This bra is a little scratchy (which I suspect will diminish with washing). More troubling for me, it just wasn't the right shape. It was much too wide under the arms. This would be great for someone with a wider chest or wider-set breasts.
I really wanted this bra to fit, but alas, it is not the bra for me. The top of the cup cuts into my breast with the 30FF and there is wrinkling in the cup under the arms on the 30G. š
Looks beautiful, but doesn't have enough center projection for you. One of our users successfully adds a dart under the arm to remove wrinkles there. I wonder if that could improve the fit of the 30G?
Iām the same. I just got 28F, though I think I need a 30E, maybe 30F be because it cuts in on my tissue as well, and I have a smidge of wrinkling/space st the wire. And the 28 is hella tight.
Love4Pollinators I feel a little intimidated by that idea, I wish I didn't! It is such a pretty bra. I feel like it's just not right though. Calluna I was really hoping it would fit me because it looks really nice when it does fit!!
It is a flexible comfy foam nursing bra, as close as I could get to an ok fit. I'm FOB with soft tissue so Freya's molded cups never work for me, not enough projection. I also need to use too big a band to get a big enough cup. 32G I had major quad boob. Clips work well and the band is decently supportive.
Itās hard to write a review for this bra because itās heedeously old and stretched out and I donāt really wear it much anymore. But itās here because I used it for learning how to measure and compare to a bra I was considering buying from a friend. She measured her bra with me measuring this via Facebook messenger. Itās a pretty nice bra but when I got it, I didnāt know about swooping and scooping and so my larger breast quads a bit in this. I wish I had more to go on, but like I said, it was good while I wore it.
I recently remeasured myself and am building a new bra wardrobe. There aren't any lingerie shops where I live, that carry a large variety of bras (I really do live on a relatively remote island!) so I need to purchase them from the Internet (Thank you, ABTF and Bratabase!). As it is, I am still trying to figure out (finalise, would be the more accurate term) my correct bra size and shape. Incidentally, the bra size recommended by Bratabase was 34D - 34DD - 34E. I also ordered the Panache Tango Ii Balconnet Bra (3251) in 34DD, which has yet to arrive.
This was the first bra ...from Bratabase's Bra Recommendations. Unfortunately, it wasn't an ideal fit. The cup being WAY too large, I didn't bother taking pictures. Strangely, the bottom of the cup was quite full! The gores dig uncomfortably into my sternum, less so under the armpits. The band was a tad too tight but not overly so, which leads me to suspect that to size up on the band could possibly result in a band that was too loose. I did the "upside down bra" test, the bra still felt slightly tight.
All in all, this was a no-go. So, on to the next one! *fingers crossed* Read more 102 more words
Freya recently introduced a size expansion to their Fancies line, and I was eager to try it because I really like the aesthetic of the original Fancies Plunge (the sheer cups and the cutout gore, specifically). Sadly a lot of the detailing Freya gives the plunge did not make it to this bra.
Firstly, this bra is very comfortable. The fabrics are soft and light, the wires aren't diggy at all. The band is pretty loose, which is typical of Freya - I'm hooking it on the innermost hooks right out of the box. The cups are also quite tall - this is full coverage on me. I'm ...low set, very close set, inner fullness, with fairly tall roots, and so I rarely come across a bra that isn't giving me some sort of cleavage.
This is technically a good fit for me, no quadding, decent depth at the gore and along the bottom of the wire. The wires are too wide for my roots, but the bra is so comfortable it doesn't bother me that much. Unfortunately, I'm getting a pretty pointy shape in this bra. The center apex is veeeery deep, and the top of the cup, while roomier than some older Freyas I've tried, isn't really giving me much in the way of shaping on the upper half of my breasts. If the top cup was stretch lace, I would totally bump down to a 32H, and I bet I'd get a decently rounded profile.
Freya typically suffers from a lack of support in their unpadded bras above a G cup, but I feel nicely lifted in this, actually. It's a really decent construction, and if it had given a rounder shape I probably would have kept it despite the full coverage and the wider wires. Read more 191 more words
Thanks for the detailed review. I have been looking at this bra but have never tried Freya.
relm I actually ended up recently re-purchasing in a 32H ( I haven't gotten around to adding it to the site yet) and I was a lot happier with the fit and the shape, it's actually become a solid 'everyday' bra for me, and I'm definitely considering picking up more. I think it's worth a shot!
I ordered two Freyaās, this style, off of Amazon prime last week. Two different sizes: 38H and a 36HH. I donāt know about the fit but I figured they were similar to Panache. I generally am about a 36K in a balcony style. Elomi, I have discovered, is fairly uniform in sizing. Even their Goddess brand fits me exactly like Elomi. But, wanted something different for my vacation next month. I will see and hopefully have some positive feedback. Thanks, again.
