I have Lyla in two colourways, amethyst and black. Lyla amethyst in 28F was my first choice, my standard cup size with a smaller band as Freya is known for it's loose bands.
Unfortunately, the fit isn't perfect.
The band is ok but could be more stretchy. That's my overall complaint about Freya bands, they are very loose so that I have to size down, but not stretchy enough in my opinion.
The straps are really beautiful, wide and comfortable. They're very long and they don't stretch a lot (just like the band which is partly made of the straps).
My biggest problem concerns the cup fit. The first thing is that ...the cups run very high on my chest, more like a full cup not a plunge bra which it's supposed to be. Another issue is the top of the cups. I have full on the bottom (and empty on the top) boobs, and I can't quite fill the cup at the same time as the edge cuts in the breast tissue particularly near the center gore.
The center gore is hurtful and I don't exactly know why. I suppose it's because I don't have any fat on the sternum and this is my recurrent problem in bras with hard underwires.
Due to the cup fit problem, I've tried Lyla in 28E, but I's definitely too small. Unfortunately it seems that I'm not compatible with this bra and that's why I won't try any Freya bras in this style. That's quite a shame, because the design is just beautiful and Lyla liquorice was very tempting. Read more 153 more words
Fit like a 28JJ. Gave me kind of a "ski-slope" look (My husband's words) It had been the bra I wanted for a long time, now I know it doesn't fit. Very cute!
The strap fabric is kinda scratchy. It got a little better after the first wash, so I hope they soften up over time. Like most of my other Freyas, the gore hurts my sternum but I noticed these seem to break in after a few wears so I'm not too concerned. Gives a good shape under my clothes, however, the lace shows a bit with thin shirts but not as bad as you'd think. Also, the band is on the middle hook, so I'm on the lookout for a 28FF to try.
The colors of the fabric on this were not quite as I expected, but still very pretty. The cups are not really padded, just lined. They are thinner than my Deco bras. They are also thinner than my Edina longline. The only real complaint that I have about this bra is that the outside edge if the wires pinch a little. I may try and adjust this a little, but it's not enough to make me not want to wear the bra. It's a beautiful bra and I think it'll get a lot of use.
This bra is just overall too big. The band is too loose and the cups are slightly too big. It's comically large on my smaller breast. It also just wasn't terribly comfortable on my sternum. I think the wires bend strange, as you can see they seem to lift away from my body in the middle of the underwire. Not quite sure why.
A stunner of a set, that unfortunately isn't exactly right for my shallow shape. Still, if you're a fan of Freya's padded half cups, or in need of a Longline, this one's definitely worth checking out, as it's an absolutely lovely set.
I was so excited to try this bra - and I was not disappointed! I normally fit in a 28E, but since it isn't available in the AW2012 style (super excited for the new blue one in 28E) I opted for a 30DD. I'm definitely satisfied with the band. It stretches to 30" (so it's true to size) for me but I find it to be quite snug, even with a 27" underbust. I assume it has something to do with the fact that it's a longline. The gore is surprisingly very comfortable, usually I have to bend it outwards in a new bra. I fill out the ...cups well but seem to get a bit of quadboob when I inhale. It isn't enough of an issue to size up or anything, it's just because of the angle of my chest. The cups are open enough on top for my (mostly) even, somewhat shallow breasts.
The bra itself is so pretty. I just love floral prints, along with pastel colors, and this one is no exception. The watercolor-like print is gorgeous against the light pink color. The little polka dot bows are super cute too, especially the ones on the straps! I really don't have any complaints about the appearance of the bra - I absolutely love it.
A minor complaint is that the band bunches and flips up quite easily. It's not a huge deal to me, but some might have an issue with it. Read more 136 more words
This is the first strapless bra I've been able to wear comfortably and with confidence that it won't fall down or slip off. The long line definitely helps with the secure fit and support. The cups are nicely moulded and, unlike many other Freya bras, the top of the cup angles back in toward the chest. That's part of what makes this model work for me, the top of the cup sits smoothly against my chest. I also like that the cups provide a little more coverage compared to many other strapless bras I've tried. When I wore this bra under a strapless dress I've worn before with other bras and never got amazing compliments on, several people remarked on how well the dress fit me and flattered me. It was this bra that made the difference. I haven't yet worn it with straps, but I'm hopeful it will work just as well.
