Runs a little big in the band, which curls up (which could be from my bad posture), but I still find it comfortable and great for when I'm a bit heavier. While I find it good enough, I will definitely size down on the band if I come across another of longlines. I also cut the rosettes on the straps, as I found them too much.
ETA: I've meanwhile realized that some of the issues with this bra (the riding up, the too loose band) are because I have a very "conical" torso. I'm going to try to sew the bottom part of the band so it won't stretch and it might fit me better.
This is the most gorgeous bra I have ever owned. I have the "Fruits" colourway in pink-orange with moss green trim. It is bright and summery and VERY colourful without looking garish or childish. I am really upset that it is discontinued and hard to find, because I would want 2-3 of these (and maybe one of the padded halfcup versions in a 30G, as well).
This bra fits true to size in the band (tighter than other Freya 28 bands, which is nice) and a tiny bit large in the cup. It is marked as "did not fit" because there is a bit of loose lace at ...the top of the cups, but it is still quite comfortable to wear, looks great, and is supportive. It does not poke. The wires are narrow-medium width. It would be a good fit for full-on-top boobs because the lace detail does not cut in (I have evenly full boobs and a lot of bras cut in at the top)
It seem to be quality construction - seams are all reinforced, and the band has the strap material used as a detailing (which is quite firm), so I don't think this will stretch out too much.
The only negative comment I have is that while I appreciate that Freya incorporated a mossy green in one of their bras (my favourite colour) the lace and frilly details seem a little bit fussy for my tastes, and the frills at the band are a little scratchy. Overall, I'm thrilled with this bra. Read more 151 more words
Standing up, this bra fits perfectly. It's only when I sit down that the cups ride up and there's a very large gap between the bra and my breasts. It's not very noticeable under thicker tops (which is how I had the bra for so long without noticing - sweaters!) but under a t-shirt it causes the fabric to sit on top of the bra and away from my chest. I tried the 30E on before buying the 30F and the cups were simply too small, so for me sizing down would not be a solution.
If I could stand up all day and never sit, I would say this is the best bra I've ever owned. Unfortunately, I'm more of a couch potato.
This bra's cup width and depth are impossible to measure, because not only is it wireless, it also has no centre gore, really. I find it very comfortable, but I agree with laura_144 that the band digs in a bit after a long day. The bra gives my wide root shallow boobs a really nice round shape and it also creates cleavage https://d28qt14g3opchh.cloudfront.net/smileys/icon_wink.gif" alt=";-)" />. Out of about ten t-shirt bras I tried on this was the one that fit me best.
I was super excited about this bra because since figuring out I was wearing the wrong bra, I didn't have a properly fitting strapless to wear.
Firstly, this bra looks rather nice, though nothing fancy, and it has a nice feel to it. When I first got it, the cups had been crumpled up a bit in the mail, so I was a little worried, but it smoothed out without any real issue. It looks very much like its strapped counterpart with only a few differences that I'll mention in a moment.
When I got this bra, I was actually very surprised by the ...size of the cups in comparison to my normal Deco. They looked freakin HUGE. Granted, the normal Deco I have is a 36GG, but still it should have the same volume. There shouldn't be that big a difference between them, but I digress. They're made of the same moulded material. Inside the cup, there is a piece of folded material much like what is used in the band sewn in the outside part of the cup for what I assume is extra support for the side of the breast and firm up the outside portion of the cup. It is very soft and completely unnoticeable when wearing. I can't fill the top part of the cups, and I wish they didn't come up quite so high.
The gore comes up higher in this bra than the normal Deco, which I both like and hate. I like that my boobs don't feel like they're about to tumble out, but the gore feels like it comes up almost too high. I think it would have been much better if it split the difference between this one and the normal one on gore height, but I can understand the change. The wires also come up rather high under the arms, but they aren't uncomfortable.
The band on the bra is obviously wider than the normal Deco, or for that matter, most bras I have that aren't strapless. It has 4 hooks per column, so it feels very secure on. The band is also very snug, but not overly so. In fact, it feels quite comfortable, and it seems like it will do what is should. I haven't worn this bra all day, but I feel it will stay comfortable.
It comes with straps as it is a multi-way strapless, which I actually like. The straps look very similar to the ones on the normal Deco, but they are quite a bit smaller. There are also 2 difference places in the cup and on the band to hook in the straps, so you have a choice of where you'd like the straps to be placed, Considering straps often tend to rub under my armpit due to their placement, I like this feature a lot.
Overall, this is a very nice bra, and it does what it should. Sadly, since the cups are much too large for me, I will be returning this bra. Read more 398 more words
I bought this bra in both black and beige when my local Nordstrom Rack had it on clearance. This review is for the black version. The beige does seem to fit a bit differently, so I'll add its measurements separately.
