Prior to reduction surgery, I owned a deco that did not work at all - my breast tissue just all migrated to the center with no support. However, post surgery, Deco is one of my favorite bras. The smooth cup is invisible under clothes, the firm band helps hold everything in place, and the separation is great.
The material on this bra was pretty much paper. It was very thin and light, so it would be good for summer, if you can get past the papery texture. If you're not used to unlined bras (like me), this would not make a good first step into unlined bras. You could see through the entire bra, and when I tried to put a shirt on over it, you could see the white lining through the shirt!
Shape-wise, it didn't work on this shallow girl. There were bad wrinkles from the tops of the cups and up, and I couldn't fill a cup that deep.
Nope nope nope, not for me. I'm shallow, and the cups on this bra gaped crazy bad at the top. And when I say "crazy bad," I mean that with my arms at my sides, I could look down and see half my breast uncovered. This simply doesn't work with a shallow shape.
Based on pictures I thought this bra may be teal, but it's much more like navy. The navy & white floral design is complimented by the small white and navy flowers in the brown area at the tops of the cups and on the straps. The ribbon details on the gore and straps are velvety. The seams on the cups haven't shown through any shirts I've tried with it so far.
This bra is adorable, comfortable, and flattering, and I'm going to get a lot of wear out of it!
Once I get used to wearing a snug band, this bra will do just fine. I am shallow, and I find the tops of the cups harder to fill on the Patsy than I do on the Freya Totally Tartan Padded Half Cup Bra (1423) (which is the same cut as the Freya Lauren Padded Half-cup (4821)). I'm personally not a fan of the lace border at the tops of the cups or of the ribbon at the gore (the latter of which I may remove). The polka dots are cute, but the off-white with the Peacock color is weird and looks almost dingy. The wires don't stab at either end, and the cup edge is comfortable under my arms. The only issue with showing through shirts comes from the vertical seams, which isn't an issue for me with the Lauren-cut styles. It's still worth keeping, and I'll get a lot of wear out of it!
I put this bra on, and angels started singing. After trying dozens of bras in and around my new size, this was the one.
I am relatively shallow for my size and have no fullness on top whatsoever, and I had been encouraged to try a Freya half cup style. It flatters my shape and is one of few bras on which I can fill the tops of the cups. It's so comfortable that I was able to wear it all day almost immediately.
There's a little bit that folds over the ends of the wires under the arms, which helps prevent stabbiness. It ...comes up to a perfect height under my arms; it contains what it needs to without cutting in where it shouldn't. The shape is flattering and looks good under clothes. The vertical seams haven't shown through any clothes I've worn with it. The gore is a good height and doesn't stab at me.
Once I get used to wearing bras in my actual size (thanks for nothing, VS), I will probably go down a band to a 30G, but I need to get used to my band carrying my boobweight first. I've been wearing this bra on the second hook from the beginning; it's true what they say about Freya bands, they're stretchy.
The fabric is opaque on the front, and feels almost more like swimwear than a bra. (Not uncomfortably so, if you're used to padded/lined bras as I am.) This bra fits me well enough that the difference in my breasts' sizes is obvious; to fix this, I slip in a liner pad thingy from an old Genie Bra on my smaller side, and then I'm good to go. It's totally invisible under the bra.
The pattern is fun. I have the denim color, which has a few different shades of blue mixed in with a bit of salmon. The straps are wide and comfortable, and striped with the darker blue color from the pattern.
When my arms are down by my sides, the fit on this bra is pretty nice. It is a great color and has a nice, rounded profile. However, when i lift my arms, the top of the bra gaps. I think this might be because my arms push the straps in when i move, forcing the solidly molded cup inwards as well. The straps are clearly too wide-set for my frame. But i think the cup might also be a bit big for me. I posted two side views to show the fit when my arm is up versus down.
Update: after substantially shortening the straps, the gapping problem is nearly eliminated. Probably need to go down one cup size now, but the bra style is still a bit high on the sides and wide set, so i will probably just try another style.
This bra is one of my favorites! It creates a nice round shape and the longline looks really slimming under clothes. I don't quite fill out the top of the right cup, but that is my smaller breast anyway. The other side is perfect. Unfortunately, there is no boning in the band to keep it from rolling up. For me, it's only an issue when sitting down. I am on my feet all day, so it shouldn't be a big deal. For someone who works a desk job, this would probably have to be a special occasion bra rather than every day.
Given as I don't actually own this bra, and wasn't wearing it for much more than a couple mins, this entry is mostly just to state that something actually fits me. It sure seemed comfortable to me, and the salesgirl was pointing out various signs of good fit, but it still seemed to me like there's a 'but' hidden in there somewhere. Regardless, this is the best fitting bra I've found so far, and using this as a starting point, I'm hoping to one day find that WOW fit.
This bra is a much better fit for a petite person than the regular deco, with the exception of the wide strap placement. I went up a full cup size due to the push up padding and I'm glad I did. The band feels firm enough to me and I did not need to go down in the hooks during the few months that I used this before I gained weight and outgrew it.
I also think this is a nice choice for my very soft breasts that tend to pour out of the center of plunges.
