Labelled a UK 30E, but purchased as and comparable to a US 30DDD.

This just does not work for me. It's supposed to be full coverage but it is not! It actually has smaller cups than the Freya Rio, and about the same cup dimensions as the Freya Pollyanna but with a slightly longer underwire, so this bra is really more of a plunge, not full coverage. The center (main) seam running horizontally across the cup is place far too low by about 1". Maybe they did that on purpose because it's a "retro" style, I don't know, but it's the main reason why these cups run too small ... on everyone despite them having an appropriate cup depth for the specific size. For example, my 30E/DDD has a cup depth of 8.75" which would coincide with that cup size. Because the seam is place so low it causes the breast tissue to be pushed down instead of up. I might as well not even wear a bra if I wanted to go for that look. (Btw, I look bigger from the side naked than with this bra on...that should tell you something)

The cups almost look like they are a size too big on me in the pictures, but I can assure you it's just the angle. They are not cut high enough for me and you can see how they are pushing down on the breast tissue, but I think going up to a 30F/DDDD would be too large. The band is too big for me, unstretched it's the same measurement as my ribcage. I bought this when I was still trying to find my right size, I was wearing 34D and 32DD but the bands were too big and this one looked like a nice basic.

I have altered the straps, in an attempt to get this to fit I cut and resewed the straps back onto the elastic part of the straps by a little over 1". They hold together just fine, did a couple rows of straight stitching following by a tight zigzag stitch over that.

I've been eyeing this bra for a while, so I was really happy when it arrived. What I like most about Freya bras is that they always come in fun colours and patterns and this one is no exception. I absolutely love the mesh and embroidered top panel. One thing that's different about this bra, than with Freya bras I tried on in the past is that striped fabric (on the cups) is also on the straps, but it's still fully adjustable.

The fit was great, I didn't have any issues with that. The shape it gave me was alright, natural and a ... bit rounded. I would probably only wear this bra with slimmer fitting shirts. When I tried it with a looser shirt, I looked a bit pointy, but when I tried a tighter fitting t-shirt, I was better able to see the curve under the breast so it looked better in my opinion.

Overall, it's a cute bra. I don't like it as much as the Panache Andorra, but it's still a good one. https://d28qt14g3opchh.cloudfront.net/smileys/icon_smile.gif" alt=":)" />

Edit: So I wore this bra today and I've concluded that I'm not overly fond of the shape it gave me. Kind of pointier than I'd like.

Similar bras to this bra are Freya Polyanna/Millie/Edith/Latisha/Feya. They are all based upon the same cut. The bras of this cut have been dubbed as the "Polyanna-family".

I tried this bra out and I cannot recommend it to other women with large breasts.

I normally wear 40 and some 42 bands, if I want to wear 38 band with Panache I always have to use an extension. But I could close the Millie on the tightest hook at first try with room to give. I might even have been able to sqeeze myself into a 36 band if I had been so inclined.

Short, the band is loose and stretchy. What makes it worse is that the wires are soft and wobbly too and stretch along with the band. The fabric of the cup also ... tends to give to pressure. I found it wholy unsupportive and not suitable for larger sizes, especially not if you have soft breasts.

However the Millie is a sister model of the Freya Polyanna. If you find that you like the cut of the Millie but dislike the wobblyness of this bra try the Polyanna. The fabric of the Polyanna is much sturdier and far more supportive, the band doesn't stretch as much and the wires are harder and less likely to give. Other bras with the same cut are Freya Nancy, Freya Latisha, Freya Edith and Freya Feya, but I don't know how supportive these are.

  5. Rio Balcony Bra (3510)

For me, this bra fits well, gives a great round profile and supports well. However, the material is quite boring, but at the same time visibile through tight-fitting tops, which means that it's neither good-looking nor practical. The material is in two layers, probably fused together, however, the upper one has started to "move" and wrincle just a bit.

It as a sligtly lower center and is the closest to the Freya Polyanna I've found in 28GG.

This bra claims to be padded, but is NOT padded in the slightest. Its odd shape coupled with its lack of padding left it with no support. As far as I can tell, this bra might work for someone with torpedo boobs, but close-set round boobs had quad-boob on top and didn't fill the bottom of the cups. Had the bra actually been padded as the name implies, it might have worked.

