The Freya Starlight Side Support is a nice bra with a lot to like. However, it's just one of those styles I don't absolutely love, since I paid full price for it. Thus, I decided not to keep it, but would still like to comment on this bra's positive points.
First, this bra reminded me so much of the Agent Provocateur Sidonie from AW 2011. A classic, retro-style bra made from rigid, open black lace, Starlight doesn't have the gorgeous daisy lace pattern of Sidonie, but it has a far nicer cup construction and supportive design. This is a three piece cup with side panel ...that is solidly constructed. The band is firm and supportive, and the gore is much taller and more stable than Sidonie. Design details are minimal, with just a tiny ribbon tack at the gore, and subtle gold hardware.
The main problem with this bra is that the lace is SO stiff and scratchy. I thought the lace on Freya Fancies and Freya Daisy was stiff, but that's nothing. If you close your eyes and touch this bra, it feels somewhere between a burlap sack and a fishing net. It's not uncomfortable to me once it's on, but it makes handling the bra very unpleasant to me. The stiff lace also affects the fit, as it doesn't sit as smoothly on the body as a softer material. Ultimately the lace for me was the dealbreaker on this bra, and while I'm sure it will soften up with washing, I just don't want to deal with it.
The other point to note regarding this bra is that it is the exact same cut as the Freya Rose Tapestry Side Support Bra. That particular bra gave me serious orange-in-a-glass issues due to the narrow width of the underwire, while this particular bra fit me fine as the cup width was about 1 cm bigger. Thus, this cup construction plus the rigid fabric is not very forgiving in the fit. There also seems to be something unusual about the grading of the cups when you get to larger cup sizes, based on the reviews of others. Other than that, the band felt secure and comfortable, and I had no particular fit issues. I also tried 28D, which was predictably too small for me, but felt true to size.
This is a lovely retro-style bra, but I would definitely recommend you try before you buy to determine if the shape and fabric are for you. Read more 319 more words
Freya Rose Tapestry is probably one of the few printed bras that I am actually drawn to, since I usually prefer to wear solids. However, unfortunately the shape of this bra is not a good match for me. While Freya lace bra seem to work well for me, I've been struggling with the fit of their fabric bras, and have concluded that the narrow wires in many of the styles just isn't for me.
First, the styling of the bra: I really like the feminine rose print, which has a bit of a digital pixelated effect to make it look slightly more abstract. The fabric ...is a supportive yet lightweight poly/nylon blend that feels really comfortable (same as Freya Fearne), and the geo lace detail is not quite soft, but certainly not as rough as Fancies or the sharkskin-like Starlight Side Support Bra. There are silver connectors on the straps, and the center gore has ribbon with a triangular silver charm. Not my favorite details, but they are subtle and don't bother me.
The cut of this bra is identical to the Starlight Side Support Bra, with a three-piece cup with side sling panel. This shape usually works well for me (Panache Envy), however this bra in particular has very narrow wires. The width of the cups measures smaller than my Starlight, so I get the orange in a glass effect because I can't squeeze in to the cup and fill it out. While the top edge sits flush against my skin, the cup looks a little baggy. If this bra were final sale, I would probably adjust the wires and open them up, but I didn't want to mess with this bra in case this didn't work out, and decided to return it.
If you have a narrower and more projected shape, I would highly recommend this bra as a beautiful and comfortable option. The shape is a little retro, but not as pointy as Panache Tango or Panache Andorra. Overall I love the style, but I need wider and shallower cups. Read more 244 more words
This bra is so cute! I love the longline! Encapsulates breasts well, and seems to be correct size. The underwire is a bit tall at the gore and at the armpit, but not so much that I didn't like it. I have fairly shallow, wide/tall rooted breasts, fyi.