If you're shallow on top you might not be able to fill the top of the cups. Likewise, if you're empty/shallow on the bottom you may not be able to fill the bottom of the cup.
I had some wrinkling and emptiness on the top inner section of the cup. I altered it by taking in between 1/8 and 1/4in of fabric along the top seam of the cup (between top section and bottom sections).
The band is a bit looser than expected. I think I could've sized down to a 28E.
Although this is listed as the same pattern as Pasty half cup, Candid fits differently: 1. Candid has more immediate projection. 2. Candid has more center projection near the lower part of the gore where I most need it. 3. Candid's cup is taller near the strap.
The pattern is adorable. The colors are vibrant, and the flowers abstract. I love flowers, insects, fish, mammals,....
For me, Candid fit much better than Patsy. However, a 1.1" gore is .7" too wide for me. I am considering purchasing Candid in a 30G to allow band length for a gore-narrowing alteration.
This is one of the first bras I got when I found I was wearing the wrong size. I love the cut, and feel. I thought it felt too flimsy, but has turned out to be amazing. The band does stretch out quickly. I am very short torso, but this felt great. The wires don't dig in, the gore tacks well. As it is aging, I am finding the that the cups are not as supportive as they were.
I had read some negative reviews on this bra but when I went to the UK in September I tried EVERY bra in Bravissimo in my size range. This one is like a breast hug! While it's not technically the best fit, it's very comfortable and is beautiful in the black colorway I have. The band is stretchy, the wires are not firm and the bra gives a SLIGHTLY east-west look, but for my fit preferences and my shape this bra is great for when I need to wear a bra but reallly want to sit in pajamas all day.
It's hard for me to review this. I just got it in the mail today. Measured it fresh out the packaging (ordered from Amazon, bra was folded up in a bag and mail in a bag https://d28qt14g3opchh.cloudfront.net/smileys/icon_sad.gif" alt=":-(" />... ).Underwire does not fill entirety of under wire channel, 1.5 cm of space between wire and outside end of under wire channel. I'm pretty sure the wires are waaay to narrow for me, picture showing where my breast root is and where bra wire is. Cups are insanely stiff and don't conform to the body at all. Would fit better with short cup, but cup ...is definitely not too tall for me. When I use J-Hook, cups are pulled to my chest and cuts the gaps in half. Cups seem to stand straight up from wire, perhaps because my breasts are pushing them out instead up letting them stand up straight and forcing my breast to form to the cup? Gore seems to dig in my sternum, although it is not too high or too low on my sternum (I've worn both higher and lower Gore's with no issues). Although I do believe it would stop being annoying after breaking the bra in. The colors are quite girly and nice, not too poppy or neon. I actually get some cleavage when I use the J-hook. Although the straps are not too wide/uncomfortable for me, I feel if they were set in closer that would help the cups stay against the body instead of leaning out. The band is very stretchy and I can see it riding up my back very quick if I were to wear it regularly. I also think Deco, in general, would do better to have some graduated padding to make the cups fit REAL breasts better.... I'm already beginning to think of ways I could alter this to make it work better for me. If the wires don't soften up, I will definitely have to bend them outward. It's almost painful the way they dig into my rib cage and my breast tissue. When I push the cups against my chest, the way they are SUPPOSED to fit, I get massive cleavage and quading. I think a bigger cup would fit me better...at least in the wires. The depth of this cup is over an inch smaller than my own. I look forward to try the Deco Half Cup. Read more 299 more words
Freya sizing (& fit ) can be tricky and frustrating. I wear 3 different sizes in Freya depending on the style & model. (Consistency isn't in their vocabulary apparently. :o ) Freya wires are stiff, but not as bad as Panache at least. But on the plus side, they do make some spectacular patterns!!! :)
Lol MamaPagan I have noticed their lack of consistency. There unlined bras seem to run an entire cup size or two larger than their padded bras....the half cups also seem to run larger than the "regular" cups....at least in the ones I've looked at. The deco's just seem to be all over the place! They also said freyas wires are wide, I haven't seen that, at least not in my size range. I am learning so much. I don't seem to mind firm wires, as long as they are not pointing into my ribs. After looking over my pictures here I think they are only digging in because my breasts are pushing the cups outward & the band is trying to pull them in so the wires are at an angle like this: \ instead of like this l .
I think the wires get worse as the cups increase, but the wide wires are not consistent across all styles or within the same size either..... We'll just call Freya consistent at being inconsistent.
