The most comfortable bra I have in my arsenal right now, very tight to start with, after wearing three times, I can wear without extenders, broke in really quickly. Now I am on the second row out of four. a tad small in the cup, but not noticeable.
Very tight band--probably would best fit someone in the 26GG/H range, possibly even entering 24 territory. Unstretched band is 23 inches, stretches to 27 inches max. and has four rows of hooks to get nice and tight. I'm impressed by the encapsulation, but not so enamored of the shape it gives me--prepare yourself for cone-boobs! The cups on this are slightly too large for me so it’s hard to tell how good the support is. The top of the cups comes up to my collarbone, and digs in a bit at the underarm, but my breasts are a bit high-set so that's not unusual. The straps are a bit wide-set in the back, and don't have a cross-back/hook option. The straps are also only half-adjustable. Fabric is extremely lightweight, so this would be good for hot climates/backpacking options.
Not the right cups size, gore doesn't lie flat making the band feel too tight but if the cups were larger the band would be a comfortable tightness as this is supposed to be tight to give activity support. Has a pointy shape due to shape of cups
An extra good thing about this one is that these have 4 rows of 4 hook sets so would in theory last a bit longer as it stretches from wear and also extra hook to give more support (as opposed to a 3 hook)
Have to return though because the cup size is too small for me
If Bravissimo Dotty Spot were a sports bra… or I hardly ever wore a more pointy bra. Also those wires are super super wide. They are even too wide for me! I have lots of empty space on the sides but not enough space on top-center! This causes quadboob and gore floating 3 cm away from my sternum! Also – honestly – I don’t think that these wires are strong enough anyway… I might could try a 34K but the wires will be even wider and the bra won’t give any support anymore. If it weren’t just for the pointy shape, I wouldn’t mind, but the whole construction is just so wrong for my boobs! –--- sent back asap
Love this bra! So comfy, and I don't bounce at all! Great thick foam in the cups, gives my boobs a great texture. BF says its like a wrist rest on a mouse pad. Compliment? I think so. Has ADJUSTABLE racer back hooks! Can slide up and down the straps. Have never seen this before in a sportsbra! It's always fixed. I wear this in racerback form to give my bad rotater cuff in my shoulder a break. Would love a second one of these in black!
I love my seven freya sports bras. If I could wear them under everything, I would. I have them in a number of sizes as I'm changing shape a lot right now.
I've read fantastic reviews about the Freya Active sports bra, but as soon as I tried it in 34F (my usual Freya size is 32FF, but I went with the larger band size) the wires were way too wide for me. Sizing up in the band turned out to be great advice as it's not as stretchy as other Freya bras. Though, I couldn't get over the issue with the wires, so I couldn't keep this bra.
Love this bra, first bra-sized sports bra I ever owned. It is quite tight but no problem in a sports bra. I don't use this for anything high-impact, just for teaching yoga.
Still figuring out my Freya size -- I think I have to size down in the cups. These cups are ok, they don't wrinkle exactly but they are just not as firm as a sports bra's cups should be, also too wide, and I'd take a cups size down next time -- I don't think this would do for high-impact because of the loose cups. Also I think the too-big cups adds to the pointiness that others have pointed out. I super don't mind the pointy as I find it's way better than uniboob!
Straps WAY too short, had to take out the adjusters to have enough room to lengthen them which will suck when they eventually stretch out and I have to alter them again. I'm tall with a long torso and low-set breasts.
On paper, it looks like this fits. However, I think a 32GG would "fit" in the way that a sports bra is supposed to in order to provide the intended support. This one is fine on the 2nd set of 4 hooks, but I'd probably ratchet it down to the 3rd set for real activity if the cups were more firm. I went with the Freya instead of the Panache because I'd read several reviews about Freya's shorter underwires (and I'm 5'3" so that matters). Unfortunately, it's no more bounce-reducing in this size than a 32GG Deco, which looks a whole lot better on, so I'm going to send it back into the universe.