The band is very stretchy and far too loose--even on the tightest hooks I can feel it sliding around on my back. I would need a 28 or even 26 for this bra to fit, and even then I think the elasticity of the band would make it a no-go for someone like me who prefers a firmer band.
If Bratabase's fit issue selector used check boxes instead of radio ...buttons, I would've checked both "wrinkling" and "quadboob." On my larger breast the top 1/4th or so of the lace gaps and wrinkles, and then it cuts in and it's quadboob from there on down. Since I had some issues with the gore as well (one underwire would roll up on top of the other and they'd dig into my sternum) I think this is another pretty bra that just doesn't suit my extremely close-set boobs, but it's hard to tell in such an ill-fitting band.
Despite all that, the cups themselves feel supportive and comfortable, as do the straps. Overall, the shape I get is fairly typical unpadded Freya--slightly pointy, but not in a bad way. The lace and associated fit issues don't show through any of the shirts I tried it with. I like the look of this bra a lot, but the next unpadded Freya balconette I try will definitely be one with less of a reputation for crazy stretchy bands. Read more 163 more words
I have wanted this bra for what feels like eternity, I was saving up for it but after figleaves sold out of 28FF I went and impulse bought it off large cup lingerie (free shipping, came in just 2 days, I recommend it!)
When I took it out of the packaging, my first instinct was that the cups are too big, I'm going to have to send it back! But they actually fit very well for size. The back has a 6 hook fastening, but there is only 2 tightness settings and I am on the tightest right away, so I might end up adjusting it.
Apart from the tightness, ...my only complaint is how wide the wires are, they are way too wide for me and mean that I'm popping out a bit at the front because the cup is too shallow, it's not uncomfortable and doesn't look too obvious so I'm definitely keeping it, but it's very much a bra for someone with wider, more shallow breasts.
The longline looks great, but there's no extra boning or support. It's not really necessary though as the cups are very supportive. Overall it's a gorgeous bra and I'm gad I impulse-bought it, I'm probably going to wear this under a sheer shirt, or with a high waisted skirt and a jacket, to show it off https://d28qt14g3opchh.cloudfront.net/smileys/icon_smile.gif" alt=":)" /> Read more 121 more words
I love this bra. LOVE. I will say, though, that the band is super stretchy and I would go down to a 28 if it were available. I tend not to wear this as an everyday bra because I don't want to stretch it out, and also the extra fabric that makes it a longline (forgive me, I don't know what to call it) does flip up a little bit if I bend over. It's sheer physics. But. Good lord. This is one of my very favorite bras. I may buy several of them to make sure I will always have one in the right size no matter what time of the month I'm in.
This bra looks ok from the front and gives me good cleavage, but is SUPER uncomfortable. The wires dig in and sit on top of breast tissue near the armpit area. Also there is gaping on the smaller boob and mega quadboob on the larger one. The outline of the bra shows under almost every shirt I own. I also find it a little too molded. I don't like the fact that it looks and feels so unnatural. Instead of gently supporting my breasts, I feel like they are in a straight jacket or something... I also tried the 28E in this bra and there was a ton of gaping on both breasts.
This bra is brilliant. It is way better for me than the regular Deco in the same size, which gaped horribly at the top even though the underwires fit. This is my new favourite bra, everything fit perfectly the moment I put it on. Stayed put the whole day.
One con I can think of is that the "sticky" strips that prevent it from sliding everywhere might get a teeny bit uncomfortable by the end of the day. May not work for boobs which are fuller on top as the cups would cut into the breast tissue, but is fantastic for tear-shaped boobs.
Edit: I have some scars from where the silicone strips have rubbed against my skin after a whole day of wearing this bra, so that isn't fun. The skin there also gets kind of tender after long periods of wear. Might just be that my skin is sensitive, but it's something to keep in mind.
I am so excited that my longline came in! Less excited about a couple of elements of it, but this is honestly a beautiful bra. I will be replacing it for a larger cup size, and I'll love it. I like the light lavender color a lot-- I'm a pale skinned, pinky cool toned person and I think it looks absolutely fabulous. I also love the pattern. I have a thing for birds and nature patterns, so this bra really fills that niche.
But let's talk sizing. My first and most obvious impression of this bra is that the cup sizes seem to run about a cup too small. ...I am solidly a 28FF in Cleo unpadded styles, and am pretty confidant that I would be a 28FF in the Freya Deco (I haven't had a chance to double-check, but the 28G is about a cup size too big for me). I ordered this bra in a 28FF and have serious quadboobage not just in my bigger boob, but in my smaller boob as well. I like the lightly padded cups, and I also liked the general shape they created. I expect in the next size up they would look fantastic. I find the shape to be pretty round and uplifted from what I can currently see. I would expect most people would need to size up in the cup for this bra.
