I bought this bra or wear postpartum/post weight loss. Unfortunately, although I’ve lost almost all the weight, my breast size has barely changed, and this bra is much too small.
I like the softer aesthetic Freya has been using in their styles recently, a lot more than than their older, obnoxious, leopard print type stuff. If this was a 30G instead of F I’d definitely wear it.
This is my first experience with the Freya brand. There are a lot of things that work for me in this bra, but it is not quite right for me.
The good? The band easily stretches to 33" which is actually perfect for me as that is my snug underbust measurement (so 32" bands are often too tight, but 34" bands can be too loose). There is only one hook in the band. I thought that would be weird, but it feels fine and seems supportive enough.
The ok? The wires fit me reasonably well. They may be a little wider than I'd prefer, but they follow my inframammary ...fold fairly well. The gore tacks nicely and is comfortable. I think the cups have enough projection at the wire for me and I fill them fairly well, but this leads to the bad. The material is a little itchy/irritating, but I know that often resolves after washing/wearing a few times. I won't test that with this bra as I'm not keeping it.
The bad? The top of the cups don't fit me quite right. My larger breast quads in the cup a little. I don't think this would be a problem if the top of the cup was just stretch lace, but the strip of elastic digs in. I get some wrinkling where the lace meets the cup at the strap on both sides. I don't think this would show under a shirt, but it is still a little annoying. Finally, the seam placement allows my nipples to show through my shirt unless I ensure they are sitting behind the seam which isn't where they naturally fall. This may not be a problem for some people, but I'd prefer coverage in that area.
Overall, this is a bra that is almost, but not quite right for me. I won't be keeping it, but I will consider other Freya offerings and may even revisit this bra again in the future. Read more 218 more words
I wanted to like this one as the bra is cute and seems to be well made, but it didn't work for me. The band was ok - it seems to run true to size, but is maybe a little firmer than I'd prefer. However, molded cups are a challenge for me and this is no exception. There isn't enough projection at the wire, so my breast tissue isn't getting down into the bottom of the cup. Instead, they push on the cup and create a weird fold at the bottom of the cup. The wires are probably too wide for me (the underwire nearly hits my back), ...so I'm not filling the sides out. Additionally, I get some gaping at the top of the cups, especially on my smaller breast. Even if I filled out the top of the cup more, I think you would see the line from this bra under a shirt because the bra itself is pretty thick (4-5mm). Finally, the straps are too far apart for my shoulders. Sometimes that is okay, but it doesn't work here because it exasperates the cup gaping.
Even though the bra didn't work for me, I think it is worth a shot.
As for me, I'm still on the hunt for the perfect T-shirt bra. Read more 106 more words
The band of this bra is quite loose on me: I could easily fasten it on the 2nd set of hooks right away. The gore tacks nicely and I fill the bottom of the cups well but the top of the cups is a different story: I can fold a good 1-1/2" of extra fabric over itself on both sides. Also, the underwires are very wide, reaching all the way to my back past my underarms. I think I need to try this bra is a smaller band size and cup size since both 36GG and 36H are too big. Other than that, the fabric of this bra is quite sheer and it has an interesting silver line all the way in the center of the straps (on a black bra) that makes it look a bit different.
This is the first Freya bra I have tried. The 36" band is fairly loose on me; I could immediately fasten it on the 2nd set of hooks and be comfortable. On me, the gore tacks and the bottom of the cups is well filled but there is a lot of extra fabric at the top of the cups (as in I could fold 1/2" of fabric over itself at the top of the cups on both sides). The wires are slightly wide but not too bad. The fabric is fairly see through but not too scratchy. I will be returning this bra but I might try it again in 36G.
This was my first time trying the foam lined balcony cup from Freya. I ordered a cup size smaller based on the reviews on HerRoom, but I probably should've stuck with my usual size. I don't find this cup to be generous. It's just taller than a plunge, and since I have a tall root, a G would've been just fine.
The band is tighter than any other Freya bra I've tried, and the straps are pretty thin so they can feel like they dig in a little. I'm not happy with the quality of this bra. I bought it last fall and have worn it maybe 5 times. ...I always wash my bras in the machine because I like clean clothes. My other bras from Freya hold up very well to this abuse, but this one has lint fuzz all over the cup trim. And in general the cups are stiff, all the edges and trim on this are stiff... This could be the reason why it's not as stretchy as a typical Freya. But it's not a comfortable bra. I do like the contrasting yellow lace against the light gray. It's a good step away from Freya's bubblegum look. Read more 92 more words
This bra might work well for self-supporting or firm breasts. It kind of makes my soft/pendulous boobs look smooshed. I also wish they made this in a 28 band, because it's even more stretchy & long than other Freyas I've tried. I do appreciate the very slight padding (it's not substantial) for days I went a little more nip coverage.
Depending on the day, this sometimes feels like the best fit for my breast shape. It cuts in a tiiiiny bit (quadding), but the 30E had a bit of wrinkling in the upper part of the cups. I've been wearing the 28F with an extender while I break it in, because for some reason, despite this being one of my best fits, it feels the most "boob cagey" to me. This bra seems like it's going to hold up very well over time. The straps are the thickest/widest I've had in awhile. Wish the gore was a little narrower and/or lower; that might fix the slight quadding.
