Appearance & Construction Fabric content: 66% polyester, 20% elastane, 14% nylon/polyamide. This bra is unlined with three-part cup construction. The cups are made from an opaque, printed, non-stretch material, with the upper section being embroidered, sheer, non-stretch mesh. The embroidery can show through a bit on fitted tops. The wings are a slightly sheer, printed, stretch mesh. The straps are made of a thick, opaque, stretch material, with the print continued on the front half of the straps and the back made of a thick white fabric with criss-cross stitching. The straps can be shortened past the point where the print starts. ... The Lollipop color has a white background with raspberry colored bow print. The raspberry color is deep and bright, not at all neon. There are satin ribbon bows at the center gore and where the straps meet the cups. The bows are pale purple with white polka dots. The back fastens with two rows of three hook-and-eye closures.
Fit This bra was a bit too loose in the band on the tightest hook (expected), but the center gore did lay flat. There was a slight amount of bulging (quad-boob) on the left side (my larger side), but the cup didn't appear to be cutting into my breast tissue. The right side seemed to fit well. I didn't notice any gaps or puckering, and the top mesh section laid flat without cutting in or gaping. The shape was pointy, but shortening the straps helped reduce the issue somewhat. The shape was also a little droopy, but tightening the band and straps helped with that as well. Wearing a correctly-fitting band may help with these issues. My underbust is 31.5 inches when measured very tightly, so a 32 or possibly even 30 band would be a better fit for me. (This bra was on sale with limited sizes when I purchased it, or else I would have gotten a smaller band in the first place.) The material was soft and smooth, and the bra overall seemed comfortable except for the straps cutting into the front of my armpits a little (a common issue for me). Read more 265 more words
Look/Quality: I feel like this bra is well-made, and of course it's absolutely adorable. I love the red fabric with white polka dots, and the mesh with embroidery on the top is lovely. The bows are a nice touch without being too much, and the little embellishments on the band/straps are cute, too. However, I rated the bra's appearance as "good" instead of "excellent" because it gives a somewhat pointy shape that I find too pointy for my personal preferences. I like to have a more rounded look, and this bra just doesn't do that for me. That said, if you like a more "natural" shape, this bra ...might be perfect for you!
Fit: I think the band is too loose for me, even though it's a 28 band and I have a 29" ribcage and the bra was brand new when I got it. I think you could probably size down in this bra if you want to and are able to (obviously that's not an option for those of us that wear 28 bands). I got some quadboob on my left side (the bigger side), but I think sizing up in the cup might have fixed that. I got gaping on my right side, but only because it's smaller than my left. I was expecting that. The wires were a bit too wide for me, but I seem to have a very narrow root. The gore was also sitting on breast tissue, but I think that has more to do with my shape than the bra too; I seem to have close-set breasts (I can only fit one finger between them), so the gore will probably work for someone who has breasts that aren't so close-set. This is my first unlined bra since I've been fitted properly - actually, my first unlined bra in many years! If it wasn't so adorable, I probably wouldn't have been tempted out of a molded/lined bra (I don't like when my nipples introduce themselves), especially not into a Freya (I believe I read someone describe the shape they give as 'twin torpedoes' ) that I couldn't try on and be sure about before purchasing.
I'm very, very glad that this adorable bra exists! It fits very well, no pointy breasts to report (yes, less rounded than a Freya Deco (4234), but not pointy)! The band fits snugly ...(though I can fasten it on the tightest row of hook and eyes), and I think the cups fit perfectly. I can line my nipples up with the seams, so they don't become obvious. It's such a comfortable bra that I don't feel like I have it on at all.
The print is adorable, and the colours are great. I bought the matching underpants a while ago, and am happy that they will be able to have a matching bra!
I am excited for the potential to wear this (and potentially other unlined bras!) this summer, which I expect will be much cooler than a lined or molded bra. Read more 107 more words
I adore this pattern so so much, and the fit is pretty perfect for me. If you're familiar with Freya's other three-part unmolded plunges, then this is the same fit and cut. Quite comfortable. My only complaint is that the band seems loose even for Freya; it's similar to the Decos I've tried. As you can see, my 28 band stretches to 31". Normally I start off wearing Freya bras on the loosest or middle hook, but I've had to wear this on the tightest setting since I bought it. Considering my underbust isn't that small (27" ), that's a disappointment.
I am quite pleased with this bra, it is utterly gorgeous, and it looks not too bad on me. First, the band. It is loose for a 28, but you will not lose support as it is 6 hooks. I am getting lifted quite well as a 24, but will alter down just in preference.
Secondly the cups are moderately wide. The vertical seams give great lift, but on me it feels like the seams are lifting incredibly, whilst the rest of the cup isn't doing as much work. I have a strange wrinkle on the outside of the outer seam, but I am ...hoping it will go away with wear and wash. The cups are placed too far apart for me but it feels easy to sew. Usually Freya gores tend to be too painful for me to handle, but the wires on this bra is a lot more flexible, I can bend them outwards easily. The pain is subtle before bending, gone after.
