The wires on this for are quite wide but they don't dig in and so I don't find the width of the wires or the wire length an issue at all and I normally do. I like that the straps are a little bit water set then the Panache sports bra. That's not to say that the straps are wide but I like the look better. I don't get the bra cutting into my armpit fat so maybe that could have to do with the wing height.
The fabric on this bra is stretcher but still very supportive. The upper portion of the cups offers accommodation for upper fullness ...but also lower fullness. This bra has four columns of hooks with four hooks each
This is my preferred brought to the Panache sports bra which I love but I definitely like the look and feel of this bra better.
I have tried the Panache sports bra in size is 30G, 30FF, 32FF and 32F. I always have an issue with the cup depth to wire width ratio. I find it doesn't work as well with full on top chest.I am not able to fill out the upper portion of the bra. When the cup depth does work so what the cup width is too small and there's issues with it diggig in where it shouldn't.
I would recommend this for over the Panache sports bra to those with upper fullness or even fullness Read more 133 more words
This bra is a 34G Us size and 34 F UK size. My center gore does not lie flat on my sternum, and I'm bulging a little on the sideof the bra, but this is a soft cup. This sports bra has adjustable straps which is great and just a little bounce when I'm active. The cups are torpedo shaped. I don't mind this because I wear this when I work out. The straps are a little itchy, but again, I will only wear this when I work out, so I don't mind
Update*** years later, i have added pictures and I have since had a baby and gained/lost weight. This sports bra is more suitable for medium intensity. Also not good for very full on top breasts, I am full on top and the top of the cup is fine, but I have a lot of empty space in the bottom cup.
This is the best sports bra I have tried so far, but it is unfortunately too small (when I purchased it, I was a 28G and was quad-boobing already, and I have since gone up a size) .
I really wanted this to work , as it keeps me from jiggling at all, which is witchcraft, but the cups are too small, so I am quad-boobing a little bit out of the the top and sides of the cup and the centre gore does not tack, and the wires under my underarms overlap my breast tissue a little bit.
I think this bra is made for full on ...bottom breasts, as although I am quadboobing at the top and the gore does not lay flat, I still have a little bit of extra room unless I fiddle a whole bunch and sort of jam myself in.
The bra does not poke anywhere, but like all sports bras the compression gives me some upper back aching.
The band fits quite true to size. There are four hooks in the back, which I think helps with holding everything in. The shape of the cups is truly bizarre, but it seems to hold my breasts in place remarkably well, which is the key feature in a sports bra. Read more 108 more words
VERY supportive. The band is very snug (in a good way- but if you're between band sizes, I recommend you round up instead of down for this one) and the cups are very full coverage. I tried jumping up and down in it as soon as it came in the mail and my breasts barely bounced!
As many reviewers have mentioned on various sites, it is a bit pointy. It's kind of a retro silhouette, but I still feel comfortable about the shape it gives me.
There is a little problem with wrinkling at the bottom of the cups, but it's very minor and barely visible. It doesn't seem to ...effect the support at all.
For people who are short like me, you should be aware that the straps don't tighten as far as might be ideal. I tightened them in all the way to see if it would help with the aforementioned wrinkling, and they didn't go quite far enough. (I wouldn't want to wear it fully tightened anyway- too much strain on the shoulders- but once it stretches it might become a problem.)
The biggest problem I have with this bra is that the underwire doesn't lie flat on the sternum, but I think that might be intentional, as with many sports bras. It doesn't poke my chest or look strange, though. And there is definitely no quadraboobing!
All in all, I'm very happy with this purchase and I think it'll really help me step up my exercise routine!
Update as of February, 2013: I sent the bra back a couple days after I posted this. The problems I noticed just got bigger, and I found after I wore it for a while that the side support dug into my ribs painfully- all of the weight of my boobs was concentrated in the bottom front and sides of the band instead of all around the band. I think I needed a cup size up, but they don't make it in 30HH. Read more 219 more words
The band is very tight. Order at least a size up from your normal Freya band size. I measure 28.5 inches/72cm around my underbust and I can barely close the bra on the loosest hooks.
The cups on the other hand run small. I have an Arabella in 30GG that's a little big in the cup and this 30H is still slightly too small. On the other hand, there are 4 by 4 sets of hooks.
It feels supportive but there is still some jiggling. It's fine for elliptical/treadmill though.
The shape is very pointy, but that's ok for a sports bra. The pointiness is somewhat reduced when you wear a shirt over it.
The band on this bra is nice and firm, which I would expect from a sports bra. I normally wear either a 32E or a 30F, depending on the particular bra and how firm its band is, so I opted for a 32 band in this bra, and I'm glad I did; it's very firm. I was, however, surprised to find that the cup definitely runs 1 size too small. I tried on the 32E, and after I finished scooping all of my breast tissue into the cups, I had cleavage and double boob. I sized up to a 32F and the fit is perfect. Even when I jump around, nothing moves. I have never had a sports bra like this before. Also, I look like I have two distinct boobs, rather than monoboob, like you get with compression bras. Excellent support and comfort.
