The band on this bra doesn't feel as stretchy as on most of my other Freya bras, but it's not tight enough to need an extender. Apart from that it fits pretty well, and if the wire was just a little bit longer on the side, I would have no criticism to make of it at all.
The underwires on this bra are slightly longer than on the Freya balconette-plunges, which is ideal for me as I often find that the wires are not quite high enough on the sides. I could actually have them two inches higher again and still not be stabbed in the armpit! The cup fits perfectly on my larger side, but even with the strap tightened, there is still a small amount of gapping near the centre gore on my smaller side. Luckily it doesn't show, even under a tight T-shirt.
A very pretty bra and a pretty good fit for me too. I can easily forget I'm wearing it. The band was not too tight initially, and it does not seem to have stretched out much yet either. I would like it even better if the wires were slightly longer - maybe an extra 1/2 inch - on the sides.
If this bra works with your shape, it's excellent! If it doesn't fight too much with your shape, it's still pretty darn good. (This used to be me, but I've lost weight & found that sister sizing down didn't work for me - the band gets smaller but the wires are just as wide so they end up way under my armpits.) Pros: It's a classic beige, smooth under 100% of tight/thin anything (as long as there's no gaping), well made, attractive, comes in a variety of colors (black is much tighter in the band than the beige), great gore height for low cut tops. Cons: Only 2 hooks (which is too thin on a shape like this one) and comes up quite high/tall on the sides, wires are wide and cups are shallow at the bottom.
Although I'm somewhere between a 32H/32HH (30HH/30J in Freya), when I heard it ran large I HAD to try this bra. Especially in the beautiful jade color. Unfortunately, this bra was a huge fail for me. First of all, the band was HUGE. Even on the tightest hook, it rode up like crazy and caused painful red marks under my boobs. Secondly, the straps were far too wide-set for me. As usual, I could not get my stubborn, bottom-heavy boobs to settle in the cups. There was almost 2 inches of space at the bottom, and the material seemed to buckle under the weight of my boobs, which left dents even after I took the bra off. I do agree with the consensus that this bra runs a little big, as I did not get much cutting in at the top.
I really like this bra. I started with a 28F or 28FF (those didn't work for me) and then bumped it up to a 28G and found it to be a pretty good match, but with a tiny bit of quadboobing on deep inhales. I went ahead and tried the 28GG and found it to definitely be too big. So, 28G it is! I've only been wearing it for about a week, so I haven't noticed any stretching out yet at this point. All in all, it's quite comfortable and no other complaints as far as fit is concerned.
This bra fits well in wire width, bottom of cups and band length. Basically everything is good except the top of the cups, which are waaay too big. My boobs are wide-root, shallow, full on bottom. I usually wear a 28B in other brands.
I have an old Freya Polyanna, which is a similar-ish shape, both are unpadded. The Polyanna fits me after I altered the top of the cups by stitiching in a horizontal fold / pleat to the lace at the top of the cups, which brings the cup tops down by about 2cm. This doesn't work on the Faye, as I think it has taller cups than the Pollyanna.
My Polyanna does tend to dig in at the top of the gore a little bit after wearing all day, but it's not too bad. I think the Faye would have the same problem.
A beautiful addition to my Freya collection. The fit is just as expected and I couldn't be more pleased with this bra. The colors are wonderful! It's extremely comfortable. If I had a complaint it would be that I can't wear it with a any shirt because of the seams, but that's minor and not really a bit of a bother.
I don't know what to say other than it's way too narrow. The band IS tighter than other Freya items in the same size, leading me to think Freya is sloooowwwlllyyy loosening it's band sizes. The color is good for a brown girl.
Was hoping this bra would work for me but it makes a really weird shape. My breasts are center heavy I guess and it looks like it leaves empty space at the sides (sides are too shallow?) even though the cup width is fine. Good for shallow breasts but I don't know what happened with this bra. Someone suggested that the seams were off a little.
Exactly like the Freya molded plunge, the cups are not very projected, orange in a glass. Very comfortable with a stretchy band and straps. Looks great under clothes
Isn't orange in a glass the opposite problem (i.e. too much projection)?
Not enough projection at the wire. The orange can't reach the bottom of the glass and gets "stuck" at the top of the cup
I think that's a different problem. Orange in a glass is that the wires are too narrow and the cup is too deep at the apex, so the wires are on breast tissue and the boob doesn't fill out the apex of the cup (getting stuck, like you said). Lack of immediate projection (depth at the bottom wire) produces wrinkling along the bottom - you could still fill out the apex of the cup (or not). I run into lack of immediate projection with nearly all of my bras so I get that wrinkling, but I'm narrow and projected enough overall to fill out the apex on pretty much anything in my size without any OIG effect. :)
This is the best fitting bra I own right now, initially discouraged by the sheer and unpadded cup, it's turned out to be a winner! I would highly recommend this bra to anybody who is FOB and narrow.
Pros
Looks cute Sturdy straps Band is well constructed and doesn't make me look lumpy Gives a great shape
Cons Some may not like that it's sheer Headlights can be seen when on https://d28qt14g3opchh.cloudfront.net/smileys/icon_razz.gif" alt=":P" /> Underwires poke me under the arm
This bra is practically brand new so the measurements I've taken shouldn't be too far from the new item.
This is one of the few Freya bras that are meant for people with shallow breasts broad roots! Yay! I like it. This is the best strapless/convertible bra I have ever tried. I am sure there are even better ones out there but this one so far is a winner. Also, this bra runs slightly small in the cup. If your regular size is 28DD, you might want to try 28DD and 28E just in case.
I tried the 38f first and it was all wrong - stretchy and gaping, but the 36ff works! Good cleavage - a small amount of gaping at the top corner on my smaller side and I need to make sure I'm all swooped and scooped or it doesn't work. Very comfortable - I have it in cobalt blue and also the pinstripe fuschia.
Very pretty bra in theory. However, I found the wide-set strap base unflattering to my shape, and I also found that the bra itself made my breasts look very wide and flat from the front.
I love the look this bra gives, with the perfect rounded breast top and a nice, smooth line at the top of the cup. However, the print on the bra isn't very appealing and I will be waiting for a cuter print to keep this bra.
I love the rounded shape this bra gives me but wish they made it in a 30H so that the fit was better on me. The band rides up a bit and I spill out of the cups, yet I still love her.
