It brings my boobs together, creating a nice cleavage despite me being fairly wide set. The band felt very firm to start with, but now I've worn it for two weeks I can comfortably fasten on the middle hook. There is some funny wrinkling along the top of the band just before the cups start but this doesn't effect the fit at all.
The wings feel a lot lower than I'm used to, my previous deco was a 32GG, and had fairly high wings. As the cups fit perfectly I don't have any overspill out the sides though.
The thick straps aren't the prettiest I've seen, but they are very comfortable! I've found the thread started to pull on my old decos so hopefully the new one won't!
The colour is quite a pale nude, so if I'm wearing a thin white t-shirt the edge of the cups can be seen through the fabric. This isn't really a problem for me, but might be more obvious on people with darker skin tones.
Freya's Ivy Balcony Bra is really pretty, but was not a good fit for me. The band was a little loose and the top of the cup was very very loose. The bra fit well at the gore, the straps, and the band (mostly). I think my full on the bottom, shallow, and wide set breasts don't have enough on the top to fill this particular bra.
Love the color (black and pink). It feels sturdy. The lace at the top of the cup tends to dig in and make me look pointier and flat on top. So glad in comes in my size, though!
Fits about the same as other Decos I own, similar to the 32E that I shortened the band on. But I think that with Deco, a 30 might still be a bit too loose.
The underwire really digs in for me at the sides and bottom. The gore digs in and if I scoop and swoop really well...uni-boob attempts to happen and I just attempt to escape out of the cups. I really wish this fit since I love the design and colors but it's just too narrow for me and burns like crazy. I did try it in another size, wish I could remember (30DD maybe?), and it was fitting strange then too but can't remember exactly what was happening in that size.
The center gore is a little bit too wide; it pokes a little bit on the left (inside), but it's not bothering me much. This is a really nice looking bra, and overall I'm happy with the fit. The band seems somewhat snug on the loosest hook. The cups are a good fit when my posture is good.
So most people know that Freya tends to have pretty stretchy bands, but the longline aspect means this bra is still supportive even though the stretched measurement is a full 5" longer than my tight as possible underbust measurement (3" longer than my comfortably snug measurement).
I love the shape this gives me, I am not well endowed but under a tight tank top I think my breasts just look lifted and perky, although I wouldn't necessarily say it creates legit cleavage, which is fine by me.
The straps are a little too separated for me, but it isn't a big enough problem for me to return this bra, and ...the wires are too wide for me, but not by a ridiculous amount. The pattern is cute and I feel supported and confident about the size/shape of my breasts so it is a keeper for me, even if it doesn't technically fit perfectly.
I would also say this runs pretty true to size. Although up until now I have only bought 28E, I have started to experience quadboob in those bras due to tissue migration so I would say my "typical" size is now much closer to 28F (although my smaller breast does struggle to fill the cup without major scooping and swooping). I don't think there's any need to size up or down in cup or band for this bra from what you normally wear in Freya/Cleo. Read more 127 more words
I wanted this bra to work for me, but unfortunately it didn't. The cups were just too big--it wrinkled at the top a lot and on the sides a bit. Also, the center gore didn't lay flat. This would be probably be well-suited for someone who's full on top. I think maybe this model runs big in the cups for Freya, because I have a Freya bikini in the same size that fits me. I like how it looks and it seems supportive.
The band was verrrrry snug for the first week or so I wore it and then it loosened nicely. I have narrow shoulders, so the straps are kind of wide set on me, but not nearly as wide as some other brands I've tried.
That being said, my boobs look ah-mah-zing in this bra.
I love this bra, the print is so funky and I love the thick straps. The band seems very stretchy, but that seems standard for Freya. It works for me since I have a bony ribcage and am uncomfortable in very firm bands. The cups give more of a natural-pointy shape, not rounded, and I found that it was very minimizing. I had no cleavage at all but my breasts didn't feel like they were in my armpits either. I only wish that it was a 3-hook back instead of 2, but that's just my preference in bras.
Of course I wanted this bra to work. Have you seen it? The dolls!! But It did not work at all. Probably one of the worst fitting bras I've ever put on my body! haha But that's just me. I found the center gore to be way too high and I did not fill the top of the cups. It was quite ugly on me but I'm sure some further apart boobs that are full on top would look adorable in this bra. I have very round, fat, more bottom-heavy if anything-heavy, super duper close-set boobs and this was just the opposite of what I would fit in, ...so it must go.
Things to Note: Band seems the usual Freya style: not that tight new feeling. The cups are not sheer like you'll see a nipple through them (then again I am super light skinned everywhere so some dark nip'd ladies may beg to differ) but they are a white material and you know how white things are these days. But I personally did not show through and I was very pleased with that. Cup stitching was not itchy and the material is very smooth and slippery. Nice attention to detail as always. Straps are 3/4 inch wide and fully adjustable. Color scheme is a very calm teal/blue color, soft gold/light tan, and red on white. Read more 111 more words
Bit of background: I only recently started wearing my correct bra size, so I was used to a much looser band, and untacked gore, and basically a completely different bra feel. Still getting used to how bras should fit, so some of these comments may not apply to everyone.
From the beginning, I though this bra was beautiful and made my boobs look better than anything else I had ever tried. However, it was fairly uncomfortable, - the center gore digs into my sternum, and the underwires seem to be pressing uncomfortably against my ribs in a couple of spots. Also, because the straps are fairly wide set, ...and I have a small frame, I felt like the bra straps were in my armpits.
I had to gently bend the wires away from my chest at the gore, which reduced the pressing, and slightly curved them to fit my ribcage better. This made the bra more bearable to wear for longer periods of time, but didn't quite fix all of discomfort. What did though was correcting my posture. When I sit/stand up straight, with my shoulders back, I can barely feel the bra, and the straps are magically moved out from my armpits. (I sit at a computer most of the day, so I have a tendency to slouch/hunch over.) I realize that this may not apply to everyone, but it helped me a lot!
Abbreviated version: boobs look awesome, fits well, slightly uncomfortably wires, but getting better with minor adjustments. Read more 142 more words
I love this bra, it fits very nicely and is very comfortable. The top of the cup is too empty though and the band a bit too tight for me so I'm gonna try another size.
I'm wearing it right now and LOVING it, even though the top half of the cup is insanely flappy, the under-boob portion of the cup has folds from the apex shimmying down, and the straps are way too wideset (not just in front, but also in back).
I need to decide if I'm going to alter it to fit me, as the wire and the band fit me perfectly, but nothing else does. The strap alteration concerns me most; the way that it's wideset in the BACK would require my altering how it is attached all along the back band, not just where it hits the cup in front. I also have concerns of how to alter the cup to keep the seam support and lower the apex.
I love this bra. It's cute. It doesn't give make a weird shape under clothing.
Still, it's not perfect. As many people have pointed out, the band tends to roll up. It's not uncomfortable, but once I notice it, it really annoys me. I do think the band could be a little more snug, so it would be nice if there were three hook settings.
I would like the wires to be wider and go higher on the sides to accomodate my wide, shallow boobs... I do get a bit of armpit fat while wearing it.