I'm officially giving up on this model. I owned it briefly in UK 32E (my usual size) and it was too small in cups. This one is one cup size bigger but still too small. Fits like 34C/D in Wacoal sizing. And the padded strap doesn't sit right on my shoulder because I'm low set. Maybe my expectations are wrong? I thought it would be possible to fit inside the cups with some kind of separation but this is more like a firm tank top with uniboob. Anyway, this is listed for sale if anyone is interested.
The wires are too wide at the inner gore and around the underarm. It also has shallow cups, which is why the gore doesn't tack perfectly for me. However, for working out, I'm more than satisfied because it keeps my chest in place for high impact exercise. It looks good on, but it's not practical for anything other than working out.
Excellent quality sports bra. No jiggle during yoga, in the weight room, or on runs. No gaps or quadraboob-- perfect fit for me. I'm fairly projected and have tall and broad roots, so it's hard for me to find a full coverage bra that fits. This is definitely full coverage for me and I love it. The only downside is that it is VERY tight (as an active bra should be) so it's fairly uncomfortable to wear throughout the day/ restricts breathing.
I thought I bought this bra in UK30E but now that I´m adding it to Bratabase, I see that it is UK 30DD and EU 65E! No wonder the cups were tad too small!! To correct this I took the wires off completely. I estimated that the bra is sturdy enough that the fit wouldn´t be badly affected and I was right.
The band is ok for me although I usually lean against 28. It feels ok when wearing, no funny things going on. It still creates a perky uplifted shape even with no wires. The shape is affected a little bit because of the non-wireness but it still works its job and is comfortable to wear.
This bra got accidentally added twice. After I first added it and filled out all the info, the site seemed to have lost it so I re-added it for the listing....
This bra fits pretty well. It's tight, but it's a sports bra, and I think the 28G might have been too big. This bra has a very tight band and fits more like a 26, and the band doesn't have a lot of stretch. As with the Panache sports bra, I sized down a cup size. I don't like this one quite as much as the panache, for a few reasons. First, the Freya cups are thinner, so my nipples show a bit. The cups are also a bit stretchier, so I get more bounce, whereas I get practically none in Panache. That said, this bra is quite supportive. I tried wearing it all day, but it was a bit much and I took it off before the day was up. It's fine for a few hours, though. I also find this bra gives me a splayed, east/west look. I prefer a more streamlined front profile. My breasts are narrow and projected with very soft tissue.
Well, this is quite an odd bra. It's my first proper sports bra - I used to wear a too-small cotton wireless from Tescos when I ran, which kind of worked as a compression bra - and maybe it's just because I'm not used to sports bras, but I do find it a weird fit. It was on sale though so I went for it... It's also a size too small, an F cup might work better for me, so that explains some of the issues I experience with it - e.g. the gore doesn't tack, and the cups cut in at the top, causing minor quad boob ...- because they're cut pretty tall it's not to bad, but if the cups were shorter the incline would be a big problem for me
Onto general construction of the bra - the spacer foam is comfy and lightweight, but it doesn't hide my nipples, which is something to consider if you want something you can wear without a top over it. I probably will wear it on its own because life's too short, but ideally I'd like some more coverage there. The wires are extremely wide and I get a very, very east west look on this bra, and flattening of profile - it's shallow and wide basically. The wires are firm, but I don't feel like I get a lot of support from this bra - possibly because the wires are too wide? It's an encapsulation bra, but I don't feel encapsulated, if that makes sense. This is obviously partly due to the gore not tacking too - but I'm not sure if going up a cup size will help - the even wider wires would be too much of an issue. But it was cheap so it'll have to do for now! Read more 195 more words
In this bra my saggy boobs seem much more flattier than they really are. It's the opposite of "sexy". But - this is also the best swimsuit I ever had. You can jump to/in water, make somersaults, swim fast (crawl, butterfly), dive - fabric practically doesn't move [tested]. Plus, if you'll accidentally drown there'll be no problem with finding your body with this flashy colours :]
I have projected, pendulous breasts and generally prefer lightly padded styles in bras, so this Freya Active Moulded Sports bra seemed really promising. It is underwired, which is an absolute necessity for me in a sports bra. For ladies with a need for wide wires, this might be lovely. Because of those wide wires I found my narrow-rooted breasts flattened, and the lack of cup depth (minimizing effect) meant that my tissue was squished out of the tops of the cups. I also have an issue with some tissue being almost pinched between the wing and strap in snug sports bras, and this bra ...aggravated that complaint. I found the inner construction of the bra a little weird with compressing fabric at the margins of the cups, which might be useful for some but with my soft tissue created some strange in-cup quadding. The straps are partially adjustable, and although elastic, are super stiff and strong for support. I did not test out the racerback hook but it has one if that's important to you. This feature could be difficult to engage onself as there is a little bump on the hook for retention of the loop, but that requires the loop be flipped around completely (so straps are effectively atop one another, right-sides facing) to slide it in. Finally, this bra passed the bounce and run-in-place test without allowing my breasts to move all about, but fitting as it did this was too uncomfortable to sustain for more than a minute. I got this bra about two weeks ago and have worn it once or twice around my room, but I waited on a review because I hadn't worn it to the gym until today.
