I just HAD to try this bra when I found it on braswap, and was glad it was a bigger cup because I've had bad experiences with CK running small in the cups.
When I first opened the package, after I got over how pretty it is, I thought it was going to be too big but it is actually Almost too small. It looks too big when off, I think, because of all the material in the armpits.. it rubs me the wrong way :/ When I loosen the straps it helps a little.
It's a little shallow but not as bad as I thought it was going to be. I don't think I can keep it though :/ which is a shame because it's awesome cleavage, and I love the 3 hook closure.
Very pretty bra. Unfortunately, I ordered this as a sister size to a 34GG, but it did not work for me, I've tried several other Curvy Kates in the interim, and they just don't seem to work for me. Wore it once for a few hours, but it wasn't for me.
This bra is at LEAST two cup sizes too small, so it's difficult to say how it fits. However, I can say that no matter how 'empty' your breasts are, holy cow will this give you incredible balloons-stuck-to-my-chest cleavage. It's pretty difficult to determine shape with sizing so far off, and same with support--my breasts are popping, spilling, veritably teeming over the cups, but I don't know if that's because of the construction or because it's waaay too small.
Again, this is at least a cup size too small for me; I'd love to try it one size up. The support is great, but I'm not so sure about the shape on this one--the underwires are way too wide for me (they extend at least 1/2" after my breast stops), and the straps feel like they're trying to sneak under my armpits. It gives me a rounded, but kind of compressed shape--not quite as forward-projecting as I'd like, but not drooping, either.
Yet another bra that I wish worked for me, but that I bought before really understanding proper fitting. It is comfortable and gives fantastic lift. However, everything else about it is wrong for me - straps too wide, wires too wide, and band too big/cup too small. Part of this is because the showgirl range seems to run small, part of it is just because I bought the wrong size.
I really love the appearance of this bra, it seems very luxurious, however it seems to run small in the cup by about a cup size, which made it unwearable for me. It creates a bulging at the top of the cup. Underwires were narrow but fit well, didn't rise too high or rub in the armpit region. Overall very comfortable and good quality, just the wrong size for me.
The Curvy Kate Tempt Me was comfortable and well-made. I like the combination of the red satiny fabric with the black mesh and embroidery, plus the cute buttons on the front. It seems to run about a half cup size small, although I'm not 100% sure of my size right now. The center gore is low, and the wires don't rise up too high or poke under the arms. Unfortunately, plunge styles just don't work for my shape; my boobs always fall out into the middle of the bra and leave empty space at the bottom, no matter the size of the bra.
BAND: My underbust measures 30 inches. I don't like super tight bands, so I went for a 32, but I can fasten this bra on the tightest hooks and it is still a bit looser than I'd prefer. Partially this is because the fabric is very stretchy. The band seems to run a bit big/loose.
There are three rows of hooks, which is great and supportive. The fabric of the band is so stretchy though, and the material seems to want to slide around, so I do have to readjust once in a while and re-swoop and scoop.
CUPS: The cups ...are constructed with three seams. I have very sensitive skin, so although the fabric is pretty soft and comfortable, the seams irritate my skin a little.
At first I thought the cups were too big, but after swooping and scooping, I had no problem filling them. Since my breasts are full on the bottom (as opposed to full on the top), I didn't get the push-up/cleavage effect that some others do while wearing this bra, but it does lift and separate well. The depth of the cups is fine for me, and it gives a nice shape both from the front and from the side.
The problem is that the wires are too wide. I prefer a more front and center shape, and this is a bit east/west for me.
WIRES: The wires on this bra are about an inch too wide for me. As mentioned before, initially I thought that the cup size was too large, but really, I just need a narrower shape. The wires are also very high, and as a petite woman (5'2"), when I'm wearing the bra high enough on my torso, they end up cutting into my armpits.
