I really like the look of this bra. I wish there was more consistency between CK styles. Florence seems to run a little small, Daydreamer seems a little big. I like that it gives a rounded look. The satin for the bottom of the cup and black lace top portion is a pretty combo. The band is super stretchy and I can hook it on the tightest. I need lots of projection at the wire and I find this is quite adequate. I usually have difficulty filling the top of the cup and this is no exception.
It's a nice bra but sadly it doesn't fit. I love the detail on the gore with the flower button instead of the usual tiny bow. I've gotten compliments on this bra before. It looks very nice. The band is comfortable. The detail on the top of the cup still looks good under shirts too. I can't comment much on the cups themselves except that they are too small for me. I'd have to get a larger size. The underwires didn't poke me or anything.
Just a preliminary review - I'll update it as I've worn it more.
At first I thought the cups might be too big but this was quickly fixed by tightening the band in the back. Band seems to run a bit big. I can wear it comfortably on the tightest setting.
The cups are wider and not nearly as projected as I would normally need in a bra but they aren't uncomfortable or noticeable with the design of the top.
I love how the side rouching makes the top more adjustable for different torso sizes and shapes. The color is a perfect royal blue.
I'm slightly FOB, pendulous with lots of immediate projection and centerfullness, narrow roots and soft tissue.
This is the first bra from my search that I've kept. Though the wires are at the max of what I can comfortably tolerate, it does a good job of holding in all my breast tissue without extra space. I would prefer a bra with more Center pull as my upper breast tissue is so soft and it's not super supported. The profile it gives me is rounded, though not quite as lifted as I would prefer. I'm also experiencing some in-cup quadding as a result of the upper fabric not being as supportive as the lower fabric. (I tried a different size and color and did not experience this.)
I have pretty sensitive skin and the bra isn't terrible comfortable at this point - I'm hoping the tag and seams will soften a bit with washing and wearing. The knot right behind the flower charm at the gore irritates my skin.
I bought this one because the 32GG was too small in the cup but ok in the band - and the 32H is ok in the cup but too small in the band... I'm not sending it back and wearing it with an extender for the time being.
This bra is so strange on me, yet I kind of love it. It doesn't fit at all, but it's comfy and cute, and I'm keeping it!
I bought it on a swap page in a lot, I paid less than $5 for it. I love the colors - mine is purple with teal trim, and those are 2 of my favorite colors!
Since it's secondhand, I probably won't enter measurements for this one - it is beyond stretched out. Normally I wear a 34 band, and occasionally a 32 band in some of the stretchier ones, but this is a 32 that I can easily fasten on the ...tightest hooks and it's STILL a little loose. So it's a 32 that fits like a big 36? Something in that neighborhood.
The cups give the strangest effect. My husband loves this bra, ha! It makes my boobs very wide and flat. If it weren't for the va-va-voom appearance of the bra itself and the "cakes on a plate" cleavage, it would definitely be a minimizer. Looking down at my cleavage is just this strange "where did everything go?" feeling. I did try it on with a shirt, just to see, and the lace detail at the top of the cup is actually less noticeable than you'd expect. I could possibly get away with wearing this as a regular bra with the right shirt. One little detail that I never saw in the photos or read in any reviews was the gore - I've never seen one like this. The gore actually comes up higher than the cups; the gore comes up into my cleavage and then drops about 1/4" to where the cup starts. I'll try to get a picture. It's kind of neat, doesn't bother me at all.
As for fit issues, it's definitely too shallow. I have wrinkling all the way along the wire. And the wires are too wide. And it's a big stretched out mess. BUT SO COMFORTABLE. The cups are shockingly just right; I don't know if this is some feat of engineering or what, but the edges of the cups don't gap or quad, they're just right.
This bra is all "Lisa Frank burlesque show" to observers but feels like loungewear. I feel like it appears to be a better fit than it actually is, unless you know what to look for. Read more 287 more words
This is the first Curvy Kate bra I've tried, as I suspected they would be too full cupped for me. I decided to give this one a try, and although it doesn't fit, it's not as far off the mark as I thought it might be. I don't quite fill the top of the cups, the centre gore digs in at the top as it's just a tad too high for me, and the straps are a bit too wide set. However, it was actually quite comfy compared to other bras I've tried, and it's convinced me to perhaps give other Curvy Kate's a try. I would say this is an extremely stretchy band and could do it up on the tightest hook, so definitely order a band size smaller than you measure.
