I'm still figuring out my shape but I believe I'm mostly FOB and center-full, fairly close-set with indenting/deflation near tail of spence, and pretty narrow-rooted with some height and some projection.
[Disclaimer - I have only tried it on]
PROS: - Very pretty pattern - Comfortable (except center gore)
CONS: - Internal fabric flap pushes into outer sides and messes with shape - Some gapping with arm movement - Lace is a little loose around tail of spence - Center gore is a little too tall & a bit itchy - Not a big fan of the strap clips being at the front
I noticed that the internal fabric flaps of the cups seemed to fit differently and then ...I saw that one extended farther than the other. Seems to be a quality control issue, but it was easily fixable.
I think this bra would be better for someone with more fullness at the top/around the tail of spence than me. However, it's super cute and pretty so I think I'll keep it and maybe make some alterations! This seems like it would be a good date bra. Read more 68 more words
This is my third try with Fantasie's Vertical Seam cut. I decided to size up one cup size in the Angelina Vertical Seam Bra, as I recently received the Erica Vertical Seam Bra in my normal size of 30DD and found it to be a bit shallow, so I was curious to see how the next size would fit. However, this turned out to be a mistake, because the proportions of the cup ended up too tall on me. While this bra is lovely, I would say that you should stick with your normal size in the Fantasie Vertical Seam styles, and if they are ...too shallow for you, then the cut is just not suitable for your shape.
I already have the Angelina Side Support in Cafe au Lait, so this time I picked up the color Platinum. Unlike the Side Support, where the bottom and sides of the cup are mesh reinforced with tricot for stability, the Vertical Seam is just single layer mesh with one full vertical seam at the center of the cup for a 2HC construction. This style also has a mesh inner sling for a bit of side support, though this style is definitely less supportive than the Side Support styles. Because I sized up, the entire cup was just about a half size too big all around--wires, cup height, and depth all made the bra look disproportionate on my body.
The band is pretty standard Fantasie, as it is made from plain, firm powermesh. There is a bit of embroidery detail at the hooks, which is nice. The entire front of the bra, including the cradle, is covered with rich, gorgeous two-tone embroidery in a fan-like motif of poppies. Platinum is actually a black base with black, cream, and grey embroidery. The quality of the embroidery is much softer than Sienna, but isn't the softest I've encountered. Straps are wide picot edged elastic with topped on embroidered fabric at the front. The center gore features a twisted two-tone bow and a teardrop crystal. This is a very lovely bra and seems to be worth the high price tag, as long the fit suits you.
I think this cut would be best for even, rounded shapes that are not particularly full or heavy. Very projected or conical shapes may not find the 2HC Vertical Seam construction suitable, and very full breasts will probably not find it supportive enough. The Vertical Seam cut gives a more natural, less lifted/projected shape than the Side Support styles. Read more 324 more words
Elsie is a sister cut of Frances and Camilla, and I have now tried this cut in 3 sizes: 30D, 30DD, and 30E. I found that 30D in general is far too small for me in the cups, 30DD seems just right but the cups can be a bit narrow, and 30E is definitely too big.
As I have reviewed this style in 30D, please see that review for details on this style. This review is to discuss the fit of 30E and how it compares to the other sizes.
I noticed that the band on this size is somehow bigger than the 30D and 30DD bands, ...so this one obviously didn't fit me. I have found some inconsistencies in the Fantasie 30 bands I've tried so far, so I am not sure if this is intentional or not. This definitely fits like a 32 band, so I would be careful if you are a snug 30 or really a 28 that can get away with 30 bands sometimes.
Another interesting point about this bra is that the cup width actually measures the same as some of my other 30DDs in this cut, but this is only true when comparing the top of the wires measured straight across. The wires are definitely longer in this style and have a deeper curve, so even though this upper width measurement is the same, the wire fits totally differently. Since these Side Support styles seem to fit differently against the breast, I couldn't fill the cup at the bottom of the wire and at the outside side of the cup. This is actually pretty rare for me, and I usually don't have problems with wires that have the same measurements as this 30E.
The increased cup depth and height were definitely a problem for me, so as both of these dimensions increased, there was no way I could fill out the upper cup either. These side support styles tend to fit and look best if you fill out the cup very snugly, so I would stick with a size that is slightly small over a size that is obviously too large. While the fabric is lightweight and doesn't show wrinkles under clothing, this style really doesn't give the best lift and shape unless the cups fit snugly.
So, this particular cut is suitable for even to slightly FOT shapes, larger 30 bands, and you should stick with your normal cup size, rounding down if you are between cup sizes. Read more 313 more words
I'm still waiting for my order, according to your measurements, I think a 30F will be a good fit for me because the cups are deep enough and I also need a larger 30 band.
smjwzhan Yes, I hope this works out for you! It’s such a beautiful bra and I am happy that it is a “normal” fit, I think the shape will be fine for most shapes. Let me know how it turns out! If I find a 30DD on Amazon I will probably go ahead and get it, but I’m still waiting for it to pop up!

