Simply the wrong shape for me. Cups are too high for me, I don't have breast tissue that high up. No gaping at the top though, just minor empty space in the cup.
Straps fairly wide, gore very low and is trying to stab me, only one hook in the back which might be an issue for larger busted ladies - doesn't bother me as such. Band is too wide on me even in the tightest hook, I'm a 26 band. Band is not very stretchy.
Nice lightly padded bra for every day, bottom part of the cup is slightly textured, bows on the gore and straps are very cute, band has little cut-outs in the back. Seams are definitely visible though light tops.

So, the Marvel and I don't get along very well. It's a shame. The cups are way too small and shallow, there are wrinkles along the wires and I quadboob even on my smaller breast (which is barely a G cup), and if I sized up - I'm thinking I'd need two sizes up - the wires would poke me in the back.

However, there are some things I love about it. The band is a whole lot firmer than most Freyas, and it feels fantastic. I bought the 'Nude' (ugh) option because I wanted something unlined to wear under white/sheer tops. It's a lovely golden-y skintone colour with a lighter mesh band along the top of the cups (which could possibly be visible under clothes, I'm not sure.)

I'm really sad it doesn't work on me, because it's a simple but pretty bra which I would spend many happy days with if it only fit me better.

I really really want to love this bra. I really really do. The band is nice and firm, the silhouette is gorgeous, and the bra itself is beautiful. The cups just don't fit right, though (I'm not even sure what the issue is--maybe shape issue?) and the cups rub under my arms https://d28qt14g3opchh.cloudfront.net/smileys/icon_sad.gif" alt=":(" /> For someone FOT and maybe with wider roots, I imagine this would be great.

Runs large in band and cup--fits like a tight 30F, or a really loose 28FF. Decently narrow wires. Scratchy band and mesh.

Unpadded Freya plunges (Arabella, Totally Tartan Plunge) want very centered, projected-in-the-middle, kind of full-on-top breasts, and they don't look right if your nipples can't line up with the pointy part in the cups.

Not good for projected-on-bottom, shallow-on-top breasts. The lace was obvious through loose t-shirts because it was so oversized on top.

  5. Deco Moulded Half Cup Bra (4232)

Well it looks like I've finally found a Deco that will work for me! I normally wear a 30DD, and after hearing that Deco cups run large, I ordered this in a 30D. The wires are a little shorter and narrower than I'd like, but nothing to disqualify it from being a good fit. This bra would work well for anyone with shallow tissue. The bra is largely unembellished, save for a few little bows. The cups do have non-removable padding, which fills about 2/3 of the cup. This seems like a great option for everyday wear when you want a little extra oomph. My sole concern with this bra is that with all that padding, the cups don't offer much coverage. My breasts have even fullness, and my areolas are *just* covered by the top of the cups. So the slightest bit of shifting in the cups, and things might start to show. So far it hasn't been an issue, but we'll see what happens with a full day of wear!

The Deco really is as bad as i thought it would be for my shallow, conical breasts. I thought ordering it in my smaller size (28D, I am sized at 28D/DD) might work. Or maybe I was just curious how bad it would be for me.

My breasts are very firm and the band is very stretchy, so they just pushed the bra away from me and caused it to gape horribly, even though the cups were too small and my breasts were escaping into the band. Not a good look.

The cups really are quite tall in this size, and the wires really are quite narrow. This bra would work for you if you have tall breasts that need narrow wires. You also need significant upper/inner fullness to fit well in this bra, or at least breasts that will act full there in a bra.

I have very soft, malleable, liquidy, not very full boobs, that seem to be more on the full on top side. I wear a 30FF in Freya padded Half Cups (Ivy, Piper, JFI Longline, Lauren Halfcup) with a teeny bit of gapping, and I pop out of a 30F Deco Halfcup. All if these give me a nice, rounded, slightly upward-pointing and slightly projected, full look.

I got this bra by accident during a figleaves order and figured it wasn't worth the money to return it. I had ordered a Lauren padded Half Cup in white, in 30FF, and realized I would do better with a 30F and ... changed it with customer service before it was shipped. Unfortunately, they misunderstood, and I got a Plunge instead, which I already knew would not work for my boobs.

And I was right. To begin, my boobs aren't 'tall' enough to fill out the upper parts of the cups properly. Second, my FOT boobs give the cut an unattractive, downward pointing, tiny looking coneboob. The underwires are a good inch too wide for my ridiculously narrow boobs too. My boobs, being so light and liquidy, aren't heavy enough or full on bottom enough to give the bra the shape it could give someone else. The underwires are not the right shape, being too 'U' shaped at the bottom for me to fill out.

TLDR; my boobs are the problem. Any bra with the 1 vertical seam never works for me.

    Pros:
    - Comfortable
    - Great shape under clothes
    - Wide straps offer good support
    - Good cleavage

    Cons:
    - Band has stretched out quite a bit since purchasing and is now a bit too large. I measure 26 inches around my ribcage. This black bra seems to be smaller than my purple Deco however, as black bras often run smaller.
    - Centre gore doesn't quite lie flat against my sternum. Again, this is probably because I really need a 26G.
    - The cups can gape a little at the top after I've worn it for a while. This isn't major but it can look a bit funny under some clothes. When trying this bra on in ... the store (Brava in Australia) I asked the assistant if it would be worth sizing down in the cup and she said that the issue isn't that the cup is too small, but rather that the straps are too wide for my narrow shoulders and so they are closer together than the bra is designed for them to be and thus distort the shape of the cup. I think it might also have something to do with the band being slightly too big and riding up in the back a tiny bit.