This bra is soo old so I donāt know how much use this review is in 2017 but Iāll do it for the sake of completion. The Freya Amy is a related model, so the same exact cut, of the Antoinette and Adele. The Antoinette in red and beige were my first fitting bras when I got into bra sizing 5 years ago. I wore them and nothing but them for a year. they fit perfectly and were so comfortable I barely felt them. they gave me the best fully supported, lifted, minimized, and rounded breasts Iāve ever had...it was bra heaven, I could just forget I have ...boobs and go about my day.
Since that time Iāve gone up one or two cup sizes and I wear different bras but Iāve always wanted to try an Amy or Adele because I love their prints. I finally got ahold of an Amy and itās just like the Antoinette, same cut and silky sturdy soft fabric, but this cut longer fits me like a glove.
This bra is slightly too large and projected in the cups for me. It can accommodate my top fullness and heavy immediate projection but I am shallow at my bust apex so I get wrinkling in these cups. I do with all cut and sew bras Iāve tried. They can still give me a rounded look but I can grasp the extra fabric at the apex. The fabric is so soft and smooth and firm; it can really shape you the way mesh unpadded bras cannot, provided the bra fits you.
The band is very firm so it fits my 26ā back well for now. The straps are the widest Iāve ever encountered at .75ā. The wires are firm and the flat type. The top portion is not stretchy at all. Read more 194 more words
I had a very old Freya model once - the Phoebe. It was very strange for a Freya unlined bra... quite shallow at the underwire and had a very tight band. I heard once somewhere Freya used to have TTS or snug bands. Somewhere along the way they lost that lol.
Yes I used to buy Freya once in a while, back in the late 1990s when rocks were soft! Tightest bands I ever wore--32 was a rib-crusher and I was probably around a 27.5" underbust back then.
Cute but way too shallow. There isn't enough immediate projection anywhere for me, and I end up quadding out constantly even though when I initially put it on there is none.
I love the structure of this bra. The fabric is soft and the center gore lies flat against my chest. The cups are firm yet comfortable and give me great cleavage. However, I need to go up a cup size because I have a little side escape and quad boob on my left side.
Very good quality, lift, and projection. I love the material, it is absolutely not scratchy (I hate the lacy, sheer bras all UK brands seem to be crazy about). Can definitely recommend for bottom-full breasts.
Please be aware that the band of this bra is not true to size. The 28 band is more like a 30 band. The cups are true to size.
This was suggested on ABTF. The cup is far too tall for me and the top is really empty. It's also way too wide, the wire came almost around the back. The gore is really really tall as well but it tacked, which most of my bras right now do not.
My shape: narrow shoulders, FoB, and (I think!) projected, center fullness, narrow and short roots.
I'm pretty sure the 28G was too small in the cup for me, so my assessment is coming from that! I wish it fit, as it's really pretty (I love the pattern and the little feather charm at the center bow). It's lined, which should help with show-through. It's also a very rounded shape, I think due to the vertical seams, which also make it slightly pointy in some unnatural places and slightly flat in others. There's a point close to the inside and a flat plane where the point usually is on my ...horizontal-seamed bras.
The biggest problem for me is that the straps are approximately one mile apart. Left to their own devices, they actually want to sit hovering over my armpits. If I hold my arms out and look straight on, there's empty space there. This, combined with the fact that they don't adjust very long, is causing some pain. This is definitely suited for ladies with a broader frame (which doesn't make much sense for a 28 band, but okay!). Read more 79 more words
I only wanted to try this out bc I had heard it had pretty tight strap. I'm no fan of Freya and do not have any other myself, so I can't compare, but it wasn't tight enough for me. I had to put it straight to the tightest hook, which i felt to be really shame as I otherwise really liked the bra. But this is my only disappointment with this bra.
This was also my first soft cup ever, so I can't compare to that. Simply said, it fitted as well and felt as good as my favorite moulded wire bra. Deco soft cup felt light yet sturdy ...all over. Many has told there was itching, but I didn't face such even that I'm quite sensitive. It was soft and lovely. I liked the fact that there was only two column hooks as I don't enjoy feeling like being in a corset. This bra sits tight enough to work on those two. Even shoulder straps were more narrow than the regular Deco straps, which I happen to strongly dislike for I always aim to anything soft.
The cups weren't as pushy as the original Deco does have, they did give pretty plunge cleavage (such like always are too squishy from sides to my liking). This bra works well on wide rooted and somewhat shallow without much projection breasts. The look is effective in all of its simplicity. Read more 129 more words
As all longline bra, this one is very comfy. The front side of band is firm, from cups to hooks it is elastic. It scratches a little on skin when your skin is dry. The cup seems to be little larger then F cup of Freya bras I own/owned. The straps are soft and wide. I find this bra to be (was when it was my size) favourite because of wide longline band and soft padding.
Looks beautiful, but doesn't have enough center projection for you. One of our users successfully adds a dart under the arm to remove wrinkles there. I wonder if that could improve the fit of the 30G?