This one didn't fit me great, so I can't comment too much on that. The band was fine, but the cups were at least a cup size too small, and now I can't take pictures because I left it in Australia, where postage is cheaper.
One thing I am definitely noticing about the Princess now that I've been in possession of three of them is that the cute little dot details do rub off quite quickly. I didn't wear this one much, but I noticed that even the couple of times I did took a toll on the dots. Other than that, the bras are very well made and are surprisingly smooth under shirts.
I usually wear a UK 32GG. I got this bra in that size and also this 32H since I've heard that some of Curvy Kate's bras run small in the cup. I would say this style runs true to size, as the cups are clearly too big for me (the GG fit better, but I had slight quadding due to my FoT boobs). The band seems to be true to size as well, and the elastic does not dig in. Slight stretch to the straps. I don't feel this style is very supportive for heavier or settled boobs. It is all mesh, and while the bottom part of the cup is 2 layers of mesh, it's still quite flimsy. Would be good for summer since it is so thin. The blush color is a good nude for fair skin. The bra I got was missing the middle row of clasps. Never encountered that before, but sometimes mistakes happen!
A very pretty and comfy bra! It looks great--the design is super cute and the plunge style very flattering. This is one of my go-to work bras, since it's really comfortable and works well under all necklines. Over the course of the day the underwires will usually travel downwards and end up sitting a few centimeters below the bottom of my breasts; this is a pretty common problem for me (my boobs start weirdly high on my chest), but I think the short center gore of this bra also makes it a little less stable than more substantial models.
I have it too, and I would also like it so much more without the HUGE embroidery. It stands out so much! And IMO it doesn't even make the bra cuter. Why do they have to mess up the details so often?
I know! I ordered it off amazon and in the pictures it looked really cute. But after I got it I thought it looked silly under clothes. I've worn it once. I honestly like just plain bras. I don't need pretty colors or designs lol. There's only two people who see it, me and hubby, and neither of us care, haha.
I like lacy things over pure basics, but it's ridiculous how hard it is to find truly basic bras in extended sizes (particularly small-band large-cup). Why do they assume we don't want beige or black?
This bra is a complete disaster on me. The only reason I hung onto it for so long is because it looked decent under clothes, and I needed a smooth t-shirt type bra that matched my skin tone to wear under button-down shirts at a research conference.
For reference, here's a quick run-down of my shape: I have projected boobs with immediate projection at the bottom. I have almost no tissue on the side of my ribcage and very tall roots that extend up to my collarbone. My boobs are also extremely close-set - at a certain point on my sternum there is no ...way any gore will tack because I have less than a millimetre of space in between my boobs. For this reason I usually need low gores. I am also full in the centre and have about even distribution between the tops and the bottoms of my boobs.
The Smoothie is way, way too shallow for me, particularly at the bottom - the bottoms of the cups are permanently buckled as a result of my breasts not being able to sit in the cups properly. The straps are fully adjustable but feel quite loose and stretchy - they're not as bad as the straps on the Tease Me bras, but I could still feel them slipping down at the conference. The gore's technically the right height for me - it's not low enough that I'd be constantly spilling out of it, and it's not high enough to sit on tissue - but it's too wide for my boobs so ends up being pushed away anyway. My Smoothie also has something weird going on where the wires are too short for the channels and won't don't extend all the way up to the gore, which worsens the problem of the gore being pushed out. I'm not sure if this is a common problem or not.
The top of the cup doesn't feel closed off, and seems to be compatible with upper fullness and/or tall roots in this respect. However, my centre fullness (liberated by the poorly-fitting gore) sneaks up throughout the day, so I get quadboob in the middle. I have empty space on the side and the wires poke me in the armpits, but this is something I seem to get in pretty well every non-Polish bra.
I am of Western European descent and have very pale skin, despite living in Australia, and this bra did a reasonable job of matching my skin tone. It could probably work for someone with similar colouring to me with more of a light tan as well.