In short - this bra is wide, shallow and creates a very east-west look. The cups are made from one layer of soft molded foam, covered with one layer of stretch lace. From the point of view of looks, the foam is a light neon pink, and together with the beige lace overlay it creates a fresh look. The bottom of the band and the sides of the straps also have thin neon pink accents which make it look very cohesive. The materials are all soft, including the elastics on the band and the straps. When I got this bra, my best fitting one was the Freya Deco and ...I had hoped this bra would be like a Deco with a lace overlay on top of the cups. This is definitely not the case. Unlike the Deco, this bra does not create any cleavage at all. It even manages to create less cleavage than being braless! Although it's a plunge, it creates a very east-west look as the shallow cups pull the tissue out to the sides. This bra would work well for someone with more outer fullness and wide roots. One thing I liked about it is that the wires are quite short, both the gore (at 7cm) and the wing (at 10ish), so this could be a nice option for someone short rooted. The gore is also rather on the wide side, so that's also a point to consider. Read more 132 more words
Freya has turned out to be one of my favorite brands because of the availability of 28DD across so many styles, and thus I decided to give the Deco Plunge a try when looking for a new seamless lightly lined t-shirt bra.
However, I was surprised to find that this style fits nothing like the unlined Freyas I've tried. Though I was warned in advance through reviews that the cups run narrow and tall, I really had no idea what this meant until I tried the bra on for myself.
But getting the bra on was a challenge. Since I wear such a small band size, there's been ...less than a handful of bras where I felt the band was too small. This is the absolute smallest of the bunch, and I could barely get the band fastened. On the plus side, this means that the band is very powerful and firm. I would definitely need to size up to a 30 in order to fit this band.
The cups, however, are indeed just as narrow and tall as they were reputed to be. They pushed me to the center and gave me great cleavage, but I really couldn't do much to improve their fit since the band was squeezing me like an anaconda. Unlike Cleo Maddie and Lexi's abnormally short cups, which visually look too small on me despite fitting well, Deco's cups looked disproportionately tall and huge on my frame. Because of this cup shape mismatch, I don't plan to try this in a 30D.
I would suggest sizing up in the band in this style, and avoiding it entirely if you are petite as the proportions may look very strange on you. However, this is the most powerful and supportive bra I've ever encountered, and might be a good choice for those who need a 26 band and can't find anything small enough. Read more 213 more words
Daisy was one of the first batches of Freya bras I ordered, when I didn't know how the brand fit and what my ideal size would be. 30C was the cheapest price on Amazon and is one of the sizes that sometimes fits me, but once I tried this on, I knew it was a poor choice.
In my experience so far, I am a true 28 band in Freya unlined bras (aka everything except the Deco), and some of the bands run slightly large. Thus it's no surprise that the 30 band is definitely too big and rides up quite a bit on me.
I was also ...surprised by the scratchiness of the lace fabric on the cups. I have now amassed quite a large collection of Fancies in various colors, and that style is also pretty stiff, but it's not noticeable when worn. The Daisy lace felt noticeably scratchy and somewhat uncomfortable when I tried it on. However, my least favorite part of this bra is the styling of the cups. The stock photo makes this look like a pretty standard Freya 3 piece cut & sew, but in this size, the proportions are totally different and it reminded me of a little girl's training bra. The stretch geo lace used in the cups also tends to create a pointy appearance (hard to describe, but not like a bullet bra, just weirdly angular), though the cups here were a little big on me and this might be minimized if the cup ran small instead. There's also a strange little triangular charm in the center front.
Unfortunately, this has turned out to be my least favorite Freya bra I've tried. I'm not sure who this style would best suit, but I think it would be better in a slightly larger cup size on fuller, more rounded, firm breasts. Read more 207 more words
Me: 30F/32E. Center full, close set, relatively even when supported, tall-ish roots. Not particularly narrow - average to wide roots. Soft tissue. Shoulders are on the slightly narrow side so some balconettes have straps that are too wide for me.
Gore on tissue, significantly digging in despite being pretty low. Otherwise a good fit - good shape, wires seem to be wide enough and mostly stay put. I like the round shape and the wire channels have a nice soft fabric on top, plus there's a lining inside the cup that's comfortable. Probably a nice option for people who are used to molded cups. I tightened the straps slightly and the edge of the cup didn't stick up at all! Ugh. Stupid gore.