Ok. I was scared to size down this much but I guessed right. My normal size is a 36g. I tried a freya active in the sister size 38ff, and it was huge huge on my shape. Band was ok though...
Fast forward: found a 38E on ebay for $15 NWT so tried. Fits much better! (Think I am getting reverse letterophobia .... I don't like the sound of 38E nearly as much as 36g or 34gg)
Freya Active Underwired gives a fairly pointed shape, but I don't mind because it gives good support. The gore does not tack on me, but 2 sizes up didn't tack either. I am ...close set (like- only 1 underwire fits between), and this bra is looking for boobs with more separation. The wires run much wider than the normal freya wires, which is another reason I needed to size down. Encapsulation type bras push both up on the breast from below and down on the bra from above, so if you are very full on bottom or pancake shaped, you might want to size down too. Band seems tight enough sizing UP to me. Not stretchy like normal Freya.
Cons: don't love the nude color, the black is way cuter. But I suppose it could do double duty as a regular bra. I wish the straps were shorter or more adjustable. I am high set and I can tell I would get even more support if the straps were more snug. Read more 146 more words
In short, this bra is now a cup too small for me but I still wear it because it still provides great support while working out. I don't get that much of a pointed shape like some say that it gives.
It's a wirefree tankini. So basically like a wirefree bra, but you can go swimming in it.
This garment offers no support to my breasts. They are not compressed (I expected this to be a compression sports bra type). They are not encapsulated either. They're just hanging in there, squished together, like in one of my old wirefree nursing bras. The shoulder straps carry a lot of the weight, and because they go across my back, the weight is mainly on my lower neck area and I'm getting a serious headache now. When I move, my boobs move. I can't imagine doing any kind of water sports in this ...tankini.
The hem of the tankini is too small for my hips and keeps hiking up to my waist. If the bra part
If you want your swim gear to cover your boobs, and look androgynous (but not make your boobs disappear), do get this tankini. That is, if you don't mind looking droopy outside the water. (Because, you know, while you're in, the water will carry your boobs. They might try to escape trough the neckline though.) Unless of course your hips are a lot bigger than your waist.
If you want your swim gear to keep your boobs from going all over the place when you actually exercise in water and/or on the beach - buy something else. Read more 118 more words
Things I love: 4 hooks on band (x4 rows!). Great look. My favorite thing of all: there is a little J hook on the strap adjuster that converts to/from racerback!!! Love the idea of a racerback sports bra I can actually get over my boobs. And because the straps aren't fully adjustable like most freyas (due to wide comfy straps) it lets me compensate for too long of straps. (I am high set). Also, there is done sort of internal boob hammock in addition to the underwires... I think it is to keep breast up and away from ribcage/let the inframammary ...fold breathe to help with sweat? Nice and cool.
Unfortunately, this bra was too big in the cups for me. Which was a surprise- my 36g freya bras are small in the cup. I sister sizes up as I heard the band ran snug (and it does). But it seems like maybe 2 cup sizes too small? (So maybe I need a 38E? That can't be right...will poke around with sizing). Or possibly a 36F. I think the size surprise might be because most of the cup volume is lateral in the bra, where most of my breast volume is very very central? There are major wrinkles sides of cup and some under. So I can't vouch for bounce-a-bility with this too big bra https://d28qt14g3opchh.cloudfront.net/smileys/icon_sad.gif" alt=":(" />. Read more 141 more words
I have no idea why Freya thought their sports bras needed to have the widest wires in existence. Fit is so off because the wires are so wide. It's still pretty good for support though, so if you don't mind the wide wires and probably floating gore from said wires, this bra is a decent sports bra option.
Wires are way wide for me. I've got some empty space on the sides, and my smaller breast doesn't fill it out as nice. The underwires sit on breast tissue where the gore is. I'm not a fan of the pointy shape either, it's only due to the seams of the bra.
Even with all the poor fitting issues the bra really does work. It definitely eliminates any bounce. I'm free to run as hard as I want without any pain!