smjwzhan I have this bra in 30E! It doesn't fit now that I've gained some volume, but before my size changed it was one of my favorites! I hope it fits you!
This bra is absolutely stunning. It’s described as having gold details, but personally I would describe it as more tan and bronze-definitely not gold. The lace has such a soft and subtle shine to it, with just a tad of stretch. The bow in the middle feels cheap in comparison to the rest of the bra, but it looks ok. There is nice side support in the cups. No stretch in the cups at all except for the lace top.
I was worried about this bra not having enough projection so I ordered my typical size of 30DD and a size up of 30E. Projection doesn’t seem ...to be an issue at all, I would describe it as having decent immediate projection. I cannot fill up this 30E at all; I suspect in the 30DD(which I haven’t received yet) I will still have wrinkling up top, as my short roots typically can’t fill most bras, especially full cups, but that it should fit me much better than this 30E. This bra is beautiful enough to be kept at least as a bedroom bra even if it doesn’t fit perfectly in my usual size.
I’m no expert by any means, but I feel like a full round breast would fit this bra wonderfully. Read more 107 more words
Soooo pretty!! I tried a Fantasie allegra in 30E and I found it fit nice and projected and more like an F also
Oh my god! This is the one that I tried on Friday that was such a huge fail for me! I had no idea what style it was. Now I do. I’m glad that it’s good (better) for you.
Ahh Calluna I’m sorry it was a fail! I hate when I fall in love with a bra, only to receive it and it be a fail :-( I’m hoping the smaller size is a better win for me. They also make a balconette style but since it’s a thin foam I’m guessing it’s probably shallow and not worth the time. I’m a bargain shopper so I’m afraid of investing in an EM(well investing in the shipping) only for it to fail.
It was the bit of elastic that lined the top of the cup that was the biggest problem. I had the same problem with it cutting into my tissue regardless of the size (I tried a 30F and 30FF). The cup was also a bit too tall. My roots are taller but also shallow so the elastic cut into the taller roots but was simultaneously looking for fuller and/firmer tissue on top.
This fits true to size for a 30E. I need narrow separation, and this bra delivers. However, there is a little extra room in the bottom of the cups I can't quite fill, but it is not too bad. The underwire goes a bit wider and out-side edge downward angled than my narrow breasts prefer. Very lacy, full-coverage.
i think it gives a nice shape under clothes. would you know if there's anything similar to this that's not a full cup?
Yes, the shape is really good but unfortunately I don't know any similar bra that isn't full cup. I think it's not easy to make moulded non-padded bra that isn't full cup.
This is my everyday bra. I've worn them for 5+ years. The wires have never poked through, the elastic stretches a little after the first few wearings & washes but then seems to last forever. It's hard to tell (except for the faded label) which are newer & which are older. It may not be sexy or beautiful but it fits my shape, does not create extra projection so I can wear clothes in a size that fits the rest of me instead of blouses etc. whose shoulder seams are 1/2 way to my elbows, & I can go through the day moving my ...arms without obstruction, bending & lifting without coming out of it. Even though I'm 68 I don't sag much so I can't comment on lift except that I have more with it on than without it. The shape is rounded & natural, looks good in T shirts, but when going out in public headlights may need dimming. Most of the time it's just me, my husband & my sheep so I need to be able to move around freely without thinking about the wear & tear on the bra or whether I'm popping out the top & without the bulk of a sports bra. Band length: The band is a true 30" band, so on my 27" underbust, it feels a bit too loose and rides up on me.
Cups: On my 28FF/G breasts, the cups are too small. However, it doesn't look too bad since it is a full cup and it doesn't cut on top of my breasts. It also have a side support so my breasts don't have the east-west look in it. The centre gore also comes high up on me, which is not a problem for me because I don't mind it. At first it looks like it sits flush against my sternum, however, after I took it ...off, the red marks shows that it sits on my breasts tissue, albeit not too much. The cup separation also is a bit too wide for me. I will have to take in the centre gore. The sides don't come up too high, so it doesn't poke my armpit.
Lift: It doesn't lift too much, even though I have shorten the straps quite a lot. Maybe it's because I'm wearing a band size too big. Nevertheless, it doesn't look droopy either.
Appearance: The colour 'blackberry' is a gorgeous deep purple. Unfortunately the seaming where the lace part on top meets the satin part shows under my thin knit top.
Overall: It's a beautiful and comfortable bra. I'd still wear it even though it is too small for me. Read more 126 more words
This one runs at least one cup size large for me. It's very comfortable, nothing pokes or digs, and best of all it's smooth! The padding is very thin but stiff so it doesn't add size at all but there's no way anything will show through it. To give an idea...I can manage to comfortably breastfeed in Cleo Juna and Ewa Michalak HP but there's no way I can fold this down enough, I have to unhook the back which is a pain. But the other two have seams and there are times when I need a smooth bra...this is awesome for that.