Keyhole back one with only one hook didn't feel less supportive so that's cool. Band is very stretchy/loose out of the box so I tried wearing it on the tightest hook. Discomfort around gore/wires - I think they’re rubbing on tissue because they’re sitting on it, a common problem for me. Also the upper section of the cup cut into my tissue (tall roots thing). The depth of the cup/overall shape was good - depth where needed at the bottom and apex.
The wire channels have a nice amount of padding. I wish this one had worked!
One of my favourite Deco bras - love the dark blue colour and leopard print details. Deco is one of the few ranges from Freya that I can wear, many of their other collections run much too loose in the band so I struggle to find a comfortable fit without drastically taking in the band. This one does run a little larger in the band than what I'm used to so I wear it on the middle hooks, but it has not yet stretched out enough to need to start clasping it on the tightest set so it's still got plenty of life in it, despite being a ...year or two old with regular wear. It stays comfortably in place all day, doesn't slip down or dig in uncomfortably, even when sitting at a desk with my horrifically poor posture. My only real gripe is the width of the straps - but they are very comfortable and don't dig in. Despite the band only having 2 hooks in 28G it remains very supportive, but I would prefer the reinforcement/security of 3 hooks. The j-hook option is a nice touch but I don't find myself wearing it that way as it makes the band sit a little baggy along the top edge on me. Read more 105 more words
Deco is great. I can do it in 30F but it’s a little bit of a tall cup and is visible under top except perhaps a thicker sweater. It’s still slightly too shallow for me but it somehow works with my soft tissue.
Incredibly comfortable, but not suitable for close set boobs. My boobs also quadded a lot after maybe an hour or use despite fitting inside after the scoop and swoop. The cup really didn't suit my boobs, I guess.
Fairly bright, cute colour. Straps were surprisingly long: had to hike them halfway up my back. The cups fit flat across the top and have a cute shape, but still a little room at the bottom and sides. The band was so big I'm already on the tightest hook. When it stretches I'll have to take it in. I could probably do that now, even. ETA: trying it on again there way more extra fabric than I remember.
It's a plane and boring strapless t-shirt bra: molded cups and about no decoration. But this is really a must-have for summer dresses. The color is very nice for my pale skin. The band is very snug and quite wide. I think 26 band ladies could wear it. It has 3 silicon stripes ( 2 for the upper part and 1 for the lower part of the band). The cups give very round shape. They are not very deep at the wires, but they are a little deeper, then Cleo's bras ( I mean Neve/Koko). The cups are a little bit closed on top and the gore is rather high, so it's not a plunge bra, but sometimes I can wear it with V-shaped neckline. I've received the bra without any straps, and I'm going to wear it strapless, but it has different position to attach the straps.

This bra: yeah, the one hook thing really threw me. But it didn't feel less supportive than the many 2- and 3-hook bras I've tried. It also had the right distribution of cup depth. However, the top part of the cup/lace section cut into tissue, so it was too closed on top for me. Also, it was slightly too wide in the gore, so I could feel the wires around the center start to rub on tissue after a few minutes. That was the real dealbreaker.
Might work better for short/average roots. It had an okay amount of room for center fullness, just too wide-set for me.
This bra would be good for someone with tall roots and is FOT. Very open on top and extremely tall to be called a half cup.
I think this is a size too big for me and since I'm pretty short rooted and FOB it definitely doesn't work. The wire width seems good though, which is at least some info I can use.
I feel like its a great bra. My skin is sensitive but this bra doesnt affect me as much as Parfait, so that's good.
I ordered a tighter band, because I've had an experience with Freya bands being too loose/stretching fast. I wanted a bra that fits For a longer time than it doesnt fit.
I love the design and feel super cute.
Its not the most supportive bra but its still my favorite one I currently have. If it had the cut of Natori Feathers Plunge, Itd be even better