Pros: It's pretty comfortable. This is likely because its actually the right size for me (I finally decided that it was time to retire my 34E Shock Absorber bra). The band fits true to size (or close enough). I haven't measured it yet so I can't say if it measures exactly 32 or not, but I don't feel like I need to size up or down. While the gore doesn't tack, it doesn't poke me either ...so I think that's a pro. The color scheme is nice. I really like the bright blue on the straps because it makes it feel a little less boring.
Cons: Everything else. The straps adjust short enough, but just barely. I'm 5'9, so if I have to my straps as tight as they go, that's probably a really bad sign for most people The cups are way to wide. The underwires sit at the very back of rib cage. I guess that this eliminates the issue of the wires poking my armpits because they're so far behind them, but it is definitely not ideal. To go along with the wires being to wide, the arm holes are set too far apart for me. So while the straps are actually not too wide for me, there is a lot of fabric on the outsides of the straps that rub my arms (the straps aren't at the edge of the cup). I also really don't like the shape that it gives me. Instead of keeping them centered, it kind of creates a splayed shape. This is a pain when running because my arms are bumping my boobs around every time I bring one forward. In addition to placing all of my breast tissue in a prime location to be bumped, it also doesn't do a very good job of minimizing bounce. It is definitely not a good choice for high impact activities.
Overall, this bra looks nice and thats about it. Unfortunately the only other two sports bras I own at the moment are a 34E and 32FF though, so this one will have to be a keeper for now.
Edit: I'm just going to edit this to mention some measuring technicalities. The first is that the band is not nearly as tight as the measurements make it appear. The wires are just very flexible, so they start to distort with very little pressure. The second is that the straps are tapered. I measured them about at the middle, but they measure about 3cm where they attach to the cup and about 2cm where they attach to the elastic part. Read more 350 more words
Ive bought this one together with one of my Decos. When i was taking measurements, the band seemed to be really tight, but when on, I could easily close it on 2nd set of hooks. The bra is extremly soft, the straps are wide. However, it has very long vires and is too wide. I would love to have this one in smaller size, but I think that the wires still will be an issue.. Actually I could wear the bra as it hold breast really good, but I have some space inside and as mentioned previoulsy, i need narrower wires.
This was the first bra I owned that I could jump in. https://d28qt14g3opchh.cloudfront.net/smileys/icon_smile.gif" alt=":)" /> I hate running, but it is a nice feeling to be ABLE to run without your arms crossed over your chest. The band is not super stretchy and even felt a little uncomfortably tight to start off with. It took some time adjusting to, but the support is excellent. When I jump there is some very small movement of breast tissue, but it feels totally natural (like how your thigh muscles/fat move in response to the impact of jumping) and not at all uncomfortable. I suppose you could also ...compare it to how much your breasts would move if you held them up with your hands and jumped-- they're not totally immobile and there is a little natural peripheral movement, but they're still supported and not bouncing all over the place.
I've had this bra for a long time, and I can't remember if the gore never fully tacked (it currently fits at bottom only) or if that is the result of my size changing over the years. Regardless, there's still no quad-boob on my larger side, even when I push the gore in, and it does its job. I'm totally held up and in, and unlike any other combination of bras I ever wore for exercise before finding a quality bra like this, it gives me two distinct boobs instead of a uniboob. I love it for that. The wires are the widest I have ever seen, and it does give my breasts a very wide shape, but for a sports bra I suppose you would expect them to be held a little closer to the chest than projected out (my preference for day to day appearance). I'll take two wide boobs over a uniboob any day.
I only wear this for exercise (dance class, zumba, cardio machines at gym) or around the house/on laundry day because I don't find the shape attractive and the center seam on the cup is visible through a lot of my shirts (unfortunately including a thin wicking exercise shirt- which now gets used for only in-home exercise). This Freya Active sports bra works very well. The band fits tight, like a sports bra should, and my boobs feel comfortable while working out. I don't even really notice I'm wearing it while exercising. The very top of the cup/bottom of the strap doesn't fit exactly flat against the skin, but I barely notice it. I've had this bra for a couple of years (sports bras last longer since you don't wear them as often) and it's still in very good, almost near-perfect shape.
This is my most comfortable and supportive bra. Perfect for working out in. The band is so snug that I have to hook it on the last set of hooks, which I rarely do. The wires are wide enough, and the cups are almost perfect. I think they are just a bit shallow for me; I might be better off with a 38FF but I don't mind a sports bra to be a little on the tighter side.
