This is the first Freya bra that has fit me. I don't know much about the brand, except that I've noticed that band lengths can be all over the place. I've tried 28 band that fit and 30 bands. This one is a 30 band and its just right. Lace is not scratchy. I got the white color. The tag for this Enchanted has the style number: AA1571
This bra fits except that the cup depth at the apex is too deep for me, I could easily alter it, but I will try to sell it first. The fabic is so cute and not scratchy at all. The band is a little tight for me, but I usually wear a 30/32 band.
I kind of knew this bra wouldn't fit based on my experience with other Freya Plunge Balconies (especially the Ooh La La) and fit pictures of the same size here. But the embroidery is so pretty (florals!) and it is on sale, I just had to buy the bra and try it out.
As expected, the diagonal seam cuts into my tall roots, though not as much as the Ooh La La did. The wire is also too wide, but that is seen in all UK bras that I have tried. The gore height is very comfortable at 2 inches - that's the most my close-set breasts can stand. ...The gore width however is too big for me. It was sitting on breast tissue and flattening the inside of my breasts. The band felt snug, although the stretched band measurement is much too big for a 28 band. Freya really needs to do something about their loose stretchy band. The projection level is pretty perfect. I'm surprised my soft breasts can fit into 7.4-inch and 8.5-inch cup depths at the same time, without major quad-boob (in shallow cups) or gapping (in deep cups). I would totally have kept the bra if it didn't give me quad boobs on top and along centre, which looks like it's squeezing all my tissue into the apex for a pointy shape.
I think it's safe to say that Freya's Plunge Balconies just won't fit me. I am really going to control my spending and quit bra shopping for a while, after having bought a basic, white lined plunge bra from China (desperately need one under work clothes - my Deco Vibe in Candy is not going to work). I'm hoping to hold onto my slightly too shallow Freya Deco Vibe 28F and Comexim Ginger 3HC 60H for at least a few months. The next bra on my to-get list is the Cleo Kayla, which seems narrow and projected. If that doesn't work out, maybe I'll get an unlined plunge from Comexim, or perhaps EM. Read more 230 more words
I thought this would fit but not quite. The top is too closed and dents into my upper boob and I get wrinkling inside under the lace portion. So I'm too shallow and too FOT for this bra.
A related model, Antoinette, is a perfect shape match, albeit too small, in a size 28DD. And so I thought they were going to be the same exact cut. But I guess not quite.
I've heard great things about this bra. Learning that it is narrow and projected, something unusual for UK unlined bras, sounded like it could work for me. It looks very pretty as well with its sheerness, cute and gentle blush, and beautiful embroidery. I usually wear a 28F, but sized down to 28E in this one because I've heard it is very deep. Plus my super narrow roots was going to need the wire width of a 28E. The wire did fit somewhat perfectly at my IMF, and the depth was fine except a little too deep on my smaller breast. The gore height was also low for ...Freya's unlined plunge balcony, which is friendly for my super close-set breasts. Everything fits great on the wires and lower part, but the upper part (where the embroidery is) cuts into my tall roots, and flattens out what should've been a natural slope. My boobs looked like two cones on my chest with the upper tissue stemming from my chest in a sharp angle, from being completely flat to a sudden slope. It looked awful. I've read other reviews that says this bra is open on top for some, but for my tall roots and full-on-top breasts, it was not enough. Sadly I can't seem to find an unlined bra which is narrow, projected, open on top, and has a low gore. It's like all plunges will be closed on top. I believe it's some kind of physics. I'm disappointed this bra didn't work because of its wonderful quality and appearance. Read more 152 more words
Some of the Ewa Michalak 3DM plunges are narrow, projected, and open on top. I had success with Margot and Bezyk. Others were super closed on top though, so this cut is like playing the lottery. :/
bracrastination I've always been curious about Ewa Michalak, so I went to their website and searched for my size (60F). The only cut available is M, which according to their website means "Unpadded Small Plunge Bras in Magique cut", but it seems that all of them are lined. I also heard things about how they charge extra tax and PayPal fee, so I tried to buy something to see how much a bra actually costs, only to realise they don't even ship to my country. The whole thing is so messy, I don't know when I'll finally have the courage to buy from them!
kate166 Maybe try Comexim Donna? I have that in both 70E & 70F. And when I noticed I had some growth (in my shallow upper area), I was still able to wear the 70E, although it was technically too small (I didn't get any quadding) The only thing is, I don't know if it'll be narrow enough for you. For some reason Ewa's M bras are listed as being unpadded, but they're not.
