This may be the Cleo Lily we've been waiting for: -Up front -Rounded -Substantial straps -Supportive band -Excellent immediate projection -Excellent center projection -Short-root friendly
If you liked Cleo Lily, here she is...improved. Seriously.
30G CK Daydreamer vs CK Florence -The wire channel is thicker, but not wider: I measured https://d28qt14g3opchh.cloudfront.net/smileys/icon_wink.gif" alt=";-)" /> -The fabric is more supportive, but still relatively lightweight. -The immediate projection is slightly better. -The lift is BETTER. That was the most surprising difference. -The cup width is .25" more narrow.
I definitely need a 30GG in this style because the cup is especially narrow. And, I'm not a fan of the kitsch fabric. However, this is a well-designed, supportive bra! And, I look forward to a more elegant fabric....soon. https://d28qt14g3opchh.cloudfront.net/smileys/icon_smile.gif" alt=":-)" />
It is a great bra. I loved the feel of the fabric: way better than most Curvy Kates. I wish I had bought a 38jj
cupandahalf The fabric is so different and wonderful! I thought Ellace was my favorite until Daydreamer arrived. Amazing. Thanks so much for bringing this design to my attention!
I wish CK unlined bras worked for me. I've tried 4 now including Cascade (I think the same cut as Daydreamer). The fabric was the nicest part about that bra and I think Daydreamer is similar.
letstalkaboutbras I thought Cascade and Daydreamer were the same cut, too. I assure you, they are not. Cascade was too shallow near the wire and I tried in two different sizes hoping to find a better fit. But, Daydreamer has excellent immediate projection. $24 on Amazon in certain sizes.... ;-)
Love4Pollinators Aw, darn, I could have gotten it for cheap to try, too. The problems I had with Cascade were that I'm too FoB and narrow for it. I couldn't fill the lace part at all and the band fought with my flared ribcage. Daydreamer looks really nice on you. I don't hate the print that much :)
I think I will try the 40j and take in the band. I think it's cheap on eBay right now too
Amazon wasn't showing a 30GG anywhere, but there it was when I tried to exchange this 30G. Equal exchange! :-) :-) I'm thrilled because I couldn't find a 30GG on EBay either. And, there is no sign of a different fabric...anywhere. Hoping the 30GG dimensions are perfect. I'm so done with too small bras!
Wow! Good to know! Thanks for the review! It looks really nice on you!
So the SS17 style that I think will be similar in cut, comparing pictures, is the equally kitschy Vegas, in a neon flamingo print. It is both hideous and amazing and I must have it: http://thepetitecollegiate.com/2016/08/04/curvy-kate-ss17/
cupandahalf Giggling. "Hideous and amazing and I must have it." :-) :-)
I want a few bras that cause me to smile. And, Vegas with those freaking pink flamingos may be just what I need. ;-)
Very short, projected, slightly narrow, close set, center full, even breasts....
This is Bardot....improved. The band!! Ellace has a firm piece of peach elastic to which the cups and lace are sewn. This elastic dramatically improves the weight distribution of my breasts. In Bardot, the wire "dug in" under my most projected breast. Ellace's elastic prevents that pain. Wow.
Although I don't yet have a reliable method to measure this, Ellace feels more immediately projected than Bardot. However, this feeling may be more closely related to the weight distributing effect of the firm, peach elastic. Whatever it is, Ellace feels more supportive than Bardot.
Ellace's fabrics are softer and smoother. Mesh ...is not my favorite, but Ellace's mesh is soft! Not quite as soft as the mesh Lejaby Mellisia band, but considerably softer than Bardot. I would not recommend Bardot to those with fabric sensitivities, but Ellace may be acceptable.
The stretch lace across the top of the cup may be a problem for soft breast tissue. My shorties present in-cup quadding at the seam. However, this may be caused by my prominent nipple sitting above the apex. I would prefer a stretch lace with elasticity more closely resembling the mesh lower cup. That may come in Ellace 2.0 https://d28qt14g3opchh.cloudfront.net/smileys/icon_wink.gif" alt=";-)" /> This is one detraction, but it won't prevent me from wearing this very comfortable, supportive bra.
Ellace can accommodate taller roots than Bardot because the cup is .5" taller and the top of the cup is stretch lace rather than mesh. However, Ellace remains a wonderful option for short-rooted, projected breasts.
The 2nd 30G Bardot I ordered will be returned and replaced with another 30G Ellace. https://d28qt14g3opchh.cloudfront.net/smileys/icon_smile.gif" alt=":-)" /> Read more 175 more words
This looks good on you! Do you find that the cups run true to size?
They feel very true to size. However, if you have tall roots, you may need to size up.
Thanks! As someone who's still trying to find my ideal size, I think I may try a 30FF based on your review. I'm also short-rooted.