Despite these issues, this is the best fitting bra I have owned so far, and I wear it on an almost daily basis. It's comfortable and looks good under clothing.

EDIT: Having lost some breast volume recently, this bra is now definitely too big for me in the cups. It is also even bigger in the band. It gapes significantly at the top, and is only really wearable under tops/dresses that hold it down. My purple deco in the same size is even bigger and really isn't wearable at all. This is such a shame as I love the shape given by these bras! I have a non-wired deco and a strapless deco on the way, both in a 28F, so I'm hoping those will fit! I will most likely order an original deco in a 28F at some point, as well as the half-cup style in a 28F.

EDIT 2: I have received the strapless and wire-free decos in 28F now. The wire-free is great, and the strapless is a weird fit though it is wearable. Without the straps on, it gapes at the top outside edges of the cups, though the centre gore won't lie flat. I will order an original deco in 28F soon and review!

EDIT 3: Back on the pill, boobs have grown again, now a great fit! Though I do get a little gaping after a day's wear mostly because the band rides up...

  10. Deco Shape Moulded Strapless Longline Bra (1462)

As a (regularly) 28GG/H gal, I have had massive trouble finding a strapless/multiway bra and a longline that fits well. This bra killed two birds with one stone - I now have a workable strapless/convertible bra that is also a longline, so I am happy with this bra

Technically, I am sized out of my preferred size, but the band on the 30G is snug enough that on the smaller set of hooks, the bra stays up through even the most enthusiastic jumping jacks, and I can comfortably wear it on the larger hooks with straps or for less active pursuits. The cups on the ... 30G are also generous enough to easily contain my usually 28H boobs. I have a lot of projection but a thin layer of tissue right up to my clavicles - many strapless bras are simultaneously too shallow and cut in at the top - this one doesn't have either problem, though it could use a tiny bit of extra projection right at the bottom.

This bra has two different positions for the multiway straps, both front and back. I find that many bras in my size have their straps set further apart that the average shirt, so it is nice to have the option of a narrower setting. The cups have a nice sling in the cups, I presume to help prevent boobs from sliding the cups east-west.

While this bra fills a very important niche in my wardrobe, and as a result I am happy with it, it nonetheless has some downsides:

    * The floral detailing on the front, which seemed like a really neat detail on the promotional pictures, looks washed out and almost like accidental staining in person. The bra itself is also less of a yellow-cream, and instead an ivory/off white

    * Like many Freya bras, the quality of materials and contruction did not impress me in this bra. The cups on my brand-new bra already have a couple tiny snares, the straps are simple satin elastic and are very slippery, and the front of the band curls up.

    * For reasons unknown, this bra only has 2 columns of hooks. Since I bought a band size up from my usual, I am on the smallest right off the bat, but even in a properly fitted bra, I would prefer 3+ rows.

This bra gives a nice, uplifted, natural shape. With many unlined bras I end up with a very pointy shape, but this one is round enough for me to feel comfortable in. The material itself is also very comfortable. My breasts are close set and full on the bottom, and the center gore on this bra is low enough to tack without sitting on my breast tissue. The lace up top also sits nicely, but there's enough stretch to it that I think it might work well for women with more upper fullness, too.

I think this bra is the bee's knees in concept; I just wish it were a little nicer. For a wireless, the shape, support, and cleavage are fantastic. I love the plain, almost-androgynous look of the bra, if that makes sense. I wish I had tried the 28G for comparison: if I tighten the straps too much, there is minimal quadboob on my larger side, but it's not noticeable under clothing and it does help the cleavage, doesn't it? Because it's wireless, the weight of your breasts does tend to create a fold in the bottom of the cup, but I don't think that can ... be helped; similarly, the gore will not touch your sternum, but it can't.

The main issue I've had with the bra is that the inside seams get terribly itchy and uncomfortable if the bra is worn for more than a few hours. I'm hoping it'll improve with time, but for right now I only wear the bra when I'm lounging around the house or when I'm going out-out and need epic cleavage.

I appreciate that the band is much firmer than the regular plunge Deco, which I've tried in charcoal and black. It's more of a true 28.

Edit: I sent this bra back to Bravissimo to have the inside seams investigated for a fault. Apparently they were abnormal, so I've just received a replacement. It's certainly more comfortable, but not the godsend I was hoping for. This is such a disappointment to me because I love the bra's look, shape, and support. Hopefully it'll improve once it's been washed a few times....

    • Hi Bananaboats, I'm wondering how you got on with the seams after some washes? I have just bought it and founds the seams at the side painful, I'm hoping that washing will help because I love everything else about the bra.

    • theddplusreview: I've never been fully satisfied with the comfort of the bra's seams. It's so frustrating. I rarely wear the bra anymore, and when I do I put tissue along the bottom seams when I'm going to be in it for longer than a few hours. It's not an elegant solution at all, and I really hope Freya improve the make of the bra in future!

    • Thank you for letting me know Bananaboats, I think I'll send it back in that case, I wanted it to work so much but it's not worth keeping it if it's going to end up in the back of a drawer!