Overall, this is a beautiful bra and it seems to be well-constructed. It just runs a bit big in the band and wide/high in the wires for me. Still, compared to the 36DD's that I was wearing before, it is closer to a true fit for me. The search continues! Read more 255 more words
Have the Ivory and the Black...neither one fit correctly. They are to shallow for my shape. Good quality plunge bra, nice firm band and pretty details along cups.
My second try with the Curvy Kate line. Not the best fit for me. The cups are much to shallow for me and I get the weirdest flat look with a huge quadboob popping out of the bra. The black one I wore once for 4 hours...it was terrible! https://d28qt14g3opchh.cloudfront.net/smileys/icon_sad.gif" alt=":(" /> I also have the Ivory, never worn only tried it on and it feels even worse. So since ordering these I now know (from the calculations on here) I am very deep and not so wide. Hope this helps anyone considering this line/style.
This is a gorgeous bra, all the way. I bought it for the way it looks, and I wear it because it looks amazing. I have this in the pink/ivory colorway (although I love the almond/black and would love it in a green/ivory or lemon/ivory!).
The band size fits me well - it's neither too tight nor too loose. The underwires are not too wide, and they don't dig in. The gore sits flat against my chest, with no discomfort. The only area of discomfort I have is the fabric along the underwires tends to roll under the underwire and this chafes my ribs. The cups fit well, ...with minimal wrinkling at the bottom of the cup. Everything about this bra is amazingly soft and luxurious.
The colors are amazing, the lace is gorgeous and the ribbons are super cute. I have had issues with the ribbons falling off (while shipping no less), and the colors bleed. If you buy this bra, make sure you wash it in cold water, so your colors don't run. My band is now pale pink rather than ivory, and while it's not noticable it still annoys me. They don't mark it cold wash, but it definitely needs to be! Read more 98 more words
This bra does the Marie Antoinette cleavage like the others in the Showgirl collection, and is very pretty in the black/pink combination. The black lace along the bottom edge never softened up for me, so I eventually had to put a few stitches to keep the band from curling under at the front bottom-most curve of the cup, and comfort has improved dramatically since. The straps are very stretchy, so overall a bit bouncy when you move. It doesn't bother me, but not the best if you want the other end of the spectrum where you're more secure and not-moving.
Really pretty bra in the Jade/Grape combination. Pushes everything way up in a Marie Antoinette cleavage sort of way, but also has very shallow cups to go with it, leading to a slight quadraboob along the edge for me. Stretchy band, so I went down a band size and up yet another cup size, and still a bit small in the cup at this point. I like the details, and under most shirts, they are not noticeable so I an wear it more often then just a special occasion.
The band is stretchy, but not as crazy as some of the other Showgirls I’ve tried on, so I started with a 32, although the 30 may work better now. The cups are three-part padded foam, and the seams are covered up on the front with the lace overlay, nicely done!
Unfortunately, the bottom of the cup is extremely shallow, so my breasts, which are bottom-heavy, leave an empty space there. This pushes them up some so that they do not use the entire cup of the bra, and more distressingly, pop out at the top. I had heard this bra runs small, so I ordered ...a cup size up (32GG). Obviously too small: I didn’t fill the bottom, but overflowed the top. I returned it for a size two up (32H), and I didn’t pop out quite as much, but the bra was still too small across the top of the cup, and there was the dreaded fabric fold on the bottom. I’ve seen this in other pictures, and I wonder if it’s a necessary evil to get that cleavage. In any case, I gave up and didn’t get a size up (32HH), because I didn’t think the under-fold would go away. This problem did not go away with wears/washes.
I don’t recommend jumping around in this bra, but it works decently if your day doesn’t involve a bunch of running. The bra not working with my shape and not giving enough support may have corrupted my data, though. It’s really a shame I didn’t have any luck with this shape- apparently Curvy Kate’s Elegance continuity line and Wild for this fall also use the same construction. I recommend you size up, and don’t get your hopes up for this bra if you are full on the bottom. Read more 197 more words
This bra is so cute! A lot of people mentioned the need to go up a cup size (or two) and down a back size in this bra. I'm so glad I did as it fits perfectly.