I have ...it in nude, very plain but it does have a few bows on it. Shape is pretty rounded but not flattened / minimized at all. I am still getting used to my proper bra size but it seemed very tight in the band at first, loosened up a lot within 4-5 wears though and I'd say it's a true 30. I wish it came in a 28 band. Extremely comfortable, I can forget it's even on although that may be because the band is on the looser side. Shape and support don't seem to suffer because of this.
I have gotten some wrinkling in the bottom of the cups with wear...doesn't show at all under shirts and doesn't affect shape or support much. Would definately buy again...the best seamless option I've tried. If I get a chance I will try one cup size up though, I do get slight quadboob at times (my size fluctuates a lot at the moment).
I only tried on this bra in a local shop, but I did not buy it as it did not fit me very well.
General comments:
I have only just hopped on the correct-size-bra-band-wagon and still very much in the process of figuring out what works for me. This is not made any easier by the fact that I am breastfeeding (10 months and counting) and still am not used to fact that I have BREASTS, as opposed to my pre-pregnancy 'breasts'. Also, because of breastfeeding, my size, shape and density isn't exactly constant. Anyway, I've so far found only two bra models in a size 60 band (both Freya) ...in local stores and this review is for one of them. I tried this bra on in 65E only.
Bra description:
A reasonably okay-looking bra made out of black mesh with cream embroidery in a floral pattern. I wasn't smitten, but wanted to try ANY bra with a band size smaller than 70, so I tried this one too.
Fit:
The band didn't feel THAT snug. In fact, I could quite easily close it at the tightest hook. The centre gore laid nice and flat though, something I haven't seen too often before.
The cups were a decidedly less successful story, though not as disastrous as the ones on two Freya models I tried at the same time. The underwires only JUST encircled my breasts, but not convincingly so. I would have preferred them wider, but with the band size not optimum I did not see a point in trying a larger size. The cups actually ALMOST fit -- there was only some slight wrinkling at the top of the left one, my slightly smaller breast. Slight tightness along the edges of the cups, though, again, not as badly cutting into my breasts as the Freyas did. The shape the cups gave me was just ... meh. Not very lifted at all, pointy, East-West -- pretty much as if I wasn't wearing any bra at all. It also didn't feel supportive and the fabric less than comfortable against my skin.
Conclusion:
Not for me, this bra. It didn't do anything for my wide-set, wide-based, not too voluminous breasts. The search continues. Read more 255 more words
This bra is a very good bra under almost anything, including anything you could wear a 4510 under and a few shirts with lower plunges (the center gore is a bit shorter) or with alternate necklines like halters or racerbacks, due to the convertible straps.
Much like the 4510, this bra is very simple, basic, and unadorned. The nude works well under everything. It is the same kind of molded cup, with a slighly plunging cup rather than the standard balconette style. In a pinch, it can be worn as a strapless, though I wouldn't recommend it for long periods of time, as it really doesn't have the staying power the 4530 does. It gives the same kind of forward, rounded shaping as the 4510, with a great support to pull breast tissue forward from under the arms. A great go-to, everyday kind of bra that works great with necklines the 4510 just can't handle.
It runs a little small in the cup, but I noticed that with most of Fantasie's bras. It's a 30, a 28 would have fit much better, but I can get away with wearing 30's and even some 32's, just as long as they have a full band. This one does. The fabric is soft but sturdy, as are the straps. It's a pretty bra, but one I only wear if I've lost a couple pounds because the cups are on the scant side.
Too much front projection. Pushes boobs forward. Uncomfortable around front of shoulder/armpit area, especially when moving arms forward. Maybe a non-side support bra from Fantasie would fit better.
Love the stretch feel of this bra but something doesn't sit right in the cups. The top section is one layer and thinner while the side and bottom are two layer. Get slight cone boob in this because of the different seams pulling. Wire feels a tad to wide on the side so I don't know if it will be good to go a cup size up. Center gore lays flat and is pretty narrow but in one of the pics you can see how close set I am when pulling gore away from me. Close to a perfect bra but not the perfect bra.
This bra gives me a very pointy shape (more natural looking I guess). Not a big fan of it. On top of that, I find the sides very itchy. Can't wear it for long.
I've tried on and own multiple 30E Fantasie side support bras, and compared to them, this one is definitely bigger in the cup. Fortunately I seem to be outgrowing my 30E's so this one works for me at this time, but some may want to consider sizing down.
The lace is gorgeous, I just love everything about how this bra looks. The top of the cups do have elastic, so it will conform well to your shape. This could be problematic for those with tall roots.
Lots of projection. Provides a lifted, separated shape.
The nude colorway is an excellent bra. Cups give nice shape. Outer stretchy layer on lower cup.
I did buy this in 32E in red and it is a completely different bra! Terrible fit due to the odd construction. Fabric on lower cup are fused or glued together and a thick vertical seam makes things worse. The breast are moulded to a three faceted shape. Impossible to wear with a tight top. Will write a review if it soon.
I'm still waiting for my order, according to your measurements, I think a 30F will be a good fit for me because the cups are deep enough and I also need a larger 30 band.