  7. Jolie Plunge Balcony (4101)

This is my current favorite. It is full coverage, while still being a low enough plunge to be modest in a v-neck top. It's mesh and lace, which is super comfortable. The cups are a tiny bit stretchy, so it's still comfortable through monthly size fluctuations. For some, the cups may not be structured enough. The underwire pokes me in the sternum, but I remedy that by pushing the underwire toward the sides of the bra since the wires aren't as long as the space given for them. I've only had it for a few months, and it is beginning to stretch in the band. It's pretty, too!

    Look and feel:

The bra is white, covered in small green, purple and aqua flowers. The band has a mesh fabric whereas the cups do not, although the flower pattern is on the band as well. The top panel of the cups is made of aqua coloured lace which I find really pretty.

    Fit:

This bra gives a nice natural shape. The band is nice a firm, and the cups fit snuggly. There's some wrinkling at the top of the cups but I think going down a size would be too small, since it fits fine everywhere else. I would say that this bra is the Freya Jolie in a different fabric, since the fit for me feels almost identical.

This seems like a basic strapless bra, although it doesn't quite fit so I can't really say too much about the fit of it. It has 4 places on the cup and on the band to attach the straps if you want. It also has a bit of what I think is silicone on the band to help prevent it from slipping. The silicone itself isn't too sticky.

Edit (more description): The foam on the cups is not thick and there's no cookies or anything like that. It's also soft and pliable and not at all rigid.

It's a basic balconette bra, not really much to say about it. I think it only comes in one colour, which is like a mauve (although it's called dusty rose I believe). The fabric on the cups have a bit of a shine to it, and it feels smooth against the skin.

    Fit:

The band fits fine. The cups techincally fit fine but it really flattened me and there was some wrinkling on the top seam of the cup.

I bought this size since the 28E was too small for me. My review for the 28E is here: http://bratabase.com/browse/freya/halle-4501/28E/.

This cups on this size fit a lot better on me. They come up high on the sides like a full cup, but it's a plunge style since the wires in front are low. It also gives a nice natural shape as well. The only issue I had was that one of the cups was baggy, but that's because I'm a bit smaller on one side.

I initially bought this bra, because I love the fabrics Freya uses in their spring collections. https://d28qt14g3opchh.cloudfront.net/smileys/icon_smile.gif" alt=":)" /> That being said, in person, the bra is a lot more yellow in person (here's a link to Figleaves listing http://www.figleaves.com/uk/product.asp?product=Freya-Loretta-Underwired-Plunge-Bra&product_id=FRA-AA4751&size=&colour=Blues) and in my opinion not as nice. Overall, I thought it would be a bit paler.

In terms of fit, this almost worked for me. It gave good lift and support, and the shape was nice too, but it was just slightly too big. The top seam (where the top mesh meets the two bottom sections) is where it would wrinkle, which then causes the cutting in effect.

I don't think Freya bras really work well for my anymore. https://d28qt14g3opchh.cloudfront.net/smileys/icon_sad.gif" alt=":(" />

  13. Deco Moulded Strapless Bra (4233)

For a strapless bra, I love this. I have never, ever had a strapless bra that was comfortable and stayed up. And it's not a granny bra, which is fantastic. Gives good cleavage, but not a ton. It's a good amount. I don't feel like I'm going to fall out, and you don't see it under low cut dresses and tops. Overall, a great bra!

So I'm kind of in love with this bra. =) From the first moment I tried it on, it just felt right... I mean, it's so comfortable and looks amazing too!! It gives a really nice shape, but when I first wore it, it seemed a little pointy when looked at from the side. That went away after a wash or two, though, and now it's perfect... Still, I have to be careful of wearing this under thin shirts or with light colors because it's completely see through.

This is a good bra - the band is fairly snug compared to some other Freya bras, the material is very nice. My only complaints is that it has a fairly pointy shape, and that the lace band at the top really accentuates the fact that my right breast is a bit smaller than my left. I am contemplating sewing a tiny dart into the lace to alleviate this problem although it really is not noticeable through clothes.

    • Hi, O noticed that you listed the distance between the cups as a full inch. Would you mind measuring again? The photos show that this just isn't possible. Remember, measure the space between the *wires* where they are closest.