As you can see in the pictures that I added, ...I did my own alteration to remove the non-removable pushup padding from the left cup. I wanted to have a bra that would even out my asymmetry a bit for certain shirts and this alteration worked great! The depth in the altered cup is about 9.25" at the deepest point and the cup is softer and more flexible now. It does not hold its rounded shape quite as well as before. I will likely do it again in my new size, though certainly only with another discount or traded model. Read more 90 more words
Like many women, I am a big fan of the Freya Deco. When I saw it in the gorgeous Cobalt color, I knew I had to have it. I told my husband it was because the dress I bought for my birthday is also Cobalt, so it matches https://d28qt14g3opchh.cloudfront.net/smileys/icon_wink.gif" alt=";)" /> It's comfortable, supportive, and gives good cleavage. All things I like in a bra. Only thing that drives me nuts is that the material ALWAYS catches on my wedding rings when I am scooping & scooping myself into place. I try to be very careful with this particular one because the color ...is so pretty I don't want to damage it. Anyway, I always recommend the Deco, and this one is no exception. The deco is good for many shapes, but is especially good for those who are FOB (full on bottom) like me. To note: I bought this in a 32G because they were out of 30GGs (and of course Freya doesn't make 28H). I had it altered to a 30 (because the seamstress at Nordstrom did not know how to alter bras and she didn't want to listen when I asked for it to be tighter), but it ended up a bit loose. I'm going to have to alter it further. But note the band change when you read my info. Read more 122 more words
I needed a strapless bra for a wedding that I'll be in this summer. Since I like my normal deco, and the strapless version was on sale on amazon, I figured I would give it a shot. Upon receiving the bra I was really excited about the skinnier straps that it comes with, the ability to move the straps in the front of the cup, and that it had 3 hooks instead of 2. The inside has a silicon sort of plastic strips around he band to help make the bra stay put. All in all, an improvement over the regular deco...
Well. I then decided to take it ...for a little test run and wore it for 6 hours. My sides were aching by the end from the tightness of this bra. I had some serious red marks that took a long time to fade. Despite the tightness, I felt like the cup was true to size and fit well. There was a little gaping around the top sides but it wasn't so bad that it would require a smaller cup. I didn't feel like it slipped down at all, although I was sitting for most of the time. I never felt like I was going to fall out of it, or that the wires were too high. I was intrigued by the shorter wires that are in the underwire channel. The channels are an inch longer than the wires.
I think that with a small extender, this bra will be just fine https://d28qt14g3opchh.cloudfront.net/smileys/icon_smile.gif" alt=":)" /> Read more 151 more words
Tried on in Nordstrom. I loved how this bra looked on me, with nice cakes on plate type cleavage. The bottom was a touch to shallow for me. I can see that the bra may be pushed down throughout the day with wear because there was about a finger's width of space I couldn't fill. I do need some immediate projection and I'm more even to fuller on bottom so maybe it'll be good for those who are fuller on top or don't need as much projection right above the underwires.
For me, the fit is kind of odd; it seems to keep my boobs a lot more in the center than the rest of my bras do, and depending on how I sit/stand it goes from teeny-quadboob to a bit wrinkled at the top of the cup. It's a different shape than I'm used to, I suppose! I think the straps are also a bit wide-set, but they're very thick and comfortable, and ACTUALLY LONG ENOUGH. It's quite pretty overall, too!
The objective: the measurements I took are for the internal bra. The slip itself is 19.25" long from the top of the gore to bottom of the hem (size 32E). The bottom front and both the bottom and the top of the back band are lined in non-slip silicone type material. It comes with two sets of straps, one clear and one black. There are 8 total strap attachments, two on each side in the front and back.
The subjective: This may be the least flattering undergarment that I have ever worn. The cups are very wide and shallow and quite tall, and at ...least a full cup size small, if not two. Freya is my best fitting brand in mesh cups and 32E my regular size, and the gore was a good 1.5" away from tacking. And yet there was at least an inch of unused space at the bottom of the cup that was inaccessible due to the shallow depth.
The band felt spot on (I tried it backwards, due to the cup discrepancy). I was able to stretch it a bit long when measuring, but honestly, it felt nice and firm, and due to the grippy silicone stuff it was hard to get into place and didn't budge a bit, so I would not want to size down at all.
Lastly, the slip bit. It is a stretchy smooth material. Definitely not shapewear. Obviously much tighter than they show it on the ASOS and Nordstrom models (I am 5' and 118-120lbs in my pics for reference). Nice enough as you put it on, but it begins to ride up as soon as you move, creating bunches and wrinkles. There is no silicone or grip of any kind at the bottom of the slip to keep it from riding up, a fatal flaw, in my opinion!
To summarize: If you are have wide, shallow breasts and are very tall, then this could be your strapless cami!!! Otherwise, I think Freya has some work to do here. Read more 237 more words
Too narrow in the wires for me, and a little too closed on top (I wasn't able to fill the top of the cups enough to avoid a pointier shape in this bra). Great strap length and width though- I find a lot of the bras I've tried to be too short and widely spaced in that department, but these would have been perfect.
From the side picture the wires on this bra seem to be about 2 cups too narrow on you. Have you tried an E cup or one cup up?