The fabric is soft, and the quality is good, and the fancy straps are lovely! While I'm pretty sure I want to keep this bra, I don't think I will be purchasing more longlines from Freya. Read more 100 more words
The bra fits great in the cups while standing, although puckers around the straps when I sit down/slouch. The size down 30F, quad boobs for me standing so I went with this. Because there's no boning in the band, it rolls up sometimes which is super frustrating. Not the most comfortable bra, but really effing cute.
I just tried on one of these today brand new. 30FF and the whole upper part of the cup was too big. I was shocked. I think that the cups in Freya run big. Am I right? Such a cute bra I'm kind of sad it didn't fit me. I am going to try and return it.
The material of this bra is pretty strange, but it feels good and the translucency of the upper cup is kind of sexy.
I really couldn't stand the shape that this bra gave me, though. I have soft, pendulous breasts with a pretty even shape and this bra didn't give much lift. There was pretty much a straight line from my collar bones to my nipples, which for my particular body shape just made my breasts look saggy and torpedo-like.
Someone who was a bit firmer and more self supported would probably fill out this bra really nicely without having the funny shape problems that I had.
This bra looks a lot bigger on the outside because it has permanent push-up pads inside. This bra left deep marks after wearing it all day. I find the push-up pads make it harder to get the bra on properly.
I love this bra. It's comfortable and gives a wonderful shape despite the lack of wires. I'm really quite shocked that something wire-free could be so supportive (not sure that it would be super supportive for larger sizes though). It works well under most clothes, though it does give you 'butt cleavage' which is nice at times but not suitable for all situations! The cups are a good fit on me, and are slightly less rigid than the cups of the regular deco which works well for my full on bottom breasts as I don't get any gaping. I know the band looks a little big in the ...photo where I'm pulling it out but I have a 26 inch ribcage so pretty much all bands are too big, and despite it seeming too big it doesn't seem to ride up during the day. Overall this bra is wonderful. I wear it almost every day.
EDIT: Just want to add that having worn it, I agree with the other reviewers that the seams of the band can get a little scratchy after wearing it for a while, but this only happens in one spot on me. It doesn't really bother me as I don't notice it unless I've worn the bra for the whole day, and despite this it's still very comfortable and worth that small sacrifice for me. This bra is too small for me and I returned it. The band and cup were too small, causing the wires around the gore to dig into my breast tissue and a little bit of quadboob up top. I tried using an extender, but it caused the straps to be so far apart that they fell off my shoulders.
This bra was very cute and sheer, but unfortunately both a size (or two?) too small as well as cut for a more full on bottom shape. The band also ran quite firm - unusual for Freya - so some women will probably need to size up in the band.
If you're full on bottom with little upper fullness, this could be a great bra for you, but I warn women with wider, "squatter", roots that this bra can make the breasts look a bit wedge-like from the side.
I really love the way this bra looks on *other* people, but it's not right for me. I've been puzzled as to what the exact problem is, since the measurements are similar to those on other bras that *do* fit me correctly, and I've come to the conclusion it's just an incompatible shape for my breasts.
My boobs are somewhat evenly full, leaning towards FOT, but relaxed. They need some depth on the bottom to support fullness there, but not too much depth, or my breasts will relax into the bottom of the cup, and kind of hang there like tennis balls in a sock. I wear a bra ...for lift and support, so this is not a good thing. I think the Lyla is too shallow in the bottom of cup for me, so my breasts tissue gets pushed to the middle of the cup, which isn't meant to support so much weight, and so the whole bra shifts downwards. With perfect posture and a swoop-and-scoop, I can get my bras to look ok in this bra for a minute, but before long, I end up with underwires that don't sit at my inframmary fold, tons of wrinkling at the bottom of the cup, and somewhat droopy looking boobs, with wrinkling at the top of the cup also.
I think this bra is better for the perky-breasted and very FOT. If my breasts didn't need so much structure to put the volume where it should be, I doubt I would have gotten the breast-tissue-pushes-everything-down problem.
Other than that, in 28G, I found the bra to be fuller-coverage than I was expecting. The center gore is pretty high for a supposed plunge bra, and the entirety of my breast tissue was covered. When I put a regular ribbed tank on over the bra, I had to consciously adjust the shirt so that the top of the cups wouldn't peek out the neckline. I could wear a high V-neck tee with this bra, but I would not feel comfortable in anything low cut. If it weren't for the label, I would have called this bra full-coverage.
Lastly, the seams on this bra stick out more than those on similarly cut bras I own. Not sure why this is, but it further limits the versatility of this bra for me.