This bra is wicked adorable. It manages to be both cute and sexy, a rare feat. It doesn't quite suit me, unfortunately. Hearing that Freya's padded half-cups ran small, I originally ordered the 28G - Freya ยป Patsy Padded Longline Bra (1222). Unfortunately, the gapping in the cup was too much for me to handle--it was the sort where if you stand up really straight and stick your chest out, the cup is filled, but at any other moment there's empty space. I'd rather have a bit of quadboob, personally, so I exchanged for the 28FF. As you can see, the cups are a bit ...shallow for me--there is empty space at the bottom of the cup yet the barest hint of a quadboob (especially, for some reason, on my right--smaller--side?).
Apart from my personal fit issues, I think the cups are true to size for Freya. The band I find actually fairly loose (though, perhaps, your typical too-big Freya 28); it doesn't make full contact with my stomach/back at the bottom centre, as if it's not tapered to fit my ribcage. The straps are stretchy and comfy. My biggest complaints are that 1) the lace pokes up and shows through clothing very easily (though this might be helped if I weren't a little too big for the cups...!); and 2) the perennial Freya longline problem: the band rides or flips up over the course of a few hours. This one definitely requires repeated adjustment.
Overall, I'm happy with the purchase: even if it's not perfect, this bra is fashionable, cute, and fairly comfortable. Read more 159 more words
The stitching on top of the cup of the Ashlee and Taylor make this bra a bit tighter on top even though it looks to be the exact same size as the regular decos.
Bought it in a sister size, as such the band is too big causing fit issues. Nonetheless it's a very, very pretty bra, and I'm hoping to try it out in my true size soon. Cups run at least half a size smaller than the Deco, and seem to be less tall. You may want to size up from your regular Deco size.
I get slight quadboob, and my breast tissue starts to leak out very quickly. The band is also really loose on me. Still, it gives great shape underneath clothes, and it's one of the best wirefree bras out there, as it gives good shape and decent enough support.
I get slight quadboob, and my armpit tissue isn't properly contained; presumably the cups aren't high enough. The band is still a bit loose on me, but that's expected with my underbust measurement. It's very much a true "28, and if you're in between band sizes you may want to size up. I recommend sizing at least 1 cup size up from the regular Deco.
Purchased a band size too big, cup is also slightly too small. I'd say cups run half a size bigger than regular Deco, you may want to size up. Please read my full review for more info!
This bra is really cute. The vertical seams give lots of shape and support. The straps are long and it can be worn with a racerback clip.
As with most Freyas, I recommend going down to your sister size in Panache/Cleo. I wear a 32FF in Panache/Cleo, and I wear a 30G in Freya padded half cups.
This bra is gorgeous, comfortable and gives me a great shape. I love it!
To be honest it's probably a tiny bit small in the cups but I am in between 28F and 28FF in Freya and I tried on the 30F in a store and it was a bit big in the cups, so I think the 28FF would have been too big. As long as the gore tacks and the underwires aren't digging in, I would personally prefer to have a bra that is a little on the small side than too big, as I hate the look of gaping cups under clothes. That issue aside, ...this bra is very comfortable and the back band doesn't seem to ride up even on my 26 inch ribcage. The straps are fully adjustable too, not that that is a problem for me. The only issue I have with the bra itself is that there are only 2 columns of hooks rather than the standard 3, which means it won't last as long.
I highly recommend this bra! I'm so happy that Freya is making it in a 28. For size reference: My ribcage is 26 inches, my bust is 34 inches, and I'm full on bottom. I usually wear a 28F in Freya bras though I'm definitely at the upper end of that size.
EDIT: I have just gone back onto the pill and my breasts have grown again, making this bra now too small for me. I've added pictures of how it is now. Shame as it's such a lovely bra! I'll still keep it for if my breasts shrink again.
The band on this one seems tighter and more sturdy then most Freya bras. Aside from the quadboob, its a lovely fit. The underwires are very comfortable, and the wide, adjustable straps sits nicely against the skin. The top seems to be quite closed - possibly a good bra for FOB breasts? The lace that runs along the top of the cups will show through very thin and/or clingy fabrics, but it is not as noticeable as you would expect.
The back is likely stretched out slightly, I close it on the middle hooks vs the first set in a 34FF Deco. But otherwise, it's perfect.
1 - It really is a nice t-shirt bra.
2 - Nothing escapes all day.
3 - It's narrow enough in the straps so they aren't directly in my armpits and poking all day.
4 - The underwire isn't painful, which is a frequent issue for me.
My only gripe is the 2 hook back. 3 or 4 hooks people, 3 or 4. 2 is pointless past a B cup, so even with the band tight enough that I can't get 2 fingers under it, it creeps up because hey, big boobs pulling down eventually wins.
But, the rest of it is so comfortable, so I just pull it down in back a few times a day.
Overall, it's a little plain, but it is a t-shirt bra. But would it hurt to give this a nice little pinstripe detail or some cute simple pattern instead of just big and beige?
