It is hard to get on since the band is very short and the 4 hooks make putting this on a workout by itself. I always wear it with the J hook on which also makes it a chore to get off.
The cups are very tall and and does a good job reducing bounce. I've taken it out for light running and elliptical machine. It's good that the underwires don't go all the way up inside the channel on the sides because I don't feel any poking under long periods wearing this.
I got this because it was on sale at Nordstrom, but really I'd need a 34G. The result with this is that my boobs touch each other a bit inside the bra but it isn't terrible.
The memory foam is quite nice. I keep grabbing my boobs when I have this on! https://d28qt14g3opchh.cloudfront.net/smileys/icon_razz.gif" alt=":P" />
I have the "beige" version, which is pretty bland.
I love the bright colours! This sports bra is comfortable, and the band is nicely tight.
Just one thing : why do all the Freya's sports bras always have some pink in their colour scheme? I like the Panache bras for the colours a lot more, but unfortunately, the shape is not for me..
This sports bra is well built, it's really supportive and looks good. The downside - I'm sure that I'm not the only one to complain - is that it is quite odd to put on as the racer back part is in one part and doesn't open. But nothing impossible once you understand how to put it on!
Unfortunately, I've lost a lot of weight and the band is now way too big for me, therefore not supporting anything..
So. I bought this bra when I was a 34 band (I am now a 30 (See edit)). I ordered two bras, this one and the curvy kate princess bra both as 34FF. The princess fit perfectly (it was like embracing your true love) and the freya bra was waaaay to small in the cups. Fast forward to now, the cup size is still one or more too small but it's not uncomfortable. The bra feels very secure and comfortable. I was thinking about listing it but are now considering hanging onto it because it's pretty nice. I have not run with it yet(EDIT 1-18-16: Through the ups and downs of my breast size, I ran a ragnar with this 34FF bra AND IT WAS AMAZING. No chafe, no ride up, LOVE it for running! I am unsure of my exact size currently but this bra is nearly it.) Breast separation is nice.
The Freya Active Under-wired Sports Bra (4002) is the ONLY sports bra that I've tried that contains the girls! I've jogged and even done jumping jacks in this bra. Now I'd be lying if I said that there was no movement, but I always felt supported and comfortable. The one complaint I have is that it squeaks sometimes. The noise has decreased over time so it is my hope that eventually it will go away completely. With headphones in or during loud group fitness, I don't notice it. I definitely recommend this one!
This bra is the wrong size for me, so I'm not entirely sure how it would fit in the correct size, at some point I'll buy a 34FF that I need. It is a really comfortable, nicely shaped, supportive bra. The J-hook adds extra support when needed, and the encapsulation cups do a nice job of keeping everything in place.
Another bra failure. I was told to sister size up in this bra but I think I should have tried a cup size smaller. This bra is a horrible fit for me. It's too wide, too short, and overall too big in the cup. I'd recommend this size to someone who wears a 28FF in most bras. The band is tight and has four sets of hooks to move through, so I'm glad I went for a 30 not a 28, but it still doesn't matter because it's too bigg!! It's also very pointy, but using rounded nipple covers/inserts would decrease the pointedness in someone who this fit. At least it looks well constructed and is comfortable even though it's a horrible fit.
I ordered the pink and yellow colored one and it is pretty. However the wires run so wide on this and also run shallow. The center gore meets in the middle in a pyramid shape so that it is away from my body and my boobs actually slip under the underwire, but not the bra since it is a crop.
Ideally, Freya needs to make the underwire narrower, and material more projected. I need wide underwires but this was just ridiculous. Thank goodness for free returns.
If you are going to buy this bra, go up in a band size AND a cup size. This band is extremely tight! I can get it fastened but it is way to tight to comfortably work out in and breathe at the same time. And if you use a heart rate monitor like me? Forget about it. The gore didn't tack at all, but that was probably because the cups were at least a full size too small. If This bra fit I think it would be a great workout bra. It is a very sturdy fabric, double lined so you couldn't see any nipple through it. The wires were pretty sturdy which may or may not be a good thing. I might try an extender and see if I can make it work that way since I spent so much on it.
I really wanted to like this bra since the color (pink/green) is really pretty and it has the option of a racerback. Unfortunately, it doesn't seem to be a good match for my FOB very projected breasts. I found that both with and without the racerback hooked the bra didn't give me any significant support. Just bouncing up and down a bit allowed my breasts to bounce significantly. It also gave me a very east-west look that I don't like. Also, hooking up the racerback made the straps very uncomfortable kind of bunched up. The center gore didn't come near to tacking which meant that my breasts weren't really encapsulated.
This bra is great at reducing the degrees of freedom of my breasts, nothing's moving, and that's the most important thing in a sports bra.
That being said, it does give a funny "pointy" shape because of the seam across the middle. It runs smaller in the cup and wider in the wire than my other Freya bras, so it wasn't exactly what I was expecting.
The shape of this bra is a disaster for my full-on-top breasts. The center gore does not come close to lying flat, even though when I push it to my sternum, there is no quad-boob. The shape is also downward-pointy, which I wouldn't care about in a sports bra, if it did the job, but sadly, it does not control the bounce. The search for the right sports bra continues...
This bra gave only very slight bounce control for my fob, wide boobs - I only had to jump slightly and there was significant movement - way too much for me to even consider running or jogging in it.. I'm very disappointed as it has such good reviews ;( I also tried it in a 32G and 34F just to be sure - same story..
I don't like this bra as much as I liked my old Panache sports bra, but it does its job. In terms of bounce reduction, it works very well. But there are some issues when it comes to fit and comfort. The band is very firm, but I can still fasten it comfortably - however, if I gained any weight around my ribs I'd need to go up a size. The cups are also extremely wide. Again, this is not a problem for me, but I'd recommend avoiding this bra if your breasts have a narrower root. The other problem I have with it is that the sides of the cups are very high under my arms, and can dig into my armpits uncomfortably when I reach forwards. The centre gore also doesn't quite tack for me. This doesn't seem to be a problem with the cup size, but rather an issue with the shape of the wires versus the shape of my sternum. It doesn't seem to be a problem in terms of the function of the bra.
It is my home bra. I was using it as a sports bra at first, but since I had a fractured clavicule, it is, along with strapless bras, my only comfortable and wearable bra. I guess the padded shoulder straps have a lot to do with this. Weirdly, I never really noticed when I used it for my yoga, but now, it is like a miracle.
I love the blue/orange colour, and would love more colours of this one, but have found the new ones too girly/pinky to my taste. Would love a bright green, orange or blue,.. without pink!