Needless to say, I've sent this bra back, and I've crossed similarly cut Freya's off my "to try" list. Read more 296 more words
I love the back of this bra, but would need a cup size up. I hate that it has 3 part cups/seams...side view is pointy https://d28qt14g3opchh.cloudfront.net/smileys/icon_sad.gif" alt=":(" />
I was on the fence about buying this bra, and I'm very happy I did!
I love the colour - it's such a bright pink. The front of the bra feels supportive around the cups, and the molded cups are very comfortable. After ordering, but before receiving this bra, I read reviews that it was padded on the inside at the bottom. While it is, it's not heavily padded like a Victoria's Secret bra. I would say that the padding is maybe like a doubled-up version of the molded part of the cup.
As I've found with the other Decos, a 32 band is maybe a little big for me. I can fasten it on the tightest hooks (I have a 29" ribcage), but it feels like it's alright there, not too loose. Over time I'm sure I'll have to shorten the band.
The top of the cup comes to what I think is a better height for me than on the full-cup decos. It provides the same nice shape and support that the full cups do.
I'm really satisfied with this bra. At the beginning I wanted the plunge-balconette, but I could only find a cheap half cup in my size. I'm not a fan of half-cups but I'm glad I tried because this model really fits well and is comfortable.
Size and fit: I based the size on what I wear in Arabella, so 30FF instead of more obvious 32F. It gives me snugger band and wider cups. I'd say it's perfect. The bra is brand new and I only wore it about three times, so I can feel it's pretty snug, but comfortable and when it get looser with time it should still ...be ok. I'm pleasantly surprised that the gore is comfortable, I usually avoid higher gores and opt for very low plunges, but this one is ok, not too tall and doesn't poke. This bra provides good support and hold breasts pretty well, so there is less shaking than in an average plunge. Shape differs from Freya's plunge-balconettes. It's has more blunt profile, but not as flat as in some other bras (masquerade rhea, curvy kate tease me), slightly rounded and pushes breasts up giving nice cleavage.
The look: It's very pretty! really nice choice of colours and pattern. I believe the straps could be narrower. The overall style is really successful, good balance between elegant and cute, as some of Freya pattern are sometimes a lot on the 'fun and girly' side and this one is moderate, it doesn't look neither silly nor overly sensual or glamour. I think it's a good choice if somebody's looking for that - cute, but not silly. Or if you're looking a bra for well-developed young girl. Read more 169 more words
I wore this bra almost daily for eight months - this was my go-to bra. Finally, when the band loosened too much, I altered the centre gore, which made it tighter and also created more uplift and slightly more room in the cups, making for a better fit.
Pre-alteration: The bra was comfortable, created a nice round shape, and had natural lift. Because it's unpadded, it doesn't add any unnecessary bulk. The band is firm and on the tighter side for a 32, but it worked well for me as I was able to start on the farthest hooks. The underwires didn't dig anywhere and the straps ...were wider, soft, and comfortable. The bra pressed in ever so slightly at the top (i.e quadrabooob), but sizing up would have made the cups far too big for me, so 32H it was.
Post-alteration: Taking in the centre core when the band had stretched out made the bra even better! The band is very tight now (I'm actually using an extender to add one column of hooks for the moment), but very supportive. Taking in the gore turned the cups so that my breasts are more uplifted than before, there is more room in the cups (no quadraboob!), and the gore now lies flat against my sternum.
I absolutely love this bra! My breasts are asymmetrical, so the cup gapes a little on my smaller breast and is slightly too small on my larger breast. However it looks great under a shirt!
I also like that this bra gives me a nice amount of cleavage without push-up padding. It causes my breasts to be positioned more front & center on my torso, which I feel like is a more flattering silhouette. It is comfortable and supportive.
I love the strap width and the fact that they are fully adjustable.
My ribcage is 29" and even though the 30E seems to be a decent enough fit, I would be interested in trying on a 28F. I think I would prefer the band to be a little snugger.
This bra gets better with extended wear. When I first got it, the band was uncomfortably snug, to the degree where it was torture wearing it for any extended amount of time because it did not give enough when breathing. Nothing was helped by the high gore, digging into my sternum. After lightly bending the gore outwards it became wearable, but it took close to two months of constant wear before the band started loosening enough to be comfortable.
As for fit, I wish it had slightly higher underwires on the sides because I have bottom heavy, wide set breasts that are naturally inclined to settle low and wide ...apart unless something stops them. When newly adjusted, the 32DD cup is on the small side, giving me a slight spill over effect due to the lace along the top cutting into the breast which is an indicator that ideally a 32E cup would probably be my size but because of the low sides breast tissue migrates during the day, emptying the very top and overfilling the bottom making the bra look too small on the bottom, too large on top.
To summarise, if you have breasts that are naturally more centre heavy and not too round on top and don't mind a very snug feeling band this would be a very good option. The material is wonderful, soft and breathable despite being lace. It looks gorgeous. It holds up remarkably well, considering it is now over a year old and has been my go-to bra for the last year.