I'll conclude this review by noting that this is the older Smoothie cut, so I'm not sure if the issues I've experienced are present in the new cut (Smoothie Wild, I think it is?) as well.
I'll be listing it as a giveaway, for obvious reasons. Read more 394 more words
I own two Dreamcatchers at the moment, this one in the continuity Biscotti colourway and another one in the Petrol colourway. I found the two to fit similarly to the Romance I own in the same size, but this Biscotti one seemed to run slightly smaller than the Petrol. I could still wear both when I was a 32H with some adjusting of straps, so I don't think it runs small enough to need to size up if the other Dreamcatcher colourways fit all right. It's a very pretty basic bra.
This bra no longer fits me as I am more of a 30J now, but fit really well when I was a 32H. Seems to run true to size for Curvy Kate - I found it to fit similarly to a plum/watermelon Romance I own in the same size. The bra seemed to maintain its shape throughout the day, no turning into upside down 7. It didn't quite have enough room in the bottom of the cups for me when I bought it, so I'd say that the Dreamcatcher would suit someone with even fullness and average root width. I didn't find the wires as wide as some other CK bras I've tried.
I tried this in the black/blush colorway, which is either from SS15 or AW14. I know CK has been making improvements on the fit of their bras, so I was hoping this would fit me well/better than a previous season's model I tried of this. Sadly, it was ALL kinds of wrong on me.
For sizing reference, I generally wear either a UK 32H or 34GG. The band is insanely tight on this; so much so, I could just barely get it to fasten at all. Those of you purchasing newer models, definitely do not size down in the band, as has been previously advised with this bra. Additionally, the cups were too big and/or too tall, so there's significant gaping at the top. Worst of all, the bottom of the cup is so incredibly shallow, it gave me the absolute worst orange in a glass fitting I've ever had in a bra. My breasts only made it to about half-way down the cup -- not even remotely close to the wire! Sadly, this bra is not for me.
Love this bra even though it doesn't technically fit me. My boobs don't even have a finger's worth of space between them, so the gore does dig in a bit, but it really isn't so bad/uncomfortable and is hardly noticeable for me. If I were to purchase this bra again, I would probably go up another cup size or two as I think I am a little too projected for this model. There's a good chunk of boob that's pushed up and out of the cup that would be very noticeable if not for the lacy trim. However, my boyfriend absolutely loves the massive cakes on a plate look this gives me, so I will definitely be holding onto it!
This bra is very strange, possibly the strangest I've ever owned. Some things I really liked about the bra were the colorful pattern, low center gore and comfortably stretchy (but very supportive) band. What I really didn't like about the bra: The lace cup panel is NOT stretch lace.
This lends an extremely awkward shape to the cup, and my chest. The bra is actually very comfortable, but the shape is very 1960's cone bra. Which is very off putting. I also got a touch of quad boob, since the lace could not accommodate fir any more center fullness.
All in all, I would say if you have larger, conical breasts, this bra would be a good fit. But if you're like me and need a little stretch for center fullness, or want a rounder profile I would not recommend this bra. @Curvy Kate, please get with the times! Stretch lace is best lace!
I love stretch lace, too, but it tends to be less than ideal for people with soft, heavy breasts, who need bras to lock everything in and stabilize it. So that's one reason why there will always be many bras with non-stretch lace sections.
Some pictures of this bra make it look pink. It is not. It's a beautiful ruby red with coral stitching.
I found the gore to be unusually wide. Normally the wire casing tips are right next to each other but this one has a 1/4" of fabric between the two wires. The wire width is great for me. Narrow. And the cups seem deep enough at the bottom but there's something funky going on with the shape. It's flattened and spread out. There's also a bit of quad at the top.
Band is firm and has a nice 3 hook closure.
Unfortunately this one is going back. Why can't curvy Kate make the one bra that fits me (lola) come in all the colors? *pout*
Another one of my favorite Ritzy's! https://d28qt14g3opchh.cloudfront.net/smileys/icon_smile.gif" alt=":)" /> So comfy, and does the best uplifting job ever! I was a little scared to go up a band size and the center gore would be too wide, but it is ok.
I have it too, and I would also like it so much more without the HUGE embroidery. It stands out so much! And IMO it doesn't even make the bra cuter. Why do they have to mess up the details so often?