I'm curious how a 30FF would fit, too. I look forward to your review!! :-) :-) I have the straps tightened more than they should be. A 30FF may fit me, too. :-)
Where did you find the new colorway?? I've only ever found the black one.
ooooh they even have the latte version! *must not buy bras*
Nevermind, it's "not available to purchase in your region" - solves that!
You are saved...."not available in your region."
Love4Pollinators and lcl0706 , the two of you are such terrible influences on money I don't have... but I am grateful for your insight, experience, and guidance. :)
thanks for the review! nice to hear something nice about a curvy kate :)
I do think you'd be much more comfortable in this in a 30FF.
I also loved this bra but it was a bit wobbly on my 40HH breasts. You can also try the Curvy Kate Florence Balcony Bra (CK8001), which I found to fit exactly like the Ellace but with a non-stretch top portion.
Wonderful look on you. Just another bra I would love to have but does not come in my size.
CUP HEIGHT: *Strap to Apex to Wire: 8.5" *Strap to Bottom of Wing: 7.25"
This bra fits me very comfortably. The only issue I have with it is a little gapping and puckering on top, which seems to be easily mitigated by taking in a tiny bit of the mesh fabric along the line where it meets the satin. Then the cups appear to be an exceptional fit.
I also didn't think it was giving my full-on-bottom breasts very much lift. Then I put a t-shirt on and noticed how much higher my breasts were sitting than usual. After a full shift as a barista (lots of bending, reaching, constant walking) and a 2.5 mile walk in 90 degree heat, this bra is still comfortable. There's no chafing, digging, poking, squishing, or other maiming of my boobs going on.
Very pretty, and impressive how it stayed comfy during work! I love how low Curvy Kate underwires usually are on the sides :)
Seems like the cups are kind of tall on you though, that might also explain the puckering on top?
I used to have that bra. It was made for FOT types, as are the other bras in that cut. I feel like Curvy Kate doesn't have a whole lot going for FOB types.
While the fit of this bra is sigh-worthy, the construction is solid and keeps the horrific fit from ruining the practicality of this bra. The key to this bra's design is the vertical boning along the seams. Without it, this bra is just another wide, shallow strapless with an inward curve at the top that may be problematic for FOT shapes. The cups run small, but I don't know how much I'd recommend sizing up, since it is functional even with the gore a gaping 2" from my sternum. My very projected, firm-ish breasts pushed this entire bra forward at the top and my FOB shape ensures the ...underwires sit rather low. The boning keeps the whole cup from just flopping over (a la FOB boobs in the Deco strapless). My biggest complaint is the the forward tilt of the bra causes the bottom of the wires to dig into my ribs after a couple hours of wear. It's also rather high cut under the arms and at the gore, so it's not incredibly versatile. Sizing up in this would make the wires uselessly and uncomfortably wide for me, so I feel this is my best fit in my usual 30G. Read more 93 more words
Hi, Not sure where you have found this bra from, but this is not final production of this product, so although you found this fitting not to your liking I would encourage you to have a go in a bulk production sample. The final bulk production is a completely different shape and wire, so I would definitely have a look. If you are wondering how I know this, the final production (and final fit) has completely different fabric & no boning. Again, not even sure how you got hold of this sample! The development of this product has taken nearly 3 years with multiple trials in fit, fabric and design, I would hate for you to write it off because of a product that wasn't representative of the final fitting. Same with the 32F below.
Thanks! Charlotte
Do you know if there's any particular reason why the boning was removed? It seems like it would be helpful to provide support, especially in the higher cup sizes.
Right? It seems like they took away the only feature that got a positive mention!
As a true 28GG, the fact this bra fits so tight in the band is not a problem for me given it starts from a 30 back - but of course bare this in mind if you're a 30+ back size. I've never been able to find much of a good fit in this style but the black one seems to be spot on for me. I wonder if it's because the black one runs that little bit tighter in the band than the other colourways, so I can keep it fastened on the loosest hook and in turn not pull the wires too wide? I don't get any overspill at the centre front despite the gore being a bit too wide for me - the Latte and White colours do not fit me as well as this when I have then fastened on the most comfortable hook (the middle hook for those two) - will pop up a review of those ASAP https://d28qt14g3opchh.cloudfront.net/smileys/icon_smile.gif" alt=":)" />
My shape: Projected, narrow, shorter roots, even/functionally full on bottom, soft tissue. Cleo Lily fits me best.
Unfortunately this fits a whole band size large (32). It fits about true to size in the cups if you have short roots; it cuts in a bit on my larger side. Sadly the straps are painfully too short on the longest setting. I'm so bummed!
My shape: Projected, short rooted, even/functionally full on bottom, somewhat narrow, soft tissue.
The cups fit true to size, but the band on mine runs about a size large. Overall this fits me OK, although I do get some rubbing on my tail of spence, and I get a hint of the "upside down 7" shape. The vertical seam is quite pronounced, which creates a strange looking lumpy line under clothes. I'm pretty underwhelmed by the Dreamcatcher, and will be returning it.