Next, the band is of note. I am admittedly a bit disappointed to find that this did not feel like a snug 28 band on me, but rather slightly on the looser side. (For reference, my underbust is 27", or a snug 26.25", and this band was 24" unstretched and 29.5" stretched). If they offered this in a 26, I would absolutely size down in it. The band itself is quite stretchy, and I expect it will loosen with time. As it is, I think that I might have to alter down the band size, because I think it would be worth it to have this bra in my rotation but I just demand more snugness from my bands. I would expect that, if you like a firmer band, sizing down in the band size if possible would be a good move.
Another HUGE (in my mind) downside to this bra, that I frankly find very confusing, is that it only has TWO rows of hooks, as opposed to your standard three (I've even found strapless bras that have four). I don't know why this irks me as much as it does, maybe because I find it mind boggling. Like, seriously, I am racking my brain trying to figure out why on earth they would not use three rows of hooks like every other bra in the world, and the only things I can come up with are dastardly schemes to force you to buy more bras earlier because you couldn't tighten the back of your bra just that little bit more after their already-verging-on-loose band stretched out. The six hooks, though luxurious, also make it so hard to just add another row yourself (instead necessitating chopping down the band).
But, setting my conspiracy theories aside, it's a silly thing. Hooks set aside, this bra feels supportive, but to be honest, no more supportive than your average bra. I would have expected long lines to feel substantially more supportive, but I think because the band has quite a bit of give it isn't providing as much support around the band as it could.
I guess it's because it's a long line, but I have more things to say about the band of this bra than anything else. I've read that other Freya long lines have had issues with the band rolling up at the bottom, but I haven't experienced this issue with this bra. I am pretty petite in the torso, and the bottom of the band hits basically the bottom, maybe a cm above the bottom of my ribcage. One issue I do run into, though, that I don't experience with my other bras, is some spillage of 'back fat' over the band-- it's just below my shoulder blades, and I am slightly but not overly squishy person. It definitely isn't too tight a band, but the height of the band hits me in a different place than my other bras.
Overall, a gorgeous, classy bra that looks like it could create a really nice shape. However, a bit too small in the cups, a tad too loose in the band. I'll be returning for a 28G, and then altering the band down maybe half an inch or so. Read more 660 more words
I wanted to love this bra but I just...don't. The cups are too tight near the centre of the bra and I get a bit of overflow there, but then nearer the straps they're a little loose and I get wrinkling. Possibly better for people who are more top-heavy? It comes up quite tight, and it was getting pretty uncomfortable and digging in when I wore it for a full day (which was only once!). On the plus side, it's really pretty and delicate and looks lovely when it actually fits! Think this will be one to sell.
This bra is very comfortable and yet still gives amazing cleavage! Take that VS! The band is firm and is in line with the front of the bra, the straps are fully adjustable and very soft, and it doesn't show underneath clothing (unless it's super thin and clingy--a deadly combo).
Unfortunately, I am really between sizes on this bra. I think I need a 28G but I am afraid that the cups will, like my other bras, come up too high and cut into my arms. Deco, I just want to love you, stop being so difficult!
I was looking forward to this bra for months after I heard that Freya was finally expanding their longline size range to include 28 bands. When I saw the first promo pics, I was a 28G, so I was on the edge of the size range... By the time it was available to order, I'd gone up about a cup size and a half and so was sized out of the 28 bands. It was so pretty, though, that I decided to buy it in a 30G and hope for the best.
Unfortunately, it ended up being small in the cup. The band is comfortable on the tightest ...fastening and it feels so much more supportive with that added length. I don't know why this doesn't come in anything higher than a G cup! However, the band does tend to roll up in the front, which is kind of annoying. The other thing that bothers me is the straps on the bra. They're fully adjustable, but soo stretchy that it felt like I had to tighten them up almost to the very end.
Looks-wise, the print is even better in real life. and the lace is just the perfect touch. The seams show through a thin shirt. I would really have loved it if this bra had fit... Read more 112 more words
I'm not totally sure if this bra is the wrong cup size or the wrong style for me or both. I don't think this bra is suited for full on bottom or for boobs that do not lay naturally towards the center. The fabric is pretty thin and see-through.
I think this is a good bra if you have wide set breasts like mine. I went for a 30FF instead of a 32FF and I find that the band and straps fit great. I'm getting just a little bit of quadboob, but this is nothing compared to bras I've worn in the past, not knowing what my correct size was! I will continue to see how it fits, but in the future I might go up a cup. The straps are really comfortable: the material is soft and they don't dig into my shoulders or slide around and fall down. The inside of the cups aren't scratchy -- I'm really picky about that. My breasts are delicate creatures that hate rough and itchy lace! I would for sure buy another Freya bra. The clashing prints on this one is so cute, and I had to buy the matching underwear https://d28qt14g3opchh.cloudfront.net/smileys/icon_smile.gif" alt=":)" />