    • 1

@ reptilegrrl: Please read the instructions on how to measure bras on this website.

The woman who measured this bra did so correctly. 1" space is fairly common and accurate for a lot of bra sizes (that's what a lot of mine measure at and they're smaller than a 34G)

      "Cup separation:
Measure the closest point where the cups meet, from the inside of one cup to the other." - Meaning you measure on the Outside of the underwires, not the inside. If you measured on the inside and excluded the underwires from this measurement it would indicate the cups or band should be wider than they are.

Generous, comfortable cups, with lift & separation. Rounded silhouette. Pretty embroidery. But I have the same problem I do with Fantasie: the band is made of a harsh mesh material, with rough elastic that does not lie flat. I can only wear this bra for about 5 hours before the side wing fabric begins to rub raw spots on my skin.

Updated on Jul 30, 2011 Flag this

    • In this case, the band is rubbing on you because it is too big. A tightly-fitting band of the proper size doesn't move around, so you don't get the rubbing. The cups are too big as well, since you can't fill them and the wires are too wide. You should downsize in both band and cup.

    • Thanks for the thoughts, but that's definitely not the problem. If anything, I could stand to go up to a G. I get a perfect fit in both the Mischa & Iona in this size - but they're a nice soft satiny fabric, not mesh. The band's not moving around at all; it's snug on the middle hook. It's the mesh fabric of this style that is the problem for me. I find it rough on my skin & not flexible enough to conform to my boobs.

Ok, so I'm still working towards figuring out my real bra size through trial and error...

Band size is good, though a little tight since it's a new bra. Cup size is definitely too small, though. No matter how I arrange myself in the cup, I'm still spilling out. This isn't very noticeable from the front, and looks just fine under a shirt. But, this messes up with how the bra is supposed to look in profile... I should be lifted up, but instead it makes me point downward with all of the excess breast tissue coming up over the top of the cup. Not a good look. However, the bra itself is gorgeous. I got it in Cassis, and the color combination is so so pretty. For now, I'll have to return it, but I'll try it when I can in a 28G.

This bra has been reviewed alot, but I'd like to just briefly add my perspective as a non-moulded cup wearer. I don't really see this as becoming an everyday bra for me, but I have to say it's pretty comfortable. The moulded cups seem to increase the size and/or appearance of my boobs, which isn't always preferable, but I can see it being useful occasionally. The cleavage is great - on par with the photos on the site. The bra feels pretty secure even though so much of the breast is exposed and remains wobbly. I think I could have gone with either ... the 30 F or 30 FF, as the F is slightly small in the cup and can have some quad boob if I don't adjust myself very carefully.

I just received this today (from Clara-Olivia.com, which had good service), so I can't comment on the band stretching issues or longevity.

After a long time of wearing full cup bras, I'm pretty stoked to have this as an extra bit of arsenal in the lingerie drawer, and to get to shopping for some scoop neck tops to wear with it.

    Perfect =)

I've been wearing one of these in the wrong size (32dd, non-returnable), so I already knew what a great bra this is. The shape is perfectly rounded, fantastic uplift, it has fully adjustable straps, etc. All this apparent even with the older bra, but I'm happy that I now have a version that actually fits as it should. Band size, just right. The center gore sits flat against my frame and it doesn't dig in at all. The shape of the underwire is just right. It's not too wide, not too narrow. I'm not spilling out of the cups, and this one is more seamless ... under shirts than the ill-fitting one. It holds me in, and I feel secure that I won't fall out if I bend over. Best of all, this bra gives wonderful cleavage AND it's my favorite color! (Lupin is a more jewel tone purple than it appears in pictures)

Basically, I'm more in love with Freya Deco every day!! =D

*I have to note, though, that before I was wearing a cup size too small in the older bra, but didn't even realize it for the longest time since this thing just doesn't cut into my breasts in any way. No quad-boob effect here, though my boobs did feel little more jiggly when I walked. Still, the shape was perfectly rounded, and it wasn't until I noticed that the underwires didn't quite encircle the breasts correctly that I had that little epiphany. So, watch for that when it comes to fit...

Very pretty but a bit odd-fitting. Even though I have a small bulge on one side, it still wrinkles slightly at the bottom of the cup.
Just like any Freya, it is stretching quite fast but looks precious and is available in a great number of sizes.
