very stretchy band; the 30 fit my 32" ribcage very comfortably.
At a discounted price on Brastop, I thought to myself "why not?" and I got Portia in the SS13 Seafoam colourway, which is a beautiful greenish blue with dark fuchsia ribbon across the top of the cups. I already had the white/pink version, in the old Curvy Kate cut (wide + shallow) and I wanted to try the new one, which is deeper and narrower. Sadly, it's still not deep or narrow enough (I'd need another 0.5 cm depth and the same cut off on the sides), and I spill out the top and the pink ribbon cuts into my breasts. The band is stretchy and doesn't stay in place. In spite of the fit issues, I still kept it and I wear it around the house, as it's rather comfortable, and it's gotten lots of wear. I find CK's stretch out quite quickly, and their meshes, while nice and soft, don't last very long.
Too wide and shallow for me. I fall out in the centre, and the gore floats. The band is too stretchy and rides up. Not enough depth at the bottom. Not enough depth anywhere, really. Still, a very pretty bra, the white/pink is definitely my favourite colourway of Portia. Simple, but cute. I'm going to try my luck at altering a 32G and see how it fits. Fingers crossed!
I love this bra. There's a little wrinkling and weirdness in the top half of the cup, but it's only noticeable in thin shirts. I LOVE the purple color and the appliqué pattern. Overall it's comfortable, the fabric is soft, but it gives good support and a nice round shape. This is my first Curvy Kate bra, and I might have to try some other styles.
i got this bra here from another user, as well loved but still wearable. i added the stretched band anyway, as ive heard these run loose from the start so t probably isnt much longer than it was new. in my pictures, there are many white discolorations on the bra, as that is how i received it, but i gave it a good thorough hand wash and now most of those are gone or very reduced. i bent the wires a tiny bit on the L side to try and make it less shallow- is a quarter of an inch narrower, and slightly deeper. i dont ...think it affects much, but i figured id try since that breast is a bit narrower and more projected.
this bra is soooo pretty! the purple id deep and rich, and so is the teal (flash makes is seem lighter because the fabric has sheen). it reminds me of a mermaid- i want to hunt this down in a better size and get the whole set https://d28qt14g3opchh.cloudfront.net/smileys/icon_smile.gif" alt=":)" /> the ruffles dont show through on thicker fitted shirts for me, but under light or drapey tops i can see them possibly being a problem.
i knew this size was a VERY far sister size from 34F, but as it was used and the band was long enough i gave it a go, and actually it fits pretty well all things considered. on the loosest hook, the band feels nice and snug- i find myself bouncing between 34 and 32 bands lately. the cup width is pretty good, im surprised it isn't crazy wide! and even though the straps are set a little wide, i dont feel them dig at all or move around theyre soft and very stretchy, so they dont get all up in my arm pits. i wish i could find these type of straps on other bras!
the cup is my main issue, it is SO SHALLOW. i get a *huge* fold in the bottom, and my poor boobs are super squashed to my chest. i think that's the point of this bra, since its meant to give that "cakes on a plate" cleavage, but it also means the profile view is very, very minimized-not something i like. furthermore, because there isn't enough cup room, the gore cant tack unless i move my boobs a bit and make room for it, thus leading to spillage elsewhere. unless my shirt is just as low as the bra, i dont get much cleavage, probably because i dont have a lot of fullness anywhere. its mostly a right-at-the-top-of-the-cup cleavage, and then normal from there up.
because this is so gorgeous, i may try to get a cup size larger. it isnt the best technical fit, but it still manages to be very comfortable, and probably would look a little better if i had some more cup space. Read more 388 more words
The band is similar, I believe. Of course it stretches less and the 32FF.
The cups in this are just too shallow at the bottom for me. I can't fill them at all. This wasn't a concern with the 32FF so I guess there must be some differences between colours/seasons.
Straps and wires are similar to the 32FF. Wires are fairly narrow, comparable to unpadded Cleo bras in this size range.
However, the major quibble I have is that the cup kind of collapses on itself because I can't fill out the bottom, which leads to a weird upside down 7 type shape. I got the bra new, so hopefully it'll soften up with wash and wear. I'll update if this is the case.
UPDATE: I have since discovered that the Emily fits me best at size 28H. It's one of my all time favourite bras. I still find the band quite stretchy hence going down a size, but overall I have to go up a cup size in Curvy Kate.
I bought this bra in a 30G when it was on sale, which is my usual size in other brands. It gives good support and the band fits true to size. However, the embroidery on the cups does not sit flat against my breasts. With movement throughout the day, I start to spill out of the cups. However, there is a lot ...of wrinkling and gaps on the side, so it seems I'm not quite filling the cup. I tried the 30GG and was literally swimming in fabric everywhere. Going down in cup size would almost certainly cause quadraboob. I guess the style of the Emily doesn't work with the shape of my breasts. It might be a better fit for wide set breasts. The first time I put it on, it poked at my sternum constantly. When I wore it the second time it had already relaxed a bit and the poking was no longer an issue, so I'd say that the band stretches quite quickly. Overall, it's still a good supportive bra that I wear several times a week, just not under t-shirts. Read more 124 more words
This bra is very pretty in a subtle way. The fabric and construction seems to be well made, and the 3-hook support is a bonus. However, for me personally, this size and shape just don't do it. The straps are too wide set for me, even though my shoulders are broad, which makes the tops of the cups dig painfully into my armpits. The band is just way too tight for me, and leaves red marks on my skin after only 10 minutes of wear. I cannot fully fill the bottom of the cups, and the underwire sits about an inch lower than it should, even after adjusting. I wanted to love this bra, but it just doesn't work.
At first the bottom of the cup wrinkled/folded over. I've grown into it more since, but the fold is set in the fabric at this point. It is super comfortable, though, and I feel very supported by it!
I love these bras--I have two in the same size, different colors. They are very comfortable and are SO pretty! The fit is good and I like the way I feel when I wear them.
This bra has a wonderful color. I didn't realize that Curvy Kate bras tend to run a cup size small. I ordered the wrong size to begin with and this bra ended up being to a couple sizes too small. I would love to find a new owner.
Bought this bra before I knew my correct size. It is a bit too big in the band for me, and a little small in the cups. Otherwise a great bra, good quality, and you get nice round boobs.
I really want this bra to work for me because it's so pretty. Unfortunately, it gives my boobs a weird shape and the lace is really itchy. The band is super stretchy too.
I bought this bra in hopes that I would finally find one that fit, but it was not to be. The band was rather tight and my breasts spill over on the top and side. It did not work for my bottom heavy breasts.
I like a new bra to fit on the first hook, giving me room to move on to the second and third hooks as it stretches out. While in a 32 band I already needed to fasten this bra on the second hook, the 30 band was very tight on the loosest hook. Like the 32FF, the 30G also gives me the orange-in-a-glass effect as well as quad-boob, and the gore doesn't lie flat. I plan to try the 32G.