Prettyncharmeuse It looks like it's been discontinued because I can't find it on their website :( I'm tempted to try Musetta, but I'm still confused about my size in Comexim (see my review on Ginger 3HC 60H), and I'm worried that requesting a lowered gore would make the cups more closed on top.
kate166 wow, I didn't realize they no longer have it. I have the musetta as a 3HC, and there doesn't seem to be a lot of depth on the inner parts of the cup.
kate166 Ewa Michalak makes her bands very tight. My regular UK size is 30E, but I am a 70DD (32DD) in all of her bras (and some of those fit more tightly than my UK 30Es). So, looking for 65E bras might be worth a try. Good luck with that!
Prettyncharmeuse I think 3HC is a little too shallow at the bottom for me, and lined plunge is too closed on top, so I'm really not sure if Musetta in 3HC and plunge would work for me, and they don't accept returns in a 60 band or with alterations :(
bracrastination Thank you! I looked at 65E styles and there are definitely more choices for me. However I would have to email them to ask if they ship to my country, and I'm really not optimistic about their customer service!
Great bra for younger women wanting cleavage. However, for the band size, the cups come up way too high under the arm. I had to cut and sew the bra to alter it to fit (not the much work honestly!) and move the straps into the center more. Now it is perfect!
This is the second Deco Vibe I've owned; the previous was in 28F. I purchased this from Broad Lingerie in Toronto, ON and it was heavily discounted (to my advantage) because it had been sitting around for so long. I got the band altered shorter through the store and it was only a $10 alteration, so well worth it in my books. It stretches to an absolute perfect length for me to wear it comfortably on the loosest hooks, and the materials are super soft so it never feels like it's digging in.
I love this bra for the cleavage it gives and as a going-out bra, but ...I've realized as an everyday bra it just doesn't have enough immediate projection for me (which is surprising because I've never had that problem before). Because of the lack of immediate projection and overall shallow shape in general, it does feel like my boobs are locked down a little bit too much, and it feels like the wires shift down on my ribcage as the day or night goes on. But like I said, this bra is for cleavage first and foremost, so I am willing to forgive these other shortcomings. Read more 91 more words
I don't usually mix well with plunges due to my shape but this hybrid is an alright fit. There is a fabric bubble in the top of the cup where it connects to the strap because I think I'm rather shallow up top. The band fits but i only wear tight tight tight bands, so this is more of a back-up bra..
Nice bra with easy clasps; spacer material. Bought both this size and the 32GG. The gore tacked on the 32GG but it was too big in the cup; whereas this (32G), the gore doesn't tack but I am not having tissue compression on the bottom, sides, or top so it generally "fits"; it does squish tissue when I'm closer to needing to nurse again and getting engorged. Currently 3 weeks postpartum. Shape is wider than my non nursing bras, but fine, and my main complaint is just the gore not tacking.
Would work better for someone with a more even fullness, as I am pretty full on bottom, which I think is why the 32GG was big, especially at the top; the bottom fit with a little more "engorgement room".
Because of my shape and being so full on bottom, I think I want to try one of the EM nursing bras since they are half cup/balconette style. Just trying to figure out what size to order.
I have a similar experience with this bra, Comexim is my HG bra when not nursing- I'm FOB, and have all the things that mean Polish is a better fit. I just ordered an EM from Zathiya, fingers crossed!
I honestly like the fit of this bra even though it doesn't necessarily check all of the "fit" categories. I didn't think I'd like the fact that it only had one hook because I thought that I'd have loads of back fat without a wider back. Weirdly enough, I have little to no back fat while wearing it.