Oh how I wanted this bra to work in this size. I got it for $20, I love the color, and the feel of the bra is so nice. Unfortunately, I just get some insane quad and can not overcome it. It shows under clothing badly. I know this bra is shallow, but my soft tissue fell right into it and felt supported with the stiff cups. Unfortunately, this is another bra that provides too much coverage in the armpit/sides, and not enough in the front of the cups. Sizing up I think would leave me gapping at the top of the cup where I can’t quite fill ...this one (about a finger width), way too much side fabric, and wires going too high and wide. So I don’t think I’ll try it. I so want a nice nude-ish moulded bra to wear under light colored clothing and I wanted this to be the one. It has so many features I love. The J hook in back, the non slip straps, the petty details, the smooth and uplifting cups, the non pokey wires. Alas, it just is too small in the cup for my very forward, center full breasts that are very soft. Read more 95 more words
This bra was from a sale on here a few years ago and I'm just getting around to measuring it now. The cups are ever so slightly looser than other Decos in this size but that could be from wearing it and the cups stretching to fit. The band has not stretched out, but I'm also only working with 2" of negative ease. I should probably wear 26 according to some but prefer the feel of 28. I might wear this bra on the middle or smallest eyes depending on the day. For the most part it fits like a 28G Deco.
It's very comfortable. Though I do wish ...Freya didn't put a cup trim on this because it does show through shirts. It has the option to wear as a racerback but I find it uncomfortable at my neck. I keep the clips for this at the front of the bra (as seen in photos - those are NOT the adjusters). Really wish they were removable. So when you have them in the back or at the top and you're trying to take off a camisole, the straps from your cami, or any shirt for that matter, get stuck in the racerback clips. slightly too big, band is pretty tight, even after a year I still wear with an extender (so it was really tight when I just got it, takes time to break in, but again, I dont wear it very often-leaves marks). But I like the support it gives me.
This bra is super comfortable and gives great shape, but isn't projected enough at the bottom for me - repeated wears have caused the cup to buckle to accommodate my projection.
I want to love this bra. It's so cute. But I hate it.
The Good: 1) It's cute. I have it in white. It's adorable. 2) The cups are relatively open on top, good for functionally FOT people like me 3) They're not kidding when they call it a half-cup, even on my short roots it only just covers what it needs to.
The Bad: 1) The cups are too small. They don't run small, I've just had some recent tissue migration and figured out that I'm more of an E than a DD. 2) The band seemed to stretch really fast. When I got it I could fasten ...it on the middle hooks but now I have to use the tightest. I've heard Freya bands run bit, but it's only been two months and I honestly haven't worn it that much for the reasons below...
The Ugly: 1) It is ITCHY. Like you know the itchiness of a healing tattoo? Or gravel rash? That but everywhere the band and straps touch. 2) The wires are hard and they dig right into my close-set boobs. I have nasty red weals on my boobs after I wear this bra.
I don't know why I still have this bra. Actually that's a good point. Who wants a Freya Rapture half-cup in 28DD? Preferably in Australia/NZ? Read more 114 more words
I was hoping this would be good because so many people love it and I was looking forward to ditching my previous poor-fitting strapless. But it's wrong for me in so many ways. I literally made this account to whinge about it, and then I'll return it.
The Good: 1) It's a true 28 band! Yay! I'm a small 28 so finding a bra that I can wear on the loosest hooks is rare. 2) It's projected-ish for a moulded strapless. 3) It's not super super closed on top (I'm functionally FOT and most strapless bras dig in at the top on me.) 4) It's very sturdy and high-quality.
The ...Bad: 1) The cups are way too tall for my short roots. Like I could cut off an inch and a half quite happily. In its current state I couldn't even wear it with a scoop neck and that really defeats the point. 2) The wires are really wide. I know I have narrow roots, but these are like, right in my armpit.
The Ugly: 1) The wires are so, so, so unbearably hard. I can see how useful this might be in bigger sizes, but for a small cup size like a 28E it's overkill. It was excruciating after the scant two minutes it took to assess the fit. I could maybe deal with the tall cups and the wide wires, but this is what makes the bra unwearable. I love this print. Fresh! The measurements will make for a good bra to alter, much like my other freya bras, to fit my 28C bosom. Narrow cup width is the answer for me. Can't wait to put it into rotation. The straps are a bit wider than usual and carry the pattern forward. Straps are only partially adjustable but are fine for me. I like that the pattern extends into the posterior band. The material seems a bit softer than some of the other Freya models that I have.
I did a different type of alteration with this bra than other ...Freya models in the same style. I still used an padded bra cup as an insert, but instead of darts and narrowing the lace portion, I shortened the entire height of the cup at the wire. Smoother fit and still looks great. One of padded cups flared out at the top, but I tacked it down using a stitch technique off of youtube. It looks great and is in better proportion to my size and my breast volume. The band on this felt really large, even though measurement wise it tracks with other 28 bands I've tried. Especially weird for me was a large 1" wrinkle on the upper band under each armpit, which I've never had on any other bra.
I have the same issues with elastic strips. I think it’s a mix of the soft tissue and tallish roots.