This bra is absolutely lovely, but I wish it was comfortable! The front of my armpits were so sore after wearing it for a few hours! The underwire was also too wide for my breasts. The look of the bra is beautiful, but unfortunately, I would not wear it under most clothing as the material appears bumpy and uneven from the lace. All in all, good bra to wear if you know you'll be taking it off immediately..which I guess isn't a good bra to wear at all!
bought this bra a while ago and not sure why i didn't review it then! back when i first got this bra, it was basically a perfect fit. now, i have minimal quadboob as well as horizontal wrinkles in the cup. i'm still going to keep this bra since the quadboob isn't noticeable under shirts and i feel comfortable wearing it.
The Animal print version fits a lot better than the solid colours. I’ve found the solid colours recently are cutting into my breast tissue slightly along the neckline and by the end of the day I’m really spilling out, despite the cup capacity being correct, and a cup size up being far too wide. Not sure if this new print version has been made with a different mesh or in a different factory, but the fit is much better on me. Minus some marks on this colourway though for the black and brown finishings - they’re inside the bra so not a huge issue aesthetically but it is something that bugs me ever so slightly 😅
Wish this fit! Like the Superplunge multiway, there is too much space in the upper part of the cup for my FOB breasts. This would probably work better for someone FOT or even. It is good for center full breasts, as I didn't have a problem in that direction! It's also a very pretty bra.
This almost worked for me, but alas! I get this weird gaping at the very top of the wing under my underarm area. Not gaping at the side of the boob (which would mean the cup was too wide) just gaping at the very top stretchy part of the wing. It was so bizarre, I've never had that problem before. Finally, through trial and error I figured out it was because the straps are simply set too wide. If I put the straps inward, the problem disappears. So sad because otherwise this bra is a good fit with lots of immediate projection.
For me, the vertical seams provide such nice support and a rounded shape. I feel quite secure in this bra, and it's really pretty, too! This G cup is juuuuust on the edge of being too small, but it works for most days.
This bra is so comfortable! The gore is a revalation compared to Panache - it doesn't dig in at all! The cups are covered with very soft material and I like the 3 hook fastening, it feels really secure but not tight. It provides very good uplift, which is great for me because I have low set boobs. I had to go up a cup - I'm normally 30FF - so definitely order a larger cup size in this style. EDIT: the wires are slightly too wide for my shape (I'm not particularly narrow). The gore is still lovely and comfortable though https://d28qt14g3opchh.cloudfront.net/smileys/icon_smile.gif" alt=":)" />
Short, projected, center full, close set, even, slightly narrow breasts....
The 32G Shockwave Bikini I own was too big for swimming. But, it is my most comfortable everyday bra. The 30G has a tighter band and smaller cups which is perfect for swimming. However, the cup is slightly too narrow. When my breasts are larger two weeks per month, even the 32G Shockwave is too small. Otherwise, the 32G fits better. Here is the link to my beloved 32G: http://www.bratabase.com/bra/di7sa/
Like the 32G, you can move the wire away from the gore in this 30G, too. See photos for more detail.
This bra was extremely pleasantly surprising. Narrower wires and cut-and-sew cup construction, which accomodates more projection than the vast majority of UK padded bras I've tried. The shape is *perfectly* round with gentle cleavage... very flattering under fitted clothing. I wouldn't mind if the little purple bows, just like those on the CK Bardot, happen to peak out from beneath a tank top, they're a lovely detail https://d28qt14g3opchh.cloudfront.net/smileys/icon_smile.gif" alt=":)" /> I appreciate the unusual combination of the purple ribbons with the casual denim fabric, however I have to say the pastel polka-dot fabric is kind of juvenile and cheap-looking if you look at it up close. Oh well, it's still very cute as a whole, and the matching panty makes for an adorable and aesthetically presentable set, even though this bra is so incredibly soft it's been designated as my instant go-to "comfort" bra for long days. If you are considering this model, also look into CK's new Daily Dream as they're supposedly the same cut. I'm thrilled with this one!
I would say that the Gia is the best style of bra I've tried. I currently own this in black and the cherry blush color. I definitely need a smaller band and a larger cup and I have a 28H in the blush color on the way and will update once I receive that. If the 28H fits I will most likely list the 30G's for sale (after replacing them, of course). The band is very stretchy, but comfortable and the cups give a nice shape and look nice with their detailing. I really like this bra.
I really like this bra, the lacy top section doesn't cut into tissue at all. I get some slight wrinkling in the lace but I think this looks worse than it is do the lace extending over the edge seam of the cup. Wires are very comfy and it gives a much more flattering shape thats fairly rounded and not very east/west compared to other non padded Curvy Kates https://d28qt14g3opchh.cloudfront.net/smileys/icon_smile.gif" alt=":)" />
It is a great bra. I loved the feel of the fabric: way better than most Curvy Kates. I wish I had bought a 38jj