Two things I dislike about this bra are: 1. the color is a little too loud for me 2. The lace at the top has a soft elastic parameter. It doesn't bother me too much except that it looks like I'm slightly spilling over at times.
I saw online rumors that the Patsy, my favorite padded half cup, was being discontinued so I ordered the Fearne as a 'tester' replacement. I have to say this is probably my new favorite bra.
* The band on the Fearne is stretchy just like the Patsy * Fearne is a little more closed on top. I have an even, self supporting shape and this did not cause any quadding. If you are very FOT or have soft tissue, this may be an issue for you. * Overall, the Fearne fits me just as well as the Patsy does * Fearne's seams are less visible under clothing as compared to Patsy * Fearne's fabric is a lot softer than Patsy. Very comfortable! * I also like the pattern better on the Fearne. The Patsy's polka dots were cute; this pattern feels more elegant.
I highly recommend Fearne if Patsy worked for you. I am off to get the beige color way!
This is an absolutely gorgeous bra that fits me quite well. I'm used to full coverage bras, but the half cup works quite well for me because I've lost some of the little top fullness I had and that does strange things to full coverage cups. The band on this bra isn't as comfortable as my older Elomi bras, but that may just be due to new-bra stiffness. For now, I look forward to taking it off at the end of the day. The support is superb, and I like that the light padding on the upper cup keeps my nipples from poking through, unlike some of Freya's other offerings.
I fit into a 32F in the other Freya and Fantasie bras I've tried, so the cups on this one seem to run a smidge small.
My shape: fairly projected, narrow-to-average width roots, tall roots, not much upper-fullness, soft tissue, splayed.
How this bra fits me: the band is pretty firm and TTS for a Freya bra. It only has one hook per column and only three columns, which is necessary for the gateway back - and very pretty - but something to bear in mind if you're a smaller band size or if you need more support. I'm small busted so as long as the fabric of the cups is supportive I'm fine.
I find the wires noticeably firmer than Freya wires usually are.
The cups close off sharply and do cut into my tall roots ...a lot, but I bought this bra because it looks pretty and I am a child about things like that and also my husband likes it. Loosening up the straps helps and the cutting in doesn't show under clothes. I have also discovered that, tall roots be damned, my soft tissue really wants a horizontal section without give to hold everything in place. I would say this bra is less forgiving on tall roots than the Freya Fearne and its sisters (which are also not perfect, btw, just better) and more forgiving that all other Freya plunge styles I have tried.
The projection and lift are just perfect. This bra does not give me a pointy shape - I look gently rounded with a soft peak. Very natural, very pretty. The cup construction does a good job at pulling all my tissue forward.
The lace fabric looks and feels great. Comfy. It's firm, but not scratchy.
I'll need to widen the wires on my bigger side (measurements I added are pre modification ofc) but I bought this knowing that. I tend more to be a 28F, but Freya Fs are almost always too deep for me for at least 20 days of every month !
Edited to add, the straps are stretchy. They move about on my shoulders, they feel like they will probably stretch out fast. I don't know if that's true for larger cupsizes, but if you need solid straps I would absolutely check first. Read more 243 more words
Is the cup fabric stretchy at all? I'm looking for one that at least the top portion of the cups are stretch lace. Is this like that?
moriko It isn't stretchy at all I'm afraid. The Panache Ava plunge in blush has a similar aesthetic and the upper portion of the bra is stretch lace - the band on that one runs slightly big and the wires slightly wide, but other than that its fit is similar (lots of room in the bottom of the cup and fairly deep at the apex, too).
Oh, moriko, if you need narrow cups with room at the bottom and stretch lace up top, you could try the Bravissimo Mia bra. The gore is wider than Panache's gores are, so no good for close-set breasts. I'd say the cups run a smidge small, so perhaps size up if you try this one.
Although the cup width measures 6" from wire to wire, when the bra is on and hooked, it pulls the wires out under my arms. So, the underwires end up being wider than my boobs. Since the wires are not rigid, they can be bent in a little, which helps give a little extra depth in the cup. The cups are very low and expose a lot of upper boob. Probably better for wide root, shallow boobs that have some firmness. It's not a good fit for me, but I still wear it mostly around the house or to run errands.
I'm not sure where I read that this runs a cupsize small, but it definitely doesn't. I'm normally a 28F, and this is at least 1/2cup too big for me. I'll be reordering in the correct size. From what I can tell, this has roots that are slightly too wide (so probably avg-narrow width) for me, and the straps are too wideset for my narrow shoulders.
I have worn Pollyanna three times and am glad I took my time assessing it. I don't feel like it's giving me enough side support to keep it in my bra wardrobe. My breasts are very projected but also very malleable and pendulous, and I'm much more comfortable in a bra that provides firmer support and uplift than this bra does. I have had to reach in and lift multiple times a day because my breasts keep turning and settling nipples-down at the bottom of the cup. There is also some folding of my breast tissue inside the bra cups between the wings and ...straps because the fabric is not sturdy enough to hold my tissue upright. The construction is just not substantial enough. Finally, although I've read that Freya has narrow wires, I don't find the wires on Pollyanna are narrow enough for my shape. The underwire at the sides is about 1.5cm too wide, the result of which is my boobs are squished off to the sides. Apart from this the bra is comfortable, but I will not be keeping this one with it exhibiting so many fit mismatch issues. Read more 93 more words
This is not meant for tall roots at all. I also got it too small, a 28F would have been a better fit but I still found the bra very comfortable. I would recommend it to short-rooted ladies who don't necessarily want a very rounded shape. I am tempted to buy this in a bigger size just because of how comfortable it was even though it's not the right shape.
My shape: projected, but with tall, shallow roots; moderately narrow; soft breast tissue; maybe conical? Figuring that last one out, and also deciding if it matters.
This bra: this bra is not a perfect shape match for me - the top lace section, while not ever-so closed, is not as forgiving as Freya Fearne and Afterglow. So it does come into conflict with my tall roots and on my smaller side especially I get that so-called George fold. However, as I went to take off in the fitting rooms, I noticed my shape from the side and that is why I decided to buy it. Freya bras usually make ...me quite pointy - a nice shape, but under some clothes it can emphasise my perhaps naturally cone-like shape. This bra makes my breasts look round, really round. Not orb-like, more of a natural round shape than that, but I love it. Under light loose tops - the kind which seem to show off every seam in every bra - this one disappears. The fold in the lace is invisible. But my breasts look great.
So, one that ought to not work, doesn't perfectly, but also really really does!
And and and - as other reviewers have said, this band fits TTS. The fabric is firm (but more comfy than my Cleo Marcie). I normally take a 28 in Freya, Cleo - the only brands I've tried - but hooked on the middle column this bra does not particularly move. Read more 138 more words
I was thrilled when I saw that my local bra shop had received this season's items already! It's such a cute bra with vibrant colours and a really nice lace detail!
Now, Freya balconies are generally incompatible with my shape, because I'm both FoT and tall, with narrow roots, but this one is pretty good for even to FoT breasts thanks to the elasticized lace top! I'm even wondering whether it would actually fit people with FoB breasts or shorter roots. It has good projection near the wire and sturdy straps made with 2 different materials. It seems that Freya has finally abandoned their old strap material for something ...more durable that wouldn't get pilling like crazy, like my old bras from them have. The only downside for me is the wire width, which is about 1-1.5cm too wide for me, but the rest fits like a charm. It fits true to size at 30F.
Edit: After a while wearing it and getting better bras, I get to the conclusion that this bra is not FoT-friendly despite having stretch lace on top. The bra retains the classic Freya Plunge Balcony shape and is more FoB-friendly, though it can and does work for more even and FoT people, and roots on the taller side. It cuts into my inner fullness, so it's not very good for centre-full breasts, and the wires are much, much too wide for me, a good inch too wide. Considering the cup depth and wire width, I feel safe assessing that this bra fits more like a 30FF than a 30F. The band also stretched out rather fast and I started fastening it on the middle hooks after only 3 months of wear, and I am expecting to move on to the tightest hooks sometime soon. Glad to read the material is soft :-)
